Side story to A New World, A New Way.

Off the coast of Equestria lies the ocean kingdom of Marelantis, a coral reef city inhabited by hippocampi, also known as seaponies. They live their lives taking care of the reef and the creatures that inhabit it, under the guidance of Queen Oceania, who has dominion over the ocean itself.

Marelantis is usually a fairly peaceful place, but one day, this peace was disturbed when beings from another world known as Pokémon appeared. While they were initially feared, after communication was established, the seaponies discovered that these Pokémon were just as confused as they were.

Many of them had been separated from their families, such as Jay, a human boy who woke up as a Buizel, and Ripple, a Mantyke whose life had been saved by Jay. When they meet again, they join each other on a journey to search for their parents. But beyond the safety of Marelantis, the ocean is filled with danger, and had been long before the Pokémon arrived...
