//-------------------------------------------------------// Two guys, six ponies, and a whole lot of cartoon characters -by Geeknerd- //-------------------------------------------------------// //-------------------------------------------------------// Prologue //-------------------------------------------------------// Prologue Mysterious, important-to-the-plot laboratory, undisclosed location, though all we know that it is somewhere near San Francisco "Sir, the teleporter is ready," a robotic voice said. The scientist turned his head slightly to see the drone who was his one of his numerous assistants. "Thank you, Dee-three," the scientist replied, nodding to the drone, who then proceeded to float somewhere else. The scientist looked back and admired his creation, the inter-dimensional teleporter. With this, he thought, I'll be able to connect the multiverse together, and reunite with my friends. That last thought brought a slight scowl to his grinning face. The last time he saw his friends was.... NO, he thought, shaking his head. Don't think about that, just think about the here and now. The scientist pushed his glasses back in place and turned to one of his drone assistants. "Start the process," he said. "Yes, Sir." The drone then activated a console near the teleporter and the machine whirred to life. A large, swirling blue portal appeared and the scientist's eyes widened, filled with a sense of awe and determination. This was going to work, it will be revolutionary, it will- "SIR!" The scientist's head snapped to the drone at the console, irritated. "Sir, the portal-it's destabilizing! I don't know how or why!" The scientist looked back at the portal, and indeed, it was becoming much more violent in its movement, and the blue mass had suddenly gone from blue to magenta. "FIX IT NOW, DEE-SEVEN," the scientist shouted, now furious. But it was to no avail. Suddenly, ghostly images appeared from the portal. Some, he recognized as his friends, others.....were strange, unknown, from realms and dimensions in the Multiverse that even the scientist didn't realize exist. As fast as they had appeared, the images disappeared with such speed as to seem instantaneous and so did the portal. The scientist, blinking with a shocked look on his face, turned to the drone beside him, then to the drones behind him. All were hovering still, looking at him, awaiting their next command. Despite this setback, the scientist knew that now they could track whatever had came through. With a renewed look of determination his face, and adjusting his glasses, the scientist commanded to his drones, "DEE-EES! Activate search protocol 19704!" With that, the drones quickly went into motion, setting up and activating sensors. The scientist smiled and rubbed his hands sinisterly. "Nobody and nothing can stop Dexter, the greatest scientist ever!" He then laughed an evil laugh. After all, don't all mad scientists do? *Zack's POV* Chicago, November 2015 CRUNCH! CRUNCH! That was the sound our feet made as we walked, no, TRUDGED through two feet of snow. Though, to be fair, Chicago in the middle of winter always was a bitch. Man, and I thought winters in Georgia were bad. But I'm getting ahead of myself. My name is Zack, I'm 18 years old, and I'm a senior in high school. I know, WHOO, class of 2016 and all of that. Anyway, I have jet-black hair, glasses that make me look like a hipster, and very skinny. Not skinny enough to warrant concern, but still pretty skinny. Also, my skin is dark just enough to let people know I'm Hispanic, pretty much a light brown. Funny enough, my best friend, Daniel, or Dan as I like to call him, is practically my exact opposite in every way. While I'm skinny, he's big, tall, and buff. Makes sense, when one plays basketball and baseball like he does. Dan has light brown hair, light skin, and has blue eyes while mine are dark brown. We are also quite different personality wise, as one might guess. Dan is an extrovert through and through. He's the life of the party, the guy who'll get in the center of the dance floor and steal the show. I, on the other hand, am as stereotypical an introvert as can be. I stick to the corners at parties, prefer quiet events by myself or with a small group of friends, and generally tend to stay away from large crowds. It also doesn't help that I am quite shy, especially when it comes to strangers. So, how is it, I hear you ask, that you two became such good friends? Well, that is quite an interesting story, but that will have to wait for another time. Now, as we are walking home from school in the thick snow, Dan is telling me about how nervous he is for the big math test this Friday and saying how he feels unprepared. I reply, "Dan, you'll do fine. Remember how you understood the concepts better after I showed you in a way that was easy to understand?" "Y-yeah, true. You do have a way of making hard things easier to understand," Dan said. "If only Twilight Sparkle knew how," I replied, grinning. This caused Dan to laugh and he agreed. "Hey, are you still planning to do you workouts today," Dan asked. I looked over to him nervously and gave a sheepish grin and replied, "eeh." "Come on, man, you can't skip, remember our deal." "Yeah, yeah, yeah, I remember, I just dread doing all those squats and push-ups. They make my whole body feel like-" "WHOA! Zack, do you see that?!" Dan interrupted. Suddenly, I look back in front of us and see a cardboard box in the middle of the snow, its lower half covered by snow. I was confused as to why a cardboard box would alert Dan so much and was about to say as much when Dan pointed and said, "There! Look, I saw a flash of pink!" As soon as he said it, a little flash of pink floof seemed to stick out of the box, then quickly disappear back inside. Perplexed by this, the two of us walked slowly to the box, trying not to scare what was inside. When we got close, we peered inside the box, and what we saw inside made my heart skip a beat. Inside the box were six tiny baby multicolored ponies, and one baby dragon. All seven of the tiny creatures were crawling around the box, shivering from the cold. That was when Dan and I looked at each other and, without saying a word, had the same thought: "what is going on?" //-------------------------------------------------------// Chapter 1: From Bitter Cold to Pleasent Heat //-------------------------------------------------------// Chapter 1: From Bitter Cold to Pleasent Heat *Dan's POV* "They look exactly look like the Mane 6 and Spike from My Little Pony, how the hell did they get here and why are they babies," I asked, shocked. Zack said nothing, merely making a I don't know sound. "Right now, we can't worry about that. We need to get them inside before they freeze to death," Zack then said. I looked back inside the box and indeed, they were all shivering, and getting worse. Pinkie Pie looked up at me, her blue eyes seeming to scream, "please, help us." After that display of cuteness, neither one of us hesitated any longer. I picked up the box while Zack ran to the front door of my apartment, which we were actually in front of. After taking the box inside, the two of us headed up to the second floor of the complex, where I lived. We practically ran down the second floor hallway, which earned some irritated looks from my neighbors. I ignored them as Zack and I reached a door on the left and at the end of the hallway. "Zack, I can't get to my keys, you need to get them from my pocket," I said, adjusting my grip on the box. Zack nodded and grabbed my keys from my left pocket. Thankfully, they weren't shoved deep in there or we would have been out there a while. I looked down at the babies, and while they seemed a lot better, I can tell they needed a lot more warmth and food. "Hey, guys, you're going to be okay. We'll get you inside where it's warm and safe," I told them. The babies looked up at me, and a few even smiled. "Okay, got it," Zach muttered, and he opened the door. I quickly got the box inside and put the box on the dining room table, which is also the kitchen room table. Zack went to get food for the babies while I grabbed towels and a small heater. They may have been inside and safe from the cold, but it was clearly the babies needed a lot more warming up to do, not to mention eat. A few minutes later, Zack showed up with the food, looked at the clock and said, "your parents working late again?" I looked back at the clock hanging above the living room, which read 4:00. "They'll be back by 6 today," I replied. Zack nodded and placed the food down at the table. He knew how my parents, because of their job in the tech industry, sometimes had to work late a lot of nights. That meant there were several nights where I ate dinner by myself. Thankfully, this number has went down a lot, especially with Zack sometimes having dinner with me. The two of us worked together, making sure the babies were fed and properly warmed and after half an hour, the six ponies and baby dragon were sleeping peacefully, wrapped in warm towels. I looked to Zack and he had taken his glasses off so he can rub his eyes. "Well, now that they're safe, at least in the immediate future, what now," he asked. I looked back to the box, pondering what to do next. Truth be told, there were a lot of questions, like how and why characters from a cartoon show ended up in the real world, why they were all infants, and how we were going to take care of them from now on. Zack was now in deep thought, stroking his chin subconsciously and his eyes focused on some random spot on the table. "Alright, I think I got something," he said. "Yeah? What's your plan, Buddy," I asked. "I was proposing that we each take three of the ponies, and one of us will have to take care of Spike, at least until we can figure out a more concrete plan and seriously think about this," he proposed. "Okay, but are we going to let our parents see them? I mean, how would they react?" "Well, they don't have their cutie marks yet, so just tell them that the ponies are puppies who got into some paint, and if they see Spike, just tell them that he's a baby iguana or something," Zack explained. I nodded and asked, "okay, who's getting who, and how we are deciding who gets Spike?" Zack replied without missing a beat, "rock, paper, scissors, best out of three." "Sounds good to me," I replied, chuckling. In terms of who would get which pony, we decided that I would get Rainbow Dash, Applejack, and Pinkie Pie, while Zack would get Twilight Sparkle, Rarity, and Fluttershy. "I can work with that. Besides, you always were a Twilight Sparkle fan," I said tongue-in-cheekily. Zack smiled a little and laughed at that. "Yeah, ain't no denying that," he replied, a bit of his old Southern accent coming out. We then played rock, paper, scissors, to see who would take care of Spike. Zack ended up winning and as he carefully puts the baby ponies and dragon into his jacket, I ask him, "you have to head home?" Zack nodded and had a "I'm sorry" smile. "Yeah, my folk-I mean, my foster parents, are making something special, and expect me back soon," he replied. I nodded and proceeded to give Zack a fistbump before he left. After he left, I turned back to the box and picked up Pinkie Pie, smiling at her. "Well, aren't you just the cutest thing, aren't ya?" Pinkie didn't say anything, merely touching my nose with her hoof and giggling a little. I smiled back and tapped her muzzle with my finger. "Boop!" ……… *third POV* The two best friends proceeded to hide the babies in their rooms, and after the two fell asleep, something mysterious and even stranger would happen that night. As they slept, a green, glowing light, could be seen from where the babies slept, and some furniture got knocked around a bit.
