A Sour Meeting

Both Rarity and Twilight were sitting around the table in Twilight's castle waiting for a summit between Twilight and Queen Novo the second meeting in total between them as the first one didn't go so well due to Twilight trying to steal the pearl of transformation which had happened months ago. Both of them were in there as Rarity was trying to calm Twilight for the summit.

Twilight was extremely nervous as she knew that the summit was going to be very awkward. She was glad about Celestia meeting with Queen Novo after her and her friends had saved Equestria from the Storm King as the meeting seemed to please Queen Novo after Twilight's mistake.

Twilight had been preparing for this summit for weeks now as it had been planned between Queen Novo and Celestia's advisors months after the Storm King's attempted takeover. Twilight eyed the tea set on the table that Spike had set out with Fizzlepop Berrytwist's help for both Twilight and Queen Novo.

Twilight had several goals she had to accomplish in this summit. She had to apologize for her trying to steal the Pearl and she had to start a good relationship between the two of them. Soon a guard walked over to Twilight to lead her to Queen Novo.

Twilight followed him out to the entrance, Twilight started to get very nervous about the meeting she was afraid that she would mess up and add further to their strained relationship.

Twilight started to become very scared about Queen Novo's reaction to seeing her again. She wondered if Queen Novo would just leave and go see Celestia instead or go back home since she probably couldn't stand Twilight after what Twilight had tried to do.

As Twilight walked down the hallway to the front door her nervousness grew and her fears of the meeting failing increased. She was scared of saying something wrong. She didn't know if she was supposed to say something to her after the traditional bow or just get down to business. Soon she reached the door and opened it with her magic.

The Royal guard stood at attention for her as they were their to provide security for the meeting. Twilight felt a little bit of sweat pour down her face a bit as she had no idea how she should exactly apologize. She had been practicing several ways for weeks for the meeting and yet she didn't really have a plan on what to say, she was going to have to wing it.

Soon Queen Novo appeared and walked up to Twilight. Twilight greeted her with a bow and led her inside the castle. They both silently walked to the dining room. Twilight was already knowing that this wasn't going to go well due to Queen Novo staying completely quiet.

The atmosphere between them felt bitter and sour which wasn't a good thing. She felt as if Queen Novo wished that she wasn't there right now but that wouldn't make sense since Queen Novo agreed to the meeting between them. When they got to the room they both sat down and Twilight spoke.

"Welcome to Ponyville your majesty. Me along with Princess Celestia and my friends welcome you here to this meeting of ours. I'm glad that you are here so that we can establish a proper relationship between us. I'm sorry for what I did in your kingdom. I had no right to try and steal the Pearl. I know now that if I had been patient you would have said that you would help us in our fight against the storm King but I messed that up by stealing the Pearl. It would be good if we established a better relationship between the two of us as I don't want to have any conflict between eachother. I don't want hatred to exist between us so it would be good for me to be forgiven. Thank you for letting me speak." Twilight said as she finished.

After Twilight was done speaking Twilight watched Queen Novo's face as Queen Novo looked at her. She was getting very scared. She feared that Queen Novo would just walk right out of the meeting without saying anything. She also feared that Queen Novo would criticize her and tell her that she would never talk to her again and then storm out. Queen Novo responded.

"Do you think you deserve forgiveness?" Queen Novo said. Twilight shook her head as she began let tears stream down her cheeks.

"No I don't. I did something unforgivable so I would understand if you didn't want to have anything to do with me but lasting hatred against me wouldn't be good for you or me. I want a friendship between us that will last forever." Twilight explained. Twilight cried as she couldn't look at Queen Novo as Queen Novo simply stared at her with a neutral expression.

Twilight should have known that this wasnt going to go well. She was expecting the worst. She knew that she was probably going to be shunned by Queen Novo and banned from ever entering her kingdom ever again. This meeting felt like a failure of extreme magnitude and it's all her fault as she had tried to get away with thievery against Queen Novo by trying to steal the Pearl. It felt hopeless.

"Your right. You don't deserve my forgiveness and you certainly don't deserve my praise after what you did. I told you that the Pearl was going to stay there but you didn't listen as you tried to steal it. I'm sorry for what happened to your home but it didn't give you any right to manipulate your friends into distracting me so you can steal the Pearl. I know what your trying to do to suck up to me so let me give you some advice, Fool me once shame on you, fool me twice shame on me." Queen Novo said.

At that moment Queen Novo stood up and kicked her chair away from her and slapped the tea off the table stormed out. Once she got out of the room she slammed Twilight's door shut. Twilight sobbed with shame. She had been expecting that reaction ever since the meeting was set up. She knew that this meeting wasn't going to go well.

Twilight was completely humiliated because of what happened. She had feared this outcome for days. Spike and Fizzlepop Berrytwist ran up to her and comforted her by stroking her back as she was bent over.

"I'm so sorry Twilight. I was shocked to. I wasn't expecting her to be that mad at you. It doesn't make sense for her to agree to a meeting with you if she still hated you. I thought that you were very respectful and explained yourself clearly and I also thought that she would forgive you after your explanation but I guess not." Spike said as she cried.

"It devastated me! Me and her will never get along! I should have never tried to steal the Pearl, it wasn't right of me. She will hate me for forever!" Twilight cried. Spike didn't say anything else as he couldn't think of anything so he just comforted her.

"This is partly my fault to Twilight. I should have never helped the Storm King. I'm just as guilty as you are. Don't be so hard on yourself." Fizzlepop BerryTwist said

After the meeting Queen Novo went back to Celestia and told her about the meeting Celestia told Queen Novo that she hoped that she could keep a relationship going between her and Queen Novo.

Queen Novo responded by saying that she was committed to a continued relationship with Celestia and continued dialogue between their two nations. Both Celestia and Queen Novo kept meeting eachother right after that while the sour feelings remained between Queen Novo and Twilight Sparkle. They both knew that a friendship between them would never work and it was all Twilight's fault. Twilight would never forget her mistake.
