A Proposal Leads To Tragedy
Twilight was walking through the halls of her castle to her on so she could take a break. She had been doing work all day that day so she was pretty tired. She stretched her legs as they had been in the same position all day.
As she walked to her room somepony knocked on the entrance to the castle so she went over to the entrance of the castle as she thought that one of her friends might be there. She made it to the front door and opened the door.
"Well hello there Twilight. I was wondering if my favorite marefriend was doing anything this evening...how about a stroll? Discord asked. Twilight frowned.
"Discord not right now....I have work to do! How about a bit later? I don't have time for a romantic evening. Besides my friends are going to be here soon!" Twilight exclaimed. Discord frowned.
"Alright...maybe next week then..." Discord said as he turned around and started to leave. Twilight blushed as she thought about him she spoke up.
"Wait! I know the work needs to be done but...maybe it can wait for a bit I guess...." Twilight said. Discord walked back up to her and hugged her.
"So where do you want to go?" Twilight asked. Discord said that it was a surprise and had her follow him. Twilight wondered where Discord was taking her. She wondered if he would just create some wacky land that he would take her to but she honestly didn't know for sure.
After walking for a bit Twilight and Discord ended up at the docks. Twilight realized that the sun was about to set. Twilight was amazed at the sight. She had no idea that Dsicord would be taking her here. Twilight sat by him as she looked at the sunset wondering why he had brought her there. After they watched the sunset for a bit Discord turned to Twilight and held her front hooves. Twilight tried to figure out what he was up to as he wasn't acting like his usual self. Discord spoke.
"Twilight all of us always have once chance at life. To live to our full potentials. I'm not trying to make a long speech or anything and I know that you expected me to treat this as a joke and not be serious as that's who I am sometimes but I'm serious right now. What I want to say is that I want to spend that chance with you." Discord said. Discord let go of her hands and knelt before Twilight and Twilight realized what he was doing. She was getting emotional. Discord pulled out a horn engagement ring and presented it to her.
"Will you marry me Twilight?" Discord asked.
"Yes! Yes I will! Oh this is the most happiest day of my life!" Twilight yelled. She jumped at Discord and hugged him tightly as she cried. It didn't feel real. It all felt like a dream. She started to sob happily. They both hugged for a few minutes and Discord slipped let her see the ring. Twilight looked at it for a bit and then began to kiss Discord with passion. They both took a break from kissing eachother and Twilight spoke.
"When can we have the wedding? Can we invite my friends and family and acquaintances ? Twilight exclaimed, Discord laughed.
"Well yes you can unless you want a private wedding which I would understand if you wanted one." Discord said. Twilight shook her head.
"No I want a public one where my friends and family are all invited. Discord you have no idea how immeasurably happy I am. I've loved you for a long time and I have never stopped demonstrating that. Ever since we first started going out I started to realize that you were the one. We should wait to start planning the wedding and we should tell my friends." Twilight said.
"We will get to all that soon but in the meantime we should enjoy the last remaining hours of the sunset. The wedding planning can wait for a few days." Discord teased. Twilight giggled and kissed him on the lips with passion. They broke away from the kiss and Twilight spoke.
"I have to get going Discord...sorry. Maybe we can do something with eachother tomorrow..." Twilight said with a blush. Discord grinned and winked at her.
"Well maybe I will have something tomorrow that will make you....extremely happy..." Discord said. Twilight smirked.
"I'll be waiting...." Twilight said seductively. Twilight and Discord left as they both presumed that they would be getting married. But that all changed. A few days later Discord was at home when Derpy came up to him.
"Derpy how good to see you! How's...how's Twilight?" He asked while blushing. Derpy gave him a sad look and shakily took out a newspaper article and handed it to her. Discord took it with a confused expression but that all changed when he read the article heading.
"Princess Twilight gets involved in deadly battle with creature attacking Ponyville. Dies in the process of killing it." Discord's body went numb. Once he read the article He couldn't believe what he was reading. He started to sob and kneel down with grief. Derpy comforted him.
"I'm so sorry Discord. Twilight's dead...." Derpy remarked with an emotional tone in her voice. Discord wanted to deny it. He wanted to believe that she was still alive. He gripped the newspaper tightly as tears dripped down his eyes.
A few days later Twilight was seen being lowered into an beautiful extravagant coffin, the stab wound was till visible. Ponies from around Equestria cried as they had lost one of their princess's. Meanwhile the huge body of the dead beast that Twilight had sacrificed herself to kill was being examined by scientists as they all wanted to know where it came from.
Discord was at neither of those locations as he was alone by a river looking at a picture of him and Twilight together. Tears dripped onto the frame as he couldn't stop crying. He shook with each sob. Slowly Lyra walked up to him. Discord turned around and spoke.
"What do you think was that thing?" Discord asked. Lyra thought about that question for a few moments and then shook her head.
"I don't Discord, but whatever it was there are more of them and they have to be stopped." Lyra remarked. Lyra comforted Discord for an hour and then walked away. Discord would always remember Twilight.
