Hey there, my name is unimportant, what is important is that this is the story of how I went from an average human on earth to Equestria's first red lantern. I have done so much in my time in Equestria but before I can tell you any of it, for it to make any sense at all I have to start at the beginning.

It all started one summer day, I was attending a con dressed as a red lantern from dc comics. I had a red power ring fit snuggly on my right ring finger, a red lantern spandex suit with the red lantern corps symbol in the middle of the chest and plastic 'armored' shoulders, chest, elbows, and knees. A black tactical belt, combat boots, and a red domino mask, the only thing I was missing was a power battery. Normally people's favorite is the more known lantern corps; like the green lanterns or the Sinestro Corps. But for me, personally, I prefer the red lanterns, they are so cool. So there I was in a hot convention center in California in the middle of a summer afternoon. So I was walking through the convention looking at vendor stalls because I had a couple hundred dollars burning a hole in my pocket when I came upon a certain stall where the vendor's merchant really caught my eye. He was selling various items, among these items were several power rings from other corps and several power batteries. seeing a red lantern battery among them, I turned and walked closer, I noticed that the power battery was well made, the actual lantern was made of some form of red glass and the handle was a padded metal. looking closer I saw that there was there was no price tag. I turned to the merchant.

"Hey, how much for the red power battery?" He turned to me, saw my costume and gave a whistle of appreciation, and turned away from me to halfway face the table with the power batteries. He seemed to think for a moment before turning back to me with a friendly smile.

"For someone with such a nice costume, let's say... $120, that work for you Mr. red lantern?" A hundred-twenty dollars would take up a good chunk of my money but I thought it was well worth it so I pulled my wallet out of a pouch on my belt and pulled out a hundred and four fives. Handing him the money I was practically bouncing with glee when the vendor took my money, grabbed the red battery and held it out to me, only for him to pull it back as I reached for it. " Remember, don't abuse this power... or do... either way, have fun." With that, he handed me the battery, and as I wrapped my hands around the metal handle of the battery, I started to get light-headed, next thing I knew, the world went black and I passed out.

It was a while before I woke up, the only way I could tell was the early morning light breaking through the trees above me.'Wait, trees, since when are there ever trees inside a convention center?' Standing up and looking around me, the first thing I noticed was that I was apparently in the middle of a forest if the density was any indication. The second thing I noticed was that I was glowing red. Looking down I noticed that even though my suit had looked realistic before, it was nothing compared to how it looked now. There was even a red aura emanating from the suit, which was no longer spandex and plastic, instead, it was some sort of energy replacing the spandex and a light metal taking the place of the plastic. Even the ring looked even more realistic, speaking of the ring I noticed that it was also emitting a ruby light from some form of red gem in the shape of the red lantern corps insignia. Feeling a weight at my waist I looked down and saw my power battery strapped to my belt the glass seeming to move like liquid and emit a burning glow. I noticed the scenery of the woods around me was very nice. As I was standing there I heard a snap of a branch and somehow, on instinct I sent a bolt of red energy just above the head of a snow white bunny, who stood stock still catching its breath for a minute before it shook its paw at me and hopped away quickly. Confused by both what my ring did and the rabbit's seemingly intelligent actions. I then tried to repeat the action and managed to blast a thick branch off a tree roughly eighteen feet from me off of where it connected to the tree. I laughed in giddy shock, I then spent several hours experimenting with my new powers, creating everything from blasts of energy to various tools and weapons, all of which were made of solid red light. Realizing that who or whatever sent me here also gave me the powers and abilities of a real red lantern. I laughed like an idiot before looking at the sky

Seeing the sun high in the sky and not wanting to get ambushed in an unknown forest by any dangerous animals, I proceeded to start walking in an attempt to find civilization. After a few minutes of walking, I heard a trio of screams, without a thought I ran towards the source of the screams; I also heard growling, barks, and snarls as I approached. Running faster than I had ever before in my life until that point, I headed towards the sounds. After a while, I broke through a bush and stood just outside a clearing. Inside the clearing, I saw something that both befuddled and enraged me. A pack of nine massive wooden wolf things, the smallest of which was chest height on me, and as I stood at six feet and eight inches, their size was nothing to scoff at. they were encircling a trio of ponies, who were the other party in the clearing and probably still kids. At the sight, I felt like my blood was literally boiling, and the crimson light coming from the ring on my hand was covered in red light, whipping and moving in a fire-like dance of pure fury, the boiling blood sensation never leaving. Suddenly I stepped into the clearing, wreathed in a violent blood-red corona. My voice took on a deep, gravely, snarling quality, quickly terrifying the wolves and ponies both.

"With blood and rage of crimson red, ripped from a corpse so freshly dead, let cruel and evil hearts be filled with dread, for empowered with my righteous hate, I will burn you all. It is your fate! My rage coalesced into the form of a sword held in my ring hand as the feeling of my blood boiling got worse. Lunging for the closest wolf, I plunged the blade of burning red light into its chest, the wolf immediately erupting into flames. The wolf let out a final pain-filled, mournful howl before becoming nothing but a pile ash. This achieved two things, the first was that all eyes, were staring at me, the stares couldn't be more different, while the ponies stared at me with awe and admiration, the wolves glared at me with pure, unadulterated fury and hate. I quickly turned to the ponies.

" Get behind me and stay behind me, if you do that, I give you my word, as long as I still breathe, these beasts will not touch you." giving them a small smirk and receiving three hopeful, honest smiles in return. I was stopped from saying anything else by a weight of at least two hundred pounds slamming into me and swiping its claws through my chest, or at least trying to. Looking down the wolf and I both saw the same thing but it gave us each a different reaction. Noticing that in addition to failing to draw blood or do any damage, it was blocked by the light surrounding me, which had condensed into an energy shield surrounding me from head to toe, this information filled me with a sense of power and put a confident smirk on my face and made the wolf give a whimper of fear. I regarded my wolf in front of me before speaking. "My turn bitch." As I said that, I ripped my blade through the torso of the lumber lupine.

The second wolf of the pack to fall made quite the impressive bonfire. I faced the rest of the pack and growled while making the classic 'come and get some' gesture. Out of the corner of my eye, I noticed one of the wolves who had hung on the sidelines trying to creep around and behind me towards the fillies I was fighting to protect. I pivoted on my feet and sent a beam of burning light in the form of a javelin rushing from my ring right into the chest of the wolf and out its back. As the projectile traveled through the wooden wolf, it burned the beast alive like its two pack mates before it. Thinking for a moment I made a ring of blazing ruby light surrounding me and the wolves. The impromptu arena achieved two things, the first was that the wolves could no longer attempt to sneak towards the ponies. The second was it forced the wolves to fight me, which made them more dangerous because as the old saying goes 'a cornered animal is a dangerous animal'.

I stood there confidently when I was suddenly rushed by two wolves, thinking fast I rolled under the first one as he leaped towards where my throat had been. As he flew over my head, I thrust my sword straight up and impaled the wolf as he roasted alive. I quickly transitioned into a horizontal slash when the second one lunged where I now stood. Once again leaving nothing but two piles of ash. Before I could turn, something slammed into me and sent me into a tree HARD Which caused the ponies behind me to gasp in fear and concern.

Remembering what I was fighting for, I struggled to my hands and knees, I sucked in some air which was immediately expelled in a deep cough, which splattered the ground with blood. I clenched my eyes shut when the smell of burning grass reached my nose accompanied by the sound of snapping and sizzling reaching my ears. Opening my eyes I saw the blood I just coughed up burning a hole in the ground under me. Remembering that the blood of red lanterns while not hurting them, was like acid with napalm mixed in and really fucked up anyone or anything else it touched. Reinvigorated, I stood up and grabbed my sword which had landed next to me, and realizing it was the biggest of the wolves, which was most likely the alpha, that hit me, but before I could return the favor, he walked away and was blocked by three slightly smaller wolves.

If my rage was burning before, it was practically a volcano now. fed up I dispelled my sword before creating a minigun and filling the trio of wolves with burning bullets creating a trio of wolf torches. Turning quickly, I saw the alpha had finally decided to join the fight and avenge his pack, as he rushed me, I had finally had enough and rushed him too. Just before we collided I shoulder checked him, knocking him down, I quickly grabbed and wrenched open his jaws before snarling. "Fuck you right up the ass, eat this, bitch." With that, I practically vomited a wave of my blood down his throat, causing him to not burn, but smoke and melt, and turn into a pile of wood pulp and bloody vomitus. Dispelling the wall, before walking shakily towards the little ponies I had fought so hard to protect. Once I made my over there, I collapsed to one knee. Looking at them I saw them in more detail, one was orange, with a purple mane and tail, strangely, she had wings, another one was pure white, with a pink and purple mane and tail, she also had a horn. the last one was a light tan, with a red mane and tail, and a bow in her mane, but had neither wings or a horn. "Are you girls okay? Did those wolves hurt you at all?" They seemed shocked at my concern for them.

" We're fine Mistah, but wha' about ya. Ah saw how hard ya slammed into that tree, then you coughed up blood." The one with the bow said in a western sounding accent.

"I am fine, a little bruised but I will recover, where do you live and what were you doing this deep in such a dangerous forest? Surely your families are worried about your safety." The little fillies looked downtrodden at the mention of how worried their families inevitably were. Before perking back up and answering my questions.

"we live in ponyville, a town just outside the Everfree, we were walking home after trying to get our cutiemarks in forest ruins exploration by excavating the old castle of the royal sisters." Said the white one. I figured that 'Everfree' was the name of this forest, and taking the name 'old castle of the royal sisters' to mean this land of ponies was a monarchy, but I was confused by the term cutiemark.

"what is a cutiemark?" I asked them. You'd swear I'd asked what the sky was by the way the looked at me. their shocked faces were kinda funny actually.

"How do you not know what a cutiemark is?!!!" Shouted the orange one. I just chuckled before replying.

"I am an alien if you couldn't guess, I mean have you seen anyone like me before?" I asked with a chuckle as I noticed her sheepish expression once I made my point.

"No, I guess it makes sense for you to not know what a cutiemark is then." I just cocked my head as if to say ' oh really'.

"Come on, let's all go back to ponyville and get you back to your family, maybe after that, you three can show me around town, you know, give the alien a tour." They light up like Christmas lights at that before shouting.

"Cutiemark crusader alien tour guides YAY!" Laughing and shaking my head at their child-like antics, we all started walking to the town of ponyville as it was called. As we walked we first introduced ourselves, before just shooting the wind about random topics. upon reaching the town, we entered from a path leading to the forest, the locals were uneasy about me but seeing the so-called 'cutiemark crusaders' chatting with me without a care in the world calmed them a bit. we were walking down one of the main roads when suddenly a voice called out. "Applebloom, where have you been and what is that with you?" Gulping, Applebloom said aloud what we were all probably thinking.

" Uh oh."
