The lives of Scylla and her father Pathfinder haven't exactly been easy since the caribou took over. Her father is one of the few stallions that are unaffected by whatever the new rulers did to the stallions of Equestria, but they have to go out of their way to hide that fact - always struggling to maintain the precarious balance between hiding their secret and maintaining an acceptably comfortable life. They still continue their business as explorers and mapmakers as far as possible, and the new order seems to have an increasing demand of maps of uncharted territories...

Things get even more complicated when one day, Daring Do appears at their house. The legendary explorer had been missing since even before the caribou took over, and no one really knows where she had been - but now she literally stands on their doorstep, though confused and disoriented almost to the point of madness. Despite barely being able to articulate any other coherent thought, she tells stories both terrifying and fantastic, about a realm of madness far south of Zebrica, and a mythical artifact that can grant wishes. Soon enough, the caribou also take an interest in her stories...

Content warning: This story contains sex and fetish scenes. Due to the nature of this setting, many of them will be non-consensual. It also contains unspeakable cosmic horrors and eldritch abominations. All characters involved in sexual activities in this story are 18 years or older. This is a work of fiction. Despite all of this though, this is decisively not primarily a porn story - there will be explicit sex scenes here and there, but not in every chapter, and they're not the focus of the story. If you're looking for the FoE-typical overabundance of oversexualized fetish porn content, I recommend that you look somewhere else.

This story takes place in the same universe as the other Fall of Equestria: Shattered Order stories, my Freeville Chronicles and Moonshade44's Hope in Bleak Times. Since it tells a different story with different characters, it can be read without them though. Shattered Order in general also treats Schorl Tourmaline's Fall of Equestria stories as canon for its own continuity - in this case particularly Bruised Apples and Meet Thy Maker. Once again, they only serve as a backdrop, and this story can be read without knowledge of them.
