Duel Two. Photon Overload vs Insect Lord
After the break, I walked back into the arena to see a young man with slightly spiky purple hair with green highlights that reminded me of a dragon’s spines in a white button-down shirt and baggy black pants. When he saw, me enter the area he smiled and said. “I’m glad you challenged me. As I watched your match, I got a strong urge to see what you can do myself. Names Spike by the way.”
Before I could reply the door on the other end of the arena burst open and a young teenager with messy light green hair, yellow glasses, a green coat with a black snail on it, with black pants, brown boots, with a standard Kaiba Corp Duel Disk on his arm, walked into the arena. Cackling at some unknown joke. “Hehehehehe. Sorry I’m late, but now that I’m here we can have our match Spike.”
I walked over to Spike asked. “You know that guy?”
Spike nodded. “That’s Snails, we’re acquaintances but I’ve never seen him act like this. He’s not the kind of guy to just barge into an official event like this.” As Spike was talking Snails adjusted his glasses with his right hand and I noticed that there was a glowing number twenty glowing on his hand. Spike noticed my, now serious expression. “You okay?”
“I think I know why he’s acting like this, but I don’t have time to explain.” I said when I felt a hand on my left shoulder I saw a tall muscular woman with blue hair, a black band on her forehead which doubled as an eye-patch with a small skull emblem, and wore a leather corset, leather armbands and white cloth wrapped around her in such a way that her toes were exposed. “Amazoness Queen?” I gasped, at this Spike turned to look and a small smile appeared on his face.
“Don’t worry. You’ve got this, after all, we’ve got you back.” She said in a gruff, powerful, and slightly masculine voice before disappearing.
I looked at Spike and said. “Mind if I take this?”
“Go right ahead.” Spike replied.
“Stop ignoring me! You! Get out of here so I can defeat Spike!” Snails commanded.
After taking a deep breath I put on the cockiest smirk I could. “I would, but if you want to duel him you’ll have to play by the rules, and since we both want to duel him I guess we’ll have to duel to see who fights him. And since that’s the case, I guess this is the start of a brand-new round so I hope you don’t mind if I change decks.” As I spoke I took my Amazoness deck and replaced it with my Photon deck.
Snails snarled before taking his place on the arena as Spike walked of the field and sat on a bench next to the wall. “I’ll squash you flat.”
“Just try it. Although I was hoping to save this deck for special occasion. Guess beating you will have to do.” I said as we drew our cards. (Hmm. Interesting first hand.) I thought, as I looked at Galaxy-Eyes Photon Dragon, Photon Caesar, two Photon Satellites and Galaxy Zero.
Snails 4000
“I’ll go first! First, I’ll play the spell Double Summon so I can normal summon twice this turn. I summon Bachibachibachi and Arsenal Bug in attack mode but they won’t be around long because I’ll now use my two level three bugs to build the Overlay Network and Xyz summon Number 20: Giga-Brilliant !” As Snails spoke an incredibly pissed off bee with sparks dancing on its body appeared next to a somewhat skeletal looking bug with a sword and shield in it hands, before they both turned into small yellow spheres and flew into a dark purple vortex that appeared before Snails. A few moments after the spheres entered the vortex a large pillar with pink veins on it rose out of the vortex with the two spheres orbiting it. Then the pillar began transforming into a silver and dark red insect with a large yellow twenty on its right wing. *Attack 1800, Defense 1800*
“Since I used Bachibachibachi to Xyz summon Giga-Brilliant gains the ability to deal you damage even if your monsters in defense mode. Now I’ll end my turn with two face down cards. Let’s see what you’ve got you, pesky little slug.” Snails said.
Snails 4000
“My turn. I’ll start things off with Graceful Charity so I draw three cards then discard two.” When I drew the cards I was pleased to see Galaxy Wizard , Reinforcements , and Photon Lead . I discarded Photon Caesar and Galaxy-Eyes Photon Dragon. “Now I Summon my Photon Wizard in attack mode *Attack 0, Defense 1800* Next I activate the spell Photon Lead, which allows me to summon another light attribute monster as long as its level four or below so here comes my Photon Satellite !” *Attack 0, Defense 0* As I spoke a tall figure in white robes, and black cape, a single glowing red eye and holding a golden scepter appeared and high above us a machine made of white metal with a glowing light blue core and blue fins appeared and began to slowly rotate.
Snails laughed. “That’s the best you can do? Two monsters with zero attack points?”
I smiled before replying. “Who said I was done? I activate my Wizard’s special ability to increase its level by four making it a level eight monster. Then I’ll use my Satellite’s ability to make both its and my Wizard’s level the sum of their current levels making them both level nine.”
Snails looked shocked at this. “Two level nine monsters so quickly could only mean…”
“Yup now it’s MY turn to Xyz summon! I overlay both my level nine monsters to build the Overlay network and Xyz summon, Number 9: Dyson Sphere!” As I spoke my two monsters became yellow spheres and flew in the same vortex that Giga-Brilliant appeared from but much to everyone’s surprise nothing came out of it.
“What’s the deal? Where’s your monster?” Snails asked.
Instead of answering him I smirked and said. “Is it possible to open the dome and get some sunlight in here?” After I said this the dome above us slowly opened revealing the blue sky.
“What does that accomplish?” Snails inquired.
“Look up and you’ll see.” I replied with a smile on my face.
When he did he gasped a long with the audience when they also looked up. “Behold my monster. Behold Dyson Sphere !” *Attack 2800, Defense 3000* I exclaimed as everyone looked in awe at a satellite so large it easily held the sun in its center.
Everyone in the audience began murmuring to each other as Spike whistled in awe, I even heard someone scream, “WHAT IS THAT THING? IT’S GIGANTIC!”
When Snails composed himself he barked out. “I activate my trap Threatening Roar so you’re not allowed to attack this turn.”
I shrugged. “I’ll play a card face down and end my turn then.”
Snails 4000
“Draw! I play Card of Sanctity so we both draw until we have six cards in our hand. Next, I’ll summon Pinch Hopper in attack mode. *Attack 1000, Defense 1200* I play the spell Multiplication of Ants so I can sacrifice Pinch Hopper to summon two Army Ant Tokens but this also activates Pinch Hopper’s ability allowing me to summon any insect from my hand. I summon the Insect Queen and for every insect on the field she gains two hundred attack points!” As he spoke a large grasshopper like monster appeared before it exploded and a large insect with a blue and red carapace and two small green ants. *Insect Queen Attack 2200, Defense 2400 now Attack 2800. Army Ant Tokens Attack 500, Defense 1200* “Next I’ll activate my trap DNA Surgery to make every monster on the field an insect, so Insect Queen gets even more power and I’ll also play the spell Insect Barrier so your monsters can’t attack” *Insect Queen Attack, 3100* “Now I’ll use one Overlay Unit so Giga-Brilliant can use its special ability so all of my monsters gain three hundred more attack points.” *Insect Queen, Attack 3400. Giga-Brilliant Attack, 2100. Army Ant’s 800*
“Even though I won’t be able to destroy your monster because my Queen’s not a Number, I’ll still have my Insect Queen attack, but to do so I have to sacrifice one of my Army Ants!” At this Insect Queen leaned down and began eating one of the two ants and when it was done it roared and parts of its shell lifted as its wings began to buzz. * Insect Queen, Attack 3100*
“So Numbers play by the same rules as in the anime? Interesting, but the question is how did he get a Number in the first place. ” “Sorry to break it to you but once per turn, when Dyson Sphere has an Overlay unit it can negate any attack so all you did make your Queen weaker.” As Insect Queen’s buzzing died down.
“Grrr I end my turn.” Snails growled.

“My draw! First I activate my spell Galaxy Zero to resurrect the Photon Caesar I sent to the graveyard with Graceful Charity in attack mode however it can’t attack or use its ability.” A large hand in blue armor shot out of the ground and Photon Caesar began to pull itself out of the ground. Photon Caesar is taller than Insect queen in royal blue armor but both his sword and shield here broken and unusable, but he still stood tall ready and waiting. *Attack 2000, Defense 2800 now Attack 0* “Now when I have a Photon or Galaxy monster on the field I can normal Summon the level eight Galaxy Knight in attack mode, and now that he’s been successfully summoned I can use his ability!” A knight in gleaming silver armor armed with a long sword and standing on a flying kite shield appeared and raised his sword high into the air while it and his armor gleamed from the sun's light. *Attack 2800, Defense 2600*
“Which is?” Snails asked as he crossed his arms.
I rolled my eyes at his inpatients, “I was getting to that. First I can target any Galaxy-Eyes Photon Dragon in my grave and return one to my field in defense mode, next even if I don’t summon anything Galaxy Knight losses one thousand attack points until the end of the turn.” *Attack 2800 now 1800*
“To bad you don’t have any of these dragons…. Wait you didn’t!” Snails said before realization slowly dawn on his face.
“Yup same with Photon Caesar I sent my dragon to the grave with Graceful Charity!” A large red metallic cross appeared before me and as I threw it high into the air I yelled . "Here comes the monster more savage than a supernova! With a cataclysmic force of ten black holes put together! A cosmic scourge that vaporizes anything in its path: Galaxy-Eyes Photon Dragon !" With a loud echoing roar, Galaxy-Eyes appeared before landing behind me, with its body glowing blue except for its black armor Galaxy-Eyes was definitely an intimidating sight. *Attack 3000, Defense 2500*
“It doesn’t matter how strong your monsters are. Did you forget about my Insect Barrier and now that you have three new monsters my Queen gains six hundred more attack points!” Snails said. *Insect Queen, Attack 3700*
“Of course, I didn’t forget but it’s not going to matter in a moment! Did you really think I would spend all this time just to power up your insect?” I asked. “Think about it I just summoned three level eight monsters, which means…”
Snails went pale. “Another Number.”
“Your right about the Xyz Summons but wrong about me summoning a Number! I overlay my Galaxy Knight, Photon Caesar, and Galaxy-Eyes Photon Dragon to build the Overlay Network and Xyz summon!” Galaxy Knight and Photon Caesar became yellow spheres while Photon Dragon became a dragon shaped tower of energy as the three rose into the sky and disappeared in the vortex and a blue spear with a forked point appeared which I grasped in my right hand before throwing it will all my might into the vortex with my three monsters. "Prepare to witness the mightiest of monsters! With the power of this beast, this battle is over! Arise Neo Galaxy-Eyes Photon Dragon!" *Attack 4500, Defense 3000*
With a defining roar a three-headed red dragon descended from the vortex. “Now it’s time to open the way for my attacks! You see when Galaxy-Eyes Photon Dragon is used as an Overlay Material to summon Neo Galaxy-Eyes Photon Dragon, my dragon gains the ability to permanently negate the abilities of all other face up cards on the field! Go Photon Howling!” Neo Galaxy-Eyes Photon Dragon gave an earth-shaking roar that was so powerful you can see red waves of sound. *Giga-Brilliant, Attack 1800, Insect Queen, Attack 2200*
“I can’t believe this! Did you have all of this planned from the start?” Snails yelled in disbelief.
“Not this exact strategy but the end goal will be the same. Your defeat!” I exclaimed. “Now I activate Neo Galaxy-Eye’s second ability. By using one Overlay Unit Neo Galaxy-Eye can send every Overlay Unit on your side of the field to the grave and he not only gains five hundred attack points for each but he can attack up to the same amount of Overlay Units sent to the grave this turn!” I said before pointing at him. “Neo Galaxy-Eyes destroy his Giga-Brilliant with Ultimate Photon Stream of Destruction!” *Attack 4500 now 5000*

“NO! THIS CAN’T BE HAPPENING!” Snails screamed.
“It can, and it is, but before Dyson Sphere attacks I’ll use my trap Reinforcements to give it five hundred more attack points, now destroy his Insect Queen with Brilliant Bombardment!” I ordered and balls of plasma shot out of the sky and exploded around Insect Queen who roared in pain when the first few hit before exploding herself and the force of the explosions pushed Snails off the ground a threw him a short distance where he just lay there stunned.

As I looked at Snails a glowing blue card floated out of his chest with a yellow 20 on it before it shattered and disappeared. I took a deep breath right when Spike walked up and slapped me on the back with a large grin on his face sending me into a coughing fit since he knocked the air out of me. “That was both incredibly brutal and an amazing duel! You never even gave him a chance to attack. And here I thought your Amazons were going to be your only surprise.”
“I’ve got a few more surprises but unfortunately Snails interruption made me a bit mad and I learned a long time ago not to duel when I’m mad… Heck I consider what I did to him to be overkill. We’ll have to wait before you and I can have our match.” I said with a smile but my thoughts didn’t match my expression. “First, I’m sent here, then I find out my Duel Disk’s now real, next the anime version of a Number shows up before it, but why did Giga-Brilliant shatter? Was is a fake? Nothings adding up, just what the heck is going on? ”
“Suite yourself, but as far as I’m concerned you deserve the grand prize after that match if for no other reason than how pumped the crowd is now. I don’t think I’ve ever heard them this excited. Do you hear them cheering?” He asked, and as my adrenalin died down the roar of the crowd hit me before I heard Celestia say.
“What an incredible duel! Who knew Seto had not one but two decks of never before seen cards and I don’t know about you but I can’t be happier about how this event turned out! However, I’m sad to say that Seto has just announced that he will no longer challenge Spike, but Spike just said that he still deserves the grand prize. Do you all agree with him?” The audience gave the loudest cheer yet. “In that case, Spike will you please lead him to the winner’s circle?”
“Never thought I would ever tune everything out just for a duel. ” I thought chuckling as I followed Spike to a pedestal that had a large sheet that covering it. When Spike pulled the sheet away he revealed two small clear boxes, but it’s what was in the boxes that surprised me. The one on the left held the monster Barrel Dragon and the other one had the Dark Magician . “Here we have the Barrel Dragon and Dark Magician. Which one will Seto choose?” Celestia said.
“These are cards from the new set? Can’t say I was expecting this but I still know which one I’m choosing .” I thought before I reached out and grabbed the box containing the Dark Magician.
“There you have it, Seto has chosen the Dark Magician which brings an end to our event, but before you leave we thank both the audience for coming to watch and the duelists who gave us some of their valuable time. All of you have made this event an overwhelming success! We will also be releasing the latest Duel Monster set later this week so be sure to keep an eye out.” Celestia said.
While the crowd gave another cheer, Spike nudged my shoulder and when I looked he motioned for me to fallow. We soon arrived in a large office, where two women one of whom is Princess Celestia and six teenage girls were waiting and much to my surprise one of the girls was Rainbow Dash. Princess Celestia’s talking to a woman in a dark blue business suite and her hair looks almost exactly like the night sky.
The first of the teenagers has long straight dark purple hair a light blue buttoned shirt, knee length magenta skirt and has a perfect copy of Yusei Fudo’s Duel Disk on her arm. The girl on her left’s hair is a slightly darker shade of purple and is elegantly curled over her left eye, she’s wearing a crystal-blue dress that ended just below her knees with a light purple version of Anna Kaboom’s D-Pad from Yu-Gi-Oh ZEXAL. The girl next to her is wearing a yellow shirt under a red vest, dark green jeans and is wearing a standard Kaiba Corp Duel Disk on her arm.
On Rainbow’s left is a girl with a white shirt with a large pink heart on it, pink sweat pants, and is wearing a light pink version of the Yu-Gi-Oh ZEXAL D-Pad . The last girl is wearing a light green version of the dress the second girl’s wearing and has a copy of Akiza’s old Duel Disk on her arm. When Spike and I walked into the room Celestia stopped mid-sentence and looked at us. “Hello, Mr. Kaiba. Please take a seat. We have a lot to talk about.”

The main reason for this curb stomp is I don't like Weevil Underwood and I felt like Snails would be a good stand in for him. Oh and the reason I included the summoning chant for Galaxy-Eyes is simple. I like the summoning chants so I'll include em

Duel Three. Feel The Heat vs Strength of the Earth
I sighed. “That phrase is almost always followed by a very long and boring conversation. Let me guess you want to know about who I am, where I got my cards, the numbers, and more. Am I right? well to summarize a few things, I’m from another world and was sent here after I picked up a field spell called ‘Equestria’ that said ‘A world like you’ve never imagined. Have fun and keep your eyes open for you never know who you might run into.’, my plastic custom made Duel Disk is now real and I have no idea where the card came from or how I can go home. Does that answer a few of your questions?”
Everyone just gave me a blank stare before Celestia slowly said. “I was just going to ask about the Numbers, but before we continue let me introduce my sister Princess Luna and our friends, Twilight Sparkle, Applejack, Rarity, Pinkie, Pie, Fluttershy and you already know Rainbow Dash.” As Celestia said then names each person either gave a nod in my direction or a small wave. “Before you arrived our paramedics sent word that Snails woke up and doesn’t remember anything from the last two hours and that the Number he used disappeared. What do you know about this?”
“Plenty but where I’m from Numbers only had this power in a T.V. show. Numbers are powerful cards that were once part of a being called Astral, but when he arrived on Earth all but one left him, and with them his memories. They start blank and gain powers based on the desires of the first person who obtains them. Most of the time the Numbers process the owner and make their desire run wild. As for where the Number went, I saw it shatter after I beat Snails, which by itself raises even more questions.” I sighed before continuing my explanation.
“In the show, it’s said that one hundred split from Astral, but only ninety-two of those Numbers have been revealed, and seven Numbers that go over a hundred which were made by Astral’s enemy Don Thousand which he used to corrupt humans and turn them into his pawns. That’s a very brief summarization because the whole story would take a long time to tell. We’ll have to be on the lookout because I highly doubt that Snails is going to be the only one to get his hands on a Number, but since it shattered I’m pretty sure that means it was a fake.”
“That shouldn’t be too much of a problem. We should be able to take them easily enough.” Luna said to which I shook my head.
“From what Snails said when he tried to attack Dyson Sphere, the Numbers work the same way they do in the anime, where only a Number can destroy a Number in battle, and I really hope that all of the Numbers that appear shatter like that. Otherwise we’d have to take them and I only know of two ways to do that. One way’s safe but because only Astral is able to do it and the other one puts the owner in a bad state.”
“How bad are we talking about here?” Spike asked.
“They would lose part of their souls. Permanently.” I deadpanned.
Everyone stared at me horrified before Fluttershy asked in an attempt to change the mood. “Do you have any family waiting for you back home?”
I shook my head sadly before saying. “My mom and dad died a three years ago from old age and my younger sister Kisara disappeared a year before they passed.”
“Sorry about bringing it up.” Fluttershy said quietly.
“It’s not a problem, besides I haven’t given up trying to find Kisara. Who knows she might even be in this world, I certainly didn’t have any luck finding her in mine.” I replied raising a hand to grasp the locket.
“I hope you don’t mind if we return to the main topic, but after what you told us something’s been bugging me. How come you weren’t possessed by your Number?” Luna asked, but before I could say something Spike replied.
“I believe it’s because of his bond with the spirits in his cards. Before he dueled Snails, Amazoness Queen appeared and told him that the spirits of his deck have his back, and by the way you reacted I’d hazard the guess that was your first time seeing a Duel Spirit.”
“You’re right, where I’m from Duel Spirits only existed in the anime. So, it’s an amazing experience to see one in person.” I said. “To bad I left all of my other cards at home. I would have loved to see some of my other decks come to life.”
“Are there any specific decks?” Rarity asked.
“My Crystalline Rainbow deck, but then again I always enjoy finding new ways to use my Magical Teamwork deck and my Ghostly Party deck is always fun to use. One reason why I loved watching the anime is because it makes a great starting point for different archetypes, and before you ask I’m not telling you what kinds of decks they are. You’ll just have to settle with knowing their names.” I explained, and to everyone’s surprise Galaxy Wizard appeared. They didn’t say anything as they held out their hand. Their hand glowed light blue for a moment before I started glowing as well. When the glow died down Galaxy Wizard gestured to my right which now held a deck before disappearing. When I looked through it I was surprised to see that it’s my Crystalline Rainbow deck. “Well that just adds even more questions, but my biggest ones are still. Why am I here? Why did this happen to me? And of course, where is my sister?”
Luna sighed before saying. “I’m sure we’ll get the answers eventually. We’ve kept the eight of you long enough. We’ll let you know if we find anything about how you were sent here Seto.”
After we left the room Pinkie said. “Why don’t we show you around Canterlot? After that we can all head to the Sugarcube Corner to have some snacks.”
“Sounds fun, but where am I going to sleep tonight? I can’t go to a hotel since I don’t have any of this worlds money.” I asked.
Rainbow smirked. “You can bunk with me. Besides this way, you won’t be able to escape our rematch.”
I returned the smirk. “Let’s hope you don’t regret it when I win our rematch.” Rainbow and I glared at each other before the eight of us burst out laughing. “Before you show me the town give me a moment to put my Duel Disk and coat in my bag.”
*Three hours later*
After showing me around Canterlot City the eight of us are now standing in front of a bakery called the Sugarcube Corner. After we finished our food I agreed to have a duel with Applejack. “Hope you’re not planning on using more unknown cards Seto.” Applejack said as she started her Duel Disk.
“How am I supposed to know what cards you know what kind of cards you know of and which you don’t?” I asked as I started my Disk. “Considering I went second the last two duels how about I go first? But how many life points do we get out here? 4000 or 8000?”
“8000 and I was going to suggest the same thing.” Applejack replied to which I nodded and summoned a new deck.
“Go Applejack! Show him who’s boss!” Rainbow cheered along with the rest of her friends.Snails
Seto 8000
I rolled my eyes before drawing my hand. “First, I’ll play two cards face down then summon Volcanic Slicer ,” *Attack 1800, Defense 1200* “And I’ll use his special ability to deal you an immediate 500 points of damage!” A tall T-rex looking creature with stone like body segments appeared before shooting a fireball at Applejack which exploded at her feet.

“You don’t see many people using Volcanic monsters that often.” Twilight said.
“Why's that?” Pinkie asked.
“The Volcanic Archetype doesn’t have many support cards so it can be somewhat difficult to make a good deck that focuses on it.” Twilight replied.
“While that is true Twi, that doesn’t mean they can’t work in other kinds of decks.” Spike replied.
“You’ll move Applejack.” I said.
Seto 8000
“Draw. I’ll also play two cards face down, then I’ll play the spell card Fissure to destroy you’ll Slicer. Next I’ll summon one monster face down and end my turn.” Applejack said.
Seto 8000
“My turn. I summon Volcanic Rocket and when he’s summoned I can bring one Blaze Accelerator to my hand from my deck or graveyard.” This time the creature that appeared was more like a pterodactyl and a glowing card stuck out of the deck and after I grabbed it my deck re-shuffled. “Now Volcanic Rocket, destroy her face down monster!” *Attack 1900, Defense 1400*
“Sorry Seto but all you did was activate my Medusa Worm’s ability which lets me destroy any monster on your field, so say good bye to your Rocket, and I’ll activate my face down Tiki Curse and Tiki Soul trap cards.” A large purple worm shot out of the ground and swallowed my Volcanic Rocket before falling to the ground on its side and shattered, and two stone statues appeared. The first one has two red eyes and his holding two thin staffs and the second has four blue eyes and is holding a sword and shield. “One these traps are activated they become monsters so I’ll place my Tiki Curse in attack mode and my Tiki Soul in defense mode. *Tiki Curse; Attack 1800, Defense 1000. Tiki Soul; Attack 1000, Defense 1800*
“Now both my Tiki’s have abilities. As long as Tiki Curse is on the field your monsters destroyed if you battle another trap monster and as long as Tiki Soul’s on the field if you destroy a different trap monster they’re placed face down instead of being sent to the grave.”
“I’m surprised you’re being out that combo so quickly Applejack.” Pinkie said. “Guess that show’s how serious you’ll taking this duel.”
“Can you blame her?” Rarity asked. “After seeing him duel in the event, even if it’s for fun we shouldn’t underestimate him.”
“Yeah! And now he’s defenseless.” Rainbow cheered.
“You’re still a little sore you lost, aren’t you?” Fluttershy asked. Rainbow pouted and looked away while everyone else chuckled at her reaction.
“I wouldn’t say I’m defenseless because I activate my trap Ultimate Offering . This lets me pay 500 life points to summon a monster so I’ll pay 1000 life points to summon two Solar Flare Dragons !” Two red serpent like dragons that are covered in fire appeared and roared at Applejack. “I hope you weren’t planning to attack because as long as I have a pyro type monster on my field you can’t attack any monster apart from my dragon and since I have two you can’t attack at all, plus whenever I end my turn each of my dragons will deal you 500 points of damage!” *both dragons; Attack 1500, Defense 1000*
Seto 7000
At this Applejack’s eyes widen in shock and recognition. “A burn damage deck!”
“OH NO! Applejack’s deck isn’t built to counter burn damage!” Twilight gasp.
“Your move Applejack and don’t forget the thousand points of damage.” I said.

“Draw, I activate my field spell Molten Destruction so all my fire monsters gain 500 attack points but lose 400 defense points.” *Flare Dragons; Attack 2000, Defense 600* As soon as I played the card the city vanished and was replaced with us standing at the base of an erupting volcano as fire and smoke billowed into the sky while rivers of lava bubbled all around us. “Now I’ll have my first dragon attack your Tiki Curse then my second one will destroy your Tiki Soul then end my turn and don't forget about my dragon's abilies.” My dragons dove into the lava and disappeared before one lepted out and smashed his tail into Tiki Curse which fell to the ground on its face and turned back into a card while Tiki Soul was shattered by the other dragon.

“My turn and I’ll reveal my face down Morphing Jar #2 . Now all our monsters return to our decks and we reshuffle them. Then we draw cards until we special summon the same number of level four or below monsters we currently have on our fields, in attack more or face down, and all other cards we draw go to our graveyards.” After we shuffled our decks I had to send a Tri-Blaze Accelerator ,Backfire , Volcanic Doomfire , and King Pyron and summoned a Volcanic Slicer in attack mode and a Volcanic Shell face down. Applejack got her monster on the first draw and placed it face down. "And I'll end my turn. *Slicer now Attack 2300, Defense 800*

“Nice one AJ!” Rainbow cheered.
“Draw. I’ll use Volcanic Slicer’s ability and end my turn.” I said after weighing my odds and deciding it’s not worth the risk of attacking her monster.

“My turn, and I start with Card of Sancity so we both draw until we have six cards in our hands. Then I banish the Alpha the Electromagnet Warrior , Beta the Electromagnet Warrior , and Gamma the Electromagnet Warrior from my hand to summon Berserkion the Electromagna Warrior !” Three bipedal robotic soldiers appeared. The first has a silver body and is holding shield in his left hand and a twin bladed sword both of with is corseting with electricity. The second is bronze, has a slightly hunched posture and its ‘hands’ are nothing more than red cylinders and four magnet like fingers. The last one is shorter than the other two made of a teal metal, has large circular shoulders with spark dancing over them. Then the three then came a part and fused into one tall robotic solder with aspects of all three of them.
“So how does it feel to surprise me with new cards?” I asked much to everyone’s surprise. “Back home we had Valkyrion the Magna Warrior and the three that combined to make it but that’s about it when it comes to magnet warriors.”
Applejack quickly shook off her surprise before saying. “Now Berserkion destroy his Volcanic Slicer with your Lightning Conducting Sword!”
“I activate my trap, Two-Pronged Attack ! By sacrificing both of my monsters I can destroy your Warrior!” As I spoke my face down Volcanic Shell revealed itself as a small lizard like creature made from the same stone as my other Volcanic monster, before they leaped at Berserkion causing a massive explosion.
“I should thank you Seto. You see once Berserkion is sent to the grave by battle or effect I can bring back my three banished Electromagnet Warriors!” Applejack explained as the smoke cleared revealing that her Berserkion had fallen apart before it reconfigured itself, back into the three monsters that made it. *Alpha, Attack 1700, Defense 1100. Beta, Attack 1500, Defense 1500. Gamma, Attack 800, Defense 2000*
“And don’t forget my face down Tiki’s Curse!” I groaned as I saw the Tiki reappear “I hope you remember that it’s still my battle phase so my four monsters can now attack your Life Points Directly!” Applejack exclaimed before her warriors attacked.
Seto 1200
“Now I’ll sacrifice Tiki’s Curse to summon my Prime Material Dragon !” A large golden dragon appeared in a burst of light high above and flew down to land on the ground us as the Tiki broke and crumbled to dust. *Prime Material Dragon ATK 2400, DEF 2000*
“I didn’t know you had that card!” Pinkie exclaimed. “This’ll turn the whole thing around!”
“What’s so special about that dragon?” Rainbow asked.
“Any damage done by an effect will increase life points instead, and once per turn you can send a card from your hand to the graveyard to negate an effect that’ll destroy monsters and destroy the card.” Twilight explained.
“Sound like Aj’s got this in the bag.” Rainbow said smugly.
“Next I’ll play one card face down and activate the field spell Catapult Zone .” The area around us changed to that of a mid-evil battle with armored knights fighting all around us as arrows flew high in the sky. “Now once per turn if one of my monsters is about to be destroyed I can send 1 Rock-Type monster from my deck to the graveyard to save it. Your move Seto."

After I drew my card I took a deep breath to try to calm my down and clear my head before saying “I activate my Blaze Accelerator, but it’s not going to be around for long because I’m upgrading it to a Tri-Blaze Accelerator!” A small tri pod mounted grey turret appeared before it glowed white and morphed into a larger turret made completely out of a heavy and strong looking metal with three barrels with red caps. “Now I play my face down Volcanic Force ! This lets me send my Tri-Blaze Accelerator to the grave to summon Volcanic Doomfire from my graveyard!”
“He can WHAT!?” Twilight and Spike yelled as cracks in the ground opened up and in a plume of lava swallowed my Tri-Blaze Accelerator, before the cracks opened up and what can only be called a demon of fire and stone slowly emerged from the lava. His arms were dark red with large ivory claws, his legs are covered in this grey stone each foot having two ivory talons. His head is also in grey stone but this was smooth and polished compared to the rugged stone covering its legs. It also has a long stone tail with what looked like veins of magma on it as large plumbs of fire billowed off the top of his head. *ATK 3000, DEF 1800*
“Impossible!” Applejack gasped taking a step back. “How did THAT get in your graveyard!?”
“Morphing Jar #2.” I said simply. “Now I place one card face down and end my turn.”

“My turn.” Applejack hummed in thought as she looked at her card. “I’ll pass.”

Drawing my card I said.. “I play Pot of Greed." After drawing my cards I smiled. "Now I hope you weren’t too attached to your dragon because I sacrifice it to Summon Volcanic Queen to your side of the field!”
“YOU WHAT?!” Everyone yelled as more cracks opened in the earth and whips of fire shot out and caught Prime Material Dragon around the legs, wings and neck. Screaming like an eagle the dragon fought with all its might as it was pulled underground. With a horrifying shriek a large serpent like dragon with large red wings with its tail and head on fire burst out of the ground and coiled around Applejack. *ATK 2500, DEF 1200*
“Volcanic Queen can only be special summoned to my opponent's side of the field by sacrificing one of your monsters, but I can’t summon any more monsters this turn. Now once per turn you can send one card you control to deal me 1000 points of damage but at the end of your turn you must tribute one monster other then Volcanic Queen or you’ll take 1000 points of damage.” I said with a smirk.
“Why would he give Aj such a strong monster?” Rarity wondered.
“Because he just took out the only monster that could stop him from damaging her with effects.” Fluttershy explained as she hid behind Rainbow.
“Crud.” Rainbow muttered.
“I’ll play one card face down end my turn.” I said.
Seto 1200
“My turn!” Applejack said before growling in annoyance. “I summon one monster in defense mode and end my turn.” As Applejack's turn ended a few flames shot off of Volcanic Queen and grazed Applejack's arm.

“Time to turn this around! First I’ll play Shield & Sword switching the attack and defense of all monsters on the field until the end of the turn!”
“NO!” Applejack yelled. *Alpha, Attack 1700, Defense 1700. Beta, Attack 1500, Defense 1500. Gamma, Attack 200, Defense 800. Volcanic Queen ATK 1200, DEF 2500. Volcanic Doomfire ATK 1800, DEF 3000*
“Then I summon Gaia Soul the Combustible Collective !” A large pulsating boulder appeared next to Doomfire with a single blue eye gazing at Applejack. *ATK 2000, DEF 0*
“That…That aint right.” Spike said.
“You want to know how this gets better? Gaia Soul inflicts pricing damage. Now Gaia Soul attack her Gamma!” I ordered. Gaia Soul burst into flames and moved to float next to Gamma before exploding.
“I’ll send Barrier Statue of Drought to the grave to activate Catapult Zone to save Gamma!” Applejack shouted.
Seto 1200
As the smoke cleared Gaia Soul was revealed to have shrunk down to a single layer of rock and it’s eye was just bearly open. “Now Doomfire destroy Gamma with Volcanic Cannon! Oh and when Doomfire destroys a monster all other monsters on your field are destroyed and you take 500 points for each one!” Volcanic Doomfire opened his mouth and show a molten rock at Gamma. Gamma exploded and Volcanic Doomfire fired four more rocks destroying the rest of the monsters.
Seto 1200
“Your move Aj.” I said.
“First I’ll play Pot of Greed." Upon seeing what she drew a large grin spread over Applejack's face. "Then I’ll activateHeavy Storm !” Applejack yelled.
“Why would you do this?!” I shout as the field was engulfed by a tornado and the entire battle field created by Applejack’s card shattered along with every face down card.
“Because now I can send all nine rock monsters in my graveyard to summon Megarock Dragon !” My eyes widened as a huge dragon made of stone slowly rose out of the ground as if the ground was made of water. When it stopped only its head, back and part of its tail was above ground. “Megarock Dragon can only be summoned by removing at least one rock monster from my graveyard and he gains seven hundred attack and defense for every rock monster that I removed from play.” *ATK 6300, DEF 6300*
“FINISH IT AJ!” Rainbow yelled.
“You don’t need to tell me twice! Megarock Dragon destroy his Volcanic Doomfire!” Applejack yelled, as her Dragon reared its head back only to slam it down on Doomfire the gust of wind it created sending me flying into a nearby wall.

“YA! Take that Seto!” Rainbow cheered as the others ran over to check how I was doing.
“You alright there?” Spike asked.
“Ow.” I mumbled before looking at Applejack. “Well I was bound to lose sooner or later.”
“Yup.” Applejack nodded. “Didn’t think I was going to win there for a bit.”
“Well you pulled it off.” I said getting to my feet. “Gotta admit I didn’t see Prime Material Dragon coming.”
“She did it, she did it!” Rainbow sang happily with her eyes closed. “She took down Seto!” When Rainbow and when opened her eyes she saw seven people giving her unamused stares. “Hehehe. Sorry?”
“Hey Rainbow?” I said.
“Yeah?”
“Next time we duel… I’m not holding back.” I replied with a smirk.
“YOU WERE WHAT?!” Rainbow yelled in shock.

Like I promised here are the three chapters for the story. This was my first attempt at writing a duel and I was aiming for an anime feel so please let me know what you think.
Duel One. Amazons vs Mix and Match Machines
I yawned and looked to my right to see my reflection in my living room window. I have messy brown hair, and dark blue eyes. Currently I’m wearing a plain black shirt, black jeans, and white tennis shoes and a locket that looked like a dark red diamond shaped crystal around my neck. I had also decided to wear a white trench coat with small spikes on the shoulders that my mom had gotten for my birthday a many years ago, because I wanted to cosplay as Jack Atlas from Yu-Gi-Oh 5D’s for Halloween that year. I was currently doing a few last-minute edits on my Amazoness Tribe Deck before heading to a small tournament my friend John threw once a year, but I was also going to bring my Photon Overload and my Dragon’s King decks in the deck carriers on my belt.
Once I was finished I grabbed my forest green duffel bag that my dad made, grabbed everything I'd need and placed it in the bag after looking at the hidden pocket in my duffel bag for a moment. Just as I was about to head out and walk to John’s house when I saw a card lying face down as if someone slid it under the front door when I picked it up I saw it was a field spell card called Equestria, the picture was blank and its description said, “A world like you’ve never imagined. Have fun and keep your eyes open for you never know who you might run into.”
I wondered what that meant before the card let out a blindingly bright light. Dropping the card, I shielded my eyes, when the light finally dimmed I opened my eyes only to find I wasn’t in my hotel room but instead standing in the middle of a park. I blinked a few times until my eyes adjusted to the light when they had I saw a sign that read, “The Special Canterlot Duel Event will begin at Noon at the Lunar Dome” Underneath the sign was another with an arrow pointing to the left and an electric clock saying it was 11:30 am.
Seeing this I smirked. “Glad I’m not like my namesake and always believed magic existed. Otherwise I’d be freaking out. A dueling event huh? I doubt I can learn something on how I was sent here there but at the very least it should be fun .” As I made my way through Canterlot I realized my bag felt a little heavier than it had been and reached into my bag and pulled out my custom order Duel Disk that my younger sister had given me a few years ago which looked like Tanya’s from GX only to find it was now made of metal instead of plastic. I smiled to myself and put it back into the bag. When I came to the Night Dome and saw it looked exactly like the Kaiba Dome being based of off the head of a Blue Eyes White Dragon. After I walked into the Dome I followed the signs to the registration desk.
Sitting behind the desk is a woman in a sapphire-blue suite with short black hair. As I approached she looked up and said “Hello, are you here to sign up for the event?” After I nodded she said. “In that case, all you need to do is sigh this form. You’re lucky, you just took the last open spot. Do you need to borrow a Duel Disk?”
“No thanks. I got that covered.” I replied before I signed the form and followed the secretary’s instructions on where the duelists were to wait for their match. After taking my Duel Disk out of my bag and putting in on my left arm the large TV on one of the walls turned on and a woman with long light pink, light green, and light blue hair, in a white business suite appeared.

As the duels proceeded I saw that no one wanted to duel the champion making me wonder what the Champion was like and which I roused myself from my thoughts I saw that there was only one other person in the room. She was wearing a sky-blue tracksuit with clouds dotted on it in a seemingly random pattern. Her hair is rainbow colored and had a blue Yu-Gi-Oh 5D’s style Duel Disk on her arm. Once the current duel was done we both made our way to the door, as we walked to the arena she said with a cocky grin. “I hope you’re ready to get creamed, I’ve been preparing my deck to take on the champ for weeks, and I don’t plan on letting you stop me.”
“Well I can’t wait to see what kinds of strategies you’ve come up with when you duel them. That is IF you can beat me.” I replied, before we walked out to the area I made my way to the left side while my opponent went to the right, glancing up I saw that the dome was closed so we couldn’t see the sky. When we were in position the speakers came on and Celestia said.
“And now for the final round, Seto Kaiba vs Rainbow Dash. Alright you two call it in the air!” Between us a hologram of a giant coin appeared and was sent flying into the air. I called ‘Tails’ while Rainbow called ‘Heads’. I wasn’t surprised to see it came down heads since I always have bad luck with flipping a coin. “Rainbow Dash goes first! Duelists BEGIN!”
Rainbow 4000
After I drew my first hand I quickly studied them and saw I had my favorite opening combo unfortunately I lost the coin flip. “Time to start this off with a bang! Fist I’ll play the spell card Frontline Base , with this every time I summon a Union monster that’s level four or below I can summon a second one. Next I summon Y-Dragon Head in attack mode *Attack 1500, Defense 1600*, and thanks to my spell card I can also bring out Z-Metal Tank ! *Attack 1500, Defense 1300*” As Rainbow spoke a red mechanical dragon and an oddly designed yellow tank appeared. “Now I’ll activate my tanks ability and equip it to my dragon raising Y-Dragon Head’s attack points by six hundred, then I’ll end my turn with two face downs.” *Attack 2100, Defense 1300*
Rainbow 4000
“Alright my draw! First I’ll play the Field Spell Amazon Village ! Now all my Amazons get two hundred more attack points and when one of my Amazons is destroyed I can summon a new one if its level matches or is lower than the one destroyed. I summon the Amazoness Spy .” *Attack 800, Defense 1200, now Attack 1000* As I spoke the environment changed so were now standing in the middle of a large village made of wooden huts with thatched walls and roofs. Beyond the buildings was a large wooden wall that keeps the village safe from the wild animals of the surrounding jungle. There were a few women scantily clad in leather clothes and armed with spears watching us from between to the houses.
The Amazoness Spy jumped out of one of the huts on my left and landed in a defensive crouching position. She has a well-toned and slightly muscular body and wore a red face mask which showed her green eyes, a blue cape that was attached to an ornamental skull on her left shoulder. A red fabric wrap around her chest, metallic bands on her arms, a simple brown belt with a red short sword scabbard, a dark green skirt, red knee guards and white cloth wrapped on her feet. “Next I’ll play one card face down and play the spell Field Barrier with this not only is my village safe but no other field spell can be played, and end my turn.”
Rainbow 4000
After rainbow drew her card she said, “I’ll admit you’ve got some cards I’ve never seen but I’m not about to let up! First, I play Pot of Greed so I can draw two cards, then I’ll unequip my Z-Metal Tank from my Dragon and one my face down Jar of Greed to draw another card. Now I summon my X-Head Cannon . *Attack 1800, Defense 1500* Now I remove my three monsters from play to summon my XYZ-Dragon Cannon ! *Attack 2800, Defense 2600*” As Rainbow spoke a blue mech with two large yellow arms, two long energy cannons on its shoulders and a large round spiked lower body appeared before the three robots began to combine. First the spikes retracted into the ball as X-Head Cannon lowed itself into a domed indent on the back of Y-Dragon Head’s body. Next Y-Dragon Head’s wings flew off and its feet folded in so they rested on the dragons under side as Y-Dragon Head lowered so it rested in the indent on Z-Metal Tank and with a clicking sound the three monsters finished combining. *Attack 2800, Defense 2600*
“Now I’ll equip my Machine Conversion Factory card to my cannon giving it Three Hundred more attack and defense points.*Attack 3100, Defense 2900* “Before I destroy your monster, I’ll destroy your Field Barrier with my Cannon’s special ability, by sending the last card in my hand to the graveyard. Now XYZ-Dragon Cannon destroy his spell card with you XYZ Hyper Cannon! Then destroy his spy with your Cannon Firestorm!”
XYZ-Dragon Cannon took aim and fired energy beams from the two cannons on X-Head Cannon’s shoulders, Y-Dragon Head mouth and two more cannons that from the top the armor of Z-Metal Tank’s treads.
“I activate my trap Intrigue Shield , this card equips to one of my monsters and once per turn that monster can’t be destroyed in battle and I take no damage!” I yelled.
“Sorry but that won’t help! I play the counter-trap Trap Jammer ! When you activate a trap during the battle faze I can negate and destroy it!” Rainbow replied just before her attack hit. When the it did, it caused a large explosion engulfing my side of the field in smoke.

“I hope you didn’t forget my Village’s special ability so now I’ll summon the level two Amazoness Scouts !” At this two, young teen-aged girls leaped out of different huts. One has red hair with a yellow band with two black feathers set in it on her head, a red under outfit with a yellow sleeveless shirt and skirt, leather arm and leg guards and nothing on her feet. She’s armed with a simple one handed broadsword. The other is armed with a bow and is dressed in the same kind of outfit but where the one with the sword had a red under outfit and hair, the one with the bows has light blue hair, shirt, and skirt while her under outfit is silver and she has simple white cloth wrapped around her legs. *Attack 500, Defense 1100 now Attack 700* {A/N :small note I’m going to be calling these two Red Scout and Blue Scout}
“I’ll end my turn there.” Rainbow said with a smirk.
Rainbow 4000
“Now my turn.” When Seto saw the card, he drew a large smile appeared on his face. “I summon myAmazoness Swords Woman *Attack 1500, Defense 1600. Now Attack 1700* in attack mode and I’ll equip her with the Amazoness Heirloom ! Now my Swords Woman has a rather interesting ability, you see when she’s in battle YOU take all the damage I would take if your monsters stronger.” As Seto spoke a woman with large muscles and bronzed skin and fierce green eyes walked out of a hut and stood ready to attack as an intricately carved wooden idol with a large emerald on a rope appeared around her neck. She has long fire red hair with a blue headband with red spikes on it and a simple leather corset with leather arm and leg guards. The Swords Woman is armed with a sword that was a large one handed sword with a blue hilt and red spike that attached to the hilt in her right hand. “Now the Heirloom also has powerful ability. With it once per turn the Amazon equipped with it can’t be destroyed in battle and after the damage calculation your monster will be destroyed!”
“WHAT!? Rainbow yelled surprised that such cards could exist.
“Yup, so when your Cannon destroyed the Amazoness Scouts can take a small chunk out of your life points. Swords Woman take out her Cannon with your Head-Chopping Sword!” I said with a smirk as Amazoness Swords Woman raised her sword and let out a war cry as she charged towards the cannon. Once she was in range she brought her sword down only for it to be blocked by XYZ-Dragon Cannon’s arm creating sparks which fell on Rainbow who flinched when the sparks landed on her arms and legs. "And with that I end my turn."
Rainbow 2600
“Got to admit, I’m impressed you managed to make a comeback like that. Draw! First I summon A-Assault Core *Attack 1900, Defense 200* then I’ll destroy your Scouts with Assault Core’s Energy Stinger!” A yellow tank with a rounded body, angled armored treads, and a large mechanical stinger appeared before it fired a yellow beam of energy at the Amazoness Scouts, but before it connected I yelled.
“You just wasted your attack because I activate my scout’s ability! During either turn I can tribute my Scouts to make all my Amazons immune to your monster’s effects and they can’t be destroyed in battle! Alright you two time for your Recon Efficiency!” At this Blue Scout went to whisper something in Swords Woman ear as Red Scout deflected the energy beam with her sword before the two quickly jumped away and disappeared between the huts.
Rainbow just blinked for a moment before growling, “I end my turn.”
Rainbow 2600
“My turn. This has been a fun match but I’m afraid I must end this. I summon theAmazoness Paladin ! and she gets one hundred attack points for every Amazon on my field including herself.” A tall woman with long blond hair and garbed in a white leather cowl, a bra like shirt and skirt with golden armbands and armed with a long sword with a golden hilt. Calmly walked out of a hut and stood next to the Swords Woman after placing the tip of her blade in the dirt. *Attack 1700, Defense 300, Now Attack 2100* “Swords Woman destroy her Assault Core!” More sparks landed on Rainbow as the Swords Woman’s sword scraped against her machine before the Heirloom glowed and Assault Core exploded. “Now Amazoness Paladin end this battle with your Blessed Blade!” Amazoness Paladin pulled her blade from the dirt and charged at Rainbow who raised her Duel Disk to defend herself from the blade.

“We have a winner! Seto Kaiba has defeated Rainbow Dash using his unique Amazoness cards, but the question remains if he will take on the Champion.” Celestia said over the speakers.
“Of course, I’m going to take him on! I’m having too much fun to just stop now!” I yelled.
“There you have it everyone! Seto has challenged the Champion! But before the match we shall have a five-minute break.”
I walked over to Rainbow and held out a hand. “That was fun, we should have a rematch at some point.”
Rainbow smirked as she shook my hand. “Any time, any place.”
