Chapters Thorax smiled while looking at Luna's moon, remembering many things that happened in recent months. He thought about how he met his first and best friend Spike the Dragon who later introduced him to his friends who accepted Thorax's friendship.
The next months which he spent in the Crystal Empire been great for him. He became friends with some many ponies but one day something terrible happened. His mother and former ruler of the Changelings Chrysalis had kidnapped every Royal and The Elements of Harmony. But thankfully he along with Starlight Glimmer, Trixie and Discord managed to defeat her and it was when he became the King of the Changelings.
He could easily say that everything's been doing great in the Hive since Chrysalis defeat. Every Changelings had accepted their new way to live but not everyone of them accepted their new way to live immediately. His older brother Pharynx was a perfect example of it.
He yawned before standing up, then he began to walk towards his sleeping spot. As he was walking towards his sleeping spot he saw many of his subjects, asleep. He smiled at the view of them. When he reached his destination he lay down on his sleeping spot and closed his eyes.
It was when he heard a cry, somewhere in the Hive.
He couldn't just ignore it. Perharps one of the young Changelings had just woke up from a bad dream. He stood up from his sleeping spot and quietly walked over to the place from which a sound of crying was coming from. As he was getting closer to the place that sound was slowly fading.
Once, he was already there he couldn't see anyone, much to his confusion.
"Hey." He said, looking for a Changeling that was crying, homever he got no answer, "Is anyone there?" He asked, but once again got no answer. The King of the Changelings took a few steps forward while looking around for one of his subjects.
It was when he saw a bi-pedal creature which was standing next to a large rock. The King of the Changelings had never seen anything like that before but he knew what kind of creature was that. It was a human. He knew because he read a book about lost civilizations during his stay in the Crystal Empire. He thought that these stories were just a myths but now he knew that he was wrong. He also noticed that this human was wearing clothes. He was wearing black hoodie, with his hood up, blue pants and red boots.
"Hey, you." Thorax called him.
The human gasped in fear as he took a few step backwards. He had never seen a creature like Thorax before, that was the reason why he was afraid of him.
"Don't worry.'' Thorax said as he stepped closer to a human, "I'm not going to hurt you."
"You're not going to hurt me?" a human which appeared to be a boy asked.
"No. I woke up because of your crying.'' Thorax replied as he took another step forward to the child, "I'm here to help you. You don't need to be afraid of me.''
"Alright..." a Boy said, still sounding to be a little afraid of the Changeling. He slowly walked over to Thorax, then the King of Changelings lead the human towards his sleeping spot.
When they were walking a boy asked Thorax a question, shyly, ''Sorry, sir. I don't want to be rude... but what are you?"
"I'm a Changeling." Thorax replied, "Also don't worry, kid. I'm not offended by your question.
"You are a Changeling? What does that mean?" a Boy asked in curiosity.
"That means that I can change into anything I want." Thorax replied.
"Really?" a Boy asked excitely, "You can change into anything you want? Can you turn into a doggy?"
"Yes.'' Thorax replied with a nod, "But I'll show you it tommorow, alright? I don't want to wake my the rest of the Changelings."
"Alright." a Boy said with a nod.
Once they reached Thorax's sleeping spot they both sat down on the ground.
"What's your name?" a Boy wanted to know.
"Ohhh. Sorry I guess I forgot to introduce myself.'' Thorax said, "My name is Thorax.''
"Thorax?" a Boy asked. Thorax was really unusual name for him because he had never heard that name before.
"Yes. Thorax." Thorax repeated his name with a nod.
"That's a really cool name." a Boy smiled.
"Thank you." Thorax thanked with a bow of his head, "Now I'm going to ask you a few questions. Just like you asked me when we were heading to this spot."
"Okay." a Boy replied with a nod.
"What's your name?" Thorax asked.
"I don't know..." a Boy replied as he shook his head. He tried to remember his name but he couldn't.
"How old are you?"
A boy shook his head.
"Where are you from?"
Once again, a boy shook his head.
"Where are your parents?"
At that question a boy lowered his head and began to whimper. All of what he remembered of his parents was that he really loved them and vice versa. He tried to remember their faces or their names but there was nothing. Almost nothing was left of his parents...
"Kid? Are you okay?"
A boy began to cry as he looked up at the King of Changelings. He rushed to Thorax and hugged him, now crying onto his chest.
"Shhhhh....Don't worry, kid." Thorax said as he hugged a boy back, "I'll take care of you."
"You'll take care of me?" a Boy asked.
"Yes." Thorax replied with a nod.
"You promise?" the Child asked. He wanted to be sure that Thorax wasn't lying.
"I promise.'' Thorax replied as he glanced over at his sleeping spot, "Now. Shall we go to sleep?"
"Okay.'' a Boy said with a nod while wiping tears from his cheeks.
"You can sleep not far from me." Thorax declared as he pointed at the spot which was a few feets away from him, "Wake me up if you'll have any problems with your sleep.''
"Okay." A boy said with a nod as he walked up to his sleeping spot. He lay down on his spot and closed his eyes. He tried his best to sleep for several minutes but he couldn't. He opened his eyes and glanced over at Thorax.
"Sir?" He called Thorax, waking him up from his sleep.
"What is it, kid?" Thorax asked as he looked up at him.
"I can't sleep.'' a Boy replied shyly, "...Can I...sleep next to you?"
"Of course you can." Thorax smiled.
A boy smiled back as he crawled over to Thorax and laid down next to him.
"Goodnight." He said to the Changeling before closing his eyes.
"Goodnight." Thorax said back to him but he did not closed his eyes. He decided to watch over the boy until he was asleep so he could be sure that a boy will fell asleep without any problems.
While watching over how a boy was slowly falling asleep. Thorax thought about many things which will happen in the next day. He wondered about how the rest of the Hive will react about the human he had just found and about how will he convice his brother Pharynx that this boy was not dangerous for the Hive.
As the human was asleep Thorax closed his eyes and went to sleep but before that he had reached one conclusion. That the next day will be a very long one.
Thorax yawned as he opened his eyes, then he looked around to see that a boy he had found somewhere in the Hive a night before was already up.
The human had noticed that Thorax was not sleeping anymore. He had been waiting for him to wake up every since he woke up so he walked up to him and sat down beside him.
"Hi Thorax." He greeted him.
"Hi kid.'' Thorax greeted him back, "How long have you been up?"
"Several minutes, I guess" a Boy replied.
"Alright." Thorax said, then asked, "How do you feel?
"I feel better than last night.'' a Boy smiled with a nod, "Thanks to you.''
''Glad to hear it." Thorax smiled back, "What about my subjects? I want to let them know that you mean no harm."
"Most of them are still asleep.'' a Boy told him.
"Alright, we'll wait until they will be up, then I'll talk to them." Thorax exclaimed as he sat up.
"Thorax...'' a Boy said shyly.
"What is it, kid?" Thorax asked.
"I don't want you to call me ''kid'' all the time.'' a Boy began shyly, "Perharps we can came up with a name for me because I don't remember my real one."
Thorax grinned, then said, "Actually I wanted to ask you the same thing."
"Really?" a Boy asked.
"Yes." Thorax replied as he patted his head, earning a giggle from the kid, "So, shall we start?"
"Yeah, let's start." a Boy said with a nod.
Both of them began to discuss about the kid's name. During their discussion for the human's name both of the came up with a few suggestions. For example Thorax's came up with names like Beta, Delta or Omega and a boy came up with names like Michael, Derrick or Marlon.
Their discussion lasted several minutes and probably would last more if it wasn't for Thorax's suggestion, ''How about Okame?''
"Okame?'' a Boy said. He really liked the sound of this name.
"I found that name in one of the books I read back in the Crystal Empire but it is your choice.'' Thorax said, then he asked a boy "So what do you think about this name?''
''I like it.'' Okame smiled with a nod, "You can call me like that."
"Alright Okame." Thorax said as he stood up and walked a few metres away from Okame, "Now, how about I show you that I can change into any creature I want."
"Oh yes!" Okame said excitely, "I've been waiting for it ever since you told me about that!"
"Since last night." Thorax chuckled.
"Yeah..." Okame said before Thorax turned into a dog just like Okame wanted him to change into it last night, much to Okame's excitement.
"Wow..." was all Okame could say as he clapped his hand with is his eyes wide open, not believing his eyes. He wanted to see more of it!, "Can you change into something else, now?"
Thorax nodded as he changed into a tiger, earning cheers from Okame who still couldn't believe in what he had just
Both of them were having fun which was interrupted by a familiar voice.
"Hello brother." A familiar voice to Thorax interrupted them.
Thorax quickly changed into his normal form and turned in the direction of the voice to see his older brother Pharynx who was walking towards him and Okame, followed by the other Changelings.
"Oh, hey Pharynx!" He greeted him.
"Hello Thorax." Pharynx said grumpily, "You have woken up most of us with that cheering and clapping. I don't know what were you doing but..."
"Ohh...Sorry about that." Thorax apologized as he rubbed his head and looked around, avoiding Pharynx's gaze.
"What is it, brother. You're acting weird." Pharynx remarked.
Thorax sighed as he glanced over at Okame, "Alright, I guess it's time to tell you...Pharynx and my subjects, last night..."
It was when Pharynx spotted Okame...
"What the hell is that creature?" Pharynx interrupted him.
"Pharynx, I wanted to..."
"What if he finds a weapon and attacks you..." Pharynx began, interrupting his younger brother, once again.
"Pharynx..."
"Or worse he could be sent here by Chrysalis..."
"Pharynx..."
"Who wants to get her revenge on you and the other three because you..."
"Pharynx!''
"What?" Pharynx asked his younger brother.
"Can you please, let me explain it to you?" Thorax asked, then he looked over at the Changelings that gathered beside Pharynx, "I want to assure you all fo you that Okame means no harm to any of us."
"Fine." Pharynx groaned.
Thorax took a deep breath and said, "Every Changeling I want all of you to meet Okame." He pointed his hoof at Okame who waved his hand slowly, "After I found him I decided to take him with me, then I asked him a few question about who he is but unfortunely he has amnesia, so for now I'm taking care of him. And before one of you asks. If he wanted to attack me or any of us, he would do that last night when we were sleeping
"So he means no harm for any of us?" One of the Changelings asked.
"Yes, I can vouch for him." Thorax replied with a nod, then glanced over at his brother, "What about you Pharynx?"
"Fine." Pharynx said, still looking at Okame with suspicious look, "You know I trust you, brother so I will trust you on this."
Then all of the Changelings walked away from them to eat breakfast, most of them were whispering among themselves, probably about Okame.
"Well...That went better than I thought." Thorax stated as he turned around to Okame and waved at him, "C'mon Okame! I want you to meet my brother!"
"Okay!" Okame said as he walked up to Thorax and Pharynx.
"Pharynx this is Okame." Thorax introduced Pharynx to Okame, then he introduced Okame to Pharynx, "Okame this is my older brother Pharynx."
"Hello sir..." Okame said shyly.
"Hi." was all Pharynx said.
"Now, how about we eat breakfast and then I'll show you some activities in the Hive?" Thorax asked Okame, "I'm sure you'll find something you will like."
Okame nodded and went off with Thorax and Pharynx to eat breakfast with them.
An hour has passed since Thorax introduced Okame to the rest of the Hive and he had admit that the introduction went better than he thought. Currently he, Okame and Pharynx were sitting by the table, waiting for their breakfast.
It finally came when one of the Changelings responsible for the food walked over to them.
"Here's your food, your majesty." the Cook said as she put the three plates of food on the table.
"Thank you." Thorax thanked his cook with a bow of his head.
The Cook smiled before walking away from her king.
As the Royal Brothers began to their breakfast and Okame had to hide his disgust because food wasn't the best looking. He hoped that the food will taste than it looks. He let out a long sigh before taking a small bite of his food. After the bite he had to admit. The food tasted better than it look. He smiled and said, "It's good."
"I'm glad you like it. I was worried you'd not like it." Thorax said.
"Kid, how old are you anyway?" Pharynx asked.
"I don't know." Okame replied with a shrug of his shoulders.
"You don't know?" Pharynx asked in confusion.
"Don't you remember?" Thorax asked, "He has an amnesia."
"Oh... right." Pharynx replied, "But why does he know what his name is?"
"We came up with it several minute before we woke you up." Thorax replied as Okame nodded in confirmation, "We'll change it to his real name if we will ever find out what his real name is."
"So, you both came up with a new for him but you couldn't came up with his age?'' Pharynx asked.
"Well... We didn't had time for it." Thorax replied, rubbing his head.
"Because you were busy making of fool of yourself in front of him." Pharynx stated.
Thorax blushed, rubbing back of his head in embarrassment.
"Honestly." Pharynx began, "You look like a ten year old to me."
"Okay. I'm okay with it." Okame said with a shrug of shoulders.
"So, you'll be considered as a ten year old at least for now." Thorax said as he rubbed Okame's head, earning an annoyed groan from Pharynx.
"I should get going now, " Pharynx said, hopping off from his seat.
"You're not coming with us?" Thorax asked his brother.
"No." Pharynx replied, walking away from his brother and Okame, "I have better things to do than showing this creature our Hive."
"Is he always like that?" Okame asked as he looked up at Thorax.
"Don't worry. One week, or two weeks and he'll change his behaviour towards you." Thorax assured him.
"If you say so." Okame said.
"So, how about I show you some activities in the Hive?" Thorax asked.
"Sure." Okame smiled.
Okame nodded as he hopped on Thorax's back, then the King of the Changelings lead him into the Hive.
"There's many activities in the Hive." Thorax began, leading Okame further in the Hive, "There's threater." He said, pointing at the group of Changelings who were practicing for their next play, then Thorax pointed at the group of Changelings that watched how the other two danced with one other "Square dancing." Then, at the library, "There's library if you want to read something. And you said that you liked our food so you may be happy about information that we have a culinary contest, once a week."
"Oh, cool." Okame said back at the information as Thorax continued to show him the things he could do in the Hive.
"And the last things we have, at least for now is painting." King of the Changelings pointed at the painting of a flamingo, "And who can change into anything I want? This guy." He said as he changed into a flamingo, earning a giggle from Okame,
''I think I'll go the library and read something." Okame replied.
"Alright, then.'' Thorax smiled, "if you need something, you know where to find me."
''Will you be where you brought me after you found me last night?" Okame asked. He wanted to be sure.
"Yes." Thorax replied as he walked away from Okame.
Okame waved at him before making his way to the library. He walked up to a bookshelf in the historical section of the library and looked for a book to read. A boy decided to read a book about history so he could learn more about the world he found hiimself in. He searched for a book for few minutes before he came across a book called "Reunion of the Royal Sisters.".
The young human thought for several seconds about reading this book before picking it up from the shelf. He looked around to find a place where he could read it. After a minute he spotted the perfect spot so, he walked over to the spot and sat down on the ground not far from the young Cyan Changeling who was reading a book to the two smaller Changelings that sat next to her.
"Look, sis!" He heard one of the Changelings say, "It's the creature that King Thorax introduced to us!
"Yeah! He looks so, much bigger. He's probably in big sister age. Wonder how big he'd be when he'll get older."
"Pinky! Greeny! Both of you stop!'' the Cyan Changeling shushed them.
"Okay..." Pinky said.
"Sorry." Greeny said
"Sorry for them." the Cyan Changeling apologized, turning her attention to Okame.
"It's alright. Nothing happened." Okame said back before asking, "What's your name, anyway?"
''Ocellus'' a Changeling replied. Suddenly, her tone changed. It was now much quieter, much to Okame's confusion.
''Excuse me, I don't hear you. Can you repeat?" Okame asked.
"Ocellus" a Changeling repeated.
"Once again, please." Okame asked, once again.
"Ocellus." Ocellus repeated.
"Nice to meet you Ocellus." Okame smiled, "My name is Okame."
"I know your name." Ocellus said shyly, "I was there when Thorax introduced you to the Hive."
"Oh..." Okame said, rubbing his head, "Right. Everyone was there." Then, he asked, "What are you reading?"
"Well... Actually I'm teaching my siblings how to read. My parents can't do that because they always busy. My daddy is a soldier and my mommy is a cook." Ocellus explained, then she pointed at the younger Changelings, "Meet my brother and sister. This one is my younger brother Greeny."
"Hello." Greeny said.
"And this one is my younger sister Pinky." Ocellus said, pointing at her younger sister.
"Hi!" Pinky said, excitely, "So, you're the creature King Thorax introduced to us! Wow, you're bigger than the first time we saw you! I know you probably heard me and Greeny saying this to each other when we were whispering about you but hey! Why not tell you this!? Wow! What are those things at the end of your hooves? It looks like a claw of a dragon but I'm sure it's not a claw..."
"Pinky. Can you stop?" Okame pleaded, "I can't keep up."
"Sorry!'' Pinky apologized, "I'm just excited about two things! First thing is meeting you and the second thing is the next of our trupe!"
"The next play?" Okame asked, "How is it called?"
"Bravery Cave." Ocellus replied.
"Bravery Cave? What is it about?" Okame asked.
"The only thing I know that it will be about three pirates named Echo, Dorzie and Cread who found a cave where they meet two creatures named Robbie and Bobbie." Ocellus replied, then she added, "I know that because my uncle plays Cread in this play."
"Sounds interesting." Okame stated, "When it will be?"
"The next day." Ocellus replied as she looked at the book which Okame was about to read, "That's the nice book you're going to read."
"Really?" Okame asked, earning a nod from Ocellus in response, "Good to know. I want to learn something about the place I found myself in."
"That's the good thing you started with the book about ponies." Ocellus told him, "We Changelings owe them a lot."
"Really? What happened?" Okame wanted to know.
"With their help King Thorax managed to overthrow our former queen." Ocellus replied, "Since then, everything was doing great in the Hive. Much better than it used to be with her in charge."
"Really? Was she that bad?" Okame asked, earning a nod from Ocellus, "Can you tell me the story about her?"
"You want to know about it?" Ocellus asked.
"Yes." Okame replied with a nod.
"Alright, then... Our former Queen went by the name of Chrysalis and..." Ocellus began.
Author's Note
Finally I finished the next chapter of this story. I'd would finish it sooner but the first episode of The Walking Dead The Final Season premeried and after playing it and started to work on a crossover between this game and a TV series called Z Nation (that's why almost finished chapter was untouched for two weeks).
