When Sugarcube Corner starts to stagnate and no new customers arrive in weeks, Mr. and Mrs. Cake call upon the one pony who might have a chance to solve their problems, Pinkie Pie. They try to make local commercials to attract ponies to Sugarcube Corner and drum up business using Pinkie Pie's endless energy, but nothing goes right for them.
