A life change

"Breaking news, 3 bodies were found this morning on Canterlot. Officers believe it was an animal attack..." Lyra sighed turning the TV off, not wanting to know who else got killed.

She got her school books into her bag and set off for school. It was a windy, cloudy day, fit for a Monday morning. After a battle against the wind to get to school, she eventually arrived outside Canterlot.

She sighed and made her way through the thousands of people to get a locker. She got a few books and put some in, then fixed her messed up blonde hair. She looked at her timetable that was in her locker on the door.

She slammed her locker - physics?! First thing in the morning was just too hard to do... +

Lyra arrived in class, a few minutes early and took her seat at the back of the class.

She took her books out and got ready for the day to drag in. She thought what Octavia might be doing now.... fighting crime in Ponyvilla...if only I could do that she thought.

A boy walked into the classroom.

He had Lyra gobsmacked. She wanted to know his name... and where he's from.

He sat down beside her. He had auburn hair and emerald green eyes.

The bell went for the class to start. The teacher came in. "Morning everypony," He said cheerily. A few mumbled "Morning" back. "I hear there's a new kid here..."-"yep! I'm Cart Allen" said the boy.

Lyra melted, smirking a little. He caught eyes with Lyra and made her blush, which made him giggle.

*time skip to lunch*

Lyra was always the one who would sit by herself, and read a comic. She took her usual seat in the corner.

She did have friends but just at lunch, it was her time to have a break from it all. All the girls in the school would have salads to "stay in shape" and Lyra, on the other hand, would always have something sugary like cake.

Lyra was busy reading the new flash comic, in the thought that she knows the real flash until someone interrupts. "The Flash is a great hero, in the comics and real life," said someone with a strong American accent.

Lyra rose her head from her comic to see the new boy, Cart Allen. She blushes a little and nods.

"Is this seat taken?" Cart asked. If it was someone else, Lyra would say it is taken but it was the dreamy new boy so she said,"n-no it's not." Cart smirks and takes the seat. "So Cart, where are you from," she asks, curious.

Cart could just say 'oh, I'm from the future' so he said,"I'm from New York orphanage but then my uncle adopted me." Lyra nods. The bell rang for the last few classes to begin.

But Lyra got a message, from Octavia.

Octavia, need your help - 5th street, hurry.

Lyra sighs. "I got to go for a doctor's appointment," she said gathering her stuff and getting up.

"I'm so sorry, I'll see you tomorrow Cart," she says and rushes to her locker. Cart got a text from Barry.

Barry, need your help Cart - 5th street, hurry, and make a good impression - it's your first time to show Canterlot who you are Cart smirks and gets up. He looks around for anyone then speeds to his locker, putting his bag and books in and taking out a ring box.

He opened it to reveal a gold ring with the flash symbol. He put it on. Lyra locker was nearby. She sees him, confused how he got there so quick. She took her read gym bag out and closed her locker, rushing out the school.

She was nearly there when she saw a red flash pass her, but she knew it wasn't the flash... the lightning was more reset than the flash. "A new hero?..." she thought. She ran into an alleyway and came out as the hero Arrowette.

"Here goes nothing" she mutters and ran at the babies, seeing another hero alongside the Flash.

"Cart! Wake up! You're going to be late for school!" Barry shouted up the stairs at the sleeping Cart.

"Ugh... just a little longer..." Cart groaned. Stary speed into Carts room, already ready for school, with a bottle of water.

"Common Cart! I will pour this bottle on you!" Stary said. Bart dozed off again. "Fine!" She said and with that open the bottle and poured the cold water on Cart's head.

Cart shot up at superspeed, dripping with water, his hair mussed. "What the hell Star-Star?!" He said with a groan. Stary giggled. "Hurry up and get changed," she said and went out of his room.

Cart giggled a little and did so.

Lyra was at her locker and saw Cart and Stary, giggling, as most speedsters were, but they weren't as bad as Jejin and Barry... something was different about them.

"Hey, Lyra!" Stary said as she went to her locker, meeting with a few of her friends she just made.

Cart went to his locker. "Em... Cart... can I ask you something... in private" Lyra asked him. He nods. They both went to the back of the school outside, where no one was.

"Y-you know the way you're from the future?" Lyra starts off. Cart nods. "What is it like?" She asks.

That question rang in Cart's head. He had a flashback... when he was a kid......

Flashback (ha! -flashback! Sorry back to the story...)

one normal day there was a knock on the front door - it was him, the one they all talked about, Blue Beetle.

"Cart! Stary run!" Melonie shouted at her young son and daughter ."don't run you little meat bags" blue beetle said in his crackly voice. Cart helped Stary and they both ran out the back door.

They heard a scream, crack of bones and a bodies dropping. Stary screamed a little. "Mom?!" Cart cried out to her.

"Common kids, this way," Don said. He had tears in his eyes, knowing his lover was dead but didn't cry in front of his children.

They followed their Dad out into a barren land. Then something big landed behind them. Don intimately went in front of his only children.

"You two go hide, I'll go find you in a minute," he said with a smile.

You could see in his eyes that he knew he was going to die. "Just you two remember to crash the mode," he says.

They both nod and ran off to hide. They hid behind a boulder, not too far away that their Dad could go 'find' them.

Cart poked his head over the boulder to see his dad... getting strangled by Blue Beetle.

Cart gasps. "I-is daddy ok?" Young Stary asks. "Ye he'll be over soon" he white lied to his little sister.

In a split second, C.L brought his hand he was strangling Don with into a fist, snapping Don's neck.

Cart's tears trailed down his cheek as B.B dropped his dad's bodies to the ground as if it was nothing.

Cart went back down into his hiding spot. Stary saw her saddened brother and hugged him and he hugged back.

Then a shadow cast over them, that shadow belonging to Blue Beetle himself.... +

Flashback end.

"Cart? You ok?" Lyra says to him, snapping him out of a horrible flashback.

He nods slightly. The bell went. "I-I'll tells you later, sorry Lyra..." he mutters and went to class.

Lyra pounds a little, knowing something was up with him.

It's was the last class and it was Chemistry. Cart and Lyra sat beside each other and Stary sat at a desk beside them.

"When is the teacher coming?" Stary groaned a little. The lights flickered off.

"What the hell?" Lyra says and looks around. The lights went back on and everyone except the three of them was gone.

But there were a boy and a girl at the front of the classroom. "Well Sophie; it looks like class isn't going to happen today..."

said the boy. Stary and Cart looked at each other, eyes widened. The boy turned around... "well, isn't this a coincidence?

It's little Cart and Stary Allen..." he smirks his evil trade-mark smirk. The girl turned around.

"Thad and Sophie Thawne..." Stary and Cart said at the same time.

Lyra heard about the Allen and Thawne families being the most rival families ever.

She knew she was at the wrong place at the wrong time.....

"What did you do to the rest of the class?" Cart growled a little.

"Oh, just in the hall having nap time," Sophie said. "Lyra, go check if they're ok..." Cart whispered to her.

She nods and runs out of the classroom. "Now...." Thad said getting up, as did Sophie.

They both speed changed into their outfits, as did Stary and Cart did.

Thad cracks his neck and figures. "Let's get to business...." he says with a smirk. With that, both rival families ran at each other, letting another of Many battles commence.... +

Lyra rushed into the hall where the class was in. They were all on the ground out cold.

It was quiet till Impulse went smashing through the wall with Inertia on top of him.

Lyra gasps. They both went into a speed fight. All Lyra could see was green and red electricity.

Then Purple bolt came in to help Impulse. She super-punched Inertia, making him smack into a wall, leaving a cracked crater in it. Black bolt followed and hit P.B. Impulse hit her... and this was all in less than 30 seconds.

Lyra saw some of the students were waking up. She went over to them, telling them to go.

Impulse and Inertia went back into a fight while P.B helped Lyra, trying to stop B.B to get them with her shadow hand trick.

Everyone was gone after a while. That's when things got, well, bloody. Inertia hit Impulse hard in the stomach. Impulse fell to the ground. "Impulse!"Lyra said running over to him. Inertia stood there smirking.

"Until next time Allen's... if there is a next time," he said looking at Cart who coughed up blood. P.B speed over to her brother as Sophie and Thad speed off to the unknown.

Cart coughed up more blood. Stary called Barry - "Barry, we need your help... it's Cart. By the looks of it, he's internally bleeding" Stary said. "Cart! Stay with me!" Lyra says to him as he lay on the ground, his eyes closing.

She cupped his cheeks. "Please Cart...." she mutters. Cart's eyes closed. Barry soon arrived... but it might have been too late... Lyra cries as Barry picked his future grandson up.

"Stary, you stay with Lyra, I'll let you know later if he's ok," Barry says, with a sad face. She nods.

Barry speeds off with Cart, leaving the two girls worried and scared if he's going to make it...

Hours past, Stary, and Lyra stood outside the room Bart was in, waiting anxiously. Barry came out and sighed.

"Is he ok?" Stary asks. Barry bowed his head," he's ok, it's going to be a minimum 4 mounts recovery, even for a speedster, if he wasn't a speedster, he'll be dead. He got major internal bleeding, it was as if Thad vibrated through Cart and cut it, Robards trick-" he explained.

"Can we see him?" Lyra asks. Barry nods. The two girls went in to see the brave, hurt hero.

"Hi," Cart said weakly. "How are you, Cart?" Stary said.

She looked like she was going to cry due to seeing her big brother in this state. "I've been better," he said with a cough.

"We were so worried," Lyra says sitting at his recovery bedside. "I'm grand, just been better," Cart said.

Stary couldn't keep her thoughts in her head "I swear Thad is going to get him, I'm going to hit him so hard that!-"Stary, calm, he'll get his" Cart insured her. +

They talked for a while till Barry said Cart needed to get some rest. Thad was going to get his. If a Thawne hurts and Allen, what goes around, comes around~

It was business as usual after Bart recovered. His sister finally man up and told Jamie Reyes she loved him and to her surprise, he loved her back so now they're going out.

Things between Cart and Lyra was starting to warm up.

It was after a mission, the Sun was rising, due to how late they were out, saving the world once again from the reach, the ones left behind.

Cart and Lyra were sitting on top of a building, watching the sunrise.

"Remember the first time we meet?" Lyra asks with a smirk. Cart nods," like it was yesterday," he says. "Well.... am...." Lyra started, starting to blush, "ever since that day, I am... kinda... felt.... em" she stuttered.

Cart sighed,"I can't wait any longer. you can hit me if you want after this...." he said and with that, being his impulsive self, he kissed Lyra passionately. With his surprise, Lyra kissed back with as much passion.

The pulled away, both blushing. Lyra smirked,"I don't think I need to hit you for that," she said with a giggle. He smirked,"I think I like you, Lyra, a lot," he said.

Lyra blushes a little harder. "I think I like you to Cart" she replied. The two lovers then started going out after that.

One winter's day, Arrowette, Impulse, Kid Flash and Artemis were on a mission in PonyVilla. The rouges were after nuclear weapons for no reason, they probably got bored.

The four heroes saved the world once again but I'm telling this story because of something else....it all happened in an alleyway after the saving-the-day-once-again moment. It was all too quick.

"Impulse! Behind you!" Arrowette gasped. The figure behind him was a blur, even to the speedster. The man grabbed the auburn-haired speedster and disappeared. "Cart!" KF shouted, not caring he shouted impulse's identity.

"No...." Arrowette cried. "Where's Cart? Is he ok, I can get through to him" Stary said to them through their earpieces. "He's gone Stary, someone took him," Lyra said softly, tears falling from her eyes. +
