Twilight Sparkle was upstairs in her castle laying down on her bed as Spike was sleeping in his bed across in the next room. She was reading a book as rain pored down outside. She wondered where Starlight was as Starlight hadn't been home all day.
As Twilight continued reading she heard a knock on the door that led out to the balcony. She was worried out but the knocking as their were no trees nearby that could make that sound and it would be crazy for someone to be out there in the rain.
She continued to read for a bit but soon the knocking became constant. She got annoyed and decided to go and see who was out there she put her coat on and went outside and closed her door. She saw someone standing on the balcony in front of her with their back to her. Starlight turned around and faced Twilight Sparkle.
"Well...hello Twilight. I've been waiting to see if you came to see me..." Starlight said, Twilight didn't realize how Starlight was speaking as she tried to get Starlight inside so that's he didn't get sick but Starlight refused to go in.
"Starlight what are you doing? You can get sick! Come on in I'll warm you up." Twilight said but Starlight refused to go inside with her.
"I don't think that will be necessary for today. I only visited you so I can talk to you about something. If that of coarse is okay?" Starlight asked Twilight. Twilight became confused for a second. She wondered why she couldn't tell her inside before she leaves but she decided not to ask.
"Yeah it is. Do you need help with something? Are you okay? Your acting very strange or is that just me imagining things?" Twilight asked.
"No your not imagining things I'm only acting this way to talk to you about something that you should know about but that is if your smart enough to handle it with that big brain of yours since your better than me." Starlight mocked bitterly. Twilight was shocked that Starlight would say something like that.
"Starlight I'm not better than you. Sure I'm your teacher and everything but I never put myself above you. I've always treated you equally." Twilight said with unease. She was feeling a nervous feeling talking to Starlight as she wondered if Starlight was mad at her.
"No that's a lie. You never treated me with respect no matter how nicely you put things. I always felt like a little servant like I felt beneath you always sending me to do work and do your fucking work but....not anymore....." Starlight said as her face turned into a smile.
Twilight didn't catch on at first but after a few seconds she caught on to those last few words. Twilight immediately became suspicious of Starlight as it was strange for Starlight to say that.
"Starlight I've never treated you like that as I have always treated you with respect. I have everybody help out in my castle including me and Spike. Why would you think that...and what do you mean by not anymore?" Twilight said as she felt the uneasiness in her stomach grow. Starlight chuckled and spoke.
"Oh Twilight you certainly are naive do you think I was trying to be your friend? Do you think I was actually reformed. After you supposedly changed my ways I was able to....learn stuff about you....I know all of your secrets Twilight and I know all of your friends secrets. You wouldn't want those at risk now would you. I mean to have those secrets in the hands of a dangerous person would be terrible." Starlight said as thunder was heard above them.
"Starlight....what are you saying exactly....what's going on...." Twilight asked. Starlight chuckled sinisterly and walked around Twilight slowly as Twilight followed her with her eyes, Twilight was getting a bit scared
"You don't get it yet...you don't know what I'm talking about...ill give you the short answer....after I apologized to you and you accepted me as your friend I was able to...get closer to you and know all your dirty little secrets. They were all at my fingertips. You told me everything about the castle's secret entrance and your secrets about your family. I had the information at my disposal. When I came to Ponyville their were...certain people...that wanted information about you so they paid me in exchange. These people didn't like you one bit....I realized I had finally beaten you so I got to work and gave them your information. I leaked every secret to them." Starlight explained.
Twilight stood there trying to figure out what Starlight meant but soon it clicked together in Twilight's head as she realized that Starlight had betrayed her by leaking stuff to enemies about her.
"But you.....I thought......I....." Twilight said as she stuttered as she was truly at a loss for words. She couldn't believe it. She couldn't believe how stupid she had been she continued to stare at Starlight. Starlight laughed.
"Yes that's right it's called a double cross. Congratulations You played yourself Twilight." Starlight said with a grin. Twilight stared at her in shock, she felt rage burning inside of her. She curled her hands into fists.
"You traitor!!" Twilight screamed. She couldn't believe what she had learned, everything she had taught Starlight was for nothing as Starlight pretended to be a changed person but she wasn't as she just did it to learn about Twilight and have people pay a high price for her secrets.
"Now the egghead catches on....but there's nothing you can do about it. You will be unable to arrest me because in your friends eyes I am now seen as angel and if you try to say anything about me they won't believe you! You'd better be careful Twilight.....something might be leaked....about you..." Starlight said as she turned around to leave.
Twilight sunk to her knees as she stared in disbelief at her now ex friend Starlight opening the door to the castle, Starlight stopped and Twilight tried to say something to Starlight. Starlight slowly turned to look at Twilight as Twilight tried to speak.
"I hate you!!" Twilight screamed with venom in her voice, she had no more respect for Starlight she hated Starlight for lying to her, she had told everything to Starlight thinking that Starlight had changed until now as Starlight had just betrayed her. Starlight looked down at her with a smirk. She shrugged and replied.
"To bad for you then. Have fun freezing out in the rain. I'll have your friends bury your dead body later. Bye Bye now...." Starlight said. Starlight slammed the door shut and locked it tight and walked out of the castle with a smirk now turned into an evil smile. She had just gotten away with her betrayal she counted on her friends not believing Twilight either.
Twilight just stayed there and cried out with despair. She was so horrified by what had happened. She had grown to love Starlight and had wanted to teach her everything that she could but now that was no more as her student had just played the biggest most cruelest trick in the history of Equestria.
Twilight was horrified by what happened so she ended up killing herself by jumping off the balcony as she couldn't bear to stand the fact that the person she had trusted was a liar.
The next day her friends discovered Twilight's body. They cried when they found her. When they questioned Starlight about it she made up her most believable lie.
"It was horrible what happened. Twilight was threatening suicide as she had revealed to me that she was suffering from depression. I tried to help her and comfort her but it was to late. She killed herself, I sat there and cried so much. Oh I miss her!" Starlight said as she pretended to cry.
Twilight's friends comforted her and told her that it would be okay. When her friends left Starlight's evil grin returned as she now had all of Twilight's information. She carefully hacked into Twilight's account and stole all of Twilight's money and planted evidence against a thief who was still on the loose and then she dissapeared without a trace.
Twilight's friends and Celestia searched everywhere for the thief and finally found him and charged him with Twilight's murder they also searched for Starlight after she and disappeared but couldn't find her anywhere. Meanwhile Starlight was hiding far away from Ponyville while she grinned evilly.
