A Magician’s Love
Starlight, So Bright
Previous ChapterA lone caravan sat on a dirt road outside of Ponyville. The beat up trailer had clearly seen better days, and the same could be said for the mare inside.
Trixie day on h her couch with a gaze that tore through everything in the room. Her eyes were puffy and red, indicating that the previous night was hard. Indeed, Trixie hadn’t slept so well last night.
She had the worst nightmare imaginable; Starlight Glimmer, her best friend, had gotten married to a prince, and moved away. Even though she woke up, the nightmare was an ever-present fixture in her psyche.
She couldn’t live if Starlight was gone.
She admired everything about the mare; her looks, her grace, her smile, and especially those eyes. The very eyes that both haunted and pleasured her at the very same time.
Trixie was in love, she was in love bad. Starlight was a literal beacon in her life, with all of her happiness being a product of Starlight’s seemingly endless grace.
Starlight didn’t know, no matter how many times Trixie wanted to tell her. The very words that filled her best dreams were also the words that haunted her very worst nightmares.
Trixie has shut herself in after the nightmare, and nopony had seen her in a day and half. It’s not liked anypony cared, however.
Apart from Starlight and Twilight, nopony loved or even acknowledged Trixie’s existence. She knew it, and just kept it all inside. Nopony would hear her cry even if she chose to. And even if they did, it’s not like the would even bat an eye.
Trixie rolled over into her couch and cried into the burgundy cushions. She wished that she could just fade away. She knew that everypony would like that.
Just then there came a rapping at her trailer door, but she chose to ignore it.
“Trixie? Are you home? It’s me, Starlight!”, said a voice that Trixie would call heavenly.
Trixie, despite her state, never ignored Starlight. It was almost like a code of honor, except with Starlight Glimmer.
Trixie tried to clean her eyes, but it was no use. They were just going to have to stay puffy.
She trudged towards the caravan’s entrance. She opened the door and was blinded by the sun. She gave an almost vampire like hiss towards the golden rays.
“Oh my gosh, what happened Trixie? You look awful! Do you need help?”, Starlight worriedly asked.
“No; I’m fine. It’s not like help would do me well, anyway”, Trixie said.
Trixie felt Starlights foreleg wrap around her and pull her in. Trixie gave in and began bawling into Starlight’s shoulder.
“It’s ok; I’m here. Let’s sit down”, Starlight led Trixie to her sofa and sat down.
Trixie plopped down and went back to crying into her secret loves shoulder. She never wanted leave Starlights grasp.
“Trixie, please tell me what’s wrong. I want to help you”, Starlight said sadly.
Trixie looked up into those eyes she loved dearly and eased up. Though she didn’t know it, Starlight’s eyes were Trixie’s happy place.
“W-W-Well *sniffle*, I just....I HATE MY LIFE!”, Trixie said before breaking down.
She planted herself on Starlight, who just sat there and stroked her mane, trying to calm her friends mind.
Starlight was beginning to cry herself, which caught Trixie’s attention.
“Trixie...don’t say that. You have no reason to hate your life, you have so much to live for”, Starlight said.
Trixie stood up and trotted go the window, as if trying to find a light. She began to speak....
“You’re wrong....Just...Wrong. I have nothing to live for, Starlight. I’m just a waste of space, and a waste of breath. Nopony loves me, and never will. I’m just a permanent villain, that’s my role. A laughing stock to ponykind and embarrassment to the princess. You shouldn’t even care about me, Starlight. You are beautiful and kind, you have friends who care, and you have a nice home. Me?; I’m just a failed magician who lives off hope and failure”, Trixie finished her lament.
Trixie fell to the ground and bawled hysterically. She expected Starlight to trot out the door, just like everypony else in her life did.
But that’s not what happened.
Trixie felt that familiar foreleg wrap around her again, this time with no effect in her tears.
“Trixie....you have a reason”, Starlight said with her own tears.
Trixie looked up and found the face that had made actually want to live, the face that made all her problems fade away.
“Trixie, you do have a purpose; Everypony does. I know where you’re coming from...I was just like you. Before I met you, I was doubtful that could live up to Twilight and be her student. I spent nights crying and dreaming, digging myself into a deeper hole every night. Then I met a mare who changed my life. This mare started off as a friend, but over time she has become more to me. I can’t stop thinking about her, I’m even thinking of her right now. Do you know who that mare is?”, Starlight asked.
Trixie thought she knew, but scolded herself for dreaming.
“It’s you...Trixie Lulamoon....I love you. You’ve changed my life in so many ways, and I can never thank you enough. Trixie, I’ve known of your love for me. I’m sorry that I’ve ignored it, I just didn’t know what to do. Now i know....I know that I want to spend the rest of my life with you. Your love, it’s powerful, it powers me. Trixie, please be mine...Forever”, Starlight confessed.
Trixie sprang up and locked lips with the pink mare. Starlight returned the kiss and wrapped Trixie into a passionate embrace. They were like that for a good hour, making every kiss meaningful.
“Trixie, I spoke to Twilight. She said that you can stay at the castle, with me. I want you with me always, because your face and smile fuels me to work. Please live with me, Trixie”, Starlight pleaded.
“Star, you don’t have to ask. As long as we are together, I’ll never leave your side”, Trixie said.
They then made out and hugged for what seemed like eternity, but the weren’t complaining.
“I love you, Starlight Glimmer”, Trixie said with tears of pure joy.
“I love you too, Trixe Lulamoon; Always and forever”, Starlight said lovingly.
THE END
