Prologue: Twilight's Dream Before Death

Twilight walked into her room, tired from the meeting. The Traditionalists had given her a hard time again, once again rejecting the idea of change. Twilight had suggested some new reforms that would welcome all species to Equestria, but the Traditionalists and the Unicornians were ultimately against it. She had been very annoyed with them all for some time, but now they were just being ridiculous.

She placed her crown on her bedside table, then got into her bed. She covered up and looked up at the top of her bed for a bit. She closed her eyes, finally going to sleep. Unaware of the danger that was fastly and silently approaching her from the halls. Or the dream that she about to have.

Twilight found herself in the middle of nowhere. All she saw was blackness. Darkness. All she felt was aggression. She saw some men in suits approaching what looked like an alien space ship. They put some mysterious black goo into a conatainer.

"Everyone's got their thing," a voice said. "Maybe it's a breakup, a death, an accident. Whatever it is, you used to be one thing, and now you're something else. We all have our own problems, our own issues, our own... demons."

She then saw the containers with the black goo in the back of a truck. The back doors open up, revealing a human male with tan skin, black hair, and a black suit.

"Thank you for collectively bringing us to this moment," he said to his employees. "It is a moment so many have dreamed of claiming. History starts today."

She then saw two humans, a boy and a girl riding on a motorcycle. She then saw them at a club.

"The guy you work for is an evil person," the man told the girl.

"I don't work for him," the girl corrected. "My firm works for him. Are you going to behave yourself tomorrow?"

"I told you I'm going to do my job," the man replied.

She then sees the man interviewing the tan man from earlier.

"What about the allegations that you recruit the most vulnerable for tests that end up killing people?" he asked him.

The tan man ended the interview at hearing this. He motioned for security to escort him out of the building.

"It's time to go," one security guard told him, escorting the man away.

"You're finished, Mr. Brock," the tan told the bearded man in a threatening tone.

"Is that a threat?" the man, Mr. Brock as the tan man called him, taunted. "Are you making threats now?"

She then saw Mr. Brock walking down the street to a nearby store. He looked behind him, as if making sure he wasn't being followed by anyone.

"We had to learn how to hide in plain sight," Mr. Brock told someone Twilight didn't see.

Sounds like one of the rules of the Creed of the Assassins Brotherhood, Twilight thought to herself.

"I'm pretty good at it," Mr. Brock continued. "But you, you suck, whoever you are."

Twilight saw he was talking to a woman with black hair and wearing glasses, as if she were trying to hide in plain sight. The woman looked at Mr. Brock.

"I work at the Life Foundation," she replied to him, "and I need your help."

Twilight then saw a building on the side of what appeared to be an island connected to the main land by a red bridge.

"We found something," the woman told Mr. Brock.

Twilight then saw the mysterious substance opened as it moves on its own as if it has its own mind. She then saw the tan man overseeing an experiment on an innocent brown colored man with black hair. She sees on the screen through an X-Ray that he is screaming in pain - in an unholy scream. As if something was infecting him.

"We call them symbiotes," the woman continued. "Carlton Drake believes that the union between human and symbiote is the key to our evolution."

Carlton Drake? Twilight thought to herself. Must be the tan man.

She then saw Mr. Brock sneaking through the building. It was pitch black and quiet. He then found a cage with a girl in it, sitting in the corner with her head down. Suddenly she looked up and smashed through the glass to get to Mr. Brock and attack him. The alarm went off to signify her escape, but Mr. Brock ran out of the building.

Twilight then saw Mr. Brock at his apartment. She saw his eyes turn black. She then saw him taking pills and later talking into the phone.

"I'm feeling really sick," he said into the phone.

Twilight saw him standing in front of a sink.

"I'm hearing a voice," Mr. Brock continued.

Hearing voices in one's head is never a good thing, Twilight thought to herself.

"Eddie," a demonic sounding voice said, throwing Mr. Brock, or as Twilight now knew him, Eddie against the shower.

She then saw Eddie on his bed, clutching the sides of his head. He was trying to block out the voice.

"You're not real, you're just in my head," he said to the voice.

Like I said, not good, Twilight thought.

Suddenly, there was a knock on the door. Eddie got up and walked over to open it. When he did, thugs walked in, guns pointed at him.

"We're here to collect Mr. Drake's property," the lead thug said.

Suddenly, a long stream of the black goo from earlier shot out of Eddie's hand, hitting the lead thug against the wall. Twilight noticed that Eddie was just as equally confused and frightened by what had just happened as the other thugs were.

I don't-," Eddie told them, shrugging.

Suddenly, more of the black goo shot out of his hand and hit a second the thug against the wall. More black goo pulled the third thug to him and more black goo formed around Eddie's free hand and, as if of his body's own accord, punched the third thug out cold. The final thug was behind him and aimed at him. The black goo shot out of his back and hit the thug against the wall.

"Why would we do that?" Eddie asked the creature as if it had just told him to do something horrible.

She then saw Eddie riding off on a motorcycle, trying to get away from some thugs. The symbiote attached itself to two cars and flipped them to get the thugs off their tail.

Twilight then saw Eddie walking down the street during the daytime.

"If you're going to stay, you will only hurt bad people," Eddie told the Symbiote.

She then saw Eddie looking at his reflection in a car window. But something was off about it.

"The way I see it, we can do whatever we want," the symbiote said, putting Eddie against a wall. Eddie tried to move his arm, but the symbiote pulled it back. "Do we have a deal?"

Twilight saw Eddie running from some more thugs in the forest. Twilight was surprised to see him just burst through a tree with no problems.

"Are you willing to sacrifice everything you hold dear?" said Mr. Drake's voice off screen.

Eddie screamed in pain as the symbiote began emerging while in a VR Machine. Twilight watched in horror as his girlfriend watched as he tore through enemies attacking him.

She then saw Eddie sitting down in a chair.

"You should be extremely afraid," he said.

She then saw Eddie running away from soldiers in his apartment building. He jumped out the window. She then saw him on his motorcycle as it went up really high. This caused him to be ejected off, but the symbiote pulled him back down onto the motorcycle as everything went black.

"What the hell are you?" the lead thug from earlier asked.

Twilight saw the symbiote beginning to cover Eddie's whole body. He had what appeared to be a smirk on his face.

"We..." he said sinisterly.

The symbiote covered him completely, as it covered his face, showing razor sharp teeth, eyes without irises or pupils, and tongue.

"...are Venom," Eddie and the Symbiote said at the same time.

The lead thug screamed in horror as Venom stuck out his tongue before everything went black as the lead thug screamed again.

Twilight woke up with a jolt. That was much less a dream and more of a nightmare. That monster... Actually ate its victims. She had heard of creatures in Equestria doing that, but that thing acted as if it had no morality.

But then again, it was a hero who villainous means against criminals. There was only one word to describe it. Anti-Hero.

Before she could think of anything else, Twilight fell asleep again. Unaware of the ponies watching from outside her door, and the transparent being standing beside her bed.
