Lily Runs Away

Lilly screamed so loud that everyone in the lair heard and they all froze with shock and disbelief at the girl’s sudden outburst. Her father Leo stood in front of her, eyes wide with hurt. Her words pierced his heart like a sword and he tried so hard to hide the tears that threaten to fall.
The two of them had been arguing for what felt like hours. Lily during the whole time was the only one screaming, she was beyond angry. While Leo was quietly disagreeing trying to calm his daughter and holding back the pool of tears that only seemed to grow with each hurtful word his daughter threw at him. Fluttershy was in the middle of her daughter and husband’s argument, trying desperately to end the feud but her efforts were pointless…
then Lily shouted those three words and the world around them seem to stop and time stood still.
Ever since Lily was young she held such a resentment for her father because he was never there for her when she needed him. When Donnie finally got the portal up and working she, her mother and the girls all went to Equestria...all except Leo.
What Lily doesn’t understand is that her father and uncles have an important duty to protect not just the city but the whole planet. Since the first day they came out of the sewers they’ve ran into nothing but trouble. Robots, gangs, other mutants, an alien invasion, a black hole, and a space adventure. All putting them in dangerous situations...situations they do not want their daughters in. Especially when those situations involve the Shredder. He alone is reason enough to keep the girls in Equestria far away from the psychopath.
They had yet to tell the girls about their arch enemy and because of that Lily feels that her father is just making excuses for not wanting to be with her and everyday she questions if her father truly loves her or wants nothing to do with her.
Leo loves his daughter with all his heart, which is why he tries so hard to keep her safe. But those words hit him like a brick and the dam finally broke all the tears he’s been holding in came rushing out like a tsunami.
“L-lily..I..”
His voice cracked as he tried so hard to say..something anything but he soon found it extremely difficult to speak he had this huge lump in his throat that felt as though it was trying to choke him. Leo felt torn by those harsh words. The words that came from his daughter’s mouth. Words that were aimed at him directly. And they hit their mark. He stood there in silence, tears running down his face.
Lily glared at her father then growled, stomped her foot and took off, leaving the lair and a broken hearted Leo behind her.
“Lily! Wait!” Leo tried to run after her but Fluttershy held him back
“Let her go honey, she needs some time alone.”
“B-but..I..Augh! This is all my fault! I’m a terrible father!”
“No you’re not honey, she just doesn’t understand-”
“That’s because we’ve never told her or any of the girls the real reason we have them stay in Equestria.”
Raph intervened, everyone exchanged glances then nodded in agreement.
“...Alright Raph..I should go talk to her..” Leo turned back towards the entrance when Fluttershy put a hand on his shoulder
“Give her some time honey, she might be too upset to talk.”
“Flutter’s right bro, Lily just needs some time to cool off.” Raph did the same and they both lead Leo over to the couch, but Leo couldn’t help but feel he needed to go after her.
Lily ran through the streets her mind spinning with so many thoughts running through her head. She couldn’t think straight so she just kept running not caring where she ended up at just as long as it was far away from her dad.
Not watching where her feet went she tripped on a curb and fell her face hit the pavement hard. She had scraps and dirt all over her face that mixed with the blood and tears. She tried to push herself up but pain shot through her hand and she hissed slightly, looking at her palm to see a large cut in the center that was slowly oozing blood. She had a sixth sense that she must have fell on something sharp. It hurt a bit but going back wasn’t a good idea to her, she still needed time alone to think and calm down. Lily knew that if she went back home now she’d just get into another fight with her dad and the whole thing will start all over again. In the end she just sighed, pulling out a handkerchief from her pocket and wrapping it around her hand. She pushed herself off the ground staring at her hand while letting out another sigh.
“What else could go wrong?” she asked herself
Suddenly thunder cracked in the sky and rain began to pour down, soaking up into Lily’s hair and clothes.
“I just had to ask…”
The cold hit her and she shook a little wrapping herself in a hug and continued walking once again…
