Pinkie galloped into the library. "TWIIIIIIIIIILIIIIIIIGHT!"

Twilight poked her head out from behind a bookshelf. "What?"

"I think Thor's in trouble!" Pinkie did a nervous little dance, hopping from hoof to hoof.

Twilight took this with a grain of salt. Pinkie had a tendency to get 'feelings' that things were going to happen, and as opposed to her Pinkie Sense, these almost never came true. She'd once had a 'feeling' that Fluttershy was going to get killed by a giant grape! A grape! So instead of jumping up in a panic, Twilight simply asked, "What makes you say that?"

Pinkie took a deep breath. "Wellllll, Thor's evil sister was trying to take over Asgard so Thor had to destroy Asgard so she couldn't have Asgard and all the people from Asgard were on a big spaceship and Thor and I were just chatting about this when suddenly he said that a bigger spaceship was attacking his spaceship but he'd try to get back to me soon and then--" she ran out of breath and had to stop to take another.

"And then what?" Twilight asked urgently. Pinkie's worries were starting to seem much more founded.

"And then THE BOOK BLEW UP!"

Twilight's pupils shrunk to the size of bits. "Pinkie, do you know if the Aesir can survive with no air?"

"The who?"

"Asgardians, it's the technical term, that doesn't matter, can they survive it?"

Pinkie's ears folded back. "I- I don't know! I mean, they're super strong, and they live for crazy-long times, but I don't know if they need air! I breathed while I was Thor that one time, but did I need to, or was that just force of habit? I don't know!" Her voice broke. "I don't know."

Twilight placed a hoof on her shoulder. "It's all right. You don't have to have all the answers. Take the Central Book--you know the one that goes to the Avengers Headquarters. See if you can reach someone there who knows."

"And what if he does need to breathe? What if- what if he's-" She couldn't finish.

Twilight kept patting her. "Don't worry. We don't even know for sure what happened. Maybe his book just got hit by a stray blast! Maybe there was magic feedback in the air so powerful it destroyed the book!"

Pinkie sniffled. "What's your book look like? It was on the ship too."

"Good thought! Let me check." Twilight galloped over to her book, the one that was supposed to link to Bruce Banner. Fat lot of good that did. I barely got to talk to him for five minutes. She breathed a sigh of relief on finding it still intact. Thank goodness. Must have been a stray blast that hit Pinkie's book after all. Maybe I should give her this one? It's not like the Hulk is using it...

Her hoof brushed the cover, and she jerked back. "What in-" she said out loud. Tentatively, she touched it again. It was like ice. Colder than ice. Colder than liquid nitrogen, which she knew because she'd spilled it in a chemistry class once. She looked at her hoof and found serious cold-burns already forming. Ouch. She should still have the magical burn cream from the last time Spike had the hiccups, though, so she could get rid of them pretty quickly. More worrying by far was the reason the book was so cold.

Because space was almost absolute zero.

She trudged back to Pinkie, tail drooping. "The spaceship definitely exploded," she groaned. "Everyone on board is now floating in space. I don't know if Thor can survive that... but I don't think Bruce can, even as the Hulk."

"W-well, we shouldn't jump to conclusions, right?" Pinkie said, trying her hardest to be cheerful. "I mean, like you said, maybe we're misinterpreting it! Maybe only a part of the spaceship exploded, but they were able to fix it! Maybe they crashed on a planet! There are lots of ways they could've survived! Right?"

Twilight nodded, swallowing down the lump in her throat. "Right. Stay positive." She took a deep breath. "Okay. I need to check on something. Let me know if you find anything out, okay?"

Pinkie nodded as Twilight trotted away. "I will."
