Author's Note

Ok this is a new version of a story I started then trashed and I hope you guys will like it.

Chapter One

Discord heard leaves rustling in the wind as he layed motionless on the ground. He smelled the earthy scents from the ground beneath him and felt pain throughout his entire body. He opened his eyes and slowly lifted his head to look around. All around him were trees and bushes that seemed to stretch for miles. He groaned in pain as he got up on all fours. His head was cloudy of what had happened but he knew it was the work of the elements.

"Well....it sure beats being in stone." he said to himself. He then letted out another groan. "I should probably take this away before I do anything else." He snapped his claws together but nothing happened. "That's strange." He snapped again but with no results. Worried now, he snapped multiple times but the pain was still there. "Why....why isn't it working?! There should be no reason for it to not work! I was just using it until those ponies shot me with those elements!" Discord then realized something that made him go pale. "No it can't be true." But he knew otherwise. "They took away my....my magic." He started trembling with tears in his eyes. "Wh.....what am I go....going to do?" He had never been without his powers before and he used it for his benefits and survival. He never had parents to teach him how to survive without magic and he wasn't able to go near a town without the townsfolk chasing him out calling him names and throwing stuff at him.

"I don't where I am but I don't think the residents here will not be any different then the other ones that I have encountered. So this means I'm stuck in this forest without any magic." Tears rolled down his cheeks as he hung his head low knowing he was doomed.

Discord had wandered aimlessly through the forest for months now and it has taken it's toll on him. Without his magic he couldn't defend himself from the predators so he was covered in scars made from their teeth and claws. He also couldn't conjure up or find any food, which left him looking like a skeleton with skin and hardly any fur. He was starving and scared without anyone to care for him.

One day, though, he was looking for food when he overheard a conversation between two squirrels. "Did you really walk right up to them?" said the first squirrel in a shocked tone.

"Yeah, so what? I knew they wouldn't do anything to me and I really wanted those nuts." said the second squirrel who clearly was annoyed by the other squirrel's reaction.

"But they're humans! And I don't see why you're so foolish enough to go in human territory!"

"Oh please, not all humans are so bad. Sure there are some that hunt us but there are some that do everything they can to help us. Remember Freddy the bear? When he got in that metal trap humans came and freed him. Plus we have cousins that live near humans!"

"I suppose you do have a point but like you said, there are BAD humans as well and it doesn't hurt to be weary."

"True.....but humans do have good food and they usually throw alot of it in the garbage!"

They then scurried off leaving Discord by himself. Humans? I've never heard of them before but it sounds like their worth checking out. Especially when they have trash cans full of food. His stomach growled at the thought of food. It would probably be rotten but he was starving and desperate. "These "humans" must not be too far since squirrels don't usually venture far their homes." he said to himself. He then walked in a random direction hoping to find the humans.

Hours later, when the sun was about set, Discord was thinking to call it a night when he saw a big, black road that seemed to stretch for miles. Curious, he walked up to it and looked left to right. But when he got to the right part of the left to right, a bright light blinded him then a big metal thing swished past, causing him to fall on his back. "What the heck was that!?!?!" he exclaimed. Maybe it was one of those humans the squirrels were talking about. he thought as he caught his breath. Discord got up and looked down the road again. If it's going in that direction, that means that there is a town over there! He was already exhausted but he was desperate for food so he decided to travel down the road. After all, this town can't be that far right.

Discord breathed heavily as he continued walking along the road after two days. He didn't want to take any breaks when he knew that food could be just around the corner. His stomach growled as he slowly walked on. It was sunset when he finally saw the lights of a town. He perked up and sped up his walk. Finally!! he thought. But, out of no where, it started raining.

It was about midnight when he finally got to the town and the rain was pouring, making him soaking wet and freezing. He shivered and chattered his teeth as he tried to find someplace to hide from the rain. Then Discord stumbled upon a neighborhood with houses on each side of the street. He decided to take shelter in a shed in a nearby house. It was open a little but he managed to crawl under the door. It was a little and cold with an odd smell but at least it was dry. He found a corner to lay in and tryed to get some sleep, but the combination of being wet, cold, tired and starving kept him awake. He was miserable and he didn't know what to do. He then started sneezing. "Gr...great." he said through his chattering teeth before sneezing again. All of a sudden he heard a door opening and he saw a figure entering the room. He froze and tryed to stay as quiet as possible as the figure turned on the light. What he saw was scary. It was a hairless ape like creature with clothes. The only hair it had was on top of it's head and it had a small nose. It looked terrifying to him and he stood in his corner hoping it would not notice him. It looked around then shrugged it's shoulders before turning back to the door. Discord then sneezed and it stopped in it's tracks. It turned in his direction and he froze in fear.

"Hello?" it said.
