Equestria's first true war didn't come from any of the expected places. Violence and strife didn't arrive on the backs of griffons, changelings, evil kings, or any of the numerous monsters defeated by the Elements of Harmony over the years. Instead, it came from within the heart of Equestria itself -- the Everfree Forest.

As war rages in the middle of the country, spreading discontent and anger through every pony it touches, a batpony serving in Princess Luna's Royal Lunar Guard returns home after years on the front lines and begins attempting to recover from his experiences. Unfortunately, it can be hard to move on from trauma when it seems like reminders of it rear their heads at every turn.
