The Summons

Morning had arrived in Ponyville and like she does every morning, Fluttershy was up feeding her animals before fixing her own breakfast. Again he pulled on her tail, only harder this time but over the years Fluttershy had learned to stand up to him. She gave him the stare and again said, "Look, I'm hungry and I don't have anything special. I will get you something after I'm done eating."

Angel continued to stand there, stomping his foot on the floor and occasionally pulling on her tail hoping it would cause her to cave in. After twenty minutes he finally realized that this tactic was not working so he decided to jump up on the table and whimper. He thought that perhaps trying to draw sympathy from her would be far more effective. Much to his surprise though, she told him he would have to wait until she could go and get him something.

Just as soon as she took her last bite of oatmeal, her cutie mark began to glow and a replica flew off and headed towards Twilight's castle. She shouted, "The map!"

Without even thinking about anything else, she headed to the castle and rushed into the throne room, where she would find not just Twilight, but Starlight and Spike giving the map a curious look. She took a closer look at it and noticed that it was her and Fluttershy being called to the castle of all places. Both of them were shocked by this. Fluttershy asked, "Uh Twilight, why is the map calling us to the castle?"

Twilight replied, "I'm not sure because the map has only ever called us for friendship problems." She turned towards Starlight and Spike and asked, "Are either of you two having any problems?"

Starlight replied, "Nope, I'm good."

Spike added, "I'm good as well."

This was something that was confusing Twilight a lot. Something then crossed her mind, "Maybe something will arise here soon or a couple of our other friends will come to us with a problem." She then pointed her wing towards the exit and added, "I don't mean to be rude but could you two go out for a while so we can figure this out?"

The two nodded and headed towards the exit. Twilight and Fluttershy continued to stare at the map, watching their marks circling the palace until something that had never happened before happened. The inside of the castle showed up and their marks went to a place that neither one of them expected, Twilight's bedroom.

Fluttershy gasped, "It's calling us to your bedroom?"

This was something that shocked Twilight beyond belief but she couldn't help but wonder if the map is branching out beyond friendship problems. She had had a crush on Fluttershy from not all that long after she arrived in Ponyville so she gave her a slight smile and replied, "It looks that way."

Twilight was happy that the map had called them together for the second time but Fluttershy did not know that she had a crush on her. Twilight also felt like her bedroom was not exactly the best place to reveal her crush, especially since even just going up there may make Fluttershy feel uncomfortable.

An Awkward Moment

After a moment of sitting at the map staring at their cutie marks circling Twilight's bedroom, the two finally decided to head up there. Both mares thought that this made no sense but Twilight, despite thinking her bedroom may not be the best place to do so, thought maybe this was the map's way of telling her the time had come to reveal her crush to Fluttershy.

Once they arrived in the bedroom, Twilight plopped down on her bed while Fluttershy sat in a chair at her desk. For several minutes the two sat there in an uncomfortable silence until Twilight broke the silence, "So Fluttershy, how are your animals doing?"

Twilight knew how he could be. She commented, "I'm guessing that he won't be happy when you get home."

The situation felt so awkward for the two, so awkward that they both felt like just leaving despite the map calling them up there. Finally though, Fluttershy eyeballed Twilight's bed and asked, "Uhm Twilight, do you think I could sit with you."

Fluttershy sat down next to her and could tell that her friend was nervous but a bit happy that she was there. She asked, "I take it this situation doesn't feel so awkward now?"

They both faced forward but remained sitting close and Fluttershy kept her wing around Twilight. Twilight nervously commented, "Well that was awkward."

At first it did seem awkward to Fluttershy but during that moment something came to the surface that she didn't even know existed, a crush on Twilight. She turned towards Twilight and gave her a blush, "Kinda but it wasn't too awkward."

Twilight noticed her blush and had a feeling that maybe her crush had a crush on her as well. She simply nodded and Twilight continued, "Out of all my friends, I feel like I'm the closest with you. Yes my other friends are nice but you put others first more than the others."

Given her response, Spike knew that it was true and again he fainted. Starlight was not overly thrilled that Fluttershy would reveal such a thing around Spike. She also couldn't help but wonder how the dynamic between Twilight and Spike would be after this. She did know one thing, she had a feeling that Spike would likely look to her for somepony simply to talk to much more often.
