When Fanfiction Becomes Reality

Act 2: From Two Legs To Four

Previous Chapter

Taylor sat there in complete shock as the one in a lifetime offer was given to him by Twilight Sparkle. An offer that he thought would never, ever come to pass in this world or the next. He has the chance to go to Equestria. To actually go to where Twilight and Rarity came from. He sat there with his hands clasped together as he thought about this decision hard. Both mares could tell by the look on his face that he was in a conflict of self-interest. For in Taylor’s mind, he felt like if he left his world, his family would worry about him if he’d just up and vanish. On the other hand, He’d get to venture into a new world only other could dream of going into. But what if it isn’t as wonderful as the show portrays it to be? After all, the show is all he knew, this was going to be the real deal. He had to carefully consider every part of this choice.

“Darling, do you not want to go…”

Asked Rarity with a slightly saddened tone in her voice. Taylor shook his head as he looked down at the wooden floor.

“It’s not that I don’t want to go. The fact that you are offering this to me is..beyond deserving of someone like me. But my family would also be worried about me if I suddenly just up and vanished.”

The room was silent for a few moments before Twilight giggled. Taylor turns his head to face her with a rather confused look. He didn’t find anything funny about this situation.

“Is that all? That is no issue, Taylor. After all, we got here didn’t we? It’s not like you won’t be able to come back. In fact, there is something I wanted to give you if you did decide to come to our world. And now, I feel that I can give it to you since you did promise to keep our world a secret. You see, you and quite a few other authors seem to believe we do not possess any magic or method of returning others from where they came. Ryuji, Zeraph, Kenji, all those characters in your stories could be returned if they really wanted to. But you are the creator of their fates after all. Since they are your stories.”

“Well, I always wrote it like that because it seems like they’d always have a way out of the situations they have been put in. At least that’s how I see it. But I suppose in my position, I wouldn’t want that.”

“Well, while we don’t normally take humans into our world, it’s not against the rules. You certainly wouldn’t be the first one to come. Though, we have had issues with humans who chose not to keep the secret and nearly exposed our world before. Thankfully with a simple memory wipe spell, we can fix the problem.”

Taylor nodded and takes in a deep breath. He looks between the two mares and thinks about it a little longer. Then he pats his right knee and stands up.

“I’d be insane to pass up your invitation. Especially when I can come and go as I please. And you have my word. No one will know about this. Not like anyone would believe me anyway. Besides, I don’t have many people to tell who would really care anyway. I am ready when you are. I have to admit I am a bit nervous though...I don’t do well in big crowds. Comes with the territory of being an introvert. So don’t expect me to be too talkative when I actually meet the others.”

Twilight lets out a happy gasp as she and Rarity jump to their hooves with excitement. They both were really hoping he’d say yes. Taylor walked over to his phone and picks it up.

“Let me just tell my folks I am going on a little trip so they don’t worry about me being gone and then I’ll tell my boss I have a family emergency and will need to leave for a few days.”

After he calls his mother and father telling them he is going on a trip with a couple of friends, he calls his boss to make up some kind of family emergency excuse. He then leaves his phone behind back on the charger and makes sure that all his front door is locked to keep people out. He then walks over back to Twilight and Rarity and takes in a breath before letting it out.

“Alright...I am ready…”

He said as he closed his eyes. They could both tell he was a little afraid of the transportation method. After all, he has no idea what traveling to another world is like. He suddenly felt each one of them take hold of one of his hands. He looks between them both.

“Don’t be scared, darling. We will be there in the blink of an eye. Just hold onto us and you will be fine. Twilight’s excellent with magic and will take us there safely.”

Twilight nodded in response at Taylor looked toward twilight then.

“Just don’t let go of us, and you will be safe. I promise.”

Being reassured by both of them, Taylor nodded and closed his eyes once more. Twilight’s horn began to glow that dark pink glow that Taylor was familiar with. He could feel the energy surrounding them as Twilight focused hard on her spell. She seemed to struggle with it for a few moments before a large dark pink portal opened up and lifted all three of them into the swirling vortex. Suddenly, it felt like he was being dragged through a wind tunnel with no end. But as quick as it happened, it all stopped as he felt his feet touch the wooden floor that had appeared below him. The quick motion made his stomach churn a bit. He fell to his hands and knees before opening his eyes to see that...he was in the Golden Oak library. More importantly, his was in Twilight’s room! A place that he had only had lucid dreams of being. But to be there in person was so..surreal.

“I cannot believe that I am actually here...and that feeling of traveling through a portal..that was scary, but cool at the same time!”

He tries to get back on his feet, only to fall back down onto his hands. Wait...where were his hands?! And why did he feel like he was covered in a thick coat of fur? And not just regular fur, it was extra fluffy. And why did he see strands of black hair in his side vision? ANd..what was on his back?! Ar4e those..wings?! Not one but two pairs?! Taylor tried his best to start walking around on his...hooves now. He was starting to panic as he looked around to see Rarity and Twilight looking at him with worry in their eyes.

“What in the actually FUCK has happened to me?! You didn’t explain that I’d suddenly have to learn how to walk like a pony!!”

He shouted as he tried to make his way to a mirror. After stumbling all over the place, he finally makes his way in front of Twilight’s dresser mirror before collapsing onto his side. He quickly and clumsily sits on his rear to see a large dark grey stallion with sky blue slit eyes and a long black mane staring right back at him. It looks just like...it was! This is what his original pony character looked like! All the way to the smallest detail, even the proper size to!

“I am sorry, Taylor! I-I had no idea this would happen! The last time a human was brought here, they did not change form! I swear, I didn’t mean for this to happen!”

He wanted to be furious with Twilight. But at the same time, she and Rarity seemed to be in as much shock as he was. But also, as an author of fanfiction stories, he should have seen this possibility as well. He stomps his front right leg onto the ground and slowly tries to get to his hooves without falling down. He takes in a deep breath and lets it out through his nose, calming himself down and opens his eyes as he turns to Twilight and Rarity.

“Sorry...I didn’t mean to shout at you both. I am just a little freaked out is all. I certainly didn’t expect to be turned into a mountain pony of all things to happen in this world.”

Twilight blinked lightly before remembering one of his most recent stories he had been working on. She then remembered Mystogan, the anthro mountain pony who was the alchemist!

“So this is what he looks like in a natural pony form? He...I mean...you really are bigger than Celestia! You are like a walking mountain of fluff!”

“Yeah, this is my original character. I remember when I first got him commissioned to be drawn. I was so very excited to see the end product. Funny thing is, once people saw him, they wanted to draw him themselves. Which I was rather grateful for. Free art is always welcomed and appreciated. My own concern now is how am I going to get used to walking around like this? It kind of reminds me of the time when twilight had to go to-...wait…”

How could he not notice it before? Twilight didn’t have her alicorn wings and this was the golden oak library! But surely that had access to the TV show if they had computers and internet...right? Otherwise, how would they even know the stories?

“Um...so do you know about the TV show that we watch about you in our world? Like...at all?”

“Well, we know of it, but each time we run a search up for it, it’s like it’s not even there. It is really strange. But the stories you all write about us we can see. it's like a bunch of prediction that is being told, but we will never know which one is right!”

“It is indeed quite the conundrum. That is why we don’t really put too much stock into your stories. But we enjoy them all the same. It is best to leave things up to fate and let destiny be your guide. After all, that is what made me a fashionista~.”

Rarity said in a rather proud tone as she flipped her mane about. Taylor chuckled lightly and wondered if he had all the future of this land known. Well, at least of the latest episode anyway. Their conversation was interrupted by the sound of footsteps heading up the stairs.

“Twilight? Are you back yet? Princess Celestia has sent a letter to you and said it was urgent!”

Taylor knew that voice indefinitely. And the presence of the tiny purple dragon with green spines and belly scales only confirmed it when he walked in. Both his and Taylor’s eyes met instantly.

“Well well, look who I get to meet on my first day here. The lucky little guy who gets to hang out with you all the time..”

“Um...Twilight? Who in the hay is this? A friend of yours?”

Twilight looked between Spike and Taylor and giggled nervously.

“Um..Spike,this is Taylor, who goes by the author name ‘Mystogan Vokunkiin’. I have told you how I love to read his stories about us. He is from the human world.”

“Uh...if he is from the human world, why is he a pony? A really...big...pony”

“I am just about as lost as you are on this, Spike. I came here expecting to retain my human form and suddenly I am a mountain pony. Now I gotta get used to walking around on hooves instead of feet. This is gonna be rough…”

He slowly starts to move toward the door one step at a time, trying to learn how to walk as a four-legged creature as quickly as possible. As he reached the stairs, he fell forward and began to roll and tumble down the stairs. The whole building shook as he did and a loud crash was heard when he hit the bottom floor. He had knocked over three shelves worth of books as he laid there with his eyes looping about with a goofy grin on his face.

“Hey, wait up...that’s my waffle…”

He said with a dazed laughter.n All three ran down the stairs to check on Taylor as he laid there with stars drifting around his head. Twilight is the first to get there and check on him. She had to do something about this, and quick.

“Oooh...if only there was a way I could give him the proper fine, motor skills of pony mobility within a few seconds...wait, that’s it!”

Twilight leans down and pressed her horn against his forehead. A small flash of light appears and disappears quickly before Taylor shakes his head as he comes out of his daze. He suddenly stands up and stands on all four legs just like it was second nature and begins to walk off the pain. Wait...he was walking?! He looks to twilight with a surprised gaze then a smile.

“Wow… that was amazing. Thanks a lot, Twi. I suppose magic does come in handy quite often huh?”

She gives off a small blush at his praise and thanks before she averts her gaze from him.

“Oh, it was no trouble...really. I just want to help you get used to being here is all. I still feel bad about you becoming a pony suddenly and not being about to at least get around. Anyway, I am needed in Canterlot. I will let Rarity show you around town and introduce you to the others> I am sure they can’t wait to meet you. Let’s hurry up and get to the princess, Spike. We need to pack a few things first.”

“On it!”

Rarity smiles as she tugs Taylor out the library by the large tuft of fluff on his chest. Clearly, she was excited to show him around and more importantly, eager to learn more about him personally.

“Come with me, sweetheart. I will give you the grand tour of Ponyville! I am sure we will bump into the others along the way~.”

Taylor wasn’t sure about this. They had already walked out the door that was too small for Taylor and other ponies were starting to give him strange looks. And when that happened in his world, he immediately felt like he was being judged
