Corrupted tyranny
Corruption's arrival
Previous ChapterArriving at the border, I saw that there were checkpoints surrounding it's entirety. Most likely stretching across the entire border of Equestria, isolating it from the rest of the world. As I discovered went by the name Equis after listening to my escorts talk. Looking at Stone Wall I could see that he commanded those of a lower rank with great precision as they all seemed to remain loyal and put great trust in him. He was worthy of much more than a rank of lieutenant but rather a captain or even a general.
Once we had reached the border the guards at the checkpoint stopped us and cast me a fearful and suspicious glance before they used some magic to what I guessed was to scan us for something. Panicking I used as much normal magic as I could and brought it to the surface of the powers and knowledge in my mind whilst also using anti-magic to cancel out any dark or forbidden magic I had, for a short amount of time as this power drained me of my life force as I did it. After being let through I I realeased the anti-magic and relaxed, wiping my snout as blood dripped from my nose. Sighing I realised how close that was and how everything I had planned could have ceased to come to fruition had I been caught there. I had unfortunately learnt how taxing anti-magic is as it has caused me to sweat from my brow and bleed from my nose.
Turning around I saw my escorts waving me a goodbye before marching back north, looking to my left I saw that Stone Wall was looking at me with curiosity and slight concern. It was nice to know that someone cared though I doubted it was anything more than out of fear. Smiling I tasted iron, realising my nose was bleeding once more I wiped the blood away before playfully lapping it up like a dog, taking great amusement in Stone Walls look of utter disbelief and confusion.
"Why are you only a lieutenant Stoney?" I questioned snickering slightly at the nickname I had given him before continuing "I mean, you lead those guards with enough skill to at least consider yourself a Sargent," I pressed trying to see the reasoning behind his low rank as he would be useful in the military of my empire, should my plans succeed, I would have to put him in charge of my military due to his skill but I needed to see if he was truly worthy.
He looked down sadness washing over him as he slowed his pace, "The Sargents that were going to promote me decided against it because of my friendship with a griffin and they were, like most of equestria... They were," He hesitated clearly uncomfortable with saying the word that I already knew he was going to say, "They were racist and most of equestria is, to anything that isn't a pony, apart from other herbivores like us ponies or dragons but they fear dragons so," trailing off he was clearly distraught and angered as I heard the venom drop from his words this time, as he mentioned the racists and the equestrians.
"I see," looking him in the eyes I knew that he could be of use to me and would make for a grand general "well if it was up to me you would of been leading the guard by by now," looking up to me I saw that his eyes were filled with wonder, awe and determination. With that one look I knew that he was not only hooked but I was already reiling him in and I couldn't help but flash a toothy grin.
Pausing, I looked upon the fields and felt a warm breeze that was rather uncomfortable whilst the cold felt calming, slowly my eyes found their way to a mountain that harboured a poorly constructed castle that seemed to be more for aesthetic purposes as it didn't seem practical in anyway possible as it seemed a single pebble could cause it to fall off the cliff face. Continuing to walk I turned to Stone Wall "Come on then I have somewhere to be" I ordered in a calm telex manner that still spoke dominance.
"Oh, yes sure" Stone replied before hurrying to catch up as he struggled to keep at my pace. My anticipation increased as I longed to clarify where I was in the timeline along with my determination to win the ponies trust and unyielding desire to screw with the ponies heads. However I slowed for a second when Stone mumbled a "thank you. For what you said," grinning I picked up the pace once more and couldn't help but swell with pride and feel my hunger for power increase as the thought that I now had him reeled in filled me with tyrannical glee as I felt madness slip through the cracks in my shattered sanity as I Invisioned him as my general commanding my armies as I sit upon my throne.
As we went passed Canterlot I could see the village Ponyville a few miles away, my intrigue grew more as I looked down at it. My thoughts of meeting the main 6 and messing with them were abruptly stopped when Stone decided to speak up "you know I still can't believe you knocked the Sargent upside the head," his comment however caused a reaction he clearly didn't expect, as I snapped my head towards him with my neck lowered so that I was at eye level with him and began laughing maniacally, my howls of insanity piercing the air as my eyes widened, my pupils but pinpricks, the iris' became more blue and hardly visible wisps of dark purple smoke began leaking from my eyes. Stone's face contorted to one of horror at my cackling mad self, he took a few steps back before stopping "hey, Beelzebub I know it was funny but I'm not sure it was that funny" he chuckled nervously before cautiously stepping towards me and patting me on my back in a slow manner, still on guard and ready to run if I were to do anything. This caused me to calm a little as my eyes returned to grey and my laughter subsided into just a light chuckle that I still couldn't stop as seeing the prick Sargent sprawled out on the floor with a broken, bleeding face and the stunned faces of all his subordinates and Stone's look of shocked glee filled me with a twisted joy.
"Thank you Stone Wall" I commented "now then about Ponyville, we both know that the elements of harmony live there so we will need to be careful even though I plan to meet them but avoid the pink one" he gave me a confused look as he tilted his head to one side, akin to how a dog would "I've heard stories of the pink menace and believe me she's not someone to take lightly," I responded to his unspoken question, half-lying about only hearing stories about her as in fact I had watched the show and came to two conclusions on the reasoning behind 'pinkie being pinkie'.
My musings were inturupted by Stone "umm don't you mean 'somepony' instead of 'someone?" he questioned putting emphasis on the 'pony' "and when you say to be 'careful' do you mean because of the little bit of dark magic that leaked from your eyes" he continued my eyes widening as I prepared to dispatch of the stallion, "don't worry I won't tell anyone. Even though I'm an earth pony I've dabled in the dark and forbidden arts before, of course I couldn't do magic but I could summon a few things," he finished, chuckling as I relaxed and saw Stone in a new light.
"For one, that's surprising to hear and I'm sure there's a story behind it but no I don't mean 'somepony'" I replied jokingly but finished with pure disgust oozing from the word somepony "I find it rather racist. specist?" I continued though not sure what to call it due to there being a different vocabulary.
"Well that makes sense, guess I'll have to get used to saying 'one' instead of 'pony'," he commented with a look of contemplation as we continued on our trek. After an hour had passed Stone decided to mention "by the way there is no story, just I found an illegal book and found that us earth ponies are good at summoning, Pegasi are good at necromancy cause of their wings and something about electricity" he waved off "and unicorns are good at it all. Course everyone gets corrupted and turns evil through continued use, kinda why I stopped before it could get to me." he finished his small lecture/backstory with a proud, shit-eating grin.
"Ok smart ass well done. You cheated," I countered before laughing at his shocked and mock-hurt face. "I've never stopped, but then again I was never sane nor was I ever not corrupt," I chuckled as his face remained shocked but I also saw another hint of concern. Without another word we arrived at the entrance to Ponyville, smiling a sinister smile I strode into town pulling down my hood with a low ominous hum and a dark purple glow getting a good laugh out of the gawking and panicked expressions. Until the mane 6 showed up, this only made my grin widen.
"Stop! Who are you? And what are you doing here? Why are you here? Why are you frightening the other ponies?" Demanded Twilight in one breath with a stern, action ready expression. The rest of the mane six were the same, except Fluttershy who was struggling to keep up the (admittedly adorable) charade and Pinkie Pie who was bouncing on one spot and grinning widely.
"Whoa one question at a time you'll give me a headache you annoying element bearing, over-bearer" I complained whilst moaning at her. I looked at Pinkie Pie and warned her "Now now we both know you shouldn't use that too much or just not around me. I mean I know you are living proof of the string theory not being a theory, and can use it but not all the time for the simple reason that it starts to loose its effect, oh and I can not be held accountable for what I will do to you if you appear behind me," I lectured her in a parental way as if I was telling off a small child.
She immediately stopped bouncing, pouted for a second before bowing slightly and replying to me "of course sire," in a serious tone that shocked everyone in ear shot but only left me rather happy with my self.
I laughed before realising "oh well done Miss Pie you just inflated my ego" I complained then went on a tangent "I didn't know I had an ego before that. Oh my... that's a blumming huge ego. How did that even fit in my head. Wow that's impressive. Oh there we go again with the ego," I stopped catching my breath as I came to realise everyone was staring at me like I needed serious help. Whispering I asked them "can I trust you to show me around, or do I have to do it myself?"
Scrambling and struggling to find words they all fumbled with their mouths as they seemed speechless before Pinkie screamed "yes! Of course we will!" Satisfied I gave a nod and looked to Stone wearing a cocky victorious grin.
"Oh I can't wait to mess with them," I whispered to Stone. As the elements slowly started to walk off with confusion and shock bleeding from their steps and expressions, Pinkie however was bouncing as usual yet somehow managed to make her leaps in the air seem slightly more dignified.
Stone's face became plastered with shock, horror and disbelief as he looked to me and with a hushed yell asked "that was not Messing with them?!"
"Nope" I answered with a wink
