Chapters Not Friends Until the End of Time
Friendship. The thing that brings together ponies in harmony and unison. But where does harmony come from? There are two answers. The first one is the inside of our souls. That's incorrect, for everyone has flaws and imperfections, even Princess Celestia, believe me, I know. So harmony can be produced inside our souls, it comes from somewhere else. Another answer, would be from the Elements of Harmony and its bearers. That's a possible answer I could ponder about. But essentially, it's incorrect as well, since what are the Elements of Harmony if they themselves are no longer friends? But then again, the one beacon of light and hope is Equestria was from them. But emphasis on the word was. So right now, I would answer no, and that harmony doesn't come from them either.
One could comment, 'This fellow acts like they know everything' Truth be told, I sort of do know everything, I was practically part of the Elements, very close to each of them. Their unique personalities brought them together, and their love for one another is what made them stay. But- ponies have, emotions, don't they? Happiness, fear, sadness, and anger is one of them. Bitterness, misery, rage. All emotions, though one we tend to hide more than usual. But what am I doing? I'm supposed to be telling you all the whole scene that happened with them, not blabber on about friendship and harmony. So let us begin the story, two years ago...
Pinkie Pie, Applejack, Rainbow Dash, Rarity, Fluttershy, Twilight Sparkle and I all gathered around the map of friendship. Not another summoning, just a casual get together. A group of friends, no matter how important or elite, should hang out and have fun with each other, right? Twilight coughed, grabbing everyone's attention.
"As you all know, today the map hasn't called us, but I thought we should do something together, you know, aside from saving the world" giggled Twilight. A cyan pegasus let out a groan from across.
"Really Twi? You called us from this?" asked Rainbow, rolling her eyes, "I was in the middle of a nap!"
"Well excuse me for trying to plan something nice for her friends" said Twilight sarcastically, glaring at Rainbow.
Applejack raised a hoof, "Come on now girls, let's all calm down. Ah think what Twilight suggested would be fun"
"Here come Applejack playing second fiddle to Twilight once again" muttered a voice from opposite the table. Applejack shot a glare at the white unicorn.
"Ah don't play 'second fiddle' to anyone!" cried Applejack, getting up.
Rarity waved a hoof dismissively, chuckling at the farm pony, "Come now Darling, we all know you're a simple sidekick. I must say it won't get you more money for that poor farm of yours"
Applejack lit up with rage, face turning bright red, "My farm ain't poor! And I'm not a simple sidekick!"
"I wouldn't say you're refined sidekick" laughed Pinkie, rolling around in hysterics, "Get it? Cause she aid she wasn't a 'simple' sidekick, so I said she wasn't a refined one either!"
"I don't think its a good time for a joke Pinkie" piped Fluttershy, barely making a noise through the bickering of Rainbow Dash, Twilight, Applejack and Rarity.
"All you're good at is taming stupid animals, and you've started too act like those wild creatures well. Come back and get a life honey" yelled Rainbow Dash, as the other continued screaming at each other. I vividly remember Fluttershy's look a uncertainty change to disapproval, to anger, and then pure rage.
"HOW DARE YOU!" screamed Fluttershy, jumping out of her throne, and charging towards Rainbow. I stood in between the chaos, watching my friends getting extremely violent and rude with each other. I don't know much, but I do know when mares get like this, its best to keep your distance. Fortunately, everyone left quickly, each muttering an insult before they left. That night, Twilight couldn't get any sleep, tossing and turning in bed. After around three hours of sleep, and opened my eyes to see Twilight in the library pacing around in anxiety.
"What's wrong Twilight?" I asked, rubbing my eye sleepily. Twilight stopped pacing, and sighed, exhausted.
"I have to fix this" she said, flying out of the castle. I vaguely remember us making trips to each of the Element's houses, only to find a different letter pinned on each house. 'If this is one of the Elements, I don't want to see ya'll, you insulted my family and me, and Ah can't keep doin' this' It said outside the barn house. Twilight reached to Rarity's boutique, 'To the Elements; Darlings, as much as I'd love to support loosers, you all are a bit to low for my standards. I'm a famous designer, managing three boutiques, and I have a life, unlike all of you'
Twilight's eyes narrowed after reading an extremely rude and hurtful note from Rainbow Dash (I won't say what it said, it was really inappropriate, and Pinkie didn't have a note in front of her house, the Cakes said she'd rather not talk to them or she'd say too much) Twilight was too upset to go to Fluttershy's place, and flew back to her castle. Sighing heavily, she pushed open the large castle doors, and I trailed behind.
"Go and make some dinner Spike" ordered Twilight, as I ran off into the kitchen, eager to avoid Twilight's wrath. I quickly whipped up my famous nachos, and ran towards Twilight's room to find her sobbing quickly into her arms.
"When did it go wrong Spike?" asked Twilight, looking up. I remained silent. What was going on? Our friends were so close, and we can't seem to get over a simple argument. My mind waved over to a thought, but shaking my head vigorously, I got rid of the idea. Maybe, just maybe, our friendship wasn't meant to be?
"Twilight?" I heard a high quiet voice, and went to the door. Twilight got up, mumbling about, 'teaching a lesson to them' Closing her eyes, she opened the door, bracing for impact.
Fluttershy was at the door, poking her hoof at the ground, "Uh, Twilight, I wanted to apologise for-"
Before Fluttershy could continue, Twilight kept her eyes closed and started yelling, "CAN YOU JUST GO AWAY! I HATE YOU!"
Twilight gently opened her eyes to see a pale yellow pegaus with tears streaming down her face. Fluttershy blinked back her tears, face growing firm, "I came here to say sorry, even after I was hurt by our friends' letters, and I hope you'd atleast not hurt me. But I guess I was wrong"
Twilight bit her lip nervously, "Look, Fluttershy-"
"Just- spare it" growled Fluttershy. She trotted off, and Twilight broke down, crying as I patted her. And that's when it all went wrong. That friendship was never mended again, they just- couldn't seem to rekindle their friendship. One comment to another, an insult to another, someone had to say something wrong setting off the others.
And that was the end.

Something I wrote a while ago, but I wanted to finish off 'Optimist, Pessimist, and Over-Protective' and not start pressure to finish off these chapters, so I left it for a while. Hope you enjoy, I have almost all the chapters up and ready to go soon!
Not Friends Until the End of Time
Generous. That was my element. But now, it's all gone. My friends, my happiness, everything, lost in stupid arguments. After our fight, I just couldn't live in Ponyville, and I told myself I was above all that, and moved to Manehattan, to run my store branches. I- I wanted to keep going, but I just couldn't get inspiration, or ideas, and I decided to leave the industry. Its time for some fresh blood isn't it? In fact, that's the last act of generosity I've done, because I've frozen over the year.
As soon as I lost my inspiration, I lost my audience, and believe it or not, ponies here can be very harsh critics, especially when they aren't pleased. I was very rudely and roughly thrown around, and kicked out of my own showroom. Cold, wet tears ran down my face as ponies I was so generous with turned their backs on me. As if one cue, icy raindrops fell from the damp clouds, and I didn't even bother hiding from the rain.
First my friends, now my audience and colleagues, what next? Trudging through the muddy soil, I found myself at the doorstep of a library, two majestic lions flanking its entry. Glad to finally find some shelter, I hurried in, not bothering to say a polite 'hello' to the librarian. I shook my head vigorously, twisting out water from my soaked mane. Something about this aisle seemed wrong. Very wrong.
I glanced at the shelves, and found a book, and it had a title bringing tears to my eyes. "Elements of Harmony" I whispered, dusting to old book of with my hooves. Levitating it, I flipped through the ink stained pages, but writing still clear. This book seemed to go through some rough days. Kind of like my friends and I. Pictures of us uniting to use the Elements against Nightmare Moon, Discord, our friendship against Tirek, the Canterlot Wedding, the Crystal Empire. All of our adventures, big and small. But who wrote the book?
"Glad to see you're enjoying my book Miss"
I turned around to see- Spike? Well, sort of Spike. He had seemed to get a tad larger, with longer body, more scales and long tail. I stared at him, shocked to see how much he had changed over the year.
"Spike?" I asked cautiously. The last time Spike had grown up, he had become greedy and vicious, and I was making sure if that was the case now. Spike nodded, and his eyes fell on the tattered book in my hooves.
"Stumbled across it?" he asked, taking a seat beside me. I nodded, silently flipping through the pages, Spike looking as well.
I didn't feel as comfortable as I usually did around Spike, perhaps it was the fact he had grown so much. I was hesitant to ask, I didn't want to come across as 'rude', our relation becoming much more formal now. Nonthless, he's my friend, and I we were close after all.
"When did you grow so much?" I asked after a akward silence. Spike chuckled, not looking up from the book.
"It happened a week after you and the others left" I had just noticed, even his voice was deeper. He smiled sadly, looking up at me, "I guess, I changed a lot after you left- a lot"
I didn't utter a single word, but soon grew the courage to ask him a painful question, "Did all of our friends go on their own paths?"
Spike didn't answer immediately, thinking for a while, "I- I'm not really sure. Twilight had to leave, so I went around trying to find shelter. Of course I went to your boutique first"
I smiled, as he continued, "But you weren't there. Applejack, Pinkie, Fluttershy, I was getting desperate, so I even used Scootaloo's 'flying' scooter to go to Rainbow's mansion. But everyone left. Now I'm just trying to find all of you, even if you aren't willing to reconcile again"
I felt like I had touched a nerve in Spike's soul. It must have hurt, your motherly figure leaving, and then everyone you trust abandoning you. I couldn't look at Spike, I was too ashamed.
After a long silence I spoke up, "I'm so so sorry"
Hot tears flowed down my face as I sobbed into Spike's shoulder, "I wish I was there for you. You were always there for me, and when you needed my help I just-"
I couldn't bring myself to finish my sentence. Spike looked slightly taken back by my outburst, and he quietly hugged me. We stayed in a warm embrace for a while, and I finally let go.
"When did you write that book?" I asked, pointing towards it.
"Every day, when Twilight and you all made me write those letters to Princess Celestia, I kept a copy, and formed all that information into a book, so other could learn from you guys, and one day, the next generation of the Elements would know what to do"
His eyes welled up with tears, "I just didn't know that friendship would end so soon"
I felt a pang of emotion as Spike said those words, and decided to quickly change the topic. Nervously poking my hoof at the ground, I got up, "We should sit somewhere else, not in the middle of a-" I didn't know much about libraries and their terms.
"Aisle of books" volunteered Spike, getting up as well, "I spent a lot of time in libraries"
I giggled, "Yes, of course you did"
The two of us walked towards a bench, and took seat. I decided to start the conversation.
"You simply must come and visit again Spike" I offered. I'd miss my only friend left now.
"Where?"
I laughed, his question valid, "I suppose I can't live in a library forever"
"Maybe you can" said a voice. I turned around to see the same librarian at the door, the one who I didn't greet, "I have a job for shelving books, it pays well, and free residence"
I turned to Spike, "I suppose you should visit here after all"
The three of us laughed, and the libarain seemed to notice the book I had, "Elements of Harmony Miss Rarity? Aren't you one of them?"
I stopped laughing, "Oh, I was. May I ask how you know my name?"
The librarian chuckled, "You were the most stylish fashion designer around Miss Rarity, all of Manehattan knows you"
"I have a new life now. Away from designing" I sighed.
"Will you be keeping that book?"
I looked down at the musty book, but I could see the title gleaming, "Yes. Yes I will"
With a small nod, the librarian walked off, and Spike gave me a strange look, "You want to read that?"
I didn't reply, just gave a nod. Spike coughed, "Well, I better be going"
"It was great seeing you Spike" I said, giving him a quick peck on the cheek. Spike turned bright red, and smiled, "Still have the same old ways Rarity"
"I'll always be the same for you Spike" I whispered, "I wish you luck on your trip-"
I paused, and laughed, "No, quest "
Spike stared at me, amused, "You remember every line don't you"
"Crystal clear"
Waving goodbye to Spike as he braved the cold outside, I felt warm. Inside. Spike just brought a part of me back to life. These days, Spike visits very often, five times a week at least. I keep asking whether its trouble, but he insists, "Its not trouble for someone like you" We've gone on quite a few dates and outings, and we've become quite close. He's opened me up again. Made me generous again.
Author's Note
It was raining outside today, so I thought 'Rainy day, hot chocolate, laptop= writing a 'rainy' fanfiction' I needed a break from OPO* drama, to something a little laid back. I've got a really strict plan for this one, so it won't stretch to much. It'll be exactly eight chapters, a prologue, one chapter for each of the Mane 6, and a Conclusion. Simple but hopefully effective story, enjoy! And there's a reference in there to an S2 episode in there.

Hey everyone! Back with another chapter! Just a quick note to tell you, you're going to have to fill in Applejack removing the 'g' in her speak, because it looked plain...wrong on the screen. Enjoy, like (That is...only if you want to
Honesty
Honesty. I guess a pony like me seemed fitting for that kinda role. Not anymore. Not lying doesn't make a pony honest, 'cause you can always just keep yer trap shut, like I do now. After the whole fight we had, I ran straight to Sweet Apple Acres, in a mess of tears. Apple Bloom asked me what was wrong, but I didn't answer, and I went straight to my room. Getting an old cloth and a stick, I made myself a bindle and head on out the barn. I still remember hearing AB, Big Mac, and Granny Smith yelling from behind to stop. Tears glittering in my eyes, I sped on off, not daring to look back at my family.
I had no clue where to go, so I decided to head on out to Vanhoover. I guess now's the time to start to get to know half of my family better. I am half Pear after all, would be nice to get to know that half to. I ain't gonna lie, it was pretty akward when I got to the Pear Farm. Everypony was staring at me, and whispering. Head down, I hurried on into the barn.
"Pardon me, but do ya'll know if GrandPear's here?" I asked timidly, as the green mare with flame red eyes glared at me.
"Oh he's home all right" said the mare coldly, "Grand Pear! Ya have a visitor!"
A frail old pony came from inside the barn, his hair curly white, with a single remnant of his youth, his brown hair, left in a strip. I ran straight to Grand Pear, hugging him. Grand Pear was taken by surprise, but hugged back regardless.
"Applejack? What're you doin' here?" he asked, as I wiped my tears.
"My name's not Applejack anymore. It ain't fair to the Pear side of my family. I'll be-" I thought for a bit, "Honey. Honey Glaze. Reckon it should be somethin' sweet, like Ma was 'Buttercup'"
Grand Pear blinked, "Are ya sure 'bout this Apple- I mean, Honey?"
I nodded, "Absolutely. I've lived enough life as an Apple, time to see what's waitin' out there as a Pear"
The same mare who brought Grand Pear to me, led my upstairs to my room. It was the total opposite of what my room was like back home. Instead of Apple decorations, everything was Pear, but it was just as comforting, nonetheless. The oak bed had a white blanket with small little pears embroidery done on it. The wallpaper white pale green, with pear patched in horizontal line, and the walls, and a large mirror next to the table and chair.
"Its beautiful" I said, mesmoried in the room. Would Ma had lived in something like this? A wave of guilt washed over me, I felt like I betrayed Ma. Just because she wasn't around, I had abandoned all that she would have thought us.
"Well, enjoy it while ya can, 'cause I ain't lettin' an Apple stay in my house fer long!" snapped the mare.
"Who're you again?" I asked, turning around.
"I'm Pear Cinnamon, Ah run the Pear household here in Vanhoover. Its just Grand Pear, mah two sisters and brother now, and our parents. Your Ma was meant to be here, but she turned her back on us. My Ma and Pa told me, 'Family comes first' Guess that ain't the case for yer mother" sneered Pear Cinnamon.
I don't think I've ever been so mad before. Maybe when Twilight said something about dishonoring both my families, but saying something about Ma didn't just touched a nerve, it touched a whole lot!
"My Ma was the kindest out of this family, ask anyone and they'll agree. And my Dad was my Ma's family, she wasn't abandonin' anypony! Unlike yer excuse of 'good parents' my Ma taught me to respect others and be kind to everyone, but I guess we can't all be as wise a parent as my Ma was, huh?" I yelled back, fury coursing through me. Pear Cinnamon let out an angry scream.
"You'll be gone soon Applejack!" she spat, leaving. It was said that nopony so Pear Cinnamon again at the farm. Day went by, turning into weeks, months. Surprisingly, Pear Cinnamon's parents were pretty nice fellows, they said they knew their daughter was the fiery one of the household. Bucking pears ain't to different to apples, so I learnt a whole heap really quickly. I made a really good friend their, Pear Spice, and she reminded my a lot of Fluttershy. Quiet demeanor, peaceful, good with nature. We were really close, but she wasn't much of a talker, kinda like Big Mac. Then one day, I got a surprise.
"Uh, Honey?" called Grand Pear, while I was in my room.
"Yes Grand Pear?"
"Ya have a visitor down here"
I trotted down the stairs to see- Spike? Except, not Spike. His face and colours were the same, but his body was visibly larger.
"Spike?" I murmured. Spike chuckled, and nodded. I ran to him and hugged him tightly, not letting go.
"Maybe we should catch up outside?" I suggested, as the both of us went outside. We found a cool, shady spot to talk, under a pear tree.
"So, you've changed a lot?" I said, still in shock by his appearance. He was at least four inches taller than me, and in one year?
"So have you" he smirked. I blushed sheepishly. I had become a whole new pony, I've changed my name, gotten green highlights in my hair, removed my signature hat, changed my cutie mark to have two pears and two apples.
"I thought I need to let my pear side out" I confessed. Spike raised an eyebrow.
"I know you really well Applejack, and -"
"MY NAME AIN'T APPLEJACK NO MORE!" I yelled.
"Fine. I know why, 'Honey Glaze'. Because the name Applejack is the one which you received hurt and pain with. You wanna start over with a new name, but that's not who you are"
"Its been over a year Spike. Maybe you don't know my that well" I said coldly.
"But I do. No matter how many times you change yourself, you're still Applejack on the inside" Spike told me.
"Why are you here anyways?"
Spike laughed, "Rarity was a bit cold and off when we met again as well"
I paused, and my ears raised in excitement, hearing an old friend's name, "Rarity?"
"Yeah, I'm trying to meet up with all our old friends, and just- be friends again" Spike extended a claw.
I smiled, taking it, "Good to see you Spike"
"Same. So, you're a Pear now, huh?" Spike asked.
I shrugged, "Might as well get to know this side of my family"
Spike nodded, "I do appreciate that. I know what its like to have families wrenched away. Twice"
I stopped, "Twice?"
"I was born not having a family. Number one. I grew to have a family, which I had made by choice. That was taken away"
I could see tears in Spike's eyes, "I'm so so sorry"
Tears of my own were falling down, "I want to say sorry to all of them. But I can't. I just can't"
We sat for a moment, as I sobbed quietly. Spike spoke up, "Its okay. I guess. You've probably made some friends here, right?"
"Yeah, Pear Spice, she's kinda like Fluttershy and Big Mac"
My heart drowned as I said my friend and brother's name, even their name brought forth so many memories, pain, hurt. Spike sensed the moment, and cleared his throat, "Well, I better get going"
He got up quietly, dusting himself off. I didn't even bother asking where he was going. I assume I just ain't soft enough to admit I needed a friend back then, other than Pear Spice. I think Spike was waiting for me to say something, but when I remained silent, he turned and left. It was strange, seeing Spike so big, when I knew him to be just a little seedling. I saw not just size change, but maturity as well. And just like that, my friend was gone, and I did nothing to stop him, and I never saw him, or any of my friends again.
