Warning! Power levels at critical threshold. Reactor meltdown in T-minus sixty seconds.

A Female voice echoed loudly throughout the hectic halls of the research bunker. It didn't help that a equally loud hissing spouting from the vents indicating the neural gasses solidifying doom to it's residents. Many personnel ran about trying to find a way out. Some tried to break through the equipment storage to get masks for the toxins spreading in the air. Others, they weren't so lucky and panicked too harshly and fell to the sickness in the air. However, a hefty man hovering over the controls of a computer panel was typing frantically across it's surface. Glaring at the large pod across the room. His sweaty black hair frazzled against his peach tinted skin. He wore a well worn military jumpsuit colored in a forest green pattern barring a name-tag: Kordain. His groomed hunter's mustache twitching as he felt his face succumbing to the toxins in the air. His six foot two inch frame swaying ever more as he tried to remain conscious. "You really are a little shit you know that?" He questioned to the pod, looking at deadened brown eyes of what was within.

It only stared back, a oxygen mask enveloping most of his face. It was wrapped in a straight jacket, shaved brown hair, and black slacks. This used to be a child, a boy turned to a soulless monster. To be a weapon that only could have been dreamed of. He was dubbed, "Project: Void." Viral Oppression Intelligence Destroyer. It was made to eliminate special targets that was set. It had the potential to be a super soldier. Now, it didn't seem to matter.

The man groaned as his hands gradually went numb, soon motionless as the nerve damage set in. There was no recovering. The Fail-safe of the bunker was triggered and set off just as the pod was activated. Now, with the Fail-safe activated, the pod was on lock-down until the fail-safe was halted. However, due to the pod's power consumption, the reactor went to overdrive. A small electrical error in the programing didn't increase the coolant output as it did so, now causing it to overheat. So now, every room and hall is getting a "healthy" dose of neural toxins, and soon a heaping wave of heat and radiation. The only safe places from the toxin were the safety storage, and the one thing in front of him. The pod had it's own separated oxygen line, linked outside of the station. A slight overlook on his part. Although, the stasis pod wouldn't protect the project from an explosion a mile wide.

Knowing his time left, the shutdown procedures would take too long to activate before the big bang. They didn't have enough core power to process at a quick rate. The system was low-ended, a toaster status if you will. The bulk of it was to arrive a couple days after the project was in stasis. To be built and improved at maintaining a detaining the boy. If only he was that lucky.

He looked upon the personnel scattered on the floor. All had already fell to the ventilation. Some of them he knew, others expendable. Two hundred and seventy-four people worked this bunker, now an inescapable tomb. His tomb... Kordain tapped a button over the radio to stop the static. Figures, no one was able to last this long in the neural exposure. They didn't even attempt to do the training exercises in case of this event. Slackers... Dead slackers anyways.

He contemplated how the bastard in that pod managed to get under his nose. The Mainframe is in a secluded sector of the bunker, FAR from where the project resided. The mainframe's password was only accessible via voice command of himself. Even then, the fail-safe had it's own access password. How long was he planning this? The project was always on watch, either by guards, or camera footage. He never made any major attempts to force himself to get there. Anytime otherwise, he was subdued by shock batons. He was smart however, the academic reports shown that.

Kordain only cut him some slack after the fact the project turned into a emotionless zombie. Shame, he kinda liked seeing the kid fight back. Welcome, because it no longer tried to piss him off. Now he shown the reason behind his hallowed mind as a means to slip by and ruin everything he had set in motion. If this was karma saying hi, he'd hate to see how karma would say goodbye.

Warning! Please evacuate the facility immediately. Core Meltdown in T-minus Ten.... nine....

The man stumbled over his legs walking halfway to the stasis bay and fell frontward facing the project. He only managed to slam his hand in anger on the floor as he felt what little waking moments he had before his entire brain shutdown. "I bet under that oxygen mask you are giving the shittiest eating grin. I hope your dreams are festered with every nightmare possible, before the meltdown evaporates you with all of us!" Five... He finishes with a slump as his focus stays on the pod. Those still glazed over eyes fixed upon him. The darkness enveloping his sight as he could only mutter with his last breath.

"Fuck you, Audarious."

Author's Note

This was more of a warm up bit to see what I could do here.

There wont be any actual mlp content until chapter two. The 1st true chapter is a build up for the main course, as I wanted a couple others input on my story writing.

If I get some solid time and such, expect this to go on a bit. Although I wont go a rush it. (World building is a bit tricky with all the potential ideas/situations planned.)
I can be real scatter brained afterwards XD.
