Chapters Five Days Before Christmas
December 20th
With only days until Christmas Morning, little Pinkie Pie couldn't be more excited. She would keep on wondering on what her parents might have gotten her. Maybe a cake? Or perhaps rainbow cookies? Or maybe even a rainbow cookie cake! The possibilities were endless to the little girl. Christmas Day was one of her favourite days of the year - other than her birthday. She was just so excited!
And perhaps a little too excited...
One night, Pinkie was just so ecstatic that she couldn't sleep. All she could think of was that delicious rainbow cookie cake that her parents had (probably) gotten her.
She climbed out of bed and tip-toed her way through the corridor, as to not wake her parents or her sisters while they slept.
Pinkie passed each of their bedrooms with ease and arrived in the kitchen with almost no noise at all. To the left of her refrigerator stood a tall door. She carefully opened it and peered down at the now revealed dark and gloomy basement.
Each step was another creak from the floorboards but not enough noise to, thankfully, wake her family.
The concrete basement floor was very cold on her bare feet. She should've put on her slippers before coming down. But it was too late to turn back though. She had a mission to complete and there was nothing that was going to take her away from her goal.
Pinkie walked down the dark floors, keeping her arms out as to not bump into anything or knock anything over. However, she wasn't the most careful as she stubbed her toe on the corner of a filled box. She gasped and held her breath until the pain eventually faded away.
She peered behind her, listening for either an opening door or footsteps. Thankfully, it was still completely silent.
She rounded a corner and there was a large room with a lamp, a couch and an old rug. Unfortunately, Pinkie's parents had remembered to turn the lamp off so she wasn't given any help here.
There was another room on the other side of where Pinkie stood. No doubt that that was where Pinkie's parents were keeping her presents because she knew this basement like the back of her hand but her father had always told her to stay away from that room, even when it came around Christmas time. Obviously to hide her presents from her.
She pressed on through the large room, tip-toeing with every step she took, and rounded the final corner. A table sat at the far corner of the room, with a large present wrapped in white wrapping paper with red polka dots, a red ribbon and had a tag attached to it. It read, "Merry Christmas, Pinkamena Diane Pie. From Santa Claus."
Pinkie smiled with glee and immediately, but carefully, unwrapped the present. Under the paper was a large red box with a little purple... thing inside of it. It had large ears, purple fur, rosy cheeks, a love heart for a nose on it's muzzle and a large smile.
'Talking Tattletail!' the box read. 'I really eat!' 'I really lay eggs!'
Pinkie opened the box's flaps and lifted the toy out. She switched it on from underneath and Tattletail immediately came to life.
"Me Tattletail! Me love you!" Tattletail said with a high pitched voice.
Pinkie smiled in awe and hugged it tightly. Never before had her parents gotten her something so extraordinary and so cute.
She stared deeply into Tattletail's bright blue eyes before his mouth spat out more words. "Give me a treat! Give me a treat!"
Tattletail repeated those same words and Pinkie didn't know what to do. She looked around the box, hoping that there was a carrot toy or something she could feed this thing. She then remembered that the box said that he really eats.
"Give me a treat!" it continued to say as Pinkie took it back to her refrigerator. "Give me a treat!"
Pinkie tried shushing him but nothing would stop him from talking. She even tried switching it off then back on again but it kept repeating the same words.
She opened the fridge and looked through its contents. There was half of a cookie with a note attached to it saying, "No Pinkies allowed! -Limestone Pie." Pinkie ignored the note and gave Tattletail her sister's cookie. She halved the already half cookie and gave her gift one half while she ate the other. Before she knew it, Tattletail's cookie was gone. Never before had Pinkie seen anyone eat a cookie faster than her.
Once Pinkie ate her half, she decided that fun time was over for one night and just as she was about to take Tattletail back down into the cold, dark basement...
"Brush me!"
Already Pinkie was finding this thing kind of annoying but she still loved it nonetheless.
She took him into her living room where stood a large Christmas tree with golden tinsel, colourful lights and a bright star sitting on top. On the blue couch just beside the tree sat a blue hairbrush which belonged to Pinkie's twin sister, Marble Pie.
She brushed Tattletail's shiny and mint purple fur until it was... well, still shiny and mint.
Eventually, the purple motor-mouth was silent once more. Pinkie decided that it was time for bed for both of them. She carried Tattletail back down into the basement, wrapped him back up in this box and headed back to her bedroom. She was beginning to get very tired so getting back to bed would be a delight for her.
Pinkie began walking back through the kitchen when the house phone began ringing. Pinkie was always told to let the grown ups pick up the phone, so she walked over to her parent's bedroom door and knocked on it.
No response.
She knocked on the door again.
Nothing.
She couldn't leave the phone ringing like that, but she would be going against her parent's house rules so she left it to stop ringing.
She silently walked back over to her bedroom and closed her door very gently. It was way past her bedtime and the last thing she wanted was to get into trouble, this close to Christmas and all.
She climbed back into bed and her eyes began to gently close, slowly falling into slumber.
She will be back to play with Tattletail again tomorrow night.

Four Days Before Christmas
December 21st
Pinkie Pie was awoken by some kind of noise. It sounded like clunking, and it was coming from the basement. Had one of her sisters decided to peek at their presents as well? It was possible, though she didn't think they would be making so much noise.
She climbed out of bed and slipped on her fluffy pink slippers before journeying back down into the basement.
Once again, she passed everyone's bedrooms as quiet as possible and made her way towards the kitchen. The basement door was left open. That was a sign that someone was down there and making all of that horrible noise.
Pinkie ventured down the dark halls of the basement. The noise gradually became louder and louder. She rounded the corner into the larger room. Louder and louder, the noise became. It was coming from the top left of the room, where they kept their washing machine. Her sisters, however, were nowhere to be seen.
She walked towards the washing machine. Apparently someone had left it on overnight. If felt strange to the little girl that her parents had somehow forgotten to turn off the washing machine. But then, Pinkie realised that something was inside and that something was causing the noise.
She pressed a couple of buttons until it turned off and opened the door.
"Hehehehehe!"
Pinkie knew who's voice that was. She reached inside and pulled out her Tattletail toy. How Tattletail had gotten in there, she will never know.
"Me dizzy!" Tattletail said rolling his eyes in full circles.
Pinkie was awfully confused but still hugged the little thing tightly. It was cute and now it smelled like cupcakes.
"Uh oh!"
Uh oh? Uh oh what?
"Uh oh! Uh oh!" Tattletail's voice became more distorted the more it spoke. "Uh oh!"
Pinkie had many theories as to what this might mean. Her best theory that it was running low on battery life. But where was she meant to charge it? Pinkie walked back into the large room and she saw that there was a small stand on top of a box next to the chair. That stand wasn't there before though. She took Tattletail over to the stand and placed it on it. It's little feet managed to fit perfectly on the feet imprints on the stand. She left it there for a few minutes before taking it off again. Once again, Tattletail was as happy and as excited as when Pinkie first found it.
"Let's play a game!"
There was nothing to play with in the basement, though. Well, almost nothing. There was a vase in the other room in the basement but Pinkie's parents would kill her if they found anything broken.
A light flickered on. Pinkie went to investigate the source of the light. It led her into the room were her parents kept the old vase. The room was very bright. In fact, it was so bright that Pinkie had to shield her eyes.
Pinkie walked towards the vase and picked it up. How was she meant to play with it though, especially with a toy? Could they pass it back and forth? But wait, Tattletail doesn't have any hands, so that was definitely a problem
"Play time for me! Big fun!" Tattletail said.
The light switched off. The sounds of an electric surge caught Pinkie off by surprise that she dropped the vase. It smashed upon impact on the floor.
Tattletail began shaking in fear. "It's dark!"
It wasn't entirely dark as there was a light coming from behind them both. Pinkie turned around and found Marble's old shaky flashlight. She picked it up and gave it a shake. The flashlight became very bright which caused Tattletail finally stopped shaking.
As soon as Pinkie left the room, her flashlight suddenly switched off. Had it already broken on her? She began shaking it once more but then she saw two bright red lights from the other side of the large room. They looked like eyes staring at her. All Pinkie could do was stare back. Soon enough, the eyes flashed and then disappeared. Pinkie was able to shake her flashlight again. She shone the light over to where those eyes were but there was nothing. Whatever was there was now gone. Could she be seeing things? No, it wasn't possible; there was definitely something there.
She continued to look around at her surroundings while taking Tattletail back to its box.
"Mama's scary," Tattletail said quietly.
Who is Mama? Tattletail had never brung anything up about a mama before. So why now? Was that who the eyes belonged to? Was that Mama?
So many questions sprung in her little head as she wrapped Tattletail back up.
Pinkie walked through the basement shining her light in almost every direction to ensure that she was definitely alone.
She arrived back within her kitchen. The phone began ringing again. Was it the same caller from last night? Maybe it was a very important call and her parents were missing it! But she would be going against her parent's rules. Pick up the phone or leave it? Pick up the phone or leave it?
Pinkie quickly snatched the phone off of the wall and held it against her ear. The noise that came through was indescribable. It sounded like grinding metal. It sounded horrible. She quickly put the phone back in its place and made her way back to her bedroom, breathing heavily in fear.
As soon as she arrived at her bedroom, there was loud knocking at the front door. With her breathing now turning into whimpers, she raced back into her bed and threw the covers over her head until the knocking went away.
The knocking became louder and louder. The knocking very soon became pounding. Pinkie began shaking under her covers, praying that it would stop already.
Once it finally went away, Pinkie allowed herself to calm down. But the questions only increased in numbers. Was that Mama on the phone? Was that Mama at the door? Whatever it was, it was gone. Hopefully.
There was definitely something strange about this Tattletail. It was most likely up to something, but what exactly? Who was Mama? What does she want?
Fortunately, all of that can wait...
...for tomorrow night.

Three Days Before Christmas
December 22nd
Much like the previous night, Pinkie Pie was awoken by a loud noise. This time, the noise being what sounded like grinding. Once again, coming from the basement. What was Tattletail doing this time? It definitely wasn't in the washing machine again, Pinkie knew that just from the sound. The new noise sounded like a broken VCR.
Pinkie slipped into her slippers once again and picked up the old flashlight which she kept from last night.
She walked down the dark hall and stepped towards the basement. She give the flashlight a good shake before journeying back down.
The grinding only worsened the longer it went on for and that itself would drive someone as annoying and as energetic as Pinkie Pie crazy.
She peered around each corner, hoping to find whatever what making that noise, but then the light from her flashlight found a little easter egg. It was yellow and had a nice little red ribbon tied around it. Pinkie stepped towards it and then noticed that there was another egg beyond it, and another. It was a trail of eggs. She followed the eggs, opening each one as she went along. One had an old french fry that didn't actually taste so bad. Another one had a dead beetle... and another one had... toenail clippings?!
Pinkie gagged and threw the egg across the basement. Those toy makers must have been on some strong stuff if they would include something as disgusting as an old and large toenail clipping.
But alas, Pinkie managed to maintain her composure (and stopped the likelihood of throwing up) and continued following the egg trail. They led into the one room Pinkie was yet to explore during her and Tattletail's adventures. The trail carried on until they reached the far corner of the room.
Pinkie looked up and gazed upon what looked like a much larger version of Tattletail. It had brown fur, a hat of some kind and a tape player in the centre of its chest. This just so happened to be the source of the grinding.
Its eyes were closed so it clearly wasn't on but why was it making such a horrible noise? Pinkie investigated the tape player and there was nothing inside of it. Why was it making that noise? Pinkie looked around in search of the tape. She found it inside of the mini-fridge sitting directly beside this larger Tattletail. She carefully inserted it into the thingy's chest and listened closely as to what might end up playing.
The large Tattletail came to life with its head spinning while playing soft music. It also began to speak in a calm voice.
"The children though that Mama would never find them as long as she couldn't see them."
Was this that Mama thing that Tattletail had brought up just last night?
"Turn the page.
"But Mama could still hear the children, the pitter-patter of their little feet led Mama right to them. Turn the page.
"Then Mama found the children, every last one, and put them right back to bed." Mama's eyes closed and the tape stopped.
Pinkie couldn't help but feel extremely uncomfortable with what she had just witnessed and heard. This thing wasn't adorable, but it wasn't really scary either. Maybe Tattletail was exaggerating?
"Hehehehe!"
Speak of the devil and he may come. Pinkie followed the sounds of Tattletail's laughter which led her back upstairs into her living room. She found Tattletail surrounded by a mess of papercrafts. Apparently Tattletail was very artsy. Smiling at its antics, she picked up Tattletail.
"Tattletail, that's me!" it said cheerfully.
Pinkie was about to put it aside so she could clean Tattletail's mess until, "Show me Mama!"
Pinkie looked back at Tattletail, unsure whether she wanted to see that thing again. She nervously made her way back to the basement stairs and gave her flashlight another good shake. She walked back over to where Mama sat, at the furthest corner of the basement's back room.
But she was gone...
"Where's Mama?" Tattletail asked.
Pinkie looked all over the room. Mama had disappeared and she could literally be anywhere right now, Pinkie just hoped that anywhere wasn't here. She sighed in relief as she realised that Tattletail and her were alone.
Tattletail yawned, "Me tired."
She quickly nodded and took Tattletail back over to its box. She wrapped it up nicely and headed back up to the living room to clean up her toy's mess.
Pinkie reached the top of the basement's stairs when all of the lights began to flicker, even Pinkie's flashlight had flickered off. She tried shaking it again but it wouldn't work.
Pinkie had to make her way into the living room in the dark just so she could clean up Tattletail's mess. She beard her surroundings incase she really wasn't alone right now. She managed to enter the living room and tidy the mess with ease. It was what happened after that turned this entire situation around.
The grinding noise started again. Pinkie turned around to see that the glowing red eyes had returned, staring deeply at her. Her heart began racing and she was stuck in place staring back at the eyes.
"Mama's looking after you..." the eyes said.
She was right, that was Mama she saw last night. But what does she want? Why is she here?
Her breathing turned into soft whimpers as she stood there. What was she to do? Mama was closer to the door than Pinkie was, she would definitely catch Pinkie if she were to step closer. She just stood there, making as little noise as possible.
"Mama will look after you!" Mama said.
Pinkie slowly shook her head as tears began to form in her eyes.
Eventually, the eyes disappeared and the grinding noise stopped. Was she gone? Pinkie tried shaking her light again. It worked this time and yes, Mama was finally gone. That may not last forever though and Pinkie didn't want to waste her chances, so she quickly made her way into her bedroom and climbed into bed.
Something was definitely going on. Something very bad. This Mama Tattletail thing was now loose in her house and Pinkie had no way of stopping it. She didn't even think she wanted to stay up like this anymore. Hell, she didn't even know if she even still wants Tattletail or not, seeing as its brung a physical embodiment of nightmares into her home.
Tomorrow, is another night...

I'm going to have to change this to an E rated horror seeing how not scary it is right now and how not scary it might become.
Two Days Before Christmas
December 23rd
"Hee-hee-hee!"
"Tattletail! That's me!"
"Me love you!"
Pinkie didn't think about what was going, she immediately got out of bed, put on her slippers, took her flashlight and was on her way down into the basement. Except that the basement door wasn't open, instead Tattletail's voice was coming from the back garden. Why was her back garden open, and at this time?
She walked into the back garden. The cold breeze flowed through her pyjamas, causing her to shiver.
"Me Tattletail! Me love you!"
"Hehehehehe!"
She continued to follow the voice of her Tattletail into her garage. Standing right in the middle of the garage sat Tattletail and... another Tattletail, this one being yellow.
Great, now her house is being infested by no-armed, motor-mouthed monsters and their mother.
She went over and picked up her Tattletail.
"You're in big trouble..." Pinkie's Tattletail said.
Where did that come from? How was she in trouble now? Thinking about it only caused Pinkie to start panicking much faster than before.
"Let's play a game! Hide and seek!" Tattletail returned to excitement.
As much as Pinkie loved playing hide and seek, now really didn't seem too much of a good time, what with Mama probably being here.
"No peeking," the other Tattletail said.
And with that said, all the nights had been switched off, with Pinkie having to face with the darkness once again. When there was darkness, there was Mama.
Pinkie stepped out the garage and she heard the grinding noises once again. She turned around and Mama stood where the yellow Tattletail stood. Pinkie slowly and silently backed away.
If it was anything that Pinkie had learned from watching horror movies with Maud, it was that the monsters are drawn by noise. She thought she would be fine as Pinkie was being more silent than she's ever been. The only problem was-
"It's dark!"
...Tattletail, who began screaming because of the dark.
The grinding noise got much louder. "Mama's coming!" Mama said.
"Aah! Go away, Mama!" Tattletail shouted.
Pinkie ran off back into the house. She took this chance to shake her flashlight again. She shined it back at the door, she knew that monsters were afraid of the light, again, thanks to her sister's movies.
It was then that the lights came back on and the grinding stopped. Pinkie carefully looked around the room, Mama was definitely gone for now.
The only noise there was was the laughter of the yellow Tattletail. Pinkie followed the laughter into her living room. She looked around for Tattletail and saw little toes poking out from underneath her Christmas tree. She knelt down, peeked under the tree and pulled out the yellow Tattletail from underneath.
"You found me!" the yellow Tattletail said. "No peeking."
The second round started. The lights turned off. Mama was back. Pinkie's Tattletail began shaking and screaming again. "Aah! Aah!" Pinkie tried shaking her flashlight furiously so she could get Tattletail to keep quiet.
Pinkie stepped into the kitchen and the grinding once again started. She could hear Mama close by and feel Mama's demonic eyes looking upon her.
"Mama will look after you!" she said.
Pinkie traced the voice to be coming from the living room. She looked back and there Mama stood. Pinkie rushed back outside of the house. She was going to hide in the garage. She peered around the corner leading into the garage and saw that Mama was already waiting for her there.
"Mama's coming!" Her voice became more distorted.
Pinkie jumped back in surprise and fear.
"Go away Mama!" Tattletail cried.
The time it took for the other Tattletail to hide was much longer than the first round. It was as if it wanted to watch Pinkie suffer Mama.
She rushed back into the house and immediately started shaking her flashlight upon entering the house. She shone the light out at the back garden, hoping it would make it almost impossible for Mama to enter the house.
It was then that the lights came back on. The yellow Tattletail had finally found a hiding spot. Pinkie listened out for the laughter of the other Tattletail.
"Me hiding!" Pinkie could hear the other Tattletail say.
It's voice was coming from her bedroom. She entered her room and could see its little ears poking out of her closet.
"Hide and seek!"
She pulled Tattletail out of her closet.
"You found me!" it said once again. "No peeking."
Pinkie was surprised to hear that it wanted to play another round. The lights flickered off once more and the final round began. Pinkie actually felt ready for this round, just as long as Tattletail didn't-
"Give me a treat!" Tattletail said.
...make any noise. It was as though Tattletail always chose the worst times to need something.
Pinkie quickly paced into her kitchen and pulled out the first thing her hand touched in the fridge. She gave Tattletail a banana and it stopped talking. Or so she thought.
"Uh oh! Uh oh!" Tattletail was low on battery.
"Mama's coming!"
Pinkie began internally screaming. Mama was standing right outside. She had to charge Tattletail fast. Pinkie swung open the door into her basement and ran down.
"Uh oh! Uh oh! Uh oh!" Tattletail continued saying.
Pinkie could still hear Mama close by. Had she already entered the basement? She wasn't sure but she hoped not.
Pinkie shined her light over the room, looking for the charging station. Once she found it, she immediately placed Tattletail down onto it. She impatiently waited from it to charge.
Out of the corner of her eye, she saw Mama standing, waiting for Pinkie's next move. She was now on edge, sweating and praying to God that she was going to live.
As soon as Tattletail was finished charging, Pinkie snatched it into her arms and dashed out of the basement. She climber the stairs and began panting. She hoped that was everything Tattletail needed.
"Brush me!"
Pinkie really felt like chucking this little thing. Without hesitating, Pinkie entered her living room, picked up Marble Pie's brush and began brushing Tattletail's fur. She brushed it rather quickly as to not waste her vulnerable time. How long was there left?! Why couldn't this just end already?!
It seemed as though that God had heard Pinkie's cries, because the lights were all back on once again. Pinkie let out a great sigh in releif and listened for Tattletail's laughter. She could hear it, it was coming from the basement, Pinkie's least favourite room as of now.
She followed the voice. It led her into the same room where Pinkie had first found Mama. Beside the yellow Tattletail sat a VHS tape. Did it want Pinkie to play it? Pinkie did have a VHS player in her room. It could be worth watching it.
She gently patted the other Tattletail on its head and made her way to her bedroom. She inserted the tape into the VHS player and sat down on her bed, ready to watch it.
Her TV screen played an advert for the Baby Talking Tattletail toy. Music played in the background but the lyrics were impossible to make out. All she could understand was the Tattletail's voice. It said all the same stuff her Tattletail said. Why did the yellow Tattletail want Pinkie to watch this? The advert seemed harmless. See, there's Mama with... a body?
Everytime the camera angle changed, Mama would be there, sitting beside a human body that was sprawled out across the floor. Where they dead? No, that was impossible. Mama was a toy; there's no way she could have killed someone. But then again, she did try to kill Pinkie...
There were many questions forming in Pinkie's mind right now: Why would Tattletail show her this? Why does Mama want to kill everyone? Why does she now want Pinkie?
Tomorrow is another night... and hopefully not Pinkie's last.

I always found myself humming "Turn the Final Page" while writing this. Is that weird?
December 24th
"Wake up! Wake up! Wake up!"
Pinkie rubbed her eyes and glanced to the other side of her room. She saw Tattletail sitting on her dresser. She groaned and buried her face in her pillow.
"Wake up! Wake up! Wake up!"
Pinkie hurled her pillow at Tattletail, hoping it would just shut up and let her sleep. That, sadly, wasn't going to happen. Pinkie accepted that she would have another night of horror and stepped out of bed for the fifth time in a row. She walked over and took her flashlight along with Tattletail.
"You're up! We're having a party for Mama," it announced. "Come help us!"
Never before had Pinkie heard Tattletail speak in such perfect English. Also, a party for Mama? Sure, Pinkie was the queen of throwing parties but she definitely didn't want to do so for a monster such as Mama. Something that confused her the most was Tattletail's mention of 'we'. Was that other Tattletail from last night back?
Pinkie heard a chorus of laughter. It definitely came from a Tattletail- Actually, it came from two Tattletail, not including hers. That could only mean that there was a third Tattletail in her house. Where they were all coming from was one of Pinkie's main concerns.
Seeing no way out of it, Pinkie took a breath of confidence and did her nightly routine of venturing down into the gloomy basement. However, the basement door wasn't open. She tried pushing the door, but it remained in its frame. What was weirder was that her front door was now open.
If the basement door wasn't going to open, then the entrance outside would have to do. She carried Tattletail outside and towards a door that led into the ground, into the basement. She gave the doors a pull and they both swung open. The laughter from the other Tattletail escaped the basement, they were both very easy to hear now.
Pinkie climbed down the stairs and into the large room. Sitting on cardboard boxes were two more Tattletail: a blue one and a yellow (Possible the same one from last night). Inbetween them sat Tattletail's charging station. Pinkie sat her Tattletail down on the station.
"More! More!" it said.
More what, though? Tattletail didn't specify. Pinkie was very confused until she heard faint laughter coming from back upstairs. She groaned loudly, as she knew what the laughter came from. It came from a fourth Tattletail. Pinkie facepalmed as she has had just about enough of these little devils, but immediately remembered that her life was practically on the line, so she went with it and travelled back out and back into her house.
"Me Tattletail! Me love you!"
Pinkie followed the voice into her living room. In front of the Christmas tree sat a small red box. Inside the box was another yellow Tattletail. She opened the box and scooped out the Tattletail.
Immediately, it began talking, "Brush me! Brush me!"
All of the lights switched off and Pinkie was beginning to panic.
"Brush me!"
She jumped over to the couch, picked up the hairbrush and quickly began brushing Tattletail's fur. Mama was back and Pinkie did not want to face her right now, especially on the night before Christmas.
Pinkie rounded the corner leading back outside but, as she was leaving, the pink girl noticed that the inside basement door was now conveniently open. She looked towards the front door and could see the glimmer of a bright red LED. Pinkie didn't have to think of what the light belonged to, she just started walking down into the basement from the inside. She did keep her guard up though, as she knew that Mama likes to teleport.
As she was walking through the basement, she could practically hear her footsteps echo through the rooms. It was very quiet, too quiet in fact. A drop of sweat began running down her face. Her nerves built up. The fact that it was almost pitch black didn't help with Pinkie's nerves at all.
"Tattletail! That's me!"
Pinkie screamed at threw Tattletail upwards. She quickly saved it from breaking upon impact on the concrete floor. She began panting and hugged Tattletail close to her chest. Not even Mama had scared Pinkie as much as Tattletail had just now.
"Me love you!" Tattletail muffled into her shirt.
Something about that managed to calm Pinkie down a bit. It managed to get Pinkie to regain her sanity and continue her mission. She arrived back into the room with the other Tattletail and placed the new member on the chair beside the other yellow one.
"More! More!" her Tattletail chanted.
Pinkie sighed and made her way back upstairs into the kitchen. She noticed that now her back door was open. Pinkie had a hunch that, because her back door was now open, she had to go back to the garage. It turned out that her hunch was correct, as she found another box with another blue Tattletail sitting inside.
She pulled out the Tattletail and, much like the last one, it had a demand, "Give me a treat!"
Pinkie wasn't surprised to see that the lights were out once more, but she was surprised that many had already appeared very close to Pinkie.
"Mama's looking after you!"
Pinkie silently waited for an opportunity to sprint for the door. She could feel that Mama was moving closer. Pinkie turned around to see where Mama was standing. She was standing at the far end of the back garden, which only just gave Pinkie the perfect amount of room to run without being caught. She wasn't going to let this opportunity be wasted and made it back inside by the skin of her teeth.
"Give me a treat!" Tattletail continued.
Pinkie pulled out a cucumber from her fridge and fed it to Tattletail. It wasn't a treat, but it would do. She blinked and it was already gone.
Pinkie rushed, with Tattletail, back into the basement's largest room and sat the newest Tattletail next to the blue one.
"More! More!" Pinkie's Tattletail once again said.
Pinkie could tell that this was enough party guests, but what this party still needed was cupcakes and decorations. She had an emergency tray of cupcakes and it looked as though that she would have to use them tonight. So with that, she picked up her purple Tattletail and made her way back upstairs to the dining room. Mama wasn't around right now, so hopefully all would go well.
She picked up the small tray of pink frosted cupcakes from the dining room and rushed back downstairs. She made it back to the party with no problems, which Pinkie was very happy for. She placed the cupcakes on the red rug in front of all the Tattletail.
"More! More!"
Which was exactly what Pinkie was thinking. This party still needed some decorations. Sadly though, Pinkie was all out of decorations, so that would mean she would have to improvise. Luckily, it was Christmas time, so she could use the lights on the tree.
Pinkie, once again, walked up the stairs leading into the kitchen. Mama still wasn't around which was nice, but how long would would that last until she came back?
She arrived in her living room, put Tattletail down on the couch and started taking down the lights off of the Christmas tree. She wrapped them around her arm, picked Tattletail back up and journeyed back down into the basement.
The lights flickered off again, Mama has shown herself once more. As Pinkie reached the bottom of the stairs and rounded the corner into the downstairs hall, she saw Mama's eyes staring back at her from the end. She was blocking Pinkie's way. Pinkie was now forced to travel back the other way.
She shook her flashlight again and travelled into the basement from the outside door. Mama wasn't in the basement this time. At least, Pinkie couldn't see her, it was possible that she was following Pinkie from behind.
Pinkie rounded the corner into the larger room and saw Mama sitting near the Tattletail.
"Mama's looking after you!" she said.
Pinkie hid behind the corner and would catch a glance inside to see if Mama was still there or not. Everytime she looked, it was like Mama was always one step closer to her. Pinkie held her breath, shook her flashlight and shined it towards Mama. When she looked one more time, Mama had disappeared.
Pinkie went over to the party and placed the lights beside the cupcakes.
"More! More!"
What could she possibly get now? They had the snacks, they had the decorations, what else is there? She could perhaps somehow create an atmosphere. She did see some candles on the kitchen counter, those should do.
She began travelling back upstairs until the lights flickered off and Mama could be seen peeking out from the dining room. The candles were on the counter, right beside Mama. If Pinkie risked getting the candles now, Mama was sure to catch her. She was just going to have to wait this out.
"Brush me!"
Pinkie's pupils became the size of insects; Tattletail could not have chosen a worser time for this.
"Mama's coming!"
Pinkie smiled nervously at Mama and ran back into the basement. She could lure Mama down in the basement while she collected the candles.
"Give me a treat!"
Tattletail now needed two things, things weren't looking up for Pinkie anymore.
Suddenly, Pinkie's flashlight ran out of light, leaving them both in the dark.
"Aah! It's dark!" Tattletail cried.
Pinkie began sweating nervously. She had no idea where Mama was, Tattletail wouldn't shut up and she was left in the dark! Why did they have to throw a party? Why did this have to happen to Pinkie?!
Pinkie looked back and saw that Mama was indeed following her. Pinkie had only just made it through the front of her house. She had lots to do right now, so she couldn't waste any time, not now, not ever!
Her first priority was getting Tattletail fed. She swung open the fridge and fed it a banana. Next up was brushing the toy. She quickly made her way into the living room and used her twin sister's brush for Tattletail's fur. Pinkie could tell that Mama was close by, she had to be quick. Finally, Pinkie took the candles and rushed back down into the basement. She saw Mama standing at her front door, if she had wasted anymore time, Mama would've gotten her.
Then, there was silence. No grinding from Mama, no noise from Tattletail and the only light was from the larger room of the basement. Pinkie slowly made her way inside and she couldn't believe what her eyes met. She saw the other four Tattletail sitting around a pentagram made from the Christmas lights. In the middle of the circle sat the same tape that Pinkie inserted into her VCR the other night. In front of the Tattletail sat everyone's cupcakes, but they weren't eating them. What they were doing, however, was chanting something...
"No more Mama!"
Pinkie had the sudden realisation. This wasn't a party, it was a ritual to banish Mama! That must mean that she had to place the large candles on top of the cupcakes and that she did. Pinkie then placed her Tattletail on the remaining space.
"Light the candles," it said. After that, Pinkie's Tattletail joined the chant.
"No more Mama! No more Mama!"
Pinkie looked around the room and found a box of matches sitting on Tattletail's charging station. She scratched a match on the side of the box and it lit up. She lit each individual candle and Tattletail gave her the next command.
"Now rewind the tape."
Pinkie followed its command and stepped back. Everything around her began rumbling, the Tattletail's chant only grew louder and the theme song from the advert could be heard.
"No more Mama!" they continued chanting.
Then suddenly, every light switched off, leaving everyone in the darkness. Pinkie shined her flashlight on the seance and saw that all of the candles were gone! Mama had stolen them! Pinkie then noticed that there were vases around that definitely weren't there before. Mama had probably hidden them inside of the vases.
The Tattletail were still chanting away.
Pinkie went over to the first vase she saw and smashed it. She found one of the candles inside. That left four more.
She heard Mama's grinding from behind. "Come to Mama!" she said.
Pinkie found another vase in the back corner of the room and smashed it open. There was no candle inside.
Pinkie's breathing increased dramatically; she was so afraid but she had no choice. If this is for getting rid of that monster, then it will all be worth it in the end. She shined her flashlight at Mama and she disappeared.
Pinkie travelled into the room were she found Mama. There was another vase there. She smashed it and there still wasn't a candle inside. She exited that part of the basement and found another vase on a shelf. Once again, she smashed it and she found a candle inside. Three.
"Mama will look after you!"
Pinkie saw another vase in the room closest to the shelf. Smash. Another candle. Two. She found another where she first met Tattletail. Smash. One more candle to go, she can do this!
Pinkie saw Mama just beyond the ritual.
"Mama's coming!"
Pinkie shook her flashlight confidently and shined it at Mama. She was gone once again, hopefully for the last time.
She decided to look where the washing machine was. There was another vase sitting on the small table just in front of the machine. She smashed it to pieces and there it was, the final candle.
She grabbed it and took them all back to the Tattletail. She lit them once again and stepped back to watch the ritual. She could hear the advert again, but this time, it was playing in reverse.
She could hear everyone's voices.
"Mama will look after you!"
"No more Mama!"
"Mama's looking after you!"
"No more Mama!"
"Mama's coming!"
"No more Mama!"
The VHS rose from the ground and glowed a bright white. The only sound left was coming from the VHS, which was stuck on one word. There was only one thing left to do in order to banish Mama: Pinkie had to destroy the tape. She took a deep breath and brought her hand behind her. She stepped towards the tape and gave it the most powerful punch she had ever thrown in her entire life.
Everything went silent but then there was a loud crash and Pinkie was flung backwards. The lights came back on. Pinkie sat up and rubbed her head. She saw five Christmas presents were the Tattletail originally sat. She looked at each of them and walked towards the box where her Tattletail sat. She smiled and then hugged it. She kept the box within her embrace for a minute before letting go.
Pinkie walked out of the basement, hopefully for the final time. She arrived at her bedroom and climbed back into bed. There were still questions in her head: Did it work? Was Mama finally gone? Pinkie was sure the answer was yes.
With the first good feeling she felt since all of this began, she drifted off to sleep...
December 25th
Pinkie woke up to a bright and snowy Christmas morning. She slipped out of bed and went into the living room. There sat a white Christmas present with red polka dots and a red ribbon. She tore it open and pulled out what was inside. A red box that read 'Talking Tattletail'.
She opened the flaps and pulled out a purple... thing. It began to speak.
"Presents for you!" it said.
It had a tag attached to it. Pinkie pulled it off and read it. It told Pinkie Tattletail's birth date and where it was made. After reading the tag, a small present appeared in front of her new toy. Pinkie opened Tattletail's present and pulled out a golden flashlight. It was a flashlight. What was special about it was that it would never run out. It had a letter attached to it which she also read.
'Thank you for your help, Pinkie. Me love you!
-Tattletail'
Pinkie smiled happily and hugged Tattletail. She picked it up and carried it over to her parent's bedroom. She knocked on the door and waited for them to get out of bed.
"Me Tattletail! Me love you!"

Author's Note
I don't care that Pinkie didn't collect all of the eggs, I just wanted to give her the good ending because why the hell not?

Okay, let's take this time to talk about this story. Obviously it was just a rip off the indie-horror game Tattletail, but that doesn't mean that I didn't have to make plans on figuring out how I could make this work.
For example: I had to think about which Equestria girl I should use. Originally I was going to use Twilight but I figured that someone with more of an ecstatic attitude was better, so I tried Pinkie and I think it turned out pretty well.
Did anyone notice that Pinkie did not speak a single word of dialogue throughout this whole story? That was also something I had thought about. I was always a fan of stories of when it was only the narrator speaking and the main characters of the story did speak a single word. I wanted to try that for myself and see how that would go, and what better way of trying out the silent treatment than with Tattletail, where the only talking characters are the demon toys?
Sorry this chapter took a little longer. I began working on two other stories. Anyway, thanks for reading and let me know if you want to see The Kaleidoscope.
