(Note: The bellow are just what magic gives/enhances in the species not all their skills/abilities ) Unicorn: Capable of channeling mana from within them trough their horns to make various effects on the world around them. Earth Pony: Passively channel their mana trough their hooves to increase the growth of plants in addition their regeneration is slightly faster than other ponies. Pegasus: Weather manipulation and flight by using their mana Bat Pony: Able to fly, suck in mana trough their fangs and see at night unable to weather manipulate.(They were created by unicorns using dark magic on pegasai so they can escape the Solar Tyrant after the fall of Luna. Even though Celestia isn't a tyrant and Nightmare moon did happen.) Crystal Pony:They are extremely durable and heat/cold resistant Capable of sustaining themselves on water and gems and their magic makes crystals and other gems really slowly grow in size . (Created by ponies using magic to adapt to the windigo winter rather than move.) They can be earth pony/pegasi or unicorn but are most commonly earth pony. They are incapable of using their magic to fly weather manipulate channel their magic to change the world around them or to make crops grow. DDogs: Sharper claws and they have adapted into using their magic to sense the world around them passively allowing them to see magic when its used around them.(This is mostly a development from hunting magical creatures like the cockatrice that could kill them with magic while being physically unintimidating.) Changelings: Can change their form on the molecular level use magic and fly and manipulate weather. Griffins: Can fly and are extremely cold resistant any weather manipulation they do is temporary Dragons: Magic resistant, Hardened scales, Fire breath, Flight, extreme heat resistance and size growth( Yeah they are OP) Kajit or cat people: Can jump really high and see magic like DDogs Sea pony/Hyppogrif: they have the ability to switch between underwater and Arial forms gaining either the ability to breathe under water or fly and weather manipulation on the griffin level Buffalo: Hardened skin and can survive without water for months Yacks: Hardened horns and have extreme cold resistance Minotaur: Innate senesce of direction being able to find their way to a place they have been to before trough looking at the night sky and they have hardened horns Zebra: Capable of channeling their mana trough their fur causing an illusion of their stripes moving which either disorientates or causes seizures depending on how many zebra's are doing it Desert horses: Capable of going without water for months and are heat resistant Centaur:Capable of draining magic and its physical strength is increased by its mana pool A fun fact: Ponies are racist due to pretty much every species either using them as food or slaves at one point or another in the past when slavery wasn't outlawed. Due to a dragon hatchling being made a slave and the dragons destroying a few towns in retaliation slavery is now illegal world wide. A few major events that happened: Celestia banished Luna shortly after the two sisters were given ruling power by the leaders of the 3 tribes. The tribe leaders saw this as Celestia going power crazy and immediately resorted to researching dark magic in hope of finding a way to defeat/escape Celestia. Some time later while researching they discovered the prophecy of Nightmare's return. With this new knowledge they came up with a brilliant plan they imbued some 500 pegasai with dark magic told them what Celestia did to her own sister just to gain power and send them to either make an army or find help and come back to dethrone Celestia on the night of Luna's return. (And maybe Luna would take one of their descendants and rule along side him.) And so the Thestrals or bat ponies came to be. Upon the night of Luna's return the thestrals came with an army of 1000 during the years to ensure that their decedents would fulfill their duties the thestrals turned Luna into a goddess that had sacrificed herself so that they could escape Celestia who was essentially a demon that wanted all to worship her so that she would gain enough power to burn the entire world. They also had some nifty rituals like drinking until you start to lose balance and then throwing round stones at each other or snowballs(It has to be round like the moon doesn't mater what it is) And also flying in a circle every night when the moon is fullest.(you know odd religious things.) So anyways they came armed and ready to defeat Celestia and rescue Luna but they knew they weren't a match for Celestia so they decided to take all her most devoted worshippers(Her guards) captive and exchange them for Luna then once Luna has recovered they would attack again and put an end to the Sun Tyrant's tyranny. It was a great plan and it was working perfectly up until Celestia came to her throne room to the sight of all her day guards bruised and tied up and surrounded by bat ponies. She would have gone into a rampage but the bat pony leader's demand that she release their goddess stopped her in her tracks. In Celestia's moment of confusion filly Luna showed up on her back and the thestrals promptly tackled Celestia and began to take Luna away, Surprised by Celestia's weakness the bat pony leader decided that he could kill Celestia and charged only for filly Luna to blast everyone to the walls with the Royal voice. Some explanation later and Luna has 1000 soldiers trying to protect her while the royal guards are forced out of their barracks for being day walkers and the thestrals have essentially agreed to not kill Celestia so long as they are allowed to protect Luna. Also they essentially took over Canterlot castle and gave back half of it thanks to Luna asking them. I only wrote the creatures with societies becouse every 2nd creature is inteligent and it would take a lot of time writeing them all and not even all the creatures here are guaranteed to make an apearance in the story.(Crystal ponies will not since the story takes place between A dog and a pony show and season 2 finale) Chapter 1//Throne Room\ "You shall remain in the castle and aid our forces with every bit of information you have about the changelings. You shall have two guards one day and one night they shall be with you at all times. If the changeling threat comes to pass you shall be pardoned off all crimes and receive whatever compensation you deem needed before you are banished to a neighboring country of your choice. If however there is no invasion of changelings within the next 5 years you shall be bound and publically executed your body shall remain rotting until the crows devour it as testament to what shall befall all who try to deceive me. Guards take mister BOB to a guest chamber and inform the night guard that one of them is to be assigned to the Diamond Dog also inform Shining Armor to assign a day guard." And so it was that Bob having heard his sentence was levitated outside the throne room by Iron Hide and promptly handed off to another guard. "You door guard. You are to take this mutt and put him in a room he is not to leave your sight. I need to go see captain Armor about reassigning some guard to him permanently." -The door guard levitated the dog in his green magic before the first guard.( Its at this point that Bob should have noticed the magic aura and tried to speak up or do something but he was too preoccupied wondering if Chrysalis's attack is in more than 5 years and if he can figure out a way to escape or at least convince Celestia he was telling the truth so she would just declare him innocent give him the money and let him go. Heck he completely lied about the pack and about their slaves not being ponies so he was pretty happy that his human knowledge saved his life after being the reason he was almost clawed to death when he was a pup.) "Um sir isn't this the dog from that burrow we got? Why didn't the princess just kill him and be done with it?" The soldier asked perplexed. "Because guard the mutt convinced the princess that we are under threat of being attacked by something called changeling and the mutt claims he knows how to fight them. Now go do what I told you or I will have you running laps around the castle until your next shift." Iron Hide said despising the fact a lower ranked guard dared to question him regardless how odd the situation. "I swear first it was those testrals now a dog. What's next? Griffin ambassadors being allowed rooms in the castle. What is the princess even thinking?" Iron Hide muttered to himself as he left to find Shining Armor. All the while not noticing the frozen in place guard. "Hey newbie chill that's just Iron Hide making treats he won't follow up on any of them unless he knows your name and I am pretty sure he doesn't." The other door guard said snapping the first from his thoughts. "Ha ha yeah well I got ta go put this mutt in a cell .You heard the orders." the first guard said with a nervous smile. "Wait didn't Iron just tell you to take him to a room?" The second guard asked confused. "Well the dog is tied up and I am supposed to watch him and we aren't allowed in the guest rooms so he obviously meant for me to take him to the dungeons." The first guard said now visibly sweating. "....Yeah I can see that." the second guard finally said with a shrug as the first one visibly relaxed and left running. "Heh Newbies always trying to work hard never realizing their shift wont end any sooner." The second guard said to himself in the empty hallway. //Day wing of the castle -Shining's office\ Iron Hide walked into Shining's office without knocking. "So Iron is the princess going to help us retake our barracks?" Shining asked a little ticked that Iron didn't knock. "What? Oh uh I haven't asked her yet but more importantly-" Iron began to say but was interrupted by a furious Shining. "More importantly! More importantly! Listen here Drill instructor Hide I went on a 1 month mandatory vacation thinking you and the other guards can hold things in check while I was away. Only to come back to a foreign force occupying half the castle including our training grounds, my sister being a pawn in the princesses schemes and being ordered to remain in the most dangerous town in Equestria where she was forced to deal with dragons, griffons, zebras and most reacently diamond dogs. I gave you one task. ONE! Go to the princess during court and request we be allowed to re-take the training grounds or at least some sort of agreement is reached where we can use them to train our guards. You were allowed to skip watch so that you could do just that so explain to me what is so important that you can skip doing your job drill instructor Hide?" Shining finished throbbing at the mouth while staring at a backing away Iron Hide. "U-um the P-Princess ordered me to have the diamond dog we captured to a guest chamber and have you assign a day guard to him as well as have one of the bat ponies watch him during the night. Apparently he has some information about a potential threat and the princess has decided to pardon him in exchange for the information." Shining couldn't believe his ears he and the guards had finally been able to do their job by whipping out the evil dogs and now the one dog they had captured to be sentenced for the crimes and be publically executed was going to go free and potentially capture more ponies. In this moment something broke in him. "AAAAAAAAAAAAH" Shining screemed as he knocked Iron Hide into the door with enough magic force to break the door and send both Iron and the door crashing into the wall in the corridor. Iron fell unconscious shortly after with a few broken ribs. "Is everything alright captain?" Root Shield one of the new recruits and currently the only earth pony in the royal guards asked as he poked his head trough the hole that was once the door he was tasked with guarding. What he saw inside was Shining taking in big gulps of air and letting them out slowly as he moved one of his hoves in a relaxing manner . "Oh. Yes and you are just the pony I wanted. You go to princess Luna and tell her that princess Celestia has requested one of her night guards to watch the diamond dog we captured during the night you will be assigned watching the mutt during the day. Now if you'll excuse me I need to take Iron here to the medical ward and then go to the princess for my punishment for nearly killing a royal guard without provocation." Shining said in a monotone voice as he walked past Root and proceeded to levitate the unconscious form of Iron away leaving a speechless Root Shield behind. "Wait. What?" Root said to the empty hall as he realized he was tasked with going into the night wing of the castle and every day guard that went near left bruised regardless in they managed to get an audience with princess Luna. Author's Note I have no idea what is to happen aside a general idea of an overarching story so any suggestions of events are appreciated. Also should Bob A) Try and fool the changeling B)Try and kill it C)Try and escape the changeling and warn the guards D)Try and escape the castle Will make the story work with whatever you readers chose PLS tell me if you hate/love/or dont care about the story and if you spot mistakes Chapter 2//Canterlot Dungeons\ "Who sent you mutt?" An angry changeling in golden armor asked for the 5th time as he punched Bob in the face for the 10th time. "OW. Will you just.OW. Stop. OW for a.OW second and listen." Bob pleaded as his restraints kept him in place on one of the walls of the cell he was now in. It was a little surprising that the guard carrying him was a changeling since Bob was too occupied with future plans and keeping his story believable to notice that the guards magic smelled different than a ponie's. "OK now tell me who sent you and how do you know about the invasion ?" The changeling said as its wings buzzed and its hoof was raised over Bob's face ready to come down if Bob didn't comply. "Who sent me? Who sent me?" Come on brain think and make it believable. Bob thought as the changeling looked taken aback from the high and mighty tone Bob was using." Chrysalis sent me you stupid bug so you'd better release me right now." Bob finally said before the changelings hoof came crashing down on his face "Ow" "That's Queen Chrysalis and why would I believe that the Queen would send somelling never mind a dog to sabotage the invasion she herself planned?" The changeling spoke grinding its hoof with each word into Bob's swollen face. "Uuuh" Bob said in pain while he tried to think of a reason. "She found out that the ponies have a spell to detect changeling magic so she sent me to disrupt the ponies efforts and keep them from searching for the spell in their libraries?" Bob said with hope in his voice as he closed his eyes while the hoof was raised above his head again. "Yeah? And what can you a dog do that a changeling infiltrator cant?" The changeling said as he lowered his hoof. "Well I can convince them that I can smell changelings making their spell unneeded as they would think the castle is safe from invasion. I can also gain their trust a lot easier since they think I wouldn't lie to them with the threat of them killing me looming over my head. Which would make it a lot easier for me to take out one of the princesses when the invasion begins. Now you will release me and bring me some gems and something to drink or I might consider actually helping the ponies." Bob said each word with more confidence and finished with a smile. "Oh so you will help the ponies if I don't do as you say. And why shouldn't I just kill you right now and not risk the invasion?" The changeling said with venom in its voice. "Because If you kill me now your Queen will have to face off 2 alicorns when the invasion comes not to mention that your guard disguise will be thrown out of the guard for disobeying Celestia's ruling and Celestia and Luna will without a doubt believe that I was telling the truth and find the spell that detects changeling magic making the invasion an almost guaranteed failure." Bob said with a lot of smugness. " Now free me and go and get me some food I have to figure out which alicorn I should target and how to go about it." The Changeling just stared at Bob for a while before it smirked. "Sorry mutt I have to keep my disguise and all that I cant very well disobey the drill instructor's orders just because you told me so. So you just stay and I am sure my replacement will take care of your little food issue." The changeling said as he was engulfed into flames and a few moments later a day guard unicorn exited the cell where Bob was still tied up. //Lunar wing of the castle\ Root Shield stood before one of the corridors connecting the Solar and Lunar wings of the castle looking nervously at the shadows that seemed to become darker the closer they were to the Lunar wing. "Ok Root you can do this. Just go in tell princess Luna and find where the dog is so I can go finish my shift in peace. I mean I have a message for the princess so surely those bats will let me pass right? Right." Root said to himself as he made his way to the Lunar wing. As soon as he stepped into the Lunar wing he was tackled to the ground as a thestral that was hiding in the shadows jumped on Roots back and placed her fangs to his throat . "Fu awe u? Ah wat do wu walt?" The thestral said muffled as her fangs were around Root's throat and her snout was pressed against Root's neck. "What? C-can you maybe repeat that when your snout isn't muffled?" The thestral growled but moved her snout and fangs slightly further from Root's neck. "Who are you? And what do you want daywalker?" The thestral repeated angrily. "Um Recruit Root Shield and I am here to tell princess Luna that she needs to order one of her guards to watch over a Diamond dog prisoner we captured for the night shifts in the foreseeable future." Root said hesitantly as the thestrals fangs got closer to tearing into him with each word. Then she pulled away and started speaking in outrage. "The sun tyrant thinks she can have her lackeys order the lunar goddess what she must do? Even after the goddess saved her life from what would have been a righteous execution for all the evil she has done. And on top of all that you though you could disturb the Lunar goddess's rest by coming at a time when the sun is still in the sky. You will walk and wait with me for Princess Luna to awaken and then you will confess your sins. And when the Princess sees how disrespectful the sun tyrant is she will let us finally end this farce and end the evil that is the sun tyrant." The thestral said maniacally. "Now go where my wing points and don't make any sound there are still a few hours before the princess will awaken. If you don't try anything funny I might even consider asking the lunar goddess not to kill you." The bat pony said as her fangs found their way back around Root's throat and one of her leathery wings pointed forward in front of Root. "I-I still have to fi..." Root began but was stopped as he felt a drop of blood or drool go down his neck from where the fangs were. Then the wing curled and hit him in the snout before it returned to pointing forward. Gulping Root started going forward. Luna woke up relaxed and rested and this bliss lasted for a whole of 25 seconds before she caught the sound of a crying and whimpering pony outside her door. She really loved the fact that the thestrals loved her and appreciated her night in their own ways but Luna had thought that after she talked down the bat ponies into only thoroughly searching maids and butlers and having ordered that day guards are not to be attacked that this would stop happening. So she took a deep breath exhaled and opened the door to her chamber. "I-I didn't move you just started falling asleep and then fell from my back so please put that dagger away." Root shield said as the thestral looked at him then he heard the doors to Princess Luna's chambers opening. "And I am telling you that you obviously did something daywalker. There is no way I would fall asleep now tell the truth or I am not going to wait for the Lunar goddess to decide your fate. "Uh-Um" Luna cleared her throat getting the thestral's attention. "Captain Night Shade is there a reason thou are threatening a day guard in front of mine courters even after we explicitly ordered not to?" Luna asked she wasn't mad more like annoyed that she had to apparently repeat her orders again and again lest her guards break them. "I Uh that is. He came here under the authority of the sun tyrant thinking he could order you what to do and what your guards should do." Night Shade said pointing at Root Shield as if she was a scolded child trying to get someone else to take the blame. "Shall we not show the sun tyrant that these insults will not stand goddess?" "We do not appreciate having our sister called a tyrant captain. Now let us hear it day guard. What dids our sister thell thee to do?" Luna asked noticing a trail of blood going down the day guards neck. "Um that is to say princess Luna there is a diamond dog prisoner and princess Celestia has ordered that he is to be under constant watch with day guards taking the day shift and one of your guards taking the night shift." Root said a bit more relieved but still nervous. "We see. Well then Night Shade this day guard will show you where this dog is and thou will not cause any more trouble or we shall forbid thee from participating in the nightly flight for a week."Luna said sternly. "But you can't goddess that is a sacred ritual that is in honor of.." Night Shade's retort died in her mouth as she saw Luna's unwavering face." Yes princess" She finally said. "And thou day guard. Thou shall show Night Shadow where this prisoner is kept while we go and speak with our sister on the matter?" Luna asked although with her volume it sounded like an order. "Y-Yes." Root said as he straightened out. Realizing he might have to work overtime to find where the dog is. "Very well then see to it." Luna said as she used her magic to clean Rood of his blood heal him and finally teleport him and Night to one of the halls connecting the Lunar and Solar parts of the castle. "Now lets see why our sister decided twas a good idea to take dogs prisoners." Luna said to herself as she used her magic to teleport to the Royal dining hall. Author's Note Was supposed to be longer but I am going on a forced trip without my laptop so it was either this or 2 weeks with nothing. At least the next chapter is started for when I get back from the trip. Hope you enjoy and comment on anything that you want really chapter 3//Royal dining hall\ "Sister what were thee thinking? Taking diamond dogs as prisoners? T'Would only serve to waste funds from the treasury and what's more thee dids this without our knowledge." Luna said in a voice that would scare most ponies but princess Celestia knew was a façade. Not that it really mater as Celestia was tired and did not appreciate being questioned in such a manner. "Yes and good evening to you too Luna did you sleep well? Why thank you for asking how was my day how about you sit down and we can talk about it while we eat?" Celestia said in a monotone voice as she used her magic to put Luna on a chair despite Luna's struggling against the unexpected movement. "Unhoof us sister we are not a foal thee can just move around when it gets underhoof." Luna protested to a slightly smirking Celestia as just a few months prior Luna was in fact in the body of a foal and tried using the same argument. But then she remembered Bob and her smirk disappeared as her magic fizzled out. "Ok Luna enough foaling around lets talk about the dog. At first I thought this would be an easy trial. Execute the dog make the ponies happy but then the dog surprised me by spouting something about a treaty between dogs and ponies." Celestia began "But no such treaty exists sister surely thou were not fooled by such obvious lies?" Luna interrupted hesitantly. "They may exist. The dog did cite the names of the last leaders of the 3 tribes as the ones who sighed the treaties. But even if they did exist and we were in the wrong I would have killed the dog after all they did take an element bearer if something was to happen to Rarity the whole of Equestria might be in danger. But then that dog started talking again and he spoke of some creatures called chanegelings that the dogs were keeping from attacking. You should have heard it Luna he sounded as sure that these changelings are preparing for an attack as I am that the sun will rise." Celestia said with a little worry creeping in her voice. "So thee wish for us to interrogate the dog into telling us all that he knows of this potential enemy? And thee are sure the dog dids not merely lie to save its skin?" Luna asked disbelievingly. "No I do not believe violence will work with this one. I could see he had already had everything of value taken from him. I think you should try and befriend him he already hates and fears me for ordering the killing of his pack. He didn't even give me his real name he claimed to be called Bob but it was an obvious lie. " Celestia said with a slight smirk. "Sister we told thee time and again we can and will find friends on our own. And besides we hardly think that a dog would be much of a conversationalist. Then again perchance we could use the dog to scare off our nephew from pestering us with his constant petitioning." Luna said as she smiled mischievously. "On second thought perhaps you could just enter the dogs dreams and get the information like that." Celestia said nervously as she realized that her sisters plan had a potential of driving Blueblood back into day court petitions. "We suppose we should use some dream walking to ensure this dog is not lying or mad but it is unreliable for getting precise information. Yes we think we shall start looking into this matter tonight. Please do convey our apologies to our nephew." Luna said to a horrified looking Celestia before their meals arrived and the two sisters spoke of what was happening and potential ways to re-integrate the bat ponies into the general public. When they finished eating Luna rose the moon and headed to the throne room as Celestia lowered the sun and went to bed. //Throne Room\ "Guard are there any petitioners for our court this eve?" Luna asked as she appeared on top of the throne in the throne room. "Yes my goddess there are two thestral couples who seek your blessing for their union a griffin seeking your aid. Finally the daywalker the sun tyrant claims is related to you is back yet again. No doubt intend on annoying you with his petty complaints. Shall I inform him that he is not welcome and that if he shall dare to approach you again we shall smite him down like the pathetic foal that he is?" The guard said loosing his temper and sounding as a war general preparing his troops for a final stand. "We... No please inform the thestrals that we shall be happy to bless their union but we require no less than a week to familiarize ourselves with the ceremonies. They are free to return in a weeks time or seek another to preside over their unions. Inform our nephew that we do not have time for him as we are getting reacquainted with the laws and how they have changed in our absence. Also inform him that he should take any complaints and suggestions to our sister. Finally tell the griffin that he may come in or wait outside for a half hour as we shall be busy dealing with situation that requires our unique skill." Luna said after some deliberation on whether or not letting her guard kill her nephew was a good idea or not. "Understood princess." The night guard said as he saluted and went to do as he was told while Luna's horn glowed and then her head fell down as she began to sleep while standing upright. //Dream Realm-Bob's dream\ The first thing that Luna noticed was the smell of burning flesh the second was screams as diamond dogs and ponies fought and killed each other. She ignored both and concentrated on finding the center of the dream. She soon saw the diamond dog and as she got closer her regalia was changed into the armor of a day guard so that she would better fit in with the dream. Usually she would immediately reverse this but as Ddog's dreams were different than a ponies she did not wish to risk waking the dog up and wished to see how it felt as this was clearly a recreation of what had happened. As she approached Bob Luna saw tree images each on top of the others one had Bob charge the guards that had surrounded him and getting himself impaled on their spears the second image had Bob pretending to surrender before he killed a guard and was then killed once again by the other guards the third image was him peacefully surrendering and allowing himself to be tied up. To Luna this was strange as this was a memory and not a choice that the dog was making now. She finally decided that this was either regret or the dog second guessing his decisions. Something she herself had done many times in regards to Nightmare Moon. She concentrated her magic and solidified the 3rd oprion making the other two fade into nothing then the scene changed to the throne room. Luna watched a flaming version of her sister with hatred burning in Celestia eyes as she asked the tied up dog "What is your name?" Luna saw the firs image say that its name was Bob and knowing from her sister that that was a lie her curiosity got the better of her and she made the second image solidify before she saw what it was. "Jugenmujugenmugokonosurikekaijarisugesugematsufunfaimatsufuraimatsukurunetokoronisumiyapparikojiyapparikojibaibobaibobaiboshuringashuringanugurindaigurindainobomborinobombonanojoukyuunechousuke-San" The dog said in one breath without hesitation. As Luna stood dumbstruck by the unique name the dream version of Celestia responded to the name as if it was completely normal. "Oh what a coincidence for you see my name is also Jugenmujugenmugokonosurikekaijarisugesugematsufunfaimatsufuraimatsukurunetokoronisumiyapparikojiyapparikojibaibobaibobaiboshuringashuringanugurindaigurindainobomborinobombonanojoukyuunechousuke-San" Celestia said with a straight face making Luna stare at the image of her sister and not notice that Bob was looking around confused until he noticed Luna in day guard armor smirked and turned back to Celestia. "Ah that would be a problem but you are already dead." The dog said as his voice became deeper with each word. "What?" Dream Celestia asked before she bloated and exploded into a gory mess all over the throne room including the terrified Luna who had forgotten this was a dream due to the horrifying sight of her sister exploding her guts all over her. Luna then watched unmoving as the dog casually walked up to throne sat down on her sisters corpse as if it were a char cushion and turned to her. "You are guilty of entering my mind without permission Luna. Leave and never return or I shall make you truly regret it." The dog said calmly to the sobbing Luna who was so overcome with the dream she didn't realize it was a dream or even hear what Bob had said. The dream soon disappeared making Luna awaken sobbing. //Throne Room\ Luna was sleeping much to the annoyance of the griffin who was sent to ask for help since the griffons were struggling to survive after the recent death of their leader and the loss of their Idol. The griffin watched as the alicorn slept for 20 minutes all the while walking around the room and enjoying the view from the many windows in the throne room. Then suddenly the Princess awoke with a face of pure rage plastered on her face. "BOOOOOB" Luna yelled with such volume and hatered that it shoved everyone in the throne room to the nearest wall and broke all the windows. Her voice also managed to wake up everybody in the castle. After this shout she looked around confused. "WHere are thee hiding thee coward. Come and meet thy end." Luna continued to shout in her non royal voice before she turned into shadows and shot trough the doors of the throne room searching for Bob still not realizing it was just a dream. The griffin slowly got up still disoriented and dizzy from what just happened and then decided it would be better if the griffins asked one of their less violent neighbors for aid like the Minoutaurs who had a very good mercenary driven economy. Then he hastily flew out of a broken window. Celestia had taken a long relaxing hot bath and was about to lay down for the night when her room shook as if there was an earthquake . And honestly she would have preferred that as it was her sister screaming the fake name of the dog. Celestia would have left her deal with the situation. But she heard such malice and hatred in her sister's voice she knew she had to stop Luna before she had a resurgence of Nightmare Moon on her goofs. So with a degegted sigh Celestia concentrated on locating where there was a big gathering of mana as that's where Luna would most likely be. And then she teleported not even acknowledging the guards that had just rushed in or thinking on the fact that Luna was in the dungeon and the dog was supposed to be in an unused ambasator room and Celestia had even said that torture would likely yeald poor results. //Canterlot Dungeons\ "Feel our pain and let us hear thy howls of regret!!" was the firs thing Celestia heard as she materialized behind Luna who had taken on the form of Nightmare Moon. This was shortly followed by the sound of breaking bones and the pained howls of Bob. "Luna?" Celestia asked hesitantly as she was almost sure that Bob was somehow an agent of Nightmare Moon this whole time. After all it would explain why he was intelligent despite being a Diamond Dog. This was apparently the wrong thing to say as Nightmare Moon turned to smoke and reformed staring intensely at Celestia. This lasted for a mere minute but it could have been an eternity as far as the royal sisters were concerned. "Sister!" Luna finally shouted as she jumped hoofs firs in an attempt to hug her thought to be dead sister. "AAaaaah!" Celestia screamed breaking her stone faced mask as the image of Nightmare Moon attacked her. In this moment of panic the sun goddess used her magic to repeatedly slam Nightmare Moon into the dungeons floor causing tremors with each slam. This continued until Nightmare Moon stopped twitching and was observed by a terrified Bob and from outside the cell a shell shocked Night Shade. "Sun Tyrant you will pay for this!" Night Shade screamed as she realized what just happened before she jumped on Celestia and cut her back while Celestia just started to realize what just happened. Then Celestia radiated enough heat from her wound to melt the blade making Night Shade jump back. "Luna?" Celestia asked as she poked the body of her sister ignoring the pained screams of Bob or the attacking thestral. "Stay away from the Moon goddess Tyrant." Shade screamed as she saw Celestia poking Luna. She just had to make sure the tyrant didn't hurt Luna anymore just a bit longer. After all there was enough poison on her blade to kill a fully grown dragon surely it would be enough to deal with the sun tyrant. "Luna wake up! Come on Luna this isn't funny. Just show me you are still okay. Please?" Celestia said as she slowly picked up the unmoving form of her sister. After a few shakes Celestia resorted to trying to listen for a pulse but the constant screaming of the Diamond Dog prevented her from hearing anything so she used her magic to stop air from moving around the dogs head. Then Celestia heard it and relief washed over her before her magic began to fizzle and her vision became fuzzy. Than she fell unconscious still hugging Luna's unconscious body and the last thing she heard was the blasted screaming of that dog. "Yes!" Night Shade cheered as she saw Celestia fall to the ground then she focused on the screaming dog." Ok doggy now just relax and I will make all the pain go away." Shade said as she approached the dog and stabbed him with a needle all the while grinning from ear to ear. Shade was very happy. She had just single hofedly saved princess Luna from the sun tyrant and downed said tyrant.To top it all off she managed to stabilize the prisoner who she knew for a fact had yet to give up any vital information thanks to her habit of east dropping . All she had to do now was go and get a contingent of guards to help her carry the princess and the two new prisoners back to the Lunar wing. "Don't move bat." Shade heard breaking her of her happy mood as she saw no less than 30 guards in gold armor both unicorns and pegasai charging and flying towards her. "Buuuck." She screamed as she got out a bunch of throwing needles from the inside of her armor and threw them at the guards. Some landed hits but most hit armor then some of the pegasai and unicorns started to drop to the ground as the they fell unconscious from the poison that was on the needles. "Don't forget she can eat magic don't let her fangs touch you or your magic fields." One of the unicorns shouted to the remaining 6 pegasai and 4 unicorn guards that were still charging and flying. Shade charged unwilling to give up but due to her sword being destroyed she only managed to knock out 2 of the unicorns the one that shouted during the charge and was distracted and didn't notice the hoof to the face and another who tried to cast a spell which Shade stopped with a bite to the tip of the horn. She was then dog piled by four pegasai before she was forced to stay still as the 2 remaining unicorns floated swords on her throat and neck. She was finally knocked unconscious by one of the two remaining pegasai drop kicking her with his golden shoe. Author's Note I think I might have writen myself into a situation where Bob would have no believable reason to help the sisters other than him being a brony and knowing about things to come. So a question to you the readers. Will the sisters useing a reformation spell be believable or should I have them pass the job to Blue Blood as Bob doesn't know him as far as they know and then when tings fail have Blue Blood use the spell? P.S.:There is a reason I am tormenting my charecters I need Bob to stop seeing Equestria trough rose colored glasses and develop a deep seeted hatred for Equestria and how things are run there for a potential sequel that takes place after the Dog gets out of Equestria. Chapter 5//Dreamscape - Celestia\ "AAAAAAA" Celestia heard as she stood behind Nightmare Moon in the next moment Nightmare turned somehow not revealing the poor soul she had been torturing. "Your evil ends here Nightmare surrender now and I wont hurt you." Celestia said as the elements started floating around her. "Never our night shall last forever." Nightmare shouted as she shot a magic beam at Celestia that hit the elements making them crumble. "Noo.What have you done?" Celestia demanded but during her tirade Nightmare had jumped towards her. In the last moment Celestia used her magic to grab Nightmare and then beat her up using the room the two were in. "Monster.""She is Evil." Celestia heard in the next moment from a bunch of ponies that had appeared out of nowhere and were now surrounding her. Then she looked back to where Nightmare used to be only to be met with the filly form of her sister only her hoofs were bent the wrong way she wasn't moving and her horn was broken. "No I didn't mean to. It was Nightmare Moon. I had to protect everypony." Celestia started to shout as she got closer to her sisters body. Her words only succeeded in having the voices starting to shout out "Liar." in addition the other insults. Then in the next moment Celestia was standing behind Nightmare Moon as she heard the scream of some unfortunate soul. Celestia now knew this was her illusion. She knew that standing in front of her was her beloved sister she would never wish to harm. "Your evil ends here Nightmare surrender now and I wont hurt you." Celestia heard her voice say as the elements started floating around her despite her not wanting them to. Then everything kept repeating over and over. //Dreamscape - Bob\ "AAAAAAA" Bob screamed in horror as he saw his paws bend in unnatural ways before they turned to ash and disappeared all together as his scream became muted and everything went black. Then in the next moment he could see again and saw his paws in front of him beginning to bend unnaturally as Luna in her Nightmare Moon form stood in front of him. He tried not to scream realizing that this was all a dream and most likely some sort of sick payback for him killing Celestia in his dreams to teach her not to spy on him. However it didn't work. Then seeing that he would be forced to just wait this torture out after the 4th repeat Bob ignored the pain as best he could and focused on his future plans provided he isn't killed. //Dreamscape -Luna\ "And begin." Luna heard Starswirl shout out and immediately started channeling an offencive spell with her eyes closed. She was then promptly hit in the face by Starswirl's hoof before she was hit by a spell from Starswirl. "Wrong again Luna you must learn to predict your opponent and act accordingly if you are to achieve victory in one of our spars. Now we don't have anymore time for spars as I and my colleagues must investigate some shadow pony that has been causing a ruckus. That having been said I expect a 6000 word essay on the benefits and drawbacks of the magic of each tribe pertaining to combat and inform Celestia that she is to help with spars in my absence and I expect and essay from her on the importance of holding back." Luna had a vision of Starswirl not returning if he left now. "No Don't "Luna started to say but was zapped by a lightning bolt from Starswirl's horn. "Also I expect the essays you and your sister owe me on modern Equestrian Language and culture."Starswirl said before he crumbled to dust and everything became darkness. It was at this moment that Luna fully understood that this was a dream. And a few seconds later she realized that this was her dream and that the Tantabus that was supposed to make her relive her fall at the hands on the elements was nowhere to be found. Thinking fast Luna used her magic to get out of her dream and was met with a strange door that was the merged dreams of her sister and diamond dog if the odd claw markings on half the door were anything to go by. She immediately used her magic to go in believing that the tantabus was inside and somehow responsible for this. The first thing Luna noticed was pain and fact that her hoofs were all bend in unnatural ways. Then she heard the voices of ponies shouting."Liar""Monster.""She is Evil.". At first Luna thought they were shouting at her but then she felt something wet fall on her muzzle and as she looked up she saw her sister crying. Then in the next moment Luna no longer felt the pain of her hoofs being bent backwards and she saw before her the form of Bob. Luna heard her own voice before she saw her magic shoot towards Celestia and hitting the elements making them crumble. "Noo.What have you done?" Celestia demanded but during her tirade Luna's body had jumped towards Celestia. In the last moment Celestia used her magic to grab Luna and then beat her up using the room the two were in. "Monster.""She is Evil." Luna heard in the next moment from a bunch of ponies that had appeared out of nowhere and were now surrounding them. Then she felt her hoofs bent backwards as she felt intense pain . "No I didn't mean to. It was Nightmare Moon. I had to protect everypony." Celestia started to shout as she got closer to her Luna who was unable to move. Then the voices stated also calling Celestia a liar and everything repeated. After the first 2 repeats Luna could completely ignore the pain and after 20 she finally managed to find out where in the dream the tantabus was hiding and gather enough magic to capture it and remove it from the dream then she used what was left of her magic to force the dream to end. Author's Note That dream chapter that nobody wants but I still write becouse I enjoy making my story charecters suffer. But is actually a way of building up regret in Luna so she doesn't flat out kill Bob when next he messes up. World Building (A.K.A. all the headcanons of the story)Bellow is every creature in the universe of the story that has a kingdom or at least a society and their magical gifts. (Note: The bellow are just what magic gives/enhances in the species not all their skills/abilities ) Unicorn: Capable of channeling mana from within them trough their horns to make various effects on the world around them. Earth Pony: Passively channel their mana trough their hooves to increase the growth of plants in addition their regeneration is slightly faster than other ponies. Pegasus: Weather manipulation and flight by using their mana Bat Pony: Able to fly, suck in mana trough their fangs and see at night unable to weather manipulate.(They were created by unicorns using dark magic on pegasai so they can escape the Solar Tyrant after the fall of Luna. Even though Celestia isn't a tyrant and Nightmare moon did happen.) Crystal Pony:They are extremely durable and heat/cold resistant Capable of sustaining themselves on water and gems and their magic makes crystals and other gems really slowly grow in size . (Created by ponies using magic to adapt to the windigo winter rather than move.) They can be earth pony/pegasi or unicorn but are most commonly earth pony. They are incapable of using their magic to fly weather manipulate channel their magic to change the world around them or to make crops grow. DDogs: Sharper claws and they have adapted into using their magic to sense the world around them passively allowing them to see magic when its used around them.(This is mostly a development from hunting magical creatures like the cockatrice that could kill them with magic while being physically unintimidating.) Changelings: Can change their form on the molecular level use magic and fly and manipulate weather. Griffins: Can fly and are extremely cold resistant any weather manipulation they do is temporary Dragons: Magic resistant, Hardened scales, Fire breath, Flight, extreme heat resistance and size growth( Yeah they are OP) Kajit or cat people: Can jump really high and see magic like DDogs Sea pony/Hyppogrif: they have the ability to switch between underwater and Arial forms gaining either the ability to breathe under water or fly and weather manipulation on the griffin level Buffalo: Hardened skin and can survive without water for months Yacks: Hardened horns and have extreme cold resistance Minotaur: Innate senesce of direction being able to find their way to a place they have been to before trough looking at the night sky and they have hardened horns Zebra: Capable of channeling their mana trough their fur causing an illusion of their stripes moving which either disorientates or causes seizures depending on how many zebra's are doing it Desert horses: Capable of going without water for months and are heat resistant Centaur:Capable of draining magic and its physical strength is increased by its mana pool A fun fact: Ponies are racist due to pretty much every species either using them as food or slaves at one point or another in the past when slavery wasn't outlawed. Due to a dragon hatchling being made a slave and the dragons destroying a few towns in retaliation slavery is now illegal world wide. A few major events that happened: Celestia banished Luna shortly after the two sisters were given ruling power by the leaders of the 3 tribes. The tribe leaders saw this as Celestia going power crazy and immediately resorted to researching dark magic in hope of finding a way to defeat/escape Celestia. Some time later while researching they discovered the prophecy of Nightmare's return. With this new knowledge they came up with a brilliant plan they imbued some 500 pegasai with dark magic told them what Celestia did to her own sister just to gain power and send them to either make an army or find help and come back to dethrone Celestia on the night of Luna's return. (And maybe Luna would take one of their descendants and rule along side him.) And so the Thestrals or bat ponies came to be. Upon the night of Luna's return the thestrals came with an army of 1000 during the years to ensure that their decedents would fulfill their duties the thestrals turned Luna into a goddess that had sacrificed herself so that they could escape Celestia who was essentially a demon that wanted all to worship her so that she would gain enough power to burn the entire world. They also had some nifty rituals like drinking until you start to lose balance and then throwing round stones at each other or snowballs(It has to be round like the moon doesn't mater what it is) And also flying in a circle every night when the moon is fullest.(you know odd religious things.) So anyways they came armed and ready to defeat Celestia and rescue Luna but they knew they weren't a match for Celestia so they decided to take all her most devoted worshippers(Her guards) captive and exchange them for Luna then once Luna has recovered they would attack again and put an end to the Sun Tyrant's tyranny. It was a great plan and it was working perfectly up until Celestia came to her throne room to the sight of all her day guards bruised and tied up and surrounded by bat ponies. She would have gone into a rampage but the bat pony leader's demand that she release their goddess stopped her in her tracks. In Celestia's moment of confusion filly Luna showed up on her back and the thestrals promptly tackled Celestia and began to take Luna away, Surprised by Celestia's weakness the bat pony leader decided that he could kill Celestia and charged only for filly Luna to blast everyone to the walls with the Royal voice. Some explanation later and Luna has 1000 soldiers trying to protect her while the royal guards are forced out of their barracks for being day walkers and the thestrals have essentially agreed to not kill Celestia so long as they are allowed to protect Luna. Also they essentially took over Canterlot castle and gave back half of it thanks to Luna asking them. I only wrote the creatures with societies becouse every 2nd creature is inteligent and it would take a lot of time writeing them all and not even all the creatures here are guaranteed to make an apearance in the story.(Crystal ponies will not since the story takes place between A dog and a pony show and season 2 finale)
Chapter 1//Throne Room\ "You shall remain in the castle and aid our forces with every bit of information you have about the changelings. You shall have two guards one day and one night they shall be with you at all times. If the changeling threat comes to pass you shall be pardoned off all crimes and receive whatever compensation you deem needed before you are banished to a neighboring country of your choice. If however there is no invasion of changelings within the next 5 years you shall be bound and publically executed your body shall remain rotting until the crows devour it as testament to what shall befall all who try to deceive me. Guards take mister BOB to a guest chamber and inform the night guard that one of them is to be assigned to the Diamond Dog also inform Shining Armor to assign a day guard." And so it was that Bob having heard his sentence was levitated outside the throne room by Iron Hide and promptly handed off to another guard. "You door guard. You are to take this mutt and put him in a room he is not to leave your sight. I need to go see captain Armor about reassigning some guard to him permanently." -The door guard levitated the dog in his green magic before the first guard.( Its at this point that Bob should have noticed the magic aura and tried to speak up or do something but he was too preoccupied wondering if Chrysalis's attack is in more than 5 years and if he can figure out a way to escape or at least convince Celestia he was telling the truth so she would just declare him innocent give him the money and let him go. Heck he completely lied about the pack and about their slaves not being ponies so he was pretty happy that his human knowledge saved his life after being the reason he was almost clawed to death when he was a pup.) "Um sir isn't this the dog from that burrow we got? Why didn't the princess just kill him and be done with it?" The soldier asked perplexed. "Because guard the mutt convinced the princess that we are under threat of being attacked by something called changeling and the mutt claims he knows how to fight them. Now go do what I told you or I will have you running laps around the castle until your next shift." Iron Hide said despising the fact a lower ranked guard dared to question him regardless how odd the situation. "I swear first it was those testrals now a dog. What's next? Griffin ambassadors being allowed rooms in the castle. What is the princess even thinking?" Iron Hide muttered to himself as he left to find Shining Armor. All the while not noticing the frozen in place guard. "Hey newbie chill that's just Iron Hide making treats he won't follow up on any of them unless he knows your name and I am pretty sure he doesn't." The other door guard said snapping the first from his thoughts. "Ha ha yeah well I got ta go put this mutt in a cell .You heard the orders." the first guard said with a nervous smile. "Wait didn't Iron just tell you to take him to a room?" The second guard asked confused. "Well the dog is tied up and I am supposed to watch him and we aren't allowed in the guest rooms so he obviously meant for me to take him to the dungeons." The first guard said now visibly sweating. "....Yeah I can see that." the second guard finally said with a shrug as the first one visibly relaxed and left running. "Heh Newbies always trying to work hard never realizing their shift wont end any sooner." The second guard said to himself in the empty hallway. //Day wing of the castle -Shining's office\ Iron Hide walked into Shining's office without knocking. "So Iron is the princess going to help us retake our barracks?" Shining asked a little ticked that Iron didn't knock. "What? Oh uh I haven't asked her yet but more importantly-" Iron began to say but was interrupted by a furious Shining. "More importantly! More importantly! Listen here Drill instructor Hide I went on a 1 month mandatory vacation thinking you and the other guards can hold things in check while I was away. Only to come back to a foreign force occupying half the castle including our training grounds, my sister being a pawn in the princesses schemes and being ordered to remain in the most dangerous town in Equestria where she was forced to deal with dragons, griffons, zebras and most reacently diamond dogs. I gave you one task. ONE! Go to the princess during court and request we be allowed to re-take the training grounds or at least some sort of agreement is reached where we can use them to train our guards. You were allowed to skip watch so that you could do just that so explain to me what is so important that you can skip doing your job drill instructor Hide?" Shining finished throbbing at the mouth while staring at a backing away Iron Hide. "U-um the P-Princess ordered me to have the diamond dog we captured to a guest chamber and have you assign a day guard to him as well as have one of the bat ponies watch him during the night. Apparently he has some information about a potential threat and the princess has decided to pardon him in exchange for the information." Shining couldn't believe his ears he and the guards had finally been able to do their job by whipping out the evil dogs and now the one dog they had captured to be sentenced for the crimes and be publically executed was going to go free and potentially capture more ponies. In this moment something broke in him. "AAAAAAAAAAAAH" Shining screemed as he knocked Iron Hide into the door with enough magic force to break the door and send both Iron and the door crashing into the wall in the corridor. Iron fell unconscious shortly after with a few broken ribs. "Is everything alright captain?" Root Shield one of the new recruits and currently the only earth pony in the royal guards asked as he poked his head trough the hole that was once the door he was tasked with guarding. What he saw inside was Shining taking in big gulps of air and letting them out slowly as he moved one of his hoves in a relaxing manner . "Oh. Yes and you are just the pony I wanted. You go to princess Luna and tell her that princess Celestia has requested one of her night guards to watch the diamond dog we captured during the night you will be assigned watching the mutt during the day. Now if you'll excuse me I need to take Iron here to the medical ward and then go to the princess for my punishment for nearly killing a royal guard without provocation." Shining said in a monotone voice as he walked past Root and proceeded to levitate the unconscious form of Iron away leaving a speechless Root Shield behind. "Wait. What?" Root said to the empty hall as he realized he was tasked with going into the night wing of the castle and every day guard that went near left bruised regardless in they managed to get an audience with princess Luna. Author's Note I have no idea what is to happen aside a general idea of an overarching story so any suggestions of events are appreciated. Chapter 2//Canterlot Dungeons\ "Who sent you mutt?" An angry changeling in golden armor asked for the 5th time as he punched Bob in the face for the 10th time. "OW. Will you just.OW. Stop. OW for a.OW second and listen." Bob pleaded as his restraints kept him in place on one of the walls of the cell he was now in. It was a little surprising that the guard carrying him was a changeling since Bob was too occupied with future plans and keeping his story believable to notice that the guards magic smelled different than a ponie's. "OK now tell me who sent you and how do you know about the invasion ?" The changeling said as its wings buzzed and its hoof was raised over Bob's face ready to come down if Bob didn't comply. "Who sent me? Who sent me?" Come on brain think and make it believable. Bob thought as the changeling looked taken aback from the high and mighty tone Bob was using." Chrysalis sent me you stupid bug so you'd better release me right now." Bob finally said before the changelings hoof came crashing down on his face "Ow" "That's Queen Chrysalis and why would I believe that the Queen would send somelling never mind a dog to sabotage the invasion she herself planned?" The changeling spoke grinding its hoof with each word into Bob's swollen face. "Uuuh" Bob said in pain while he tried to think of a reason. "She found out that the ponies have a spell to detect changeling magic so she sent me to disrupt the ponies efforts and keep them from searching for the spell in their libraries?" Bob said with hope in his voice as he closed his eyes while the hoof was raised above his head again. "Yeah? And what can you a dog do that a changeling infiltrator cant?" The changeling said as he lowered his hoof. "Well I can convince them that I can smell changelings making their spell unneeded as they would think the castle is safe from invasion. I can also gain their trust a lot easier since they think I wouldn't lie to them with the threat of them killing me looming over my head. Which would make it a lot easier for me to take out one of the princesses when the invasion begins. Now you will release me and bring me some gems and something to drink or I might consider actually helping the ponies." Bob said each word with more confidence and finished with a smile. "Oh so you will help the ponies if I don't do as you say. And why shouldn't I just kill you right now and not risk the invasion?" The changeling said with venom in its voice. "Because If you kill me now your Queen will have to face off 2 alicorns when the invasion comes not to mention that your guard disguise will be thrown out of the guard for disobeying Celestia's ruling and Celestia and Luna will without a doubt believe that I was telling the truth and find the spell that detects changeling magic making the invasion an almost guaranteed failure." Bob said with a lot of smugness. " Now free me and go and get me some food I have to figure out which alicorn I should target and how to go about it." The Changeling just stared at Bob for a while before it smirked. "Sorry mutt I have to keep my disguise and all that I cant very well disobey the drill instructor's orders just because you told me so. So you just stay and I am sure my replacement will take care of your little food issue." The changeling said as he was engulfed into flames and a few moments later a day guard unicorn exited the cell where Bob was still tied up. //Lunar wing of the castle\ Root Shield stood before one of the corridors connecting the Solar and Lunar wings of the castle looking nervously at the shadows that seemed to become darker the closer they were to the Lunar wing. "Ok Root you can do this. Just go in tell princess Luna and find where the dog is so I can go finish my shift in peace. I mean I have a message for the princess so surely those bats will let me pass right? Right." Root said to himself as he made his way to the Lunar wing. As soon as he stepped into the Lunar wing he was tackled to the ground as a thestral that was hiding in the shadows jumped on Roots back and placed her fangs to his throat . "Fu awe u? Ah wat do wu walt?" The thestral said muffled as her fangs were around Root's throat and her snout was pressed against Root's neck. "What? C-can you maybe repeat that when your snout isn't muffled?" The thestral growled but moved her snout and fangs slightly further from Root's neck. "Who are you? And what do you want daywalker?" The thestral repeated angrily. "Um Recruit Root Shield and I am here to tell princess Luna that she needs to order one of her guards to watch over a Diamond dog prisoner we captured for the night shifts in the foreseeable future." Root said hesitantly as the thestrals fangs got closer to tearing into him with each word. Then she pulled away and started speaking in outrage. "The sun tyrant thinks she can have her lackeys order the lunar goddess what she must do? Even after the goddess saved her life from what would have been a righteous execution for all the evil she has done. And on top of all that you though you could disturb the Lunar goddess's rest by coming at a time when the sun is still in the sky. You will walk and wait with me for Princess Luna to awaken and then you will confess your sins. And when the Princess sees how disrespectful the sun tyrant is she will let us finally end this farce and end the evil that is the sun tyrant." The thestral said maniacally. "Now go where my wing points and don't make any sound there are still a few hours before the princess will awaken. If you don't try anything funny I might even consider asking the lunar goddess not to kill you." The bat pony said as her fangs found their way back around Root's throat and one of her leathery wings pointed forward in front of Root. "I-I still have to fi..." Root began but was stopped as he felt a drop of blood or drool go down his neck from where the fangs were. Then the wing curled and hit him in the snout before it returned to pointing forward. Gulping Root started going forward. Luna woke up relaxed and rested and this bliss lasted for a whole of 25 seconds before she caught the sound of a crying and whimpering pony outside her door. She really loved the fact that the thestrals loved her and appreciated her night in their own ways but Luna had thought that after she talked down the bat ponies into only thoroughly searching maids and butlers and having ordered that day guards are not to be attacked that this would stop happening. So she took a deep breath exhaled and opened the door to her chamber. "I-I didn't move you just started falling asleep and then fell from my back so please put that dagger away." Root shield said as the thestral looked at him then he heard the doors to Princess Luna's chambers opening. "And I am telling you that you obviously did something daywalker. There is no way I would fall asleep now tell the truth or I am not going to wait for the Lunar goddess to decide your fate. "Uh-Um" Luna cleared her throat getting the thestral's attention. "Captain Night Shade is there a reason thou are threatening a day guard in front of mine courters even after we explicitly ordered not to?" Luna asked she wasn't mad more like annoyed that she had to apparently repeat her orders again and again lest her guards break them. "I Uh that is. He came here under the authority of the sun tyrant thinking he could order you what to do and what your guards should do." Night Shade said pointing at Root Shield as if she was a scolded child trying to get someone else to take the blame. "Shall we not show the sun tyrant that these insults will not stand goddess?" "We do not appreciate having our sister called a tyrant captain. Now let us hear it day guard. What dids our sister thell thee to do?" Luna asked noticing a trail of blood going down the day guards neck. "Um that is to say princess Luna there is a diamond dog prisoner and princess Celestia has ordered that he is to be under constant watch with day guards taking the day shift and one of your guards taking the night shift." Root said a bit more relieved but still nervous. "We see. Well then Night Shade this day guard will show you where this dog is and thou will not cause any more trouble or we shall forbid thee from participating in the nightly flight for a week."Luna said sternly. "But you can't goddess that is a sacred ritual that is in honor of.." Night Shade's retort died in her mouth as she saw Luna's unwavering face." Yes princess" She finally said. "And thou day guard. Thou shall show Night Shadow where this prisoner is kept while we go and speak with our sister on the matter?" Luna asked although with her volume it sounded like an order. "Y-Yes." Root said as he straightened out. Realizing he might have to work overtime to find where the dog is. "Very well then see to it." Luna said as she used her magic to clean Rood of his blood heal him and finally teleport him and Night to one of the halls connecting the Lunar and Solar parts of the castle. "Now lets see why our sister decided twas a good idea to take dogs prisoners." Luna said to herself as she used her magic to teleport to the Royal dining hall. Author's Note Was supposed to be longer but I am going on a forced trip without my laptop so it was either this or 2 weeks with nothing. chapter 3//Royal dining hall\ "Sister what were thee thinking? Taking diamond dogs as prisoners? T'Would only serve to waste funds from the treasury and what's more thee dids this without our knowledge." Luna said in a voice that would scare most ponies but princess Celestia knew was a façade. Not that it really mater as Celestia was tired and did not appreciate being questioned in such a manner. "Yes and good evening to you too Luna did you sleep well? Why thank you for asking how was my day how about you sit down and we can talk about it while we eat?" Celestia said in a monotone voice as she used her magic to put Luna on a chair despite Luna's struggling against the unexpected movement. "Unhoof us sister we are not a foal thee can just move around when it gets underhoof." Luna protested to a slightly smirking Celestia as just a few months prior Luna was in fact in the body of a foal and tried using the same argument. But then she remembered Bob and her smirk disappeared as her magic fizzled out. "Ok Luna enough foaling around lets talk about the dog. At first I thought this would be an easy trial. Execute the dog make the ponies happy but then the dog surprised me by spouting something about a treaty between dogs and ponies." Celestia began "But no such treaty exists sister surely thou were not fooled by such obvious lies?" Luna interrupted hesitantly. "They may exist. The dog did cite the names of the last leaders of the 3 tribes as the ones who sighed the treaties. But even if they did exist and we were in the wrong I would have killed the dog after all they did take an element bearer if something was to happen to Rarity the whole of Equestria might be in danger. But then that dog started talking again and he spoke of some creatures called chanegelings that the dogs were keeping from attacking. You should have heard it Luna he sounded as sure that these changelings are preparing for an attack as I am that the sun will rise." Celestia said with a little worry creeping in her voice. "So thee wish for us to interrogate the dog into telling us all that he knows of this potential enemy? And thee are sure the dog dids not merely lie to save its skin?" Luna asked disbelievingly. "No I do not believe violence will work with this one. I could see he had already had everything of value taken from him. I think you should try and befriend him he already hates and fears me for ordering the killing of his pack. He didn't even give me his real name he claimed to be called Bob but it was an obvious lie. " Celestia said with a slight smirk. "Sister we told thee time and again we can and will find friends on our own. And besides we hardly think that a dog would be much of a conversationalist. Then again perchance we could use the dog to scare off our nephew from pestering us with his constant petitioning." Luna said as she smiled mischievously. "On second thought perhaps you could just enter the dogs dreams and get the information like that." Celestia said nervously as she realized that her sisters plan had a potential of driving Blueblood back into day court petitions. "We suppose we should use some dream walking to ensure this dog is not lying or mad but it is unreliable for getting precise information. Yes we think we shall start looking into this matter tonight. Please do convey our apologies to our nephew." Luna said to a horrified looking Celestia before their meals arrived and the two sisters spoke of what was happening and potential ways to re-integrate the bat ponies into the general public. When they finished eating Luna rose the moon and headed to the throne room as Celestia lowered the sun and went to bed. //Throne Room\ "Guard are there any petitioners for our court this eve?" Luna asked as she appeared on top of the throne in the throne room. "Yes my goddess there are two thestral couples who seek your blessing for their union a griffin seeking your aid. Finally the daywalker the sun tyrant claims is related to you is back yet again. No doubt intend on annoying you with his petty complaints. Shall I inform him that he is not welcome and that if he shall dare to approach you again we shall smite him down like the pathetic foal that he is?" The guard said loosing his temper and sounding as a war general preparing his troops for a final stand. "We... No please inform the thestrals that we shall be happy to bless their union but we require no less than a week to familiarize ourselves with the ceremonies. They are free to return in a weeks time or seek another to preside over their unions. Inform our nephew that we do not have time for him as we are getting reacquainted with the laws and how they have changed in our absence. Also inform him that he should take any complaints and suggestions to our sister. Finally tell the griffin that he may come in or wait outside for a half hour as we shall be busy dealing with situation that requires our unique skill." Luna said after some deliberation on whether or not letting her guard kill her nephew was a good idea or not. "Understood princess." The night guard said as he saluted and went to do as he was told while Luna's horn glowed and then her head fell down as she began to sleep while standing upright. //Dream Realm-Bob's dream\ The first thing that Luna noticed was the smell of burning flesh the second was screams as diamond dogs and ponies fought and killed each other. She ignored both and concentrated on finding the center of the dream. She soon saw the diamond dog and as she got closer her regalia was changed into the armor of a day guard so that she would better fit in with the dream. Usually she would immediately reverse this but as Ddog's dreams were different than a ponies she did not wish to risk waking the dog up and wished to see how it felt as this was clearly a recreation of what had happened. As she approached Bob Luna saw tree images each on top of the others one had Bob charge the guards that had surrounded him and getting himself impaled on their spears the second image had Bob pretending to surrender before he killed a guard and was then killed once again by the other guards the third image was him peacefully surrendering and allowing himself to be tied up. To Luna this was strange as this was a memory and not a choice that the dog was making now. She finally decided that this was either regret or the dog second guessing his decisions. Something she herself had done many times in regards to Nightmare Moon. She concentrated her magic and solidified the 3rd oprion making the other two fade into nothing then the scene changed to the throne room. Luna watched a flaming version of her sister with hatred burning in Celestia eyes as she asked the tied up dog "What is your name?" Luna saw the firs image say that its name was Bob and knowing from her sister that that was a lie her curiosity got the better of her and she made the second image solidify before she saw what it was. "Jugenmujugenmugokonosurikekaijarisugesugematsufunfaimatsufuraimatsukurunetokoronisumiyapparikojiyapparikojibaibobaibobaiboshuringashuringanugurindaigurindainobomborinobombonanojoukyuunechousuke-San" The dog said in one breath without hesitation. As Luna stood dumbstruck by the unique name the dream version of Celestia responded to the name as if it was completely normal. "Oh what a coincidence for you see my name is also Jugenmujugenmugokonosurikekaijarisugesugematsufunfaimatsufuraimatsukurunetokoronisumiyapparikojiyapparikojibaibobaibobaiboshuringashuringanugurindaigurindainobomborinobombonanojoukyuunechousuke-San" Celestia said with a straight face making Luna stare at the image of her sister and not notice that Bob was looking around confused until he noticed Luna in day guard armor smirked and turned back to Celestia. "Ah that would be a problem but you are already dead." The dog said as his voice became deeper with each word. "What?" Dream Celestia asked before she bloated and exploded into a gory mess all over the throne room including the terrified Luna who had forgotten this was a dream due to the horrifying sight of her sister exploding her guts all over her. Luna then watched unmoving as the dog casually walked up to throne sat down on her sisters corpse as if it were a char cushion and turned to her. "You are guilty of entering my mind without permission Luna. Leave and never return or I shall make you truly regret it." The dog said calmly to the sobbing Luna who was so overcome with the dream she didn't realize it was a dream or even hear what Bob had said. The dream soon disappeared making Luna awaken sobbing. //Throne Room\ Luna was sleeping much to the annoyance of the griffin who was sent to ask for help since the griffons were struggling to survive after the recent death of their leader and the loss of their Idol. The griffin watched as the alicorn slept for 20 minutes all the while walking around the room and enjoying the view from the many windows in the throne room. Then suddenly the Princess awoke with a face of pure rage plastered on her face. "BOOOOOB" Luna yelled with such volume and hatered that it shoved everyone in the throne room to the nearest wall and broke all the windows. Her voice also managed to wake up everybody in the castle. After this shout she looked around confused. "WHere are thee hiding thee coward. Come and meet thy end." Luna continued to shout in her non royal voice before she turned into shadows and shot trough the doors of the throne room searching for Bob still not realizing it was just a dream. The griffin slowly got up still disoriented and dizzy from what just happened and then decided it would be better if the griffins asked one of their less violent neighbors for aid like the Minoutaurs who had a very good mercenary driven economy. Then he hastily flew out of a broken window. Chapter 4//Celestia's bedchaimbers\ It had been a long and exhausting day but now Celestia could finally rest easy knowing her sister would take care of the dog ,the Griffin that had disturbed day court and perhaps even appease Blooblood's temper without bankrupting Equestria. Celestia had taken a long relaxing hot bath and was about to lay down for the night when her room shook as if there was an earthquake . And honestly she would have preferred that as it was her sister screaming the fake name of the dog. Celestia would have left her deal with the situation. But she heard such malice and hatred in her sister's voice she knew she had to stop Luna before she had a resurgence of Nightmare Moon on her goofs. So with a degegted sigh Celestia concentrated on locating where there was a big gathering of mana as that's where Luna would most likely be. And then she teleported not even acknowledging the guards that had just rushed in or thinking on the fact that Luna was in the dungeon and the dog was supposed to be in an unused ambasator room and Celestia had even said that torture would likely yeald poor results. //Canterlot Dungeons\ "Feel our pain and let us hear thy howls of regret!!" was the firs thing Celestia heard as she materialized behind Luna who had taken on the form of Nightmare Moon. This was shortly followed by the sound of breaking bones and the pained howls of Bob. "Luna?" Celestia asked hesitantly as she was almost sure that Bob was somehow an agent of Nightmare Moon this whole time. After all it would explain why he was intelligent despite being a Diamond Dog. This was apparently the wrong thing to say as Nightmare Moon turned to smoke and reformed staring intensely at Celestia. This lasted for a mere minute but it could have been an eternity as far as the royal sisters were concerned. "Sister!" Luna finally shouted as she jumped hoofs firs in an attempt to hug her thought to be dead sister. "AAaaaah!" Celestia screamed breaking her stone faced mask as the image of Nightmare Moon attacked her. In this moment of panic the sun goddess used her magic to repeatedly slam Nightmare Moon into the dungeons floor causing tremors with each slam. This continued until Nightmare Moon stopped twitching and was observed by a terrified Bob and from outside the cell a shell shocked Night Shade. "Sun Tyrant you will pay for this!" Night Shade screamed as she realized what just happened before she jumped on Celestia and cut her back while Celestia just started to realize what just happened. Then Celestia radiated enough heat from her wound to melt the blade making Night Shade jump back. "Luna?" Celestia asked as she poked the body of her sister ignoring the pained screams of Bob or the attacking thestral. "Stay away from the Moon goddess Tyrant." Shade screamed as she saw Celestia poking Luna. She just had to make sure the tyrant didn't hurt Luna anymore just a bit longer. After all there was enough poison on her blade to kill a fully grown dragon surely it would be enough to deal with the sun tyrant. "Luna wake up! Come on Luna this isn't funny. Just show me you are still okay. Please?" Celestia said as she slowly picked up the unmoving form of her sister. After a few shakes Celestia resorted to trying to listen for a pulse but the constant screaming of the Diamond Dog prevented her from hearing anything so she used her magic to stop air from moving around the dogs head. Then Celestia heard it and relief washed over her before her magic began to fizzle and her vision became fuzzy. Than she fell unconscious still hugging Luna's unconscious body and the last thing she heard was the blasted screaming of that dog. "Yes!" Night Shade cheered as she saw Celestia fall to the ground then she focused on the screaming dog." Ok doggy now just relax and I will make all the pain go away." Shade said as she approached the dog and stabbed him with a needle all the while grinning from ear to ear. Shade was very happy. She had just single hofedly saved princess Luna from the sun tyrant and downed said tyrant.To top it all off she managed to stabilize the prisoner who she knew for a fact had yet to give up any vital information thanks to her habit of east dropping . All she had to do now was go and get a contingent of guards to help her carry the princess and the two new prisoners back to the Lunar wing. "Don't move bat." Shade heard breaking her of her happy mood as she saw no less than 30 guards in gold armor both unicorns and pegasai charging and flying towards her. "Buuuck." She screamed as she got out a bunch of throwing needles from the inside of her armor and threw them at the guards. Some landed hits but most hit armor then some of the pegasai and unicorns started to drop to the ground as the they fell unconscious from the poison that was on the needles. "Don't forget she can eat magic don't let her fangs touch you or your magic fields." One of the unicorns shouted to the remaining 6 pegasai and 4 unicorn guards that were still charging and flying. Shade charged unwilling to give up but due to her sword being destroyed she only managed to knock out 2 of the unicorns the one that shouted during the charge and was distracted and didn't notice the hoof to the face and another who tried to cast a spell which Shade stopped with a bite to the tip of the horn. She was then dog piled by four pegasai before she was forced to stay still as the 2 remaining unicorns floated swords on her throat and neck. She was finally knocked unconscious by one of the two remaining pegasai drop kicking her with his golden shoe. Author's Note I think I might have writen myself into a situation where Bob would have no believable reason to help the sisters other than him being a brony and knowing about things to come. So a question to you the readers. Will the sisters useing a reformation spell be believable or should I have them pass the job to Blue Blood as Bob doesn't know him as far as they know and then when tings fail have Blue Blood use the spell? P.S.:There is a reason I am tormenting my charecters I need Bob to stop seeing Equestria trough rose colored glasses and develop a deep seeted hatred for Equestria and how things are run there for a potential sequel that takes place after the Dog gets out of Equestria.
Chapter 5//Dreamscape - Celestia\ "AAAAAAA" Celestia heard as she stood behind Nightmare Moon in the next moment Nightmare turned somehow not revealing the poor soul she had been torturing. "Your evil ends here Nightmare surrender now and I wont hurt you." Celestia said as the elements started floating around her. "Never our night shall last forever." Nightmare shouted as she shot a magic beam at Celestia that hit the elements making them crumble. "Noo.What have you done?" Celestia demanded but during her tirade Nightmare had jumped towards her. In the last moment Celestia used her magic to grab Nightmare and then beat her up using the room the two were in. "Monster.""She is Evil." Celestia heard in the next moment from a bunch of ponies that had appeared out of nowhere and were now surrounding her. Then she looked back to where Nightmare used to be only to be met with the filly form of her sister only her hoofs were bent the wrong way she wasn't moving and her horn was broken. "No I didn't mean to. It was Nightmare Moon. I had to protect everypony." Celestia started to shout as she got closer to her sisters body. Her words only succeeded in having the voices starting to shout out "Liar." in addition the other insults. Then in the next moment Celestia was standing behind Nightmare Moon as she heard the scream of some unfortunate soul. Celestia now knew this was her illusion. She knew that standing in front of her was her beloved sister she would never wish to harm. "Your evil ends here Nightmare surrender now and I wont hurt you." Celestia heard her voice say as the elements started floating around her despite her not wanting them to. Then everything kept repeating over and over. //Dreamscape - Bob\ "AAAAAAA" Bob screamed in horror as he saw his paws bend in unnatural ways before they turned to ash and disappeared all together as his scream became muted and everything went black. Then in the next moment he could see again and saw his paws in front of him beginning to bend unnaturally as Luna in her Nightmare Moon form stood in front of him. He tried not to scream realizing that this was all a dream and most likely some sort of sick payback for him killing Celestia in his dreams to teach her not to spy on him. However it didn't work. Then seeing that he would be forced to just wait this torture out after the 4th repeat Bob ignored the pain as best he could and focused on his future plans provided he isn't killed. //Dreamscape -Luna\ "And begin." Luna heard Starswirl shout out and immediately started channeling an offencive spell with her eyes closed. She was then promptly hit in the face by Starswirl's hoof before she was hit by a spell from Starswirl. "Wrong again Luna you must learn to predict your opponent and act accordingly if you are to achieve victory in one of our spars. Now we don't have anymore time for spars as I and my colleagues must investigate some shadow pony that has been causing a ruckus. That having been said I expect a 6000 word essay on the benefits and drawbacks of the magic of each tribe pertaining to combat and inform Celestia that she is to help with spars in my absence and I expect and essay from her on the importance of holding back." Luna had a vision of Starswirl not returning if he left now. "No Don't "Luna started to say but was zapped by a lightning bolt from Starswirl's horn. "Also I expect the essays you and your sister owe me on modern Equestrian Language and culture."Starswirl said before he crumbled to dust and everything became darkness. It was at this moment that Luna fully understood that this was a dream. And a few seconds later she realized that this was her dream and that the Tantabus that was supposed to make her relive her fall at the hands on the elements was nowhere to be found. Thinking fast Luna used her magic to get out of her dream and was met with a strange door that was the merged dreams of her sister and diamond dog if the odd claw markings on half the door were anything to go by. She immediately used her magic to go in believing that the tantabus was inside and somehow responsible for this. The first thing Luna noticed was pain and fact that her hoofs were all bend in unnatural ways. Then she heard the voices of ponies shouting."Liar""Monster.""She is Evil.". At first Luna thought they were shouting at her but then she felt something wet fall on her muzzle and as she looked up she saw her sister crying. Then in the next moment Luna no longer felt the pain of her hoofs being bent backwards and she saw before her the form of Bob. In the next moment he started screaming as Luna saw her magic aura bending Bob's paws like noodles before they were incinerated. All the while the dog looked horrified . "Your evil ends here Nightmare surrender now and I wont hurt you."Luna heard and she was suddenly facing Celestia as the elements started floating around her. "Never our night shall last forever." Luna heard her own voice before she saw her magic shoot towards Celestia and hitting the elements making them crumble. "Noo.What have you done?" Celestia demanded but during her tirade Luna's body had jumped towards Celestia. In the last moment Celestia used her magic to grab Luna and then beat her up using the room the two were in. "Monster.""She is Evil." Luna heard in the next moment from a bunch of ponies that had appeared out of nowhere and were now surrounding them. Then she felt her hoofs bent backwards as she felt intense pain . "No I didn't mean to. It was Nightmare Moon. I had to protect everypony." Celestia started to shout as she got closer to her Luna who was unable to move. Then the voices stated also calling Celestia a liar and everything repeated. After the first 2 repeats Luna could completely ignore the pain and after 20 she finally managed to find out where in the dream the tantabus was hiding and gather enough magic to capture it and remove it from the dream then she used what was left of her magic to force the dream to end. Author's Note That dream chapter that nobody wants but I still write becouse I enjoy making my story charecters suffer. But is actually a way of building up regret in Luna so she doesn't flat out kill Bob when next he messes up. While keeping in with my stories' narrative that ponies are racists from the medieval era.:twilightsheepish:
