God of War: Chains of Equestria
Kratos climbed the carefully carved marble steps, now stained red with blood of those who had fallen. He carefully kicked aside a body of a soldier that lie dead at his feet. He had no time to waste, for he had just fought his way out of Hades, and needed to get back to Olympus. He looked up towards the once grand temple of Olympia, now crumbling and in ruin from the fighting that had taken place. He walked up to the great wooden door and pulled the dead soldiers away from it, before swinging it open as he walked inside.
“So Kratos, you still resolve to slay them all? Each and every denison of Olympus? Your might is truly grand if you were able to slay the god of the Underworld himself.” The warrior looked around, before finally setting his eyes on an old man, who sat at the statue of Zeus.
“And just who might you be, to question if I wish to kill the gods?”
“You see Kratos, I am a god. My name is Phantasos.” The man looked not like a god, with his graying, ragged hair and beard, his thin frame, and his flesh, so malnurited that one could clearly see the bones underneath, though Kratos better than anyone knew that looks could be deceiving.
“Just try and stop me! I will let no one stand in the way of my quest to slay Zeus!” The Spartan walked over to the man and grabbed the top of his head, violently twisting it to the side. The cracking sound was proof enough for Kratos that the man was dead. He heaved the man at the wall of the temple, the old god’s body falling limp and lifeless against it. “Something is not quite right. A god should put up more of a fight than that.”
Kratos shrugged his feeling of doubt off and walked back towards the doors, somehow having closed behind him. “Was this the extent of this god’s power? He truly was old and frail.” Kratos pushed the doors of the temple open and stood in shock at what he saw. The world was now brighter, looking more like painting on a temple walk than the world he knew.
“What in the name of Zeus?” Kratos looked around, shocked by all that he saw. He quickly spun around to look for the old man’s body, though it was nowhere to be found. “Phantasos! What have you done?! What world have you brought me to?!”
“As I told you, Kratos, I can not allow you to slay anymore Gods. For if you do, the consequences shall be dire for you and the rest of humanity. You brought the Titans back to Olympus, so I will keep you here until Zues can deal with you himself.” The voice of the god echoed throughout the temple and the mind of the warrior.
Kratos quickly turned around and ran out of the temple, into the new bright city.
“And so you don’t find yourself bored here, Ghost of Sparta, I’ll give you a foe truly worthy of your skills.” Kratos hear a thunderous roar and a loud crashing from behind him. He quickly turned to see a large monster on top of the buildings. The scaled beast opened its maw, it’s jaws lined with hundreds of razor sharp teeth. It looked down at the warrior, watching him with its large, black, beady eyes.
“Is a Basilisk really the best you can do, Phantasos? I have slain many of them before, and I will not fail now!” Kratos swims his blades, latching into the beasts arms. The beast pulled against it as Kratos planted his feet and engaged in a battle of strength with the beast. The beast roared and loosened its body, allowing Kratos to pull it to the ground below. As the beast got up, he noticed spears sticking out of its back.
The Basilisk began to run down the street, Kratos swinging one of his blade, catching the spears on the beasts back. The creature dragged him along while he attempted to pull himself closer to the beast. He eventually reached the beast and hopped onto its back. As he looked around, he noticed horse wearing armor. “That is strange. Where are their riders?”
He realized he had no time to ponder this mysterious land. He sank his blades deep into the beasts neck and jumped from its head, swinging downward and forcing the beast’s face into the ground, bringing the rampage to a halt as it crashed into a building. As the Basilisk began to get up again, Kratos noticed a loose pillar above the beast, swinging his blades into the stone. He pulled, bringing the pillar smashing down over the head of the monster.
Kratos swung his blades into the momster’s eye and pulled it towards a large wooden shard that had fallen from the now destroyed building, forcing it deep into the head of the monster. Kratos stood there and roared as the blood of the monster showered out into him, covering him in the same deep crimson that stained the marble steps of Olympia.
“Do you see me, Phantasos?! Do you see what I am capable of?! I will find you and I will make you suffer, just like every god I meet!” Kratos let out a victorious roar once more, and stopped as he heard the sounds of cheering. He looked around again, the horses from earlier surrounding him and the carnage, as well as an assortment of others, cheering for their new savior.
“Well, I guess that is one way to deal with a Basilisk attack, no matter how ineloquent it may have been.” The man turned around to see a large, white horse, with a main and tail of rainbows.
“What strange world have I been brought to now?” Kratos thought to himself as the horse approached him.
“What may I call you, great warrior?”
The warrior opened his mouth and out flew the only word he could respond with. “Kratos.”
