Glittering Stars

"I'm gonna get you Luna!"

Celestia, a young alicorn filly called as she chased after her younger alicorn sister Luna. They were playing a game of tag, happily chasing each other. Though, Celestia seem to be winning as she was much faster then her younger sister and could easily out run her. Luna was cornered into a wall when Celestia jumped on to her, giggling.

"Got you! Now your it!" Celestia now got up off her and began running.

Luna pushed herself up with her small little legs and looked to the direction her sister ran off.

"Aw come on Tia! You know I'm not fast!"

Luna called, running after Celestia when she suddenly banged into something soft and feathery.

"Oof!"

Luna looked, seeing the soft and feathered thing was a white wing that faded to a beautiful sunset orange. There was only one pony she knew that had feathered wings quite like this. She looked up, seeing her majestic and beautiful mother, Queen Galaxia.

"Hi mom." Luna said quite shyly.

Luna's mother was quite tall compared to her. Galaxia's legs were like large stools. Her horn was even longer then Luna, including her long feathered wings. But, sometimes being smaller was a good thing. Her mother could easily carry her around or give her rides. Having a tall mom was quite nice.

"Hello Luna. I was just going to go get you."

"What for?" Luna asked.

"I have something to show you, that is if you aren't busy of course." Galaxia slowly turned to the direction she came from.

"I don't think so." Luna looked over to Celestia who came out from where she was running. Celestia nodded, giving a little smile to Luna.

"Follow me then." Galaxia led the way, little Luna trotting not far behind from her.

It took awhile but they finally reached somewhere. A large white door with a bit of a blue outline stood in front of them. It had small glittering stars upon it as well. It confused Luna a bit where she would be going. Galaxia's horn glowed as she opened the door to reveal some kind of transporter. Odd white wavy lines moved upwards as the same glittering stars moved with them. The white wavy lines kind of made a circle for somepony to stand inside.

"Come along, stand in the circle with me." Galaxia told Luna as she carefully stepped into the circle the wavy lines created.

Luna nodded, stepping into the circle with her. As soon as she entered the circle, she could hear sparkling noises all around her. She looked around seeing so many of the glittering stars around her. Were they real stars? The ones that could be seen at night? Her answers would probably be soon answered as the waves going upwards started to move even faster.

"M-Mom?..W-What's happening?" Luna asked fearfully as she backed up into her mother.

"Do not fear Luna. We are simply teleporting. I'd suggest grabbing on to me though."

Luna looked to one of Galaxia's legs and grabbed on to it, holding herself up on to it as the castle and ground started to disappear around them. With a flash it all completely disappeared as a wave of wind and white magic rushed at her. She looked to see her mother was floating as they traveled through the strange magic. She could feel the wind flowing through her mane and blowing it back. It was such and odd feeling and transportation for that matter. She had flied, teleported by unicorn or alicorn magic, and even walked or trotted on hoof. But never had she done this. She felt the wind slowly fade away as she and Galaxia landed hard on some kind of ground. Luckily, she didn't and her mother took most of the hard land. She looked around to see they were in some kind of white magic bubble.

"We have arrived.."

"Arrived? We're just in some bubble!" Luna replied.

"Sometimes you have to think outside of the box Luna. Things aren't always as they seem."

And after her mother said that, the bubble started to fade and appear transparent as a black sky filled with many stars appeared fully to them. The bubble fully disappeared as Galaxia was flapping her wings to fly, along with Luna and her little wings.

"Wooow...Its night time!" Luna said in amazement.

Galaxia giggled. "Not really. This is space. This is what you see every night when the sun goes down for the night. Space is night time and the moon and stars you see." Galaxia explained.

Luna put her hoof out to the sky, as if she were reaching for the stars.

“B-But..Why..Why did you bring me here?” Luna now looked up at Galaxia.

Galaxia gave a sigh. “Look..Luna..I can’t stay here with you and Celestia forever. Ponies..Have to leave after a long time. I have a very important job to do and I need you to look after the stars and moon for me. This is your place, your future.”

Luna’s happy smile faded. She was quite confused. What did her mother mean by her not being able to stay with her and her sister? Luna became quite concerned suddenly.

“What do you mean you can’t stay?” Luna asked.

“Just the way I said it once before. I can’t stay forever because I have to move on and pursue a important job that will take away my freedom from you all away. But, it doesn’t mean I won’t be with you. I will always be with you Luna.” Galaxia hugged her wing around Luna.

“Are..You sure?”

“Of course. Whenever you look to the stars, try and find a cluster of them together. If you do, that will be me looking down upon you Luna. And I know you’ll do me proud.” Galaxia nuzzled Luna, Luna gave a small giggle.

A thousand years later, Luna stood on her balcony by her bedroom staring up at the blue sky of Celestia’s day. She looked to her right to see her older sister Celestia trotting out on to her balcony as well and looking to Luna smiling.

“Ready sister?”

“Ready.”

Celestia closed her eyes as her horn glowed a yellow aura. Luna joined in with her own magic as they begun the setting of the sun and raising of the moon. A beautiful sunset orange that reminded Luna of her dear mother appeared in the sky as the sun set behind the large Canterlot hill. The sky turned dark until the moon and stars appeared, lighting up the dark night. Both Luna and Celestia stopped as they fully finished the bringing of night. Celestia now walked back into her bedroom as Luna stayed, staring up at the stars and sky. Luna looked for a cluster of stars in the sky and found one. She gave a sad smile as a few tears fell down her face.

“I hope I did you proud..Mother.”
