Razor's edgeby Demonic DragonChaptersFirst impression and enrollmentThe first weekRazor the swordsmithTo carry the flameA friendship formedFirst impression and enrollmentPrinciple Twilight sat at her desk as she read the form in front of her. It was enrollment form for a new student. She scanned the form carefully; reading over every little detail. She smiled as she sat the form down. Before she looked at the mare and stallion in front of her. Both of them had nervous smiles on their faces. “Well?” The mare asked. “I believe your son will be a perfect addition for our school.” Twilight answered with a happy smile. Both the mare and stallion sighed in relief; as they smiled back at her. “Thank you, Principal Twilight,” The stallion thanked her, “Thank you.” He repeated in very grateful voice. “No problem.” She replied. As the three talked in her office; just outside her office a young earth colt sat. He had a solid white mane and matching tail. His body color solid yellow. His eyes were solid blue. On his flank was the image of a sword, knife and a dagger. He stared at the wall in front of him with a stoic face. He breathed gently as he waited for his parents to come back out. But, after the thirtieth minute had passed. He had grown bored of just sitting still. He got up off the chair and began to walk down the hall. Eventually, he came to the entrance of the library. It made him smile before he walked in and began to search its many shelves. He eventually found a book that perked his interest. He then pulled it from the shelf; walked over to one of the many tables, and then sat down. The book he selected was a book about the history of equestrian swords. He smiled again as he flipped from page to page. He read every word and studied every image. He even brought out a small journal from his saddlebag. He placed it next to the book he was reading; writing in it every now and then. By the time he had reached the middle of the book. A group of six creatures had walked into the library. The group consisted of a dragoness, a hypogriff, a griffin, a yak, a changeling, and a earth pony. They were talking to each other; a few of them shaking their heads at a comment. While a few of them chuckled at it. “So,” The dragoness began getting everyone's attention, “Who else almost fell asleep through miss, Applejack's. Founding of Ponyville lesson?” She asked. The changeling in the hypogriff lifted their respected hoof and claw. While they chuckled. “Yak history better than pony history,” The yak of the group spoke, “More stuff gets smashed rather than built.” She finished. The changeling then spoke, “At least your yak history and pony history; dose not have your kind leeching off other species.” She commented on her kind. As the group spoke to one another it was the griffin who took notice of the colt. He motioned his claw to gain everyone's attention and then pointed towards the colt. When they looked at the colt they asked each other who he was. How long had he been sitting there. Eventually, one of them was selected to go talk to him. It was the dragoness. Slowly, she approached the colt who continued to read the book in front of him. When she reached his side; she though he would look at her. But, he didn't even glance at her. Smolder wondered what should she say to him. Figuring, that he was so into the book he was reading. That she may spook him if she touched his shoulder. So, with a deep breath she prepared herself to speak to him. “My name is Razor,” The colt suddenly spoke as his gaze shifted to his journal, “It is not polite to stare.” He finished before taking a pencil into his maw. Allowing him to write in his journal. Smolder's mouth hung open; she was just about to say hello and introduce herself to him. And, he just spoke to her in a voice void of emotion. “If your mouth stays open long enough; a fly will fly in it.” The colt suddenly spoke again. Smolder immediately snapped into reality. Her mouth snapping shut as her senses finally returned to her. She unintentionally growled at the colt; she caught herself mid-growl. Worried about how he would react. For, a single minute both of them were completely silent. The colt reading the book and writing in his journal. While Smolder wondered who was going to break the silence again. “I have introduced myself,” He spoke up breaking the silence again, “You should introduce yourself. Unless you want me to call you by your species name.” He finished. Smolder shook her head in both frustration and annoyance. The colt sounded like some stuck up kid; probably wondering why some dragon was speaking to him. Just the very though made her want to growl again. She was about to speak to him; but she was stopped when he suddenly reached into his saddlebag. He suddenly pulled out some rubbery mesh. She grew curious as he gently pulled the mesh over his right hoof. He then reached back into his pulled out something. Something that made everyone in the library scared of him. From his saddlebag he pulled out a mechanical glove; it was in the shape of a dragons right claw. Immediately, Smolder backed away and prepared herself for a fight. While the others grabbed various items; possibly to throw at him. Razor didn't care about how much he was scaring the others. All he cared about at the moment was was finishing the up-link. When the device on his hoof made a series of rapid beeps; followed by the loud sound of a long ping. He gazed at the device and at the mesh just underneath the device. He saw the mesh glowing. And then when he though about moving his hoof. One of the claws had flexed into the devices palm. It caused him to smile as the rest of the claws formed the rest of the fist. He then reached over to his pencil and began to write in his journal. “Better.” Razor suddenly spoke as he looked over to the book. Everyone else was confused; why was he using his device to write. Rather than the normal way of the earth pony. Smolder kept her guard up as she began to step closer to him. When she was beside him again; she finally spoke. “Hello,” She began keeping her claws at the ready just encase she needed to defend herself, “My name is Smolder.” She finally introduced herself. “Nice to meet you,” Razor replied as he focused on his journal again, “Now, can you please leave me alone. You are annoying me.” He finished. The others knew that the colt had just dug his own grave. Smolder had just introduced herself; politely. Well, in dragon standers of politeness. And, he had just said that she was annoying him. Each of them knew how this was going to end. So, before the fight had even started they had to make sure it was already finished. Ocellus and Yona were the ones to hold Smolder back. While the others gave threatening glares at the colt. Gallus got next to the colt and turned him to look at him, “Listen,” Gallus began in a angered tone, “Who do you think you are!?” He growled out. “You're feathers are blue,” Razor responded as he turned back to the book, “I hate blue.” He finished. Gallus growled louder as he made the colt look at him again. The colt showed no emotion. No fear or anger. He just stared forward at him. Gallus brought one of his claws back and balled it into a fist ready to punch the colt. While the others looked on in worry and horror. “If you are going to punch me,” Razor suddenly spoke, “Are you going to attempt to knock me out?” He asked. Gallus stopped for a moment; for that was a first for all of them. The colt had just asked if he was going to knock him out. Which at the time seemed like a very good idea. He nodded at the colts question. “Then you are aiming wrong,” Razor replied as he looked at the fist, “You want to aim for the jaw or the carotid artery. That will cause instant knockout if struck hard enough.” He finished. “What?” Gallus asked confused entirely on why the colt would help him. “There is another way to bring an opponent down,” Razor spoke again, “Would you like to know?” He finished his question. Gallus nodded but his answer was not words. No, it was a huge jolt of pain that shot right from his groin. He released the colt from his grasp and fell to the floor. Groaning loudly in pain as one of his friends got to his side. He couldn't believe it. The colt just kicked him in his crotch and had gone back to what he was doing. “What is your problem!?” He heard his friend Sandbar suddenly shout in anger. “He left himself open,” He heard the brat reply, “It's his own fault.” He finished. “That was low and you know it!” Silverstream shouted at the colt. Razor looked at her, “Your coat is blue. I hate blue.” He spoke to her; repeating his dislike of the color blue. Now Silverstream was angry; she was about to say something but she was interrupted by a familiar tomboyish voice. “Hey!” The voice of coach Rainbow dash shouted, “What's going on here?” She asked before seeing Gallus being helped up off the ground by Silverstream, “What happened to him?” Each of them looked towards the colt; who was already back to reading the book. Rainbow dash immediately got in front of the colt; making him look up at her. “Well,” She began, “What did you do to Gallus?” She asked. Razor's answer was one he would repeat for a third time, “Your coat and feathers are blue. I hate blue.” He finished. Rainbow dash was angered by what the colt had said to her. She was about to say something back to him. But, by then Twilight and Razor's parents had walked into the library. “Rainbow!” Twilight shouted. “Twilight!” Rainbow replied. “Principal Twilight!” The six suddenly spoke “Razor!” Both of his parents yelled but he did not reply to either of them. “What's going on?” She asked. By the time everything was explained to her. Razor parents had grown worried for not only their son. But, also his enrollment into the school. Twilight, she was stuck in between a rock and a very hard place. Her only students had just met the schools newest student. Not aware of his condition that she was just recently informed of. Taking in a deep breath; she prepared herself to explain to her students Razors condition. “Everyone,” She began getting everyone's-aside from Razor's- attention, “The colt at the table,” A small hint of worry entered her mind; knowing that she was probably about to ignite a very volatile situation, “His name is Razor edge,” she continued allowing everyone aside from Smolder to know his name, “He's going to be one of our new students.” She knew this was going to probably set everything off. So, before anyone could voice their disapproval to his enrollment. She brought one of her hooves up. Allowing her to keep everybody quiet, “I understand that your first impression of him wasn't exactly a good one.” Smolder spoke up after that, “He said I was annoying.” Gallus was the next to speak, “He got a cheap shot on me and he said he hates me.” He finished. Before anyone could say anything else; it was Razors' turn to speak, “I do not hate you. Just the color of your feathers.” He spoke. As Razor's parents began to speak to their son. Twilight led the student's to the other side of the library. So, that she could possibly inform them about their new classmate. “Alright,” She began as she looked at her students, “I can safely assume none of you like Razor at the moment?” She received a nod from all of them. It made her sigh out of despair. This would probably be harder than she thought, “Well, Smolder, Gallus. I'm sorry if he hurt both of you and you have a right to be mad at him. But, understand this everyone; he didn't mean any of what he said.” She finished. “Could have fooled me.” Sandbar replied getting the others to agree with his comment. “Listen,” Twilight did her best to try and help them understand, “Razor has a mental condition known as Asperger's syndrome,” She continued as everyone looked to one another. Clearly confused by what she just said that he had, “It's a condition that is a subtype of a autism spectrum disorder. He didn't mean to hurt anybody with what he said or did.” It was then that Gallus had interrupted her, “Then can you explain why he kicked me.” He finished still feeling a twinge of pain. Twilight answered, “When you replied to his question he answered. Yes, he did attack you. But, in his mind he did nothing more than answer your question.” She finished. Silverstream spoke up then, “Then, why did he say he hated him, me, and miss Rainbow dash?” She asked with the others nodding in response. “He's very honest,” She replied, “He does not like the color blue. So when he said he hates the color of your feathers,” She pointed towards Gallus, “Your fur and Rainbow's fur,” She continued, “He only saw the color blue. Which is a color he does not like for an unknown reason. So, he was not trying to be disrespectful or mean. He just says what's on his mind.” She finished. Her student's were more confused now. How could anypony say something like that and act normal about it. How can anypony hate just a single color and say that to another creature. How can a colt see causing bodily harm as an answer. “I know you're talking to them about me,” Razor suddenly spoke causing everyone to look towards him. His parents were trying their best to move him along, “They now know I have Asperger's; and they probably do not understand it.” The way he spoke was calm and contained. While the others felt it was more of an icy calm, “I don't think I'll make any friends in this school. Tomorrow I may make them hate me again,” He turned to leave the library as his parents tried to explain to him this may be different, “I am used to it. It does not affect me anymore,” He turned to Twilight and the others, “Goodbye.” He finished as he and his parents began to walk towards the exit of the school. The group was left in complete silence; they were left completely speechless. He was expecting to come back tomorrow; and he was expecting to make them hate him again. Sure, he did cause them to feel some anger towards him. But, they did not hate him. As he left each of them looked towards Twilight. Who looked at them with a concerned look. “I know what I'm about to ask is going to be very difficult for each of you to do,” She began as she looked at her students, “But, can each of you give him a chance. He's had a very hard time at other schools,” She continued before walking towards the exit of the library. Before walking out she looked back towards her students, “Please......just give him a chance.” She finished before walking out of the library. Her students were left to their own thoughts. Just a little while ago each of them were introduced to Razor. A colt with something called Asperger's syndrome. A colt that just attack Gallus and insulted Smolder, Silverstream and coach Rainbow dash. Yet, he didn't mean any of it. Hopefully tomorrow it would be easier. But, at the same time they wondered just how difficult it would be to get along with him. Author's Note okay, I know I may piss a lot of people off with this. but, I am not trying to insult anybody with autism spectrum disorder. I've based Razor's behavior off of my younger siblings behavior. He has Asperger's syndrome; so before anyone say that I've got it wrong. Some of it may be true because all I'm having my character doing is what my brother has done. I'm also reading up on it; so please just bear with me. if anyone has any comment they would like to leave please do so. Oh, and if you like the story click the like button. The first weekThe students were gathered at the castle of the two sisters. Ever since their first visit to the forgotten place; it had become a nice place for them to get away from the world. A way for all of them to relax together. And, after the week they had each of them needed to be here. Ocellus, Smolder, and Silverstream were each resting on a bean bag chair they had brought. While the others were playing a game of catch. Gallus seemed to be really focused on the game. For, there were times he would throw the ball to hard or suddenly start giving off competitive grunts. Sandbar caught the ball and held onto it, “Gallus,” He spoke causing everyone to look at him, “Are you still upset about Tuesday?” He asked. Gallus snorted loudly as he looked down to the floor, “Yeah.” He answered. Silverstream then spoke, “I though you and Ocellus let that go,” She said as she looked towards said Changeling; who looked away from her, “Both of you know he didn't mean to embarrass both of you.” She finished. To that Ocellus replied, “We know,” She sighed heavily, “It's just......you don't say something like that out loud.” She finished. Everyone knew exactly what the two were talking about. It happened on Tuesday during their gym class with coach Rainbow dash. They were supposed to be with Miss Fluttershy after their gym class. Unfortunately, one of her animals had gotten sick and needed her. So their gym class was extended by an extra thirty minutes. During the second part of gym; was when everything happened. (Flashback Tuesday) “Fifty-five! Fifty-six! Fifty-seven!” Rainbow dash shouted as her and her class did push ups together. For, her extended class period she chose to work on the students endurance. To start off; she was having everyone do One-hundred pushups. She would look up on occasion; just to see who was still going strong. So far all of them were still going. But, she could already see three of them starting to struggle to push themselves back up. “Come on don't give up!” She shouted while also keeping track of the number they were on. Each of them were grunting and groaning as their muscles burned from the repetition. Well, except for Gallus, Smolder, and Razor. It was expected from Gallus and and Smolder; simply because their species was known for their strength. While Razor stared blankly down at the floor. Rainbow smiled proudly at her students; each of them were doing their best to push past their limit. It reminded her of herself when she was still at the junior flight school. “Ocellus.” Razor suddenly spoke. “Yes, Razor?” Ocellus asked with a groan as she pushed herself up. “Will you please stop staring at my flank,” He replied which caused everyone in the gym to stop; while he kept going, “I find it annoying when somepony stares at me.” He finished. Ocellus had a huge shade of red stretch across her face. She could not believe he had just said that out loud. She wasn't staring at him.....was she? Yes, she would glance up to see how he was doing. But, she didn't stare at him. Especially not at his flank. She then heard Gallus snickering a little. Making her blush become more intense. “Gallus can you also do the same.” Razor suddenly spoke. Gallus immediately went quiet after Razor said that. Everyone was looking at him; possibly wondering why he was staring at Razor like that. It was at that moment Coach Rainbow dash had busted out into a fit of laughter. She knew it was wrong to laugh at her students misery. But, she just couldn't hold back her laughter anymore. (Back to the present) It took Yona and Sandbar to hold him back. Never in his life had he wanted to beat somepony to a pulp so badly. But, after Razor had said that out-loud no less. He wasn't going to hold himself back. He did try to intimidate him in the boys locker room. But, that conversation went a completely different direction. Especially since Razor noticed something that he had completely forgotten about his own species. Apparently, sometimes during times of conflict. His species would go through a sudden state of arousal. Which Razor almost ended up explaining to him. Thankfully, Sandbar was there to pull him out of it. Gallus sighed heavily as Sandbar walked up and patted his back. Gallus thanked him with a nod before walking over to one of the other empty bean bags. Groaning as he rested his body on it. The other two followed. That wasn't all Razor had done. Although their principal had asked them to give him a chance. They were finding it extremely hard to get along with the colt. On Wednesday when Miss Fluttershy had returned; she introduced the class to some of her bird friends. When a bluejay had landed on his desk; it tweeted happily at him. Only to have him respond with his dislike of the color blue. They each could have sworn they saw the bird frowning. But, Fluttershy quickly cheered her bird friend up. Then, just before she was about to have all of the birds sing. Razor had put some earmuffs on his head. Yona, found that very rude and walked over to him. Just as the birds started singing she took his earmuffs off his head. Razor then started to yell in discomfort. Saying that the singing was bothering him. To them it just seemed like he was being a brat. While for Razor; the birds combined tweeting was bothering him. He brought his hooves up to his ears and began making an annoying groaning sound. It was made worse by Yona; who tried to pull his hooves down from his ears. It caused him to yell at her; which made her back away. While Miss Fluttershy got her bird friends quiet. Yes, it was hard to get along with him. It was not their fault that he was so.........so.......so different. They knew that was hypocritical even for them. Considering each of them were from completely different species. But, none of them had the mental condition Razor had. How could somepony say stuff that was so embarrassing out loud? And, how is it that he found birds singing so annoying. Razor was a pony that was completely different........and they just couldn't understand him. Thursday went by without a problem. But, Friday he publicly humiliated Smolder. He said something embarrassing out loud in front of everypony in Ponyville and in front of Dragon lord Ember. All of that happened just after they were released from school for the weekend. (Friday) The students had decided to go out for something sweet at sugar cube corner. All of them-except for Yona- were at the local bakery. Smolder enjoyed a gem crusted cupcake. Ocellus and Sandbar enjoyed their milkshakes. And, Gallus enjoyed a slice of apple pie he had ordered. They ate in silence at first. But, Smolder eventually broke the silence. “So,” She began getting the attention of the others, “Any of you have any plans for the weekend?” They each shook their heads in response. It caused her to smile as a sudden though entered her mind. “How about we all hang out at the castle,” She said causing the others to smile, “It's been awhile since we had hung out there.” She finished. The others voiced their agreement with her plan. It was then that Yona had burst through the door. She had a look of panic as she raced towards the others. Who looked at her in worry. When she reached the table they could hear her panting loudly. “Smolder,” She yelled as she tried to catch her breath, “Your lord dragon is here!” She yelled. Smolder gasped loudly after what she had heard. What was Dragon Lord Ember doing in Ponyville. She was not aware of any visit or follow up report. So, why was the Dragon lord here. She was about to ask why she was here. But, Yona answered her question before she could even ask. “Razor is speaking to her now!” It was that statement that made her dragon blood run colder. She knew that if Lord Ember had heard him say his dislike of the color blue. He may start a war with the dragons and ponies. She moved faster than she had ever moved before. She slammed the door open and took flight. From above she looked for her dragon lord. She found her just outside of Principal Twilight's castle. She then saw Razor and immediately nosed dived. Before he could react; she tackled him down to the ground. Growling loudly as she pinned him down to the ground. “Smolder!” Both Twilight and Ember shouted in surprise. Smolder looked towards the two and saw the shock on their faces. She was about to respond; but Razor was the first to speak. “This is unexpected Smolder.” He said in his emotionless voice. Smolder looked down at him in confusion; while he looked back up at her. “I know you had stared at me in class today and the day before,” He began which caused his principal and Ember to look at Smolder, “But, I did not know you wanted to get me on my back this quick.” He finished. Smolder immediately became numb to the world. Given the position they were in; along with what he had said she had done. Everypony within ear shot of what he had just said; burst out into laughter. Even her own dragon lord laughed at what he said. She quickly got off him and flew off as far away as she could. Trying to put some distance between her and Ponyville. (Back to the present.) It was later that day she had found out about why Ember was in Ponyville. Apparently, Razor had asked Twilight about her connection to the dragon lord. He then asked Spike about it; then through Spike he had set up a small meeting. He was making a deal with dragon lord Ember for the trade of five hundred crystalline ingots and three hundred metal ingots. She did not know why he need those but she really didn't care. He embarrassed her in front of everypony. And, she was not going to forgive that......freak for that one. Each of them were having a very difficult time adapting to Razor. They just didn't know how to talk to him or interact with him. He was different on so many levels. It had only been a week with him in the school ; and already they wished he was gone. They couldn't think of anything positive at the moment. Only, that the school year was going to get tougher because of him. Maybe he was right. Maybe they would start to grow to hate him. Maybe they would never become friends. Simply because he was just.....too different. Author's Note Chapter 2 enjoy Razor the swordsmithThe six students slowly walked down the path to Razors' home. They walked in silence as they walked down the road. Apparently, Razor had been excused from school for a whole week. They were told by their principal that he needed time off for his business. They didn't believe her at first; simply because he was a colt around Sandbar's age. They also found it hard to believe his profession, Swordsmith. They figured he was skipping school and lying about his reason. So, they each agreed they would go see it for themselves. They couldn't believe how far his family lived outside of Ponyville. They seemed to live just about a stone throw away from the Everfree forest. The family's home was a medium sized cottage; with a smaller building right behind it. On the outside they saw Razor's mother watering a flower bed. When she looked up she greeted them with a friendly wave. Before, she walked up to them with a happy smile. “Hello everyone,” She greeted happily as they greeted her back, “What brings you all here today?” She asked in a cheerful voice. Silverstream answered, “We were worried about Razor,” She lied for all of them, “We missed him in school for today. Is he okay?” She asked. Razor's mother replied, “Oh, he's out back in his Swordsmith shop,” She then motioned for them to follow her, “Follow me.” She finished. They looked at each other in confusion and shock. As they followed Mrs. Edge to the backyard; when they went around their home. They were shocked at what they saw. Razor, was inside the building behind his home. He wore heavy clothing and two of the metallic dragon claws. Along with two metallic dragon feet. They heard a loud banging sound coming from the building. Inside Razor was hammering away at a glowing hot piece of metal. They watched in awe as the hammer struck the metal; sending sparks flying as it was flattened out. He then picked it up with his robotic dragon arm. He then walked over to two massive rolling stones. Placing the tip in between the two; he then stepped on a wedged wooden block. Causing the block to roll backwards; causing the piece of metal to be pulled in. He then took his foot off the wooden block. The rocks rolled backwards allowing him to pull the metal out. His class-mates watched him for about thirty minutes. They couldn't believe what they were seeing. He was actually forging a sword right in front of them; the sword he made looked beautiful and deadly. The blade had two colors; on the two edged parts of the blade were yellow. While the two flat sides of the sword were colored purple. He was working on the hilt of the blade now. It was not made of typical metal; no, it was made of wood. Wood from a trees limbs to be precise. They wondered how he managed to make the wood wrap around the hilt of the sword. By the way he had wrapped it; the blade looked as if it had grown from the wood of the tree. He then began to place small blue and yellow gems into the wood. Making the hilt sparkle. “Do you all need something?” He suddenly asked as he began to wrap the sword in a white plastic. When they were snapped back into reality Ocellus was the first to speak, “We,” She began stammering a little as her mind worked faster than her maw, “We just wanted to see if you were okay.” She answered; lying of course because their real reason to visit was something else. “I am fine,” Razor replied as he began to tie the plastic around the sword, “Please stand back.” He ordered. They did as they were told and once again they stood in silence. They watched as Razor poured blue colored ash onto the packaged weapon. He then reached up above himself and pulled on a small rope; a small bag suddenly descended from the ceiling. He then reached down and put on a protective mask. When the mask was secure he pulled on the rope again; this time a jet of fire came from the bag. It hit the sword directly and in seconds the package was gone in a puff of magic smoke. His class-mates watched as the smoke flew from his shop and into the air. “You can enter again.” Razor spoke as he removed the equipment he was wearing. When they entered his shop again he greeted them at the front. He smiled at them as they looked at him, “Is there something you all need?” He asked them. Their reply was shaking their heads, “Then why are you all really here?” He asked. Ocellus was about to answer again, “You are a horrible liar, Ocellus.” Razor spoke before she was able to speak. They had to come clean when he realized they were all lying. When he heard the real reason; he really wasn't too shocked. “To tell the truth,” He spoke, “If I was in the same position as all of you. I would also question someone who is as young as me having a job.” He finished with a chuckle. They all chuckled also as they imaged themselves having a job like his. Having to tell the principal to give him a week off so he could catch up on his job. Only to have every creature in their school; show up a few hours later. Just to see if they were lying. It sounded strange but at the same time it was very funny. For, about two hours Razor showed his class-mates what he would do. And, to say they were amazed was an understatement. Smolder, was more surprised when she found out that the bag on the ceiling was a dragons gas bladder. A bladder that all dragons have just behind their combustion sac. The gases in the bag would mix with the liquid in the sac; causing a chemical reaction inside of both of them. Allowing all dragons to breath fire. The only flaw was when they burped or when they would pass gas or even when they would sneeze. By the time they had left Razor had completed two more orders. The students returned to their dorm rooms. While Razor continued to work; inside the home Razors parents watched their son with happy smiles on their faces. Finally, after for so long. Their son was making friends. His mother cried a little at the happy though. They finally found a school where he could fit in. Rather than be teased or bullied; just because of his condition. They were happy that their son could finally have a normal life. Rather than the one of an outcast. Author's Note This chapter is just a filler. I was trying to give more of a background to my OC. Like how he's studied so much on swords; he can actually craft them like a professional. Again my OC is based on my brother. No, he is not into swords; he is into art. And in my opinion he is a damn good artist. To carry the flameThe bell for the next class rang loudly; signaling for all students to head for the next class. The students flooded the halls. Some walking to their lockers to get books for their next class. While others talked to their friends for the short time they have. The six students along with Razor; slowly walked down the hall. They talked to one another about their recent class. Smolder and Gallus laughed a little as they remembered what happened to Sandbar. Miss, Pinkie had apparently hidden a small party cannon inside of one of their desks. And, unfortunately for Sandbar it was his. He spent the majority of the class pulling confetti and streamers from his mane. But, in the end everyone had a good chuckle. Well, except for Razor; who seemed to question her teaching methods. “I still fail to see how; re-purposed pre-equestrian defense weaponry. Is supposed to prepare us for the real world or teach us friendship,” Razor spoke in his emotionless tone, “If anything she is teaching us how to prepare for war.” He finished. Everyone rolled their eyes at his statement. They were still working on getting used to him; but, their still were those days. Like how he questioned Miss, Fluttershy's teaching method; when she was trying to show them how to tame any creature. He had asked her if they could tame any creature; why was it she couldn't tame the storm king or his minions. He even asked her why she couldn't tame a timber wolf. She did her best to answer the questions; but it was not good enough for him. Well, hardly anything was good enough for him at the school. Unless it had to deal with swords; then he was all over it. “Razor,” Silverstream spoke in a gentle voice, “All she is trying to do is teach us how to have fun.” She tried to explain. Razor replied, “So, having a cannon filled with confetti, streams, and black powder. Fired into your face out of no-where is fun?” He asked his gaze cast elsewhere as they turned down another hall, “Then I am happy me and her have different definitions of fun.” He finished. Yona then moved closer to Ocellus and whispered, “Would teachers notice if he go missing?” She asked her friend as they looked behind them, “I can smash him.” She finished. “And I can turn you into a pin cushion,” Razor spoke as he walked by them, “But, you do not see me whispering it; while I am right behind you.” He finished leaving Yona with her mouth half open. While Ocellus shuddered at the image Razor had just put in her head. Smolder couldn't help but laugh at what just happened. Razor, just owned Yona as she was threatening to make him disappear. She found it humorous and similar to the banter that dragons would send at each other. She moved to his side and hovered one of her claws close to him. Wanting to give him a high-five. All she got was his emotionless and directionless stare. “I was not joking.” He clarified as he walked past Smolder. After that they had all stopped talking and walked in silence. When they reached another turn; six of them turned to head to the next class. While Razor continued to head straight. Causing Gallus to turn and look towards him. “Where are you going?” Gallus asked. Razor turned and replied, “I need to speak to Councilor, Starlight,” He then turned back and continued walking, “I have this period free. I usually spend it in the library.” He finished. The others simply shrugged their shoulder before they hurried off to their next class. Razor, he kept his usual walking pace. He did eventually reach her door; he knocked on the door and waited for her permission to enter her office. “Come in!” He heard her say and without hesitation he entered her office. Razor watched as she smiled up at him, “Razor,” He heard her say as he stood near the door, “Good to see you. Have a seat.” She said and he obeyed; sitting down in one of the two seats in front of her desk. When he had taken a seat; she brought out a clip board. “Okay,” She began, “What would you like to speak about today?” She asked. Razor went right to the point, “I have been having a strange dream for the last week,” He sighed heavily, “It is starting to annoy me.” He finished. Starlight wrote down what he had said, “Hmm, have you tried-.” “I've tried everything from meditation to herbal tea's,” He interrupted her, “Nothing has worked. So, I figured talking about the dream would help.” He finished. Starlight thought for a moment, “If you want to,” She began with a little nervousness in her voice, “I could use a spell to see your dream myself. But-.” “The spell will leave me temporarily blind,” Razor interrupted her again, “Do it.” He finished. “But,” Starlight tried to protest. Razor interrupted her for a third time, “I am okay with it councilor. I want to have a peaceful nights rest; and I want to understand the dream. So, please cast your spell.” Starlight had to mentally prep herself for the task. She had razor lay on his back on the floor; while she channeled the spell through her horn. Once the power of the spell was at its peak; she began to cast the spell. It's magical aura wrapping around his head. In a matter of seconds their eyes glowed a bright white light. It was then Starlight found herself in Razor dream. At first Starlight found herself just standing in a dark room. She wondered if this is how his dream started;with him standing possibly standing in the middle of a dark room. She then heard the sound sound of metal hitting metal. She looked around her surroundings; trying her best to find where the sound was coming from. She got her answer in a matter of seconds. Two humans were fighting just a few feet away from her. One was holding a typical double edge sword. The other held a double edge as well. But, something looked different about it. The sword seemed to have a dark aura coming from its blade. She watched in awe and in fear as the two fought. She nearly screamed in horror as the human with the dark sword; killed the other. Was Razor really having this dream every night? No wonder he was having trouble sleeping. It was then another human stepped up. This one held a sword that was curled back. But, this human was different from the first one. It wasn't because it was holding a different sword. No, this human seemed younger; almost like a teenager. The fight continued; she watched in horror as fight after fight passed. Sometimes, the human with the dark sword would win. Other times the another human with a different blade. She began to wonder; why would Razor be having a dream like this. Another human was about to fall to the wielder of the dark sword. The poor human was on its knees; possibly begging for its life. Oh, how she wanted to help it; but, that was when she saw something amazing. A spark ignited on the humans sword. The blade was engulfed in a mighty flame; which slowly spread to the humans body. She though for sure the poor human had just lost its life. But, what she saw next was something amazing. The human had gotten to its feet; its sword held at the ready. It looked as if it had more power than ever before. Then, from behind the human another appeared. This one looked like an adult female; who wore a hood over her head. She was also engulfed in the fire; her sword looked like what Razor had called a katanna. Another human appeared then another and another. Each one engulfed in the flame. What was she seeing; because this felt more like a message than a dream. It was then she caught sight of multiple familiar creatures. The first was a unicorn stallion; who carried a claymore on his back. The second an earth mare; who held a large dagger in her maw. The third a Pegasus mare; who carried a double bladed ax. A dragon was next to appear; he had a broadsword. A yak soon followed the dragon. Then a gryphon, a changeling, a hypogriff, a breezie, many other creatures of Equestria followed. Each one carrying a flame passed on from the others. It was at that moment she found herself engulf in the flames. Both, Starlight and Razor released panicked yells as they tore themselves from the dream. Both of them were panting loudly and sweating heavily. They looked at one another; expecting the other to answer. But, what could be answered. There was no way that was an ordinary dream. That was a vision of some sort. But, a vision of what. The past? Something that was going to happen in the present? Or was it a warning of the future. Neither of them had answers. “Well,” Razor began finally finding his voice, “Any.....luck?” He asked. Starlight just shook her head, “I'm sorry, Razor,” She apologized, “But, I can't make heads or tails of the dream. I might have to take this up to Princess Luna.” She finished. To that Razor sighed heavily, “I was hoping it would not come to that,” He said as he walked towards the door, “Goodbye, councilor Starlight. Thanks for the help.” He thanked her. When the door to her office closed; Starlight was lost in her thoughts. That dream was so bizarre. All those creatures engulfed in flame; fighting just like the one before them. Only to improve on the fighting style and technique. What did he and her just witness together. She wasn't sure; she could only hope that Princess Luna had the answers she needed. Because that dream was no ordinary dream. It was something that was possibly more. Razor found himself passing a clock in the schools hallway. He saw he still had thirty minutes of his free period left. So, he walked off to the library. Once their he found a book on swords; brought it to a table and sat down. He read the book while also taking notes in his journal. He knew that others found his interests in swords weird and also scary. But, it was something that made him feel......like a normal colt. He knew he wasn't normal. He knew no-creature could possibly understand how he worked. But, he was trying his best to fit in. He wanted to be accepted; to be seen as an equal. Not somepony who needed special care. But, unfortunately, not every-creature saw him as a normal colt. No, they either saw him as somepony who was mentally incompetent. Or as some kind of weird freak. Author's Note Hope everyone is liking how this story is going. I hope I'm doing well. please, let me know how I'm doing everyone. because I really appreciate the feedback. A friendship formedThe students sat calmly along the water-banks of the Ponyville lake. It was a place where they each got to know each other better. Where they each became friends. Now, it was a place where they each got to relax. Which is what they were all doing. Smolder and Sandbar rested against Yona; who was napping on a blanket she had brought with her. While Ocellus and Sandbar were skipping stones. Silver stream had turned into her sea-pony form and enjoyed a swim in the lake. “Ha,” Ocellus laughed as she flew into the air, “I win again.” She finished as she landed back down on the ground. Sandbar laughed along with her before he asked, “How do you make the stones go so far?” He got his answer when Ocellus held up a very smooth and flat small rock. “You want to find a small rock about like this,” She began before bringing her right hoof back, “You also want to angle your throw a little bit. That way your not throwing it directly at the water.” She finished before she threw the rock. The rock skipped off the lakes surface about five times; before finally loosing its momentum and sinking below the waters surface. At the time Silver stream had propelled herself out of the water and turned back into her original form. She flew just above as she flew back to the shore. When she was close enough she landed on the beach. “This is nice,” She said as she looked out across the lake. Smiling happily as the suns light reflected off the waters surface. Making it sparkle like the stars at night, “I'm glade we chose to come here today.” She finished. The others agreed before they joined the other three. All of them rested against Yona; who was smiling happily in her sleep. It was a good day to be at the lake; it was nice and warm with a cool breeze blowing through. It was a day where everything was just perfect. Ocellus began to yawn a quiet yawn. Her eyes blinked a couple of times; before she saw a figure sitting along the edge of the lake. When she focused her sight on the figure her eyes went wide in surprise. “Razor.” She said in astonishment. What she said woke Gallus, Yona, and Smolder from their peaceful slumber. While Silverstream and Sandbar focused their attention on their classmate. He sat there at the edge of the lake; looking out at its surface. Just staring out at its beautiful surface. They looked at one another before they each got up and began to walk towards him. Razor focused all his attention on the waters surface. He could hear the sound of multiple footsteps walking towards him. But, he did not care. He was there to clear his mind. When the steps had come to a stop; he looked over to see who was near him. He saw his classmates standing next to him. But, he did not care. He turned to look back out at the lake. “Hello to you too, Razor.” Gallus said in a sarcastic tone. He hated it whenever Razor would do that. “Hello to all of you,” Razor replied in his typical robotic-like voice, “Now, please. Leave me alone.” He finished. Three of his classmates gave off growls of irritation. While the rests just shook their head. All but Ocellus started to walk back to where they were. She did not know why; but, for some reason she she felt there was something Razor was not telling them. Slowly, she walked around him and sat down next to him. “I asked nicely to be left alone.” Razor said while keeping his sight on the water. Ocellus nodded, “I know,” She replied while moving close to him, “Are you okay?” She asked. “No.” He answered. The others stopped and turned back to look at the two. Ocellus had a look of concern appear on her face, “What's wrong?” She asked. “I am a burden on my parents,” Razor answered which stunned everyone to silence, “They would have an easier life if I was never born.” He finished. Everyone gasped at what he had said. Never, had they ever heard any-creature say such a thing. They others had started to walk back to them. While Ocellus had shot to her hooves. “Razor!” She began, “Why would you say that? Your parents wouldn't have an easier life! They wouldn't have you; their child.” She finished in a voice filled with shock. “And if I had not been born or had not been born with Asperger's. They would not be having a hard time,” His vision was focused on the lake still as he continued, “I've been to three different schools. Gotten into fights with other students; simply because of my condition. Teachers and principals have written me up on multiple occasions.” He stopped to take a breath while the others stood next to him and Ocellus, “I've been called a freak, bastard, idiot, retard, moron, son of a bitch, and a motherbucker,” If he was looking at his classmates; he would have probably been laughing. For, everyone had their mouths open and eyes wide in shock. Who knew he had such a colorful vocabulary, “I was six when I finally said my first words. They had to hire a specialist to teach me how to do everything a normal filly or colt could do. It cost them around six-hundred bits a session.” He took another breath; the more he explained. The more his words affected his classmates. Gallus and Smolder slightly gritted their teeth; not angry at his story. But, at their own ignorance; for they gave him some trouble in school on occasion. While the others were saddened by his story. The group sat in silence for a couple of minutes. That was until the silence was broken by Sandbar who asked, “Razor,” A silent pause passed before he continued, “What are you looking at?” He asked hoping to change the subject. “Nothing. I am just thinking.” Razor answered. “What are you thinking about?” Sandbar asked with slight hesitation. Razors' reply was one they did not expect, “If I should drown myself today or not.” Razor responded. All of them gasped in horror; each of them not believing what they had just heard. Ocellus moved in front of Razor. “Razor, why would you even think about doing that?!” She almost yelled in anger, “Your parents would.” “Probably, celebrate with a glass of white wine,” Razor interrupted her, “White wine is their favorite.” He finished. Smolder unintentionally released a growl, “Razor, are you out of your mind?” She mentally kicked herself for the poor choice of words, “Your parents would never celebrate your death. They would miss you.” She finished. “I repeat things, I hate certain noises because I find them annoying, I hate the color blue for some reason,” He listed off his faults, “Their is nothing good about me.” He finished. “What about how you how you can make swords?” Yona asked. “That is the only good thing about me,” Razor responded, “That......that....that.” He took in a few deep breaths before he got to his hooves, “I need to leave,” He turned to try and walk away, “I need to be somewhere quiet.” Silverstream suddenly moved in front of him, “No!” She said as she wrapped her front legs around him. Capturing him in a comforting hug. “Let me go.” He said. “No,” Silverstream repeated while making him look at her, “Razor, you don't need to suffer alone,” She spoke hoping that she was getting through to him, “You don't need to be sad.” She finished. “I'm not sad.” He replied. Gallus then spoke, “Razor,” He placed a caring claw on his shoulder, “Silverstream is right,” He continued as the others stood beside them, “We're here for you. There's no need to be sad.” Before Razor could respond he was captured in a large group hug. Although, many would already be overcome with emotion. He continued to have the same stoic expression as before, “I'm not sad,” He spoke but the hug only intensified, “I'm not sad,” he repeated again before his head dropped a little, “I'm......I'm.......I'm,” A single tear fell from his eye, “I'm sad,” he finally said. Although he did confirm his sadness; his stoic expression told a different story, “I don't like being sad.” He finished. Sandbar replied, “Then let us help you,” They then broke the hug, “After all; that's what friends do.” He finished. Razor looked towards him, “We're......friends?” he asked. His answer was a nod from all of them. They also smiled happily at him. “I've,” He began before he paused for just a second; allowing his brain to process the information, “I've never had friends before.” He finished. Smolder then spoke, “Well, you do now,” She then extended her claw to him, “What do you think about that?” She asked. It took Razor a moment to respond, “I.......I.......I like having friends.” He finally finished before reaching out to grab her claw. They had a small handshake and the group-along with Razor- walked back to their spot on the lake. As they walked; none of them-not even Razor himself- noticed the smile that had appeared on Razor's normally stoic face. Author's Note Here is another chapter. I would really like some feedback on how I am doing or if the story could use some improvement. I would really appreciate it.
First impression and enrollmentPrinciple Twilight sat at her desk as she read the form in front of her.
Author's Note Chapter 2 enjoy
Razor the swordsmithThe six students slowly walked down the path to Razors' home.
