Hoober-Bloob Highway, above Earth
Mister Hoober-Bloob was doing his daily work. He took much joy in doing what he did. Namely, he (among others, since the need for people in that profession was sharply increased as of late) was the dispatcher of child souls to the Earth below, where expectant mothers would receive them.
Currently he had just sent off a new child, preparing to greet yet another. When he pulled on the lever this time, two strollers (one blue, one pink) were created.
"Oh! Twins, this time!" he said, expectantly.
Two balls of what seemed to be light were swaddled in cloth and deposited into the strollers.
"Alright. Here we go.. I am Mister Hoober-Bloob. The dispatcher I am here to explain to you the intricacies of life down below!"
The bipedal guitar-like companion of his strummed its strings excitedly in greeting.
"And this is Songster, my... assistand." the man explained. Assistant wasn't quite the proper word for their relationship, but lacking a better one, he made do.
Now, firstly.....

Ponyville, Equestria
It was a bright sun-shiny day in Ponyville-
No, Pinkie. You don't get to narrate too.
Aww! Why not?
Because you have a part to play in this, if you don't forget.
(gasp!) You're right!
And she's gone. Yes, Pinkie is certainly a... colourful character. Anyway, as she said, Celestia's sun was hanging high in the sky, set along its daily track by the divine princess herself. It was about midday at the time, and Pinkie Pie, along with her five friends, were sitting together for lunch at Sugarcube Corner, Pinkie's place of work.
Pinkie herself was on break at the moment, letting her employers (Cup Cake and Carrot Cake, by name) take over for the time being.
Each friend was nomming on something different for dessert. Applejack was, of course, having apple pie. Rainbow Dash was eating a couple of donuts with zap apple jam filling, her favourite, as of late. Rarity, mindful of her sister nearby, was eating an eclair, using her magic to pick at it slowly. Fluttershy was daintily eating a slice of carrot cake and Twilight Sparkle had just finished her slice of pumpkin spice cake. Pinkie herself had long ago finished off a slice of raisin bread, as she was supposedly watching her weight.
The six mares were chatting amiab;y aout current events. Rainbow Dash reported that there would be showers tomorrow. Applejack nodded appreciatively. The orchard that her family prided themselves on would surely make the most of that.
Rarity had finishd a new line of dresses and planned to head to the spa with Applejack and Fluttershy.
Just then, Pinkie's tail started wiggling slightly jangling with the tone of a small bell. "Oops! I'm on call! Sorry, girls!" she said, "Work to do!"
So saying she drew a circle in the air around herself with one hoof. When she brought it back around, she disappeared.
Rainbow Dash quirked an eyebrow. "Have you girls noticed that Pinkie's been acting even MORE random lately?"
"How can ya tell?" Applejack asked
"Eh. You know." the chromatic mare said, simultaneously answering the question and not doing so at all.(1)

Back again...
"Now. let's see where you two are to end up." Mister Hoober-Bloob said. So saying, he pulled a lever and a roulette wheel propped itself up and started spinning.
When it landed on the "JACKPOT! Five Millionth Player!" slot, a tube came up and a pink pony popped out on top. Reading a piece of paper that she held, she cleared her throat and said:
"We are delighted To be able to annnounce,
That this fortunate colt and filly
Have woooon~ the jackpot!
And the privelige of living in the toooooown~
Of Canterlot, Equestria, silly!"
So saying, she and the wheel sank into the floor again.
Mister Hoober-Bloob was stunned for a moment. This hadn't happened to HIM before. Usually one of his counterparts handled this. Nevertheless, he knew what he had to do.
"My apologies, bubs. But you're out of my hands, now." He pulled another lever and the world around the two strollers distorted.

Canterlot Palace, Equestria
Princess Celestia (bringer of the dawn, goddess of the sun, Princess of the people and holder of many other titles besides) had just finished Day Court and was going to take a rest in her chambers.
But, she had another aspect that nopony knew about. Being the goddess of dawn, she also governed over new lives. And just as she entered her chambers, her right ear twitched and her horn lit of its own accord. Just then, two strollers appeared.
"Ah. Twins today." she said. Pulling a lever of her own. a drawer came up. Inside on either side was a horn and vestigial wings.
"Oooh! Potential alicorns! You two are very lucky!" she exclaimed giddily.
Adding those to the little balls of "light", she said, "Now, what deserving mare and stallion should receive you two? Oh! I know!" She mentally chose a couple that were very close but lacked any children as of yet.
"And now, your names." the white alicorn said, continuing on. "Hmm... I think that you ill be Trillium and you will be Dress Pants! If you can, tell your new mommy and daddy that i say "congratulations!"" So saying, with a flich of her head, the two were gone, off to their new mother

Canterlot, Equestria; General Hospital
Fancy Pants was comforting his very visibly prregnant wife, Fleur de Lis.
They'd been trying for months for foals and just never managed it, until now. Every other time, a miscarriage, missing the deadline, to straight up interference from other nobles,life just seemed to conspire to prevent the two from procreating.
But, their hard work and determination (and a mood swing suppreddion spell or two) had paid off, and here they were!. Fleur was lying in a bed in the maternity ward and they were awaiting the moment that their fals would face the world.
Fleur said, breathily, "Fancy.... We did it. We're here. After all this time..."
Her husband nodded and responded, "Yes, dear. Soon our little ones will be able to face the world."
And (skipping the gory details,) shortly thereafter were there two sleepy little ones, lying on their mother's belly, Both were unicors, but that's about where their similarities ended. The filly was lilac with a relatively shortblue rmane, while the colt was white with a longer magenta mane. The filly sported a long, voluminous tail, while the colt, matching his mane, had a tail that was braided, nigh on dreadlocked. The filly's horn was straight and sharply pointed, while the colt's was spiraled.
Nurse Loving Care was just nearby, wiping the sweat from her brow. "Have you had The Dream? What are their names to be?" she asked.
Fleur thought for a moment. She'd had this planned out, if she could just remember... Ah, yes!
"The colt is Dress Pants. The filly is Cornflower."
And with that, the next generation of the nobility was bborn and their lives were just beginning. Shortly thereafter, theyd be introduced to society and their lives would begin. What would the future hold for them? We'll find out in time
