Zacky and Flashy (Introduction)
Equestria has always been peaceful, if you discount the ancient evils resurfacing, but that's just a normal Tuesday morning. Which just happened to be today.
Somewhere deep in this country, in the city known as Manehattan, a huge fire started and, spreading panic across the city. The reasons for this fire were unknown, and that didn't help the panicking citizens any. However, despite all the sounds of sirens and screams going on outside, a family of 4 didn't notice the fire coming toward them. Finally, a mare who had just woken up saw the fire in front of their window and gasped, turning to the second occupant of the bed.
"HONEY! WAKE UP! W-WE GOT GO!" She started vigorously shaking her husband in an attempt to wake him up, before leaping out of the bed. "Kids?! Zacky! Looma!"
The mare, who is named Lucy, was in a panicking state as she wanted her kids, Zacky and Looma, to be safe. The stallion however, who was sleeping next to her, was not giving any signs of waking up, even as smoke started to fill the room.
"HONEY?! JACK?! WAKE UP!" There was no response, indicating that Jack most likely suffered a terrible fate. "N-NO!! I-I must wake the kids up!"
Lucy rushed into Zacky’s and Looma’s room as the smoke started to invade the kids room too.
"Zacky! Looma! Wake up! THERE'S A FIRE!!!!" Lucy was not going to lose her kids like she lost her husband, so she yelled at the top of her lungs to make sure they woke up.
"M-Mom? What happened...." Zacky asked as he woke up first, followed soon by his sister. He rubbed his eyes for a moment before soon registering what his mom said. "Wait, THE HOUSE IS ON FIRE?!"
"MOMMY! I'M SCARED!" Looma said as she started crying.
The flames soon started entering the room, cornering the 3 of them. Glancing around, they noticed they had nowhere to go but the window,which Lucy was quick to open, only to see that the surrounding houses were on fire too. But looking down, she saw a last shred of hope to the kids.
"Zacky, Looma, please... take care of yourselves…” She said in a sad voice as she hugged her two foals. Then, out of nowhere, she grabbed them and held them out the window.
"Mom?! W-WHAT ARE YOU DOING!" Both Zacky and Looma said as Lucy used all her strength to throw them out of the burning house and into a bush that was far enough from the flames.
"Goodbye… my foals..." Lucy let these last words hang in the air, tears flowing down her face as the flames engulfed her and the rest of the bedroom.
On the bush, Zacky was knocked out cold, as for Looma, she just watched their house slowly succumbing to the fire, doing nothing but cry, cry that her family is gone… Gone from Equestria… Gone from the living world.
"M-M-MOMMY!!! DADDY!!!!!" Looma cried uncontrollably. That was the scene the ponies from the department arrived to, the crying filly in front of the burning house. One of the ponies started comforting Looma, and took her to check for injuries. However, on his haste, he failed to notice the knocked out colt deeper on the bush.
Looma soon was taken into custody of the nearby Orphanage, and when Zacky woke up, he would have no idea that both his Mom and Dad were gone, and wondering why Looma wasn't with him. This night, was one he wouldn't forget easily.
The next morning, on the other side of Manhattan, a Pegasus named Flashy was flying around in search of food. The colt would do anything he could to find food. Either from from picking leftovers or nice ponies who gave him. Flashy wasn't the type of colt to be a stealer, he did try to steal once, but got beaten up from a mean cook.
"If only I had bits, dang it!" Flashy said with a groan. "Stealing is for meanies, so I can only find leftovers, ugh..."
Something then caught Flashys attention. A food stand saying free food Mondays and Fridays at 3PM to be specific. Today must be his lucky day, for it was Friday. Flashy quickly flew to the stand wondering what they had.
"Please have Corn Dogs…" Flashy stared at the signs of what they sold until he found the so desired Corn Dog. "Ah there it is!"
After a few minutes of picking the flavors, Flashy flew up to a nearby cloud to enjoy his treat, as it's been months since he had something delicious. If only it were Taco Tuesday, he would have dozens of Tacos in the cloud for him to enjoy in the next 3 weeks and a half too.
"I don't want to have these every Mondays and Fridays. I really want to join the Wonderbolts when I get older though. Rainbow Dash is sooooo awesome, as well as Spitfire, Sorain, Surprise, and ThunderLane! I am getting quite tired of being in Manehattan though, maybe that Ponyville town is a nice spot to live?" Flashy looked up at the sky as he daydreamed. Until he heard a yell from down below. "Huh? What is it this time!"
Flashy peeked over the edge of the cloud to find Zacky yelling and crying as he couldn't believe his family was gone. He was also panicking if his sister made it out alive. Zacky's sister was at the age of 5, and Zacky is at the age of 7.
"He seems alone and afraid!" Flashy thought. Is he an orphan? If he is, then he can join me and not go to the Orphanage! That's a really nasty place...
"L-Looma, M-Mom... D-D-Dad!!!" Zacky yelled again as he looked at the remains of his house being cleaned up by construction workers.
Flashy finished his Corn Dog and decided to fly down to speak with Zacky. He only hoped that Zacky could join him.
"Hey kid? Are you ok?" Flashy said as he landed on the ground and trotted over. He glanced over at what must have once been Zacky’s house, now only a smouldering pile of embers. "You lost your family too didn't you?"
"I-I did...” Zacky sniffed as he turned to Flashy. “I lost t-them! I-I got nothing left!”
“Why don't you travel with me? I lost my family too, but I never give up.” Flashy smiled as he looked at Zacky. “You shouldn’t give up too, your family believes in you to succeed!”
“B-But I don’t want to leave my hometown!” Zacky ears dropped as he shook his head.
“Hey, don’t worry, I come by Manehattan every 3 months or so.” Flashy put his hoof on Zacky’s shoulder in reassurance.
“Really? But what about school? How do we find school?! And also how do we use the restroom?! And how-!?” Zacky started rapid firing questions at Flashy.
“Whoa! Too many questions!” Flashy waved his hooves with his eyes scrunched. “We travel through the forest, and find food from the trees and...” Flashy stopped for second then cut to the end. “Actually that’d be confusing to explain!”
Zacky blinked, and decided to just ask one last question. “...When do we leave then?”
“Well, right now!” Flashy started pushing Zacky towards the entrance of the wilderness. “And don’t worry! I also can take down some bad ponies!”
“Ah! Are you sure? Griffins can also attack us out here!” Zacky eyes widened as he slowly began to trot after being pushed.
“Eh, we hide from them crazy birds!” Flashy stood proud then began to fly close to the ground. “What’s your name anyways?”
“Zacky, what about yours?”
“We have similar names... I'm Flashy!”
“We'll, what do you know? We do have similar names!” Zacky smiled at Flashy.
The two colts then began trotting out of Manehattan and entering the wilderness. Their first city to stop before they reach Ponyville was Baltimare. And it was a long walk…
Meanwhile, many miles away, a young unicorn colt in the wilderness was eating a couple of apples, tasty, tasty apples…
“These apples are delicious! Oh boy, can’t wait to see what's for dinner!” The colt began trotting back to his little hideout, planning to what to catch for dinner.

Genuis's note: This is the Introduction to the story, as you get to know Zacky and Flashys Personaltys. Blashys Pesonalty is coming in the second chapter. A small cameo of 3 other colts is coming in the other chapter too as well.
