Anon-A-Miss: The Tale of the Girls with the Broken Smiles
Prologue: Teleported to the EQG Universe
We see Sue Snell cautiously approaching Carrie White's house with Carrie's childhood friend, Butch Anderson. Butch held up a fist, causing Sue to stop in her tracks.
"What is it?" she asked him.
"Judging by the damage in the house, the blade wounds in that bitch Carrie killed her mother, and the knife on the ground by the wall, I'd say when Carrie tried seeking comfort, Mrs. White tried to kill her daughter," Butch replied.
"What does that mean?" Sue asked in fear.
"The bitch tried to kill her daughter," Butch replied. "Carrie acted in defense."
Sue shuttered in fear. Butch then motioned for her to keep following him. They got on separate sides of the door and Butch slowly opened the door.
"I'll go talk to her," Sue said.
Butch's crocodile tail appeared and stopped her.
"She'll probably want to talk with someone she's more familiar with," Butch told her.
"She's familiar with me," Sue argued.
"Yeah, but you haven't known her since first grade," Butch argued back.
"Alright, I'll give you that," Sue replied in defeat.
Butch looked inside then back at Sue.
"Let me know if the cops arrive," he told her. "Cause believe me when I say they will."
"I don't have to believe you, I know they will," Sue replied.
Butch nodded and continued towards Carrie. She was on her knees, holding her dead mother in her arms. Crying.
Butch slowly walked towards her so as to not startle her. He then knelt down and put his arm around her shoulder.
"It wasn't your fault Carrie," Butch told her.
"Yes it was," Carrie replied. "Of all the people I killed tonight, I killed her. She was my mother, and I killed her."
"Can you deny that she didn't deserve it in the least?" Butch asked.
"What are you talking about?" Carrie asked venomously. "How could you of all people say that about her?!"
"Remember when I told you she's not going to Heaven?" Butch asked in reply.
"And why did you think that?" Carrie demanded.
"'Thou shall not kill'," Butch recited the Commandment. "If your mother really was a religious woman, she would've realized thousands of years ago that killing is wrong. The Commandment isn't 'Thou shall not kill unless it is in thy Lord your God's name' or 'Thou shall not kill unless you are in war'. It's 'Thou shall not kill', period, exclamation mark. God doesn't accept zealots in his kingdom. The moment your mother started killing people was the moment God turned his back on her. As we speak, she's burning in Hell, where she belongs."
"How do you know that?!" Carrie demanded.
Butch sighed in defeat. He had never told anyone his secret, and he certainly didn't trust Margaret White enough to tell her. But Carrie had been his best friend since first grade, and he trusted her very well.
"Because I've walked with God before," Butch replied.
Carrie stood in silence. What her friend just said took her by surprise.
"That's not possible," Carrie said.
"In the years I've been gone, before I came into contact with the mutagen, I had a near death experience," Butch explained.
"What happened?" Carrie asked.
"There was train that derailed," Butch explained. "There was a little girl still trapped inside, so I had Alex stay behind to help with crowd control while I went to get her. I covered her with something when I realized there was no way out. The train exploded, but I came out, burnt and injured, but because I kept the kid covered, little damage was done to her. After she ran to her parents, I collapsed from my injuries."
Flashback
Butch and Alex rested under a tree. After a rest, they got into their car and drove down the road. Some RVs passed them, and a little girl inside one of them waved at him. Butch waved back at her.
A few minutes later, an explosion happened in the distance behind the car. Butch tried to ignore it, but as he looked, he remembered that it came from the direction the RV went in. Especially the one with the little girl. He slammed on the brakes and turned around, heading in the direction of the explosion.
Meanwhile, firefighters had rescued the other people. The mother of the little girl ran up to one as Butch drove up.
"Help, please!" she begged. "Our little girl is still in there!"
"I'm sorry, but there's nothing we can do," the firefighter replied.
Butch grabbed a nearby rock big enough for him to smash the door down, but also small enough for him to not expose his enhanced strength. He put the rock between his arm, motioned for Alex to stay put, and ran over to the train. Seeing this, another firefighter tried to stop him.
"No!" he shouted. "It's too dangerous!"
"I'm not leaving that kid in there!" Butch shouted back.
He broke past the firefighter and arrived at the door. He raised the rock above his head and with three powerful strikes, knocked down the door. He tossed the rock aside, covered his mouth and nose, and ran inside the train wreck. He searched for the girl until he found her. He saw two nearby fireproof blankets and wrapped her in them. When he saw there was no way out, he grabbed a nearby door and covered her with it, using a little bit of his strength to keep her covered. The train wreck finally exploded.
As the parents cried over what they believed to be their dead daughter and their friends hung their heads in sadness, the firefighters struggled to keep Alex back. Just then, Butch emerged from the wreckage, injured, and burned a little, holding the girl in his arms. His injuries made woozy as he slowly faltered over to the parents. Alex rushed over to his owner to support him.
Butch set the girl down, and unwrapped her before collapsing from his injuries. The girl woke up, unhurt.
"Patty!" the mother said.
"Mommy!" the little girl, Patty, replied.
Butch finally succumbed to his injuries and fell down. He was barely breathing, and wouldn't open his eyes.
Back to reality.
Butch finished up his story as he heard Sue knocking on the window. He then got the idea as he heard sirens approaching the house.
"We need to leave," Butch said.
"I can't leave her," Carrie argued.
"Well, I can't leave you," Butch said.
Suddenly, the house started coming down, signifying Carrie was collapsing it. As soon as debris began to fall on top of her, Butch suddenly threw himself over her, shielding her from the debris. In a flash of blinding light, the two suddenly suddenly disappeared.
