Getting Visited By The Authorities
One day Rarity and Sweetie Belle were both over at Carousel Boutique as Rarity had Sweetie Belle over for a sleepover. As Sweetie Belle played in her room and Rarity was sowing on a dress there was a knock on Rarity's door. Rarity wondered who was knocking on her door as she wasn't expecting any visitors so she went to go over to see who it was so Rarity went over and as the person knocked on Rarity's door again Rarity answered it.
"Hello? How can I help you?" Rarity asked as she saw an agent from the Equestria Defense Department standing there the ones who investigated crimes against Equestria and the Royal family.
"Hello Rarity. My name is Detective Louis Harrison and this here is my partner detective Mark we are from the Equestria Defense Department. We're here because we want to talk to Sweetie Belle about a few things. Is she here?" Mark asked. Rarity became concerned about Sweetie Belle as she wondered what Sweetie Belle did.
"She's in her room....you can go up to see her if you like." Rarity said. The two agents nodded and went to Sweetie's Belle's room as Rarity followed them. When they got there they saw Sweetie Belle reading. Sweetie Belle looked up as they entered the room.
"Hi. My name is Detective Louis Harrison and this here is my partner Detective Mark. We are from the Ponyville office of the Equestria Defense Department and we are here because we want to ask a few questions." Louis Harrison said. Sweetie Belle became very nervous as she thought that she might be in trouble and she didn't want to be in trouble.
"What...sort of questions? Am I in trouble?" Sweetie Belle asked hesitantly as she was worried that she had done something wrong and was in deep trouble.
"Well it depends if you did it or not. We noticed that you were active on your computer and looked up several sites that included guides on doing illegal dangerous activities. One of them was weapon making instructions." Louis Harrison said. Sweetie Belle became very upset.
"You have the wrong idea....I was just curious about how criminals made them...so I looked it up on the web. I didn't mean to cause any concern." Sweetie Belle said as she started to breathe heavily.
"Okay well...why would you look it up like that. Why did you specifically search bomb making instructions? If you wanted to know what criminals were doing you could have looked it up in the Equestria directory and they would give links were you could go and research what criminals were doing and what agencies were doing to stop it." Louis Harrison said.
Sweetie Belle began to tear up. She was so mortified about this. Rarity stared at her in disbelief. Sweetie Belle tried to speak.
"Rarity! I'm sorry!" Sweetie Belle apologized. Rarity shook her head in anger.
"Don't say sorry to me Sweetie Belle. You should be saying sorry to yourself." Rarity answered.
"We're going to have to look at your search history. We already have a warrant to do so." Louis Harrison said as he pulled out the warrant. Sweetie Belle tried to make up an excuse.
"That won't be necessary! There's nothing on there! I didn't look up anything!" Sweetie Belle said.
"You know that's false Sweetie Belle. We have your search history with us. We know you looked this type of search up. We need to look at your other history though to see if you made any of these other searches." Louis Harrison said.
"But but..." Sweetie Belle began to say but Rarity interrupted her.
"Sweetie Belle turn on your computer right now. I want this crap straightened out!" Rarity interrupted her. Sweetie Belle was shaking.
"Am....am I in trouble? Sweetie Belle asked while she started to cry.
"Yes you are. Now log on and show them your searches." Rarity said. Sweetie Belle cried as she logged on her computer. It took a while to power up and once it did. She went to her search engine.
"We need to take a look." Mark said. Sweetie Belle cried and got out of her chair as the detective sat down and looked through her searches. No search for bomb making came up but the officers had the info they needed about Sweetie Belle but they did want to make sure Sweetie Belle didn't make any other illegal searches.
"Do you live with Sweetie Belle?" Louis asked Rarity.
"No she lives with her parents who by the way will be hearing about this." Rarity said as she raised her voice so Sweetie Belle could hear. That mortified Sweetie Belle.
"No please don't!" Sweetie Belle begged Rarity but Rarity put a finger to her lips. As Mark continued to look through her searches he couldn't find anything so he stopped and turned around.
"Well it doesn't matter if we can't find anything as we already have her search history. It didn't matter if she deleted it as we have it." Mark said as he handed Rarity the searches for her to look at. Rarity looked at the search history on the paper and became very upset.
"Sweetie Belle we need to know why you looked this stuff up. If...your trying to build a bomb or get instructions to learn how to build a bomb or a weapon or your interested in learning how to make bombs or you are trying to carry out an attack on Equestria then....that's illegal and you could go to jail. I hope you realize how serious the consequences are Sweetie Belle." Mark said.
"I know! Listen I wasn't planning on building one I swear! I'm against that type of stuff! I....didn't mean to cause any false alarms! I'm sorry!" Sweetie Belle cried as tears ran down her face.
"Then why would you look something like that up? Your explanations aren't making sense Sweetie Belle. I'm not buying your excuse. You know what you did on the computer is extremely suspicious? You could be walked out of here in handcuffs if we had enough evidence for an arrest warrant. So we want to know why you looked it up!" Mark explained.
"I'm telling the truth! I just wanted to...see if some of that stuff truly existed on the Internet! That's all!" Sweetie Belle said as she cried.
"Well it does exist. If that was the only reason that you looked it up then you don't need to look it up again. This is very serious Sweetie Belle." Mark said. They then turned to Rarity and walked out into the living room with Rarity. They all stopped and talked.
"Is this going to go any farther than this....is she going to get in deeper trouble with the law or anything?" Rarity asked. Mark shook his head.
"No. If she only wanted to know that the stuff existed then she got her fill and won't be doing it again. No further action is required but I do hope that you will do something in order to make her learn her lesson and teach her that she should never do this stuff again." Mark said.
"You bet I will officer." Rarity said.
"And you didn't use her computer to look anything like that up right?" Mark asked. Rarity shook her head franticly.
"No of coarse not! I never look that stuff up! I don't even use technology. I have a digital watch and a home phone but that's about it. Rarity said. The officer nodded.
"Alright then. I guess we will leave. Thanks for letting us check it out." Mark said.
"Oh no problem. Thanks for finding that out for me. She will be punished as soon as I go down to her room." Rarity confirmed. Mark nodded.
"Alright take care Rarity. We left our office's phone number on your table if you need to call us with any questions. It will have my badge number and everything as well I wrote it on the back." Mark said. Rarity nodded.
"Thank you. You take care to." Rarity said. The agents left and Rarity closed the door while she fumed with anger. She was so upset that it was unbelievable. Sweetie Belle was crying in her room.
She thought up the perfect punishment and walked down to Sweetie Belle's room. When Sweetie Belle saw her she started to beg her sister to spare her punishment but Rarity didn't listen.
"Your grounded Sweetie Belle. You have no idea how angry I am! I was so embarrassed when they came over! You scared the hell out of me today! Do you realize that you could have been walking out of here in handcuffs!? There will be no computer for a month but that might be extended tomorrow if I don't think it's good enough of a punishment." Rarity explained.
"Rarity please! Just let me-" Sweetie Belle began but Rarity silenced her.
"No Sweetie Belle I don't want to hear it! Your grounded for a month and that's final. I will be telling your parents and your teachers as well. Your lucky that's the punishment your getting as at least your not in jail! I want you to stay in your room for the rest of the night. There will be no books, television, music or anything tonight. I want you to sit there and think about what you did." Rarity said.
"For how long?" Sweetie Belle asked.
"For the rest of the night. And your going to go to bed earlier to tonight as part of your punishment. Now sit there and think about what you did." Rarity said. Rarity left and closed Sweetie Belle's door as Sweetie Belle began to cry again. Rarity immediately called her parents and told them about what happened.
Her parents were horrified with what Sweetie Belle searched up and thanked Rarity for giving her little sister a talk. Sweetie Belle served out her grounding without complaint. Sweetie Belle later apologized to Rarity during her the time that she was grounded which Rarity accepted her apology. Sweetie Belle apologized to her parents as well and her parents also accepted her apology. Her grounding ended and went back to doing fun things that she was grounded from. Sweetie Belle never did what she did again.
