After Starlight Glimmer left Twilight stranded in the time line of Nightmare Moon's rule, the corrupted Princess of the Night successfully got a hold of Star Swirl's time travel spell. Knowing this would result in the permanent reign of Nightmare Moon, Twilight is forced to destroy the spell, in hopes that she could either recreate it or recover the elements of harmony. She is unable to get much father, however, before Nightmare Moon throws Twilight in her dungeon, where she finds a rather familiar pink mare in the cell across from her . . .
