"Aaaaaaaaaaaaahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh!"
Apple Bloom bolted up in her bed, clutching her blankets as she looked around at her surroundings. She gave a mental sigh of relief. However, that didn't stop her from crying her eyes out into her pillow. She wanted it to stop, to end. However, no mattered how hard she tried, no matter how much medication she took, the nightmares would always come back. But the worst part was that they would always get worse with each one she had.
As the little filly cried into her pillow she began thinking back of that very first one. She remembered the dark void she had always found herself in. She remember the dozens of tall creatures that were shrouded in shadows speaking to her in a strange Language she could never understand. She remembered the creatures showing her the earth, and saw things she would've never imagined. She saw birds made of metal, cities made of glass and steel, metal carrages moving on their own. However, out of all of this, she kept seeing the monsters that were covered in shadow. Or at least, that's what they looked like to her.
Apple Bloom was cut from her thoughts when she heard a knock from her door, and allowed whoever to enter her room. She heard the door open and close with a soft click. She heard hoofsteps on the wooden floor as they made their way to her bed. She looked up from her pillow to see her older sister staring down at her with a sad expression on her face.
"Y'all alright, Sugarcube?" she asked in a soft whisper. The young filly buried her face into her sister's chest as she began sobbing. Applejack slowly stroked her mane with a hoof as she whispered reassurances to her distressed sister.
"Th- they won't stop," she sobbed. "They won't stop showin me things, AJ." Applejack frowned as she looked down at her beloved sister. She couldn't imagine the things those creatures were showing her. However, she had to know, she had to know what they showed her.
"What'd those things show you this time?" Applejack asked, too afraid of the answer her sister would give to her. Apple Bloom gave a sniff before speaking in a shaky voice.
"Ah was in that black void like usual. Those creatures were there too, and they showed me the world. They showed me those creatures all runnin and screamin for they're lives. Ah saw a city completely on fire with those metal flyin things falling to the ground." She then looked up at the orange mare with fear clearly written across her face. "Ah saw so many dead bodies, the streets were covered in blood. Ah saw ones in green clothes fightin a monster with strange tubes that shot fire, but they wouldn't work."
Applejack gave a nervous gulp at the question nagging in the back of her head.
"W- what happen after that?" Apple Bloom closed her eyes, trying to recall the memory. After a few moments, she spoke.
"They lost, and were forced to live underground. But that monster they were fightin was dyin because of how cold the earth was gettin. I saw the creatures surviving near the hot core of the earth. They had decided to go into these weird pod lookin things, and they just fell asleep." Applejack gave a sigh of relief at the fillies words.
"So that's it then, these things just wanted ta tell yeah their story?" Apple Bloom winced at her sister's words.
"Well... yes, and no." Applejack frowned and once again that worried expression was on the mares face.
"What do you mean?" she asked. Apple Bloom bit her bottom lip as she tried to avert her eyes from her sisters.
"They showed me one more thing." The older farm pony gestured for her to continued. Apple Bloom took in a calming breath before she continued. "They showed me Equestria, and ah saw them risin through the ground like zombies, but they were scared, they were scared of us."
They were?" Applejack asked. The filly gave a nod as she stared out from her window, a blank expression on her face.
"Yeah, they thought we were like the monster they fought all those years ago. So, they tried to get rid of us. There was too much for me to remember, but I did see Canterlot on fire, and saw the tree of harmony being chopped down."
Applejack thought of the possible implications of her sister's dreams, was it the creatures showing her the end of the world? Was it a warning from the creatures?" Unfortunately, her thoughts were cut off by Apple Bloom's words.
"They did give us sighns to look for. They showed me stars falling to earth, massive earthquakes, erupting volcanos, and a solar eclipse." Applejack's eyes went wide.
"What? Celestia and Luna would never do that." She stood up from her sitting position on the fillies bed. " we can get Twilight to write a letter to them telling them not to do the eclipse. Hell, we can even tell them about all the warnings that'll happen."
Apple Bloom sadly shook her head at her older sister's ideas.
"We can't. Besides, even if we did send a letter to the princesses, it won't be them who's doing the catastrophes."
"Then, then who?" Apple Bloom sighed before replying in the same sad tone in her voice.
"They are. The creatures underground. All that stuff is like a giant machine that's wakin them up. As for the eclipse? That's going to happen on it's own."
"Th- that's impossible. Only princess Luna and Celestia can move them. They've never moved on their own.'
"At one point in time, AJ they did. Back in the days where those creatures walked. I don't know how it worked, but they did move without magic."
Applejack could only stare at the wall in complete silence, trying desperately to find a way to stop the events. However, nothing came to the forefront of her mind.
"So... so we're goin to die, aren't we?"
"Ah don't know, but they did tell me to warn everypony that they're coming, and they're not happy."
Applejack turned her head to the window, and could see hundreds of shooting stars flying through the night sky.
