Chapter 8

I groaned in protest as the sun mercilessly assaulted my face causing me to mumble as I turned over. I moaned as I realised that I wasn’t getting back to sleep. Opening my crust filled eyes I gasped as last night came back to me.

Chrysalis was fast asleep on my knee, even when sleeping she retained a regal sense about her whilst Luna retained no dignity what so ever, drool dribbling down her chin as she snored loudly. I couldn’t believe my luck, two beautiful mares that truly cared for me and were everything I could want intelligent, strong, funny and weren’t afraid to get there hoofs dirty.

Luckily we had been too tired to engage in any lewd activities, not for a lack of trying but we had promptly collapsed as soon as we had gotten in the bed.

I noticed that despite the suns intrusion it was still relatively early the sun only just peaking over the horizon, the sky still pink. I gently slipped out of bed leaving the three to sleep as I got dressed in my casual wear, not wishing to wear my heavy metal armor in the heat that would follow. Despite it being early the summer heat was already starting to build and promised a blistering heat later on. I went into the bathroom to splash water on my face hoping to wash away the sleet and wet my lips.

"Hmm what an interesting creature you are" A voice suddenly said. Turning I was meet with my own reflection but something was off my eyes were yellow with red pin prick eyes, one significantly bigger than the other.

"What the fuck I yelped in shock causing me to trip over the bath tub and fall. I looked to the girls who incredulously were still asleep.

"Ah yes can’t have them waking up now can we" the jolly voice said.

"Who are you and what do you want" I asked in an authoritative voice slowly clambering to my feet as water coated me and the floor. The image of me disappeared revelling a dragon like creature his body made up of multiple animals parts.

"I am Discord spirit of chaos and disharmony, but let’s talk about you" he said chuckling as the mirror image pulled out a chair getting comfortable as he placed a pair of reading glasses on his elongated snout. He snapped his fingers causing a large tomb like book and started rapidly flickering though the pages

"Hmm, ahh here you are Richard a young male from the planet of earth. Ohh you are a vicious one aren’t you" he said snickering childishly as he flicked thought what I presumed was a file on me.

“What’s this," he said melodramatically,” Well what would you know you aren’t the goody two shoes that dear old celestia had you pegged as" he said a villainous laugh echoing around the bathroom.

“You’ve killed people, horrible kind of chaos murder is, one of the few cases of chaos that I won’t touch. I growled as the annoying freak started to get on my last nerve.

"Who are you to judge me I did what had to be done and killing unfortunately is one of them, also lecturing me about morals is kind of rich coming from you" Discord stopped his eyes slightly narrowing as a glass filled with a murky brown liquid materialised out of thin air.

"I unlike you have," discord gasped pausing briefly to throw his arm his head in mock horror

"Morals and would never resort to, murdering innocents" he said spitting out the last part like a vile poison. I sighed in frustration as the reptilian freak mocked me. I was tempted to shatter the glass as he made faces at me treating this conversation like a game. Discord drank the liquid before throwing the glass over his shoulder a violent explosion.

“You know you are selfish those two lovely mares yet even you admit that inside you have a hatred for them. Inside your warped twisted shell you despise them” he said grinning as I winced his words holding some truth.  I didn’t deserve them how could I when I couldn’t properly love them. My human side still disgusted by the fact that they were ponies, animals.

How could I be worthy of them when a small part of me hated them for being so care free, was disgusted by them for not being human. This ugly truth could never see the light of day, or maybe it would be best if it did then they would see the ugly side of me and realise that they could do better.

When Chrysalis and Luna had had sex with me; when we weren’t drunk, a small part of me was repulsed and that scared me. That deep inside despite my modern tolerance and questionable kindness there was an ignorant side that hated change.

“I must really thank you for realising me that all that hate, disgust and anger that was in your body severely weakened to seal. You see the seal was designed in mind for innocent happy ponies that very rarely express or feel the extreme emotions that humans are famous for. The fight that the banished changeling queen and the princess had was the final straw that broke the stallions back" he finished a smug grin on his face as he lazily examined his claws.

"By the way I believe that this belongs to you" He said snapping his fingers as my helmet materialised over my head landing on my head with a loud resounding bang and a yelp of pain as I nursed my injured head.

“I wonder what would happen if they found out what you think of them. Oh it would probably break their little fragile hearts” he said chuckling darkly as his eyes met mine daring me to challenge him.

"DISCORD" I winced as Luna’s voice tore though my ear drums nearly rendering me death as she glared at the dragon hybrid in the mirror.

"Lulu how have you been, it’s been so boring without you here," Discord laughed enjoying the look of unsuppressed fury that was etched on Luna’s face.

"HOW DARE THOU SHOW THOU FACE HERE, BEGONE FOUL CREATURE" her royal canterlot voice rattling off the walls of the castle. The sound of heavy hoofsteps could be heard as two alicorns entered the room followed by a still half asleep purple unicorn.

“Ah Cele I was just having ain interesting discussion with Richard here” he said laughing as I froze begging that he wouldn’t say a word.

"Discord" Celestia hissed her face matching Luna’s as she flared her wings. Chrysalis at this point was wide awake and was trying to get to me. Twilight stood bravely beside Celestia her eyes narrowing at the smug bastard though her shaking legs showed her nervousness. Discord paused his eyes widening indistinctly at the sight of Eclipse.

"What’s this, a new player to this cosy gathering and nightmare moon no less," he said giggling.

"I go by Eclipse now" Eclipse stated her eyes narrowing, her dislike for the childish spirit evident.

"Stop your foolishness NOW" Celestia shouted snorting in anger as Discord pouted.

"Oh sooo boring Celestia, what fun is there in being sensible" he whined his face contorting into a frown. Luna fired a spell at the mirror causing it to nearly shatter as large cracks formed on the stainless glass.

“Oh it seems that I have outstayed my welcome and seem to be heavily outnumbered whatever  shall I do, oh woes me" He said winking as his body started to fade out his sinister laughter echoing as he disappeared.

“Quickly the elements” Celestia shouted resulting in a miniature stampede as the six of us ran towards the throne room. I grabbed the laser riffle as I passed unsure if it would do anything against a powerful being like discord. Arriving we found the cocky bastard lodging about on Celestia throne.

“Ah you are finally here I was about to take a nap” he quipped laughing at our expressions.

“You will never get” Celestia’s words died in her throat as a roar sounded form behind us next thing I knew I felt a body slamming into mine as the assailant and me were flying. Kicking the thing off of me my mouth went dry as my face paled. There in front of me was Nex but something was up his body was bigger and his frame was far more muscular, his eyes glowed, hatred oozing off of his aura as his eye meet mine.

“I told you I would be back” he snarled his jagged teeth coated with fresh blood. Celestia and the rest were slowly getting into aggressive stances even discord looked troubled his childish persona gone.

“What are you doing here foul creature I banished you and your kind to the Everfree forest” Celestia demanded her body radiating power as Nex stood there smiling cruelly.

“Our master has broken the curse and soon all of Equestria will fall” he said chuckling hysterically as the outlines of Bloody hooves emerged from the shadows hundreds of them circling us. They were different this time though, bigger and stronger than the ones Chrysalis and I fought. The abominations grinned evilly as there dead eyes looked on with a ravenous hunger.

“Kill them” Two words was all it took to reduce the room to pandemonium as the monsters lunged a wave of black and red as we were nearly swarmed. The alicorns and discord were the main targets of the bloody hooves. twilight bravely faced the creatures herself whilst Chrysalis and I set our sights on Nex the smug bastard laughing at us.

I roared in agony as he crashed into me my weapon skidding across the floor being kicked left, right and centre by  multiple hooves. I slammed my fist into his jaw loosening a few of his teeth as his jaws clamped down on my wrist. I hissed in pain as his teeth punctured my skin blood seeping out as he violently shook his head. I head butted him wincing as his boned muzzle left a gash on my forehead. luckily he released my badly bitten hand in his dazed state.

Chrysalis slammed into his side causing him to stumble as she used her hooves like a battering ram slamming into his head swiftly.  Chrysalis fuelled by hatred jumped back avoiding the nasty blade like horn that Nex had glaring at him as she waited for him to make a move. Broken shards of glass wood and rock were used as shrapnel as Nex utilized his magic to the extreme throwing spells curses and various dangerous items as it became a deadly game of dodge ball. The battle around us was chaotic, fires coated the banners and curtains as large chunks of rock lay scattered around the large room.

The others were fighting brutally  even Discord wasn't playing about his magic obliterating Nex minions apart whilst he used his claws to dice anything that got to close. Celestia and Luan backed by Eclipse were working tighter to take down the tidal wave of undead. Twilight was slowly being backed into a corner as Celestia desperately tried to come to her aid.

Our fight with Nex was going worse than the last time we fought. He didn’t play with us or give us time to recover it was attack after attack and our defence were quickly falling.

“Chrysalis, get my gun I will hold him off” I roared over the deafening screams of the injured or dying. The royal guards who had arrived at the sound of battle were helping to stem the tide of the undead.

I slammed my foot into Nex throat causing him to splutter as he roared in unsuppressed rage, firing off a large beams of light. I dived to the right narrowly avoiding the light as the monsters behind me where vaporised.   I wheezed in pain as he knocked the air out of me sending me to the floor spluttering painfully as blood trickled out of my mouth as I felt my vision blurs faintly.

“I will kill you monster” Nex shouted charging at me his horn aimed right at me. I dodged as I nimbly leaped to the side retaliating by slamming into him using my body weight to my advantage as I pin him to the ground my fists a blur as I delver punch after punch. Nex roars in pain as his horn glows levitating a serrated spear behind me. With a flick of his head the spear speeds towards me

Crunch, splat

I froze my vision red as a near deafening ringing noise echoes around the room, as I unsteadily looked down to see the point of the spear extruding from my chest as blood pooled around me. My hands shake madly as I try to stay focused but the high pitched ringing increases in volume until it drowns out the sound of the battle. I cough violently vomiting as blood pours from my mouth, as Nex triumph face is all I see as my words starts to go black.

I slowly fall towards the ground my vision failing as I lose consciousness whispering the simple phrase

“Well fuck me” before all goes black.

Chrysalis pov

I cursed bitterly as I looked for Richards’s weapon knowing that it was probably our only chance at killing him. The princess’s could have probably taken him out but they were being swarmed by the creatures and our magic seemed to do little to them. This meant that just blasting them away didn’t work and meant that we had to dispatch them individually.

I tore the head of one of the morons as they tried to stop me there idiotic and pathetic attempts at thwarting my goal. I found the strange weapon it lay under a large pillar and seemed to be alright. Concentrating I allowed my magic to throw the pillar out the way as I grabbed the heavy weapon with my teeth grimacing at the bitter metallic taste.

Turning I sprinted in the direction that Richard was in. I saw him pinning the monster to the ground whilst he slammed his first into the creature rapidly causing me to smile maliciously as I took delight in the Nex pain. My smile fell rapidly when Richard froze, my face paled drastically as the weapon fell from my grasp. A large spear had been rammed though Richards heart blood pooling around him as I stood there rooted to the spot as the nightmarish scene before me unfolded.

Richard coughed violently blood flowing from his chest and mouth as he collapsed blood pooling around the wound as I screamed.

“RICHARD” I yelled tears staining my face as I tore that bastards pathetic minions apart determined to get to him and kill the monster.

“RICHARD” The cry of the others ran out but none louder than Luna’s as she witnessed the fall of our lover. Luna eyes turned a raven black as her hair turned violet seeming to be made of flames as tears streamed down her eyes.

“BASTARD WE SHALL SEE TO IT THAT YOU ROT IN TATARUSS AFTER WE HAVE TORN YOU APART” she screamed her voice shattering all the window panels as the massive room shook violently from her rage. Normally any pony would have stayed out of her way but I refused to allow her all the fun of killing the monster in front of us. Nex retreated slightly growling as we cut a bloody path though his slaves out sights set on him. Tears blurred my vision as I tried to suppress my sobs as the abomination stood there laughing at us albeit slightly hesitant laughter as we butchered his support Eclipse and Luna’s sister joining us.

I reached him first I latched myself onto his back my jagged hoofs acting like knifes as I tore and slashed at his body. My horn acted as a blade, cutting deep gorges as Nex hissed in pain. I snarled as he threw me off snorting wildly as I prepared to gorge him on my horn. Eclipse helped keep him at bay until Luna arrived her slitted eyes narrowed in hatred. Nex was soon retreating as we relentlessly chased him firing everything we had at him. Celestia was seeing to Richard trying to stop the stem flow of blood her eyes filled with worry as she worked quickly.

Our combined ferocity coupled with Luna’s devastating attacks soon had next badly injured, Blood pouring out of wounds as he desperately tried to shield himself from the attacks. With a final push Luna pinned Nex to the ground her armoured hoof crushing his wind pipe as he struggled widely.

“How did you get here and why” Luna hissed the ice coldness her voice causing Nex to shiver as he spat at Luna.

“My master needed a distraction whilst he obtained the required item and now his return is imminent” Nex broke out into hysterical laughter as we snarled at him. Lifting her hoof Luna brought it down with so much force that Nex skull cracked like an egg ending his manacle laughter as we were left in an eerie silence. The dead monsters and royal guards bodies lay scattered as Eclipse quickly extinguished the fires.

The purple unicorn Twilight walked with a bad limp her left eye swollen shut as blood tricked from her mouth. The rest of us were in no better shape all haven received injuries even discord’s right wing was severely damaged.

Something had been wrong in that fight six immortal beings and Richard should have been more than enough to deal with Nex and his guards.

“I have stopped the bleeding but that spear punctured one of his lungs and nicked an artery near his heart the fact that he is still breathing is a miracle on its own” Celestia said gravely her face struck with sadness as she looked at the unconscious Richard.

“I shall get help” Amazing this came from discord as he snapped his fingers disappearing only to appear later with a terrified doctor.

“You help him he is severely injured” Luna shouted at the doctor snapping him out of his stupor. The doctor with eh help of celestia put him on a stretcher and tore out of the hall heading for the Canterlot hospital.

“Sisters I have found the source of why we couldn’t utilise our full power” Eclipse said revelling an amulet on the dead high priest.

“This is a very rare amulet that are hard to obtain and even harder to enchant. It requires the sacrifice of an innocent but in return can weaken all that oppose the wearer” She finished snorting in disgust at the foul artefact.

“We care not for what that bastard had, what we wish to know is if Richard will make it” Luna said her eyes watering as she threatened to burst into tears at any second.  I was in no better position worry and grief struck as the uncertainty of Richards survival hung on the hoofs of canterlot’s Doctors and surgeons.

Then it struck us that Discord was in the same room as us and no one was caring. Surprisingly Discord looked uneasy his playful attitude gone as he frowned.

“Please do forgive me for asking Tia but weren’t those abominations meant to be bound to the Everfree forest” Discord asked causing Celestia to bare her teeth in aggression as he quickly rose his arms in mock surrender. Luna despite her grief left to check on this vault that Nex had mentioned as we stood there in an awkward silence nopony really knowing what to say.

Hours passed and Richard’s fate was indecisive, Richard the man who was able to do the impossible. I had always believed that my heart had no room for love, yet Richard unintentionally had made me fall for him. But what killed me was the fact that he knew not how to love and despite his kindness I saw that deep down a tiny part of him hated us for not having to deal with the horrors he had. From what he had told me of his world our world seemed like a paradise in comparison.

Hopefully he would grow to love me and then we could be equally happy. I still worried about Luna and whilst I was fine with sharing him I wouldn’t loss any sleep over him only choosing me. Twilights friends had shown up several if them sprouting bruises and cuts as they filled us in on the opposition that stopped them from reaching us. They were briefly startled by discord but pushed that aside when they heard about Richard.

The doctor appeared a frown on his face as he spoke

“I am regretful to inform you that his chance of survival is very low at the current time, his rate of survival is only about a thirty five percent” he paused for a few minutes allowing the heart breaking news to settle, before continuing

“With him being a different species we were sceptical at first but after rechecking it we have distinguished that Richard is only 28 years old” he finished flinching as we all gasped in horror.

From what I knew of Ponies there life cycle was about the same as changelings whom lived for around three hundred and sixty years not including royal changelings like me. Most mares and colts weren’t considered adults until they reached seventy seven years of age.

“He kin’t postibly be thet old thet'd make him yo'nger thet apple bloom by four years” The apple farmer said her eyes filled with horror as we realised that Richard by our standards was barely a colt by our standards.

I stood there my mouth wide open as words refused to form I closed and opened my mouth several times no noise leaving as coherent speech failed me.

Bile rose in my throat as I realised that we had taken advantage of a mentally and physical scarred colt. Due to me and the alicorns being near immortal it meant that age wasn't as big a factor but when the age was that young  it left me uneasy as it probably did with the others.

“Too think that one so young has experienced so much horror and cruelty, is heartbreaking” Fluttershy whispered her eyes brimming with tears as the words hit home to what we were all thinking.

“How could he still be sane after what he described to us” Luna whispered catching the attention of the others. I mentally sighed as the big question of what happened was asked which we sadly had to answer.

After we had told them about his dealings in the human world they were left horrified. Even discord as ancient as he was looked troubled, the evils and horrors of the human world unfathomable to us. We each told our own titbits of knowledge of Richard as the doctors worked furiously to save his life.

“Princess you may want to see this” The doctor called causing us to stop our eyes widening as we prepared for the worst. I entered last crowding around Richard whilst Discord respectfully stayed outside. I was shocked by Discords cooperation given his chaotic nature but given the situation I could understand. Richard body was still as ever but his closed eye were glowing a soft white.

“What is going on” I whispered as we waited for something to happen.

Richards’s pov

“Arise noble warrior of the six” I gentle voice whispered the power behind its voice evident as I clumsily climbed to my feet. Looking down I realised that the gaping hole in my chest was gone. Looking around I found myself in a white room of sort my vision blurry preventing me from seing anything clearly.

“Am I dead” I whispered my voice raspy as the shadowy figure was reeled a tall alicorn in white robes, her red hair cut short as she smiled at me

“No you are not dead” she answered calmly

“Joined a religious cult” I asked cynically my detestation still reserved for most religious cults. The Alicorn let out an affectionate laugh as she replied

“No you have not joined a cult either” She said chuckling at my pessimism.

“You are instead in my realm” She said mysteriously, motioning for me to follow her. I noticed that her cutie mark was that of an ink bottle and a quill.

“This realm has no boundaries and is the start and the end of everything that has ever transpired” she said as we walked along a magnificently crafted tiled floor, whilst I marvelled at the surroundings. The area was filled with floating hour glasses, scrolls and crystal balls.

“You see Richard I am Queen Faust, self appointed with the protection and guidance of time itself. I ensure that everything goes in accordance with time itself” she said causing my eyes to widen in astonishment.

“Wait does that mean” I was stopped by her answering for me

“That I am the mother of Celestia and Luna, yes my two Beautiful daughters and the creator of Equestria” She said causing me to gasp that I was in the presence of a god, shit did this mean that shit like astrology and religious nut cases were right. Seeing my shocked and slightly scared appearance she made me gasp as she uttered

“My dear Richard relax astrology is still, uh bull... shit I believe you say” She said causing me to chuckle incredulously at her swearing.

“Why am I here if I may ask the last think I remember was that prick stabbing me with that spear” I questioned stopping as she stuck her hoof out.

“Richard I can assure you that you are not dead. I have brought you hear to warn you of an evil far greater than anything that Equestria has ever faced. Genus Parricidium a monster from a different Equestria coated in evil and chaos. You see Richard whilst it is true that I created Equestria in doing that alone caused infinite other Equestria’s to be formed like your world and any other place. But not all are as peaceful as this one. You see when the monster started to gain power I realised that I would need to create a defence something that could combat the threat,” She showed me a scene of a nightmarish creature attacking the queen. The elements of harmony were the result, But it came at a price in order to use them to there full extent a harmony between the main sentient beings had to be established. Dragons griffons, nagga, diamond dogs, ponies and several other species had to unite to utilize the elements. Only by uniting the people of equestria can you hope to beat this creature. But first four gems scattered across Equestria are required. They are known as the abintra an will give the elements the charge they need." The Alicorn paused her eyes filled with a great sorrow as she looked at me nuzzling my check as she spoke.

“You hold such hatred in you that is unnecessary, you shy away from those offering friendship and most of all you refuse to let love in, even when  you yourself enjoy the result of that love”

“I leave you know Richard and hope that you will do what is right and help Equestria thought the coming storm” She finished as the room blurred her body melting in with the white background as soothing embrace of darkness covered me.

“I think he’s waking up”

“Come on Richard wake up”

“Give him some room to breath”

“Richard” The sudden cry caused me to tense as my eyes flickered open. I groaned as an agonising pain ran though my chest. I coughed my throat dry and raspy as I felt a cool glass being placed against my lips, a gentle voice whispering

“Drink you have been out for a while” I obeyed the voice and drank greedily my body crying in relief as the cold sensation of water ran though my body causing me to shiver in pleasure as I sluggishly wiped the sleet from my eyes. As my eyes adjusted to the light I saw to my relief that it was Celestia standing over me her motherly eyes filled with concern as I shakily tried to use my elbow to lift myself.

“What happened” I asked my voice sore as the stinging sensation in my eyes started to clear.

“You were hurt, badly!” Celestia said soberly her eyes  watering as she nuzzled me affectionately causing me to smile at her concern.

“I should try dying more often if I get this warm a reception” I said causing her and the other occupation  of the room to gasp. Realising that I wasn't alone I looked over Celestia to see Chrysalis, Luna, eclipse and surprisingly spitfire.

“Wow how long was I out” I asked dreading the answer as Celestia face grimaced

“Three weeks” she stated simply causing my eyes to dilate as I realised that I had been in a coma. I rubbed my hands against my face yawning as Celestia moved aside allowing the three forward. I nearly fell out the bed when I was assaulted by three pairs of hoofs each firmly holding a piece of me as they babbled out half strung sentences there face filled with relief and worry. I sat and gently eased them off of me my body still severely bruised from the fight.

“What happened after the spear” I questioned watching as their faces of relief where replaced with slightly nauseated expressions as they looked at each other as if waiting for one to come forward and tell me.

“We were enraged, horrified and grief stricken when you were hit. We lost control and... Nex is dead that’s all I will say” Chrysalis said her green face given me an inkling to what happened.

“Girls we need to talk”

Hours later

I finished telling the group about my vision there faces a mixture of shock horror and dread as I finished. Celestia and Luna were awestruck that I had talked to their mother and bombarded me with questions about the abintra, whilst Eclipse wished to know how we would find the pieces. Discord to my amazement had been hanging round the castle with the girls but had wisely kept a low profile whilst I was in a coma he being older than any of us had told us of rumours of the abintra.

I realised to my anger that Queen Faust had never told me how to get the first gem or how to work it so it would show me the other pieces locations. Now that I thought about it there were several parts of the story that had holes in them like; how did we use them, when would this creature return, how much time did we have and who were the other elements. I bit my lip in frustration as the others debated where in the castle the gem would most likely be. Hey it couldn't take us to long.

Weeks passed and we came no closer to figuring where any of the gems were I cursed myself for jinxing it whilst I scrolled thought what felt like the thousandth book, my eyes starting to water as boredom set in. To say that the situation was stressful would be a large understatement. I found that I had slight difficulty walking which meant that I was unable to use my power armor or the mech. This meant that I was confined to the castle until I had recovered properly.

Discord had managed some how to get into seven consecutive fights with both Luna and Celestia one resulting in Celestia and him duking it out using hoofs and claws instead of magic. Celestia ended up with large clumps of hair missing and a broken nose whilst discord nursed a swollen jaw and broken tooth. Had it not been so funny it would have been sad to see two immortal beings fighting like children.

Sadly fights between Luna and Chrysalis were the most frequent, due to my near death experience I was never alone for long as they guarded me day and night even taking to sleeping in the same bed as me, this unsurprisingly led to confrontation. There fights nine times out of ten were physical rather than magical. After a particular nasty fight Chrysalis trotted proudly down the stairs her hair tangled and missing chunks and her left eye swollen shut whilst Luna tried to cover her flank that now sprouted a nasty bite mark with her tail, her face bruised and bleeding.

The Fights usually ended the same way as well one of them storming off whilst the other grabbed me and ended up having angry sex to unwind and lower massive stress levels,  which I will not deny was the best kind of sex. From what I could tell the beating the crap out of each other seemed to release a lot of the built up rage and they never went too far so I just stayed out of it as much as possible, stopped any nasty fights and  got angry sex as a reward. Whilst I admit that having a sexual relationship with a pony shaped creatures was weird and could be seen as disgusting by some. It was still only sex at the end of the day and given that I have been in the army and the fact that I truly care for these girls I’m not one to be picky.

I was sore and stiff as this routine showed no signs of stopping. Chrysalis and Luna did not hate each other they often had quite debates and seemed to at least tolerate the other which made my life easier.

“Richard we have been meaning to ask thou a question” Luna asked as Chrysalis grunted in agreement lying on her side behind me her body acting as a comfy pillow as I flicked though “history of Canterlot castle” whilst stroking her neck gently, a action which surprisingly both mares loved.

“What's up” I asked noticing the discomfort in her eyes as she licked her lips nervously.

“We wished to know how it is that one so young has had to experience so much death and destruction” She said causing my eyebrow to rise at the question of my age.

“Hey I’m twenty eight years old, I'm not that young I joined the army when I was nineteen” I said in a huff.

“Richard, your age makes you barely a colt by our standards, twilight and her friends are in there early sixties whilst spitfire is in her late seventies. Luna is more than four thousand years old, whilst I am eighteen hundred and fifty six years of age. By our standards Richard you are younger than most colts, fillies and changeling's in preschool” she finished my eyebrows now both in the air as my confusion turned to mock horror.

“You mean I have been doing the nasty with a pair of old grannies then” I asked laughing as Chrysalis raised her head biting my ear hard, snorting at me in annoyance. Luna growled baring her teeth, her eyes narrowing at my arrogant grin.

“Take that back” She whispered lowering her front legs to the ground whilst her rump wiggled like a cat about to pounce. Looking her in the eye and with deliberation, whispered the words that sealed my fate,

“No” I yelped in fear as I inelegantly dived to the side narrowly avoiding the deadly blue blur that streaked past me. Chrysalis jumped to her feet blocking my only exit as the two mares boxed me in. This turned into a game as I tried to coax one of them into charging in so I could escape but they know me to well and never did anything brash waiting for me to slip up as they slowly advanced.

Chrysalis Dived at me a second to soon miscalculating her distance I was able to leap over her and high tale it out the room the two mares in fast pursuit as we laughed like children. The girls had the distinct advantage with speed and stamina, whilst my agility and opposable thumbs allowing me to jump and throw myself over obstacles that the girls had to go round.

Celestia smiled at me warmly as I came tearing down the large corridor her smile turning into a smirk when she saw my pursuers. I gasped in horror as she stuck out her foot my eyes widening as the back stabbing bitch chucked, before I went arse over tits landing on my face as the two caught up to me. Before I had time to recover the two were dragging me away by the scruff of the neck like a pair of wolfs that had caught a deer, discussing plans of what to do to me. I was glad to see that they were getting on if only briefly and at my expense.

I gasped as I collapsed next to the two panting mares as I tried to catch my breath. I looked up at the beautifully decorated ceiling as Luna fidgeted next to me, cuddling up against me her fur damp with sweat. Fatigue came swift and quick as I sluggishly the light of day fading as I noticed Luna's horn glowing. My eyes closed as I drifted off thoughts of the gems and the the monster weighing heavily on my mind.
