The doors to Club Chaotic, the most hottest, and most exclusive nightspot in Canterlot, if not all of Equestria open, allowing everypony outside to hear the loud thumping music coming from inside the club, and I walked in. I made my way through the packed club to the bar, and sat on one of the barstools, giving a bag of bits to the bartender, and ordering a whiskey, and cola. Nodding, the Unicorn mare behind the bar quickly mixed the drink, and passed it to me, sticking a pink straw into the glass.
"Thanks," I said half-heartedly, taking a sip of my drink, before heading up to the V.I.P room.
I found the room vaccant, which is unusual for 10:30 on a Friday night, but that's quite alright with mr. Setting my drink on table furthest from the door in the right back corner of the room, I sat on the plush black leather couch with my back legs dangling over the edge. I sighed, and took another sip of my drink thorugh the pink straw.
"Why?" I asked nopony in particular. "Why did they do that to me? I thought parents were supposed to love their children, no matter what, not kick them out, send them to a prison camp to be tortured, and then put a hit out on them."
"No offense, but your parents are the spawn of Tartarus itself," said a strong masculine voice with a heavy accent.
Looking up toward the door, I saw a red Unicorn with a blue mane, and blue eyes standing in the doorway, a mug of ale in his magical blue aura.
"You'll get no argument from me, on that," I said. "I'm sure Princess Celestia, Princess Luna, the Element Bearers, and Spitfire, and Soarin' would agree with you too."
"Mind if I join you?" he asked.
"Why would you want to? I'm a monster, and a freak."
"Those ponies who used to call themselves your parents are the monsters, and freaks."
"They were right about me though," I said sadly, looking down at the table top again.
I decided to change the subject to try to make things less depressing, though I doubted it could be any more depressing than it already was.
"Critical Strike?" I asked.
"Sorry, mate, but you've got the wrong stallion," said the Unicorn.
"But you look just like him," I said.
"That's because he's my brother. My name is Spear Wielder, one of Princess Celestia's Elite Guards who was at the trial. Personally, I was glad to see those wankers get what was coming to them."
"Wankers?"
He made a 'jerking off' gesture with his free forehoof, and I nodded.
"Yeah, they're wankers alright," I said with a chuckle. "So what made you want to talk to me?"
"As somepony who has a brother who uses magic to masqurade as a mare, I was interested in your story, and wanted to see justice done not just for your sake, or my brother's, but for all who have suffered at the hooves of those...those...."
"Wankers?" I offered.
Spear Wielder grinned.
"Yes! Wankers!" he exclaimed.
We clinked our glasses together, and took a drink.
"Is it true?" asked Spear Wielder.
"Is what true?" I asked.
"That you asked the Princesses personally to spare them, rather than sentencing them to death, or banishing them to the moon, or the sun."
"Yeah, I did. There's been too much violence, and bloodshed already, and like the others who went through what I did, I just want to be able to live my life in peace."
"And you should be able to. Nopony has the right to tell you that you can't be what you've always been meant to be."
"Princess Celestia, and Princess Luna said the same thing."
"And they're right."
Spear Wielder finished his drink in one gulp.
"I need to get back to the castle, because I have to get up early tomorrow for my duty shift."
"Take care, Spear Wielder. It was nice meeting you."
"You too, Six String. Stay strong, even in the face of adversity."
"I will. Thanks for the company, and the conversation."
"Anytime, Brony," he said offering a hoofbump.
"I bumped a hoof against his, and smiled, Then he turned, and left with his empty ale mug in his magic.
I finished my drink, and went back for another deciding not to mope about alone in the V.I.P. room, but rather to socialize with the ponies at the club. When I got back to the bar, I saw Princess Luna sitting at the bar enjoying a drink.
"Your Highness," said, bowing.
"Not yet, but hopefully before the night is over," said Luna, giggling.
I facehoofed, shaking my hed at her silliness, and sat next to her, and gave the bartender more bits. The bartender mixed my drink, and passed it to me, putting another pink straw into it as she smiled.
"What brings thee out tonight, Nimble?" asked Luna.
"I thought I'd check this place out before I head back to Ponyville. I know it only just opened recently, but it seems to have gotten popular in that short amount of time. There's ponies lined up from right outside the door to half way down the mountain Canterlot sits on...well not really, but it does seem that way."
"DJ Pon3 is famous all across Equestria, just as you are," Luna told me. "and ponies travel from all over, including places outside of Equestria, just to listen to her play music. She, and Octavia did a duet at Cranky Doodle, and Matilda Donkey's Wedding in Ponyvile, as well,"
"I was performing in Appleloosa, so I missed that."
"It was quite lovely," said Luna. "They even had fireworks that were activated by not only the love that the couple felt for each other, but the love that their families, and friends felt toward them."
"Now I wish I would have skipped out on the Appleloosa gig to be at the wedding.
Luna smiled.
"We are going to go dance for a bit. Would thou care to join us, Nimble?"
I smiled, and nodded, quickly pounding gmy drink as spear Wielder had earlier with his ale. The three of us stood up, and went out do the dance floor where the crowd all parted for us, and bowed. The Princess nodded to the other ponies, and the ponies quickly resumed dancing. I looked up toward the DJ booth, where even through the flashing lights, and fog, I could see Vinyl Scratch nodding along with the music that she was playing. The song changed, and Luna, and I started dancing along to to the beat.
"Give it up for Princess Luna! She really knows how to shake her flank on a dance floor!" somepony shouted, and the crowd cheered loudly.
I could see Luna visibly blushing, but she kept right on dancing.
After awhile she left the dance floor, and I went with her.
"We need to head back to the castle now, but would like you to join mine sister, and I in the morning for breakfast before you return home to Ponyville.
"Thank you. I'll be there."
"Good night, Nimble," Luna said hugging me. "Don't stay out to late, and try not to get too drunk."
"I'm not making any promises," I said winking.
Luna giggled again, and I bowed to her.
"Goodnight Princess."
I woke up the next day, and I had a hangover that made me feel like I had been dropped on my head from the highest tower of Canterlot Castle. I shook my head to clear out the mental cobwebs, and saw that there was an Earth Pony stallion in full armor across the room. I also became aware that I was covered in bandages, and of a loud beeping that was throbbing in my ears, and making my head feel like it was going to literally explode. Turning my head, I saw that the beeping was coming from a heart rate monitoring machine, to which I was connected through wires attached to my chest by circular disks. There was also an IV tube going from my right front leg to a clear bag of liquid hanging on a metal pole, and a bright beam of sunlight shining in through the window.
"What the buck?" I groaned wearily, as I noticed the bruises, and scratches that covered the parts of my body that weren't covered by the covers of my hospital bed.
"Oh good, the you're awake", the guard said.
"What am I doing here?" I asked.
"The owner of Club Chaotic found you at the bottom of the stairs leading to the basement storage room, beaten, and bloody. He had a bouncer find the guards, who brought you here to the hospital."
"How long have I been here?"
"Since last night," the guard told me.
Suddenly, there was a light knock on the door, and it opened, revealing Celestia, and Luna. The guard bowed as the Princesses walked in.
"Would you please excuse us?" asked Celestia.
"Of course your highness," the guard said, leaving the room, and shutting the door on the way out.
"Nimble, art thou alright?" Luna asked in a worried tone. "What happened?"
"I don't remember. The guard did fill me in on a little bit of the details, but it's all just a foggy haze."
"I did warn thee not to stay out too late, and not to get too drunk," Luna said in an almost scolding tone.
"I only had three drinks throughout the whole night, and spaced them out well enough, so that I wouldn't get drunk."
"And I highly doubt that those injuries were the result of you falling down some stairs in a drunken stupor," added Celestia.
"So I was assaulted. The question is by whom."
"We shall begin a investigation straight away," Luna told me. "Did you have any altercations with anypony at the club?"
"No. The last thing I remember is sitting at the bar, and sipping my drink."
"Hmm," said Celestia, thinking aloud. "Perhaps we should go to the club, and speak to the owner, as well as some of the ponies who were at the club last night."
"That would be a good place to start, sister," Luna said.
"So how did you find out?" I asked.
"After the guards brought you here, they reported it to us, since they recognized you, and knew that you're our friend." Celestia stated.
Turning, the Princess of the night smiled at me.
"Rest now, Nimble. We will continue the investigation, and let thee know if We find any new information about what had happened last night. We will also send a letter to the Element bearers to let them know what has happened. "
"Thank you."
Using her magic, Celestia opened the door, and exited, followed closely by Luna. The door closed most of the way, but through the small opening, I could hear Celestia whispering something to the guard that had been in the room when I'd woke up, though I couldn't really hear exactly what was being said. I did year the guard's reply though.
"Yes, your highness," he said, and I could hear his armor rattling around as he either bowed, or saluted, though with the door shut most of the way, I wasn't really able to see which.
A short time later, the door opened, and a grey Unicorn mare nurse with a orange mane, and tail, and green eyes stepped into the room carrying two small plastic cups in her magic. I saw that one had a couple of blue pills in it, and the other had water in it.
"For the pain," she said. "By the way, my name is Caring Heart, and I'll be your nurse during the day today, so if you need anything, just call out, and I'll come running."
I nodded, and accepted the two cups, downing the one with the pills first, followed closely by the one with the water. The nurse then used her magic to fluff up my pillow a bit before taking the two cups back from me.
"Sleep now," she said. "You need to be well rested, so you can heal faster."
"You'll get no argument from me on that, I said. "Besides, I owe whoever did this to me a beating they won't ever forget."
"Well, there wil be plenty of time for that once you're back on your hooves again."
"Now I wish I'd gone back with the girls to Ponyville, rather than hanging around to get drunk, and mope over how evil my parents are."
The nurse glared at me.
"They got off easy after what they did."
"Then you know who I am,: I said.
She nodded.
"There's no one on Equis, who doesn't know now," the nurse replied. "Or about what happened to you."
"Don't let me forget before I leave, I owe the staff here an autograph session. It's the least I can do for putting up with me while I'm here."
"The least you could do is nothing, but we all know you're not that much of a jerk."
"You won't say that once you get to know me," I retorted with a yawn.
The nurse giggled, shut the curtains on the window. Then she left, turning out the lights, and shutting the door most of the way, and allowing a little light in from the corridor. As soon as she was gone, I closed my eyes, and fell asleep again.
