Tick... tick... tick...
The caged clock on the wall of the gym seemed to go on for hours, taunting 14:45. Everyone had joked about Seth DeMeats "pulling a Marty McFly" when he picked up his calculator watch from Walmart a year ago. Heck, even Coach Iron Will (and Ms Harshwihnny on one occasion) even found it amusing from time to time, despite the former pissing the latter by not being as involved in PE as the others.
"Ugh, c'me on," he said, a Northeast accent (with a hint of Russian, if you listened hard enough) marking the voice as his, "Work!"
He shook his arm and held the watch to his ear to listen for ticking. Obviously, there was none.
"Waiting for something, McFly?" the coach said, snapping the 17-year-old out of his trance.
"Woah, God!" the teenager said, quickly putting his phone in a tattered, 80s laptop bag and snapping around to see the coach, "Oh. Just you."
"Just Iron Will."
"Was... there something you wanted me to do?"
"Iron Will knows anxiety when he sees it. What's on your mind?"
"Oh, Greg's just going away for a couple of weeks, leaving at five. The house just hasn't been quiet in forever. I am getting 50 grand to try and blow."
"Pretty sweet deal."
"Yes. I just hope it's not too quiet," Seth replied as his phone started playing Chollima On The Wing
"How do you know?"
"She's the closest thing the school has to a true Qianlima," he swiped the green arrow under Sunset's picture, captioned with her name in his mess of Cyrillic, so it read Сунсет Схиммер as a result, "Hello, Chollima."
"Stop calling me that."
"A'ight. What's up?"
"I need you to root my phone."
"Bring it to the gym," he said taking a good-condition iPhone 5 out of his bag and turning it on to see if the battery still worked, "I'll loan you my shitPhone."
"How long will it take?"
"Be at my house at 4:30ish to pick it up."
"Why do you hate on iPhones so much if you own one?"
"I own one so I don't have to worry about it syncing with my actual stuff, and I hate them because they're impossible for me to code."
"Okay. See ya in a few, bye."
"You, too," he said, ending the call.
"Iron Will's gonna take a stab and say that-"
No sooner than he had put it back, Seth's phone began playing Beautiful Flowers In The Spring Garden
"Fluttershy," Seth said, answering the call without even looking at the screen (which now showed a picture of her captioned Флуттерсхы ), "Sorry."
"Hey-oh, Fluttershy."
"Hi, Seth. So, um, I was, um, thinking..."
"Yes...?"
"Would you like to have a pet while Greg is away?"
"No thanks."
"Okay. I guess that's alright."
The call disconnected due to the crappy signal his phone was getting.
"So, Iron Will, now that you mention it, has a bed at his house if you'd feel comfortable there."
"Oh, that's fine. I'll just be 'Boring Seth, trying not to electrocute himself with 120 volts', as usual. Just without a rocker upstairs."
"I understand," he said, getting up so he could call class to an end. Seth checked his watch, which now read 14:53.
"Now to start planning my fun," he said, trading the smartphone for a notebook which had stains from various drinks and where he had enjoyed the Canterlot Nightlife, "6:00 today to 2:30 Monday morning."
Friday 17 March 2017, Canterlot City High School, VP Luna's Office, 2:50p
As Luna got her office ready for the end of the day, she couldn't help but have this... feeling. She sure as hell couldn't tell Celestia, because then she'd "have a curfew". Probably sundown or something equally ridiculous. That's when the fun starts.
"No," she said, now pacing her now-shut-down office, "Tia wouldn't go and-"
"Tia wouldn't go and what?" a familiar voice came from the door. Luna snapped around, only to find her sister leaning against the doorframe, "What wouldn't I do?"
"Go multiplayer at a friend's house."
"You and your games," came the reply, Celestia shaking her head as she walked out, closing the door behind her.
Safe another day.

The songs used for the ringtones are supposed to have a reflection on the character that's calling Seth.

Friday 17 March 2017, Canterlot City High School Parking Lot
"Sunset missed the time deadline for the gym, so she'll probably be at my estate and-"
"Hey, dude!" Rainbow said, running by him and back to her motorbike.
"Uhm, hi," Seth replied, even though she was past hearing distance. He just shrugged his shoulders, adjusted the strap on the bag so it wouldn't fall off, then was found out by Gilda Griffon, who had been in the slammer several times for drag racing, let alone other things.
"You and me, pal! 5:00," she said, "Be at the freeway."
"What?"
"You heard me. I just wanna see how quick I can beat you in a street race!"
"No," he replied after a second of hesitation.
"What!?"
"You're not going to beat me because I'm not going to show up. Your 2012 Ford Fiesta packs a 6-speed auto-shift and 120 horsepower with an I4 engine, probably at 4-stroke."
"Be there," she said, "or I'll come to your house and murder you."
Seth kept a face of apathy, pissing her off, "Alright."
He waited until she was out of earshot before saying his next phrase.
"F. M. D."
I'll show up if I want to, he thought before finishing the way to his car, Fuck it. I'm not going.
He had to put up with several taunts about "being a commie" and "destroying life as we know it" and other crap like that. Until he got to the midnight-blue estate car, only to find that it had been vandalized; some idiot had painted the back glass red, then painted a large, yellow hammer-and-sickle on the back of it.
"Wow. Just wow."
Several students came up behind him, ready to pummel the crap out of him, so his retaliation was just one sentence.
"I ya gorzhus' etim der'mom. Teper' idi proch'."
One of them started to come up to him, so he pulled a dud handgun from his jacket and held it with both hands, arms firm and parallel to the ground, and a face with an expression that said, "Come any closer and I shoot."
"Son deul-eo!"
They, as if they knew Korean, threw their hands up, screamed, and took a few steps back.
"Gaja!"
They ran like hell as Sunset went to the car with her phone and USB cable.
"The commie's gonna blow your brains out!" a girl said as she passed Sunset.
"What just-"
"Don't ask."
After a few seconds of silence, the gun was returned to its place in the jacket and they carried on about the phone.
"So, you can root it for me?"
He took a look at the phone, "Sure," he said, opening the hatchback, then a laptop, "I can do it here."
The phone was plugged into the computer, where an ancient program ran code for about fifteen seconds before flashing DONE in the style of an old computer from 1985.
"Just don't use it for about thirty minutes, and you should be good to go from there," he said returning the phone and cable to the former unicorn.
All things cleared, supposedly, Seth closed the back of the station wagon, got in his car, and left as the group of students ran to Principal Celestia Solaire.
"Celestia!" they said, "Seth held us at gunpoint and said he'd kill us if we didn't do what he said!"
She knew that if the story were true, then she would've heard shots being fired, "I'm sure that it's just a misunde-"
Her thoufhts and intentions were interrupted by the sound of the soviet-era car starting from 75 feet away, then leaving the parking lot. Now she was mad , but nobody ever knew.
"Alrighty," she said, taking a deep breath, "I'll just call and ask him."
If it had been her sister, Luna Sonen, who served as the Vice-Principal of CHS, she would have directly confronted him. Instead, she was on her way to their house to get ready for her "gaming tournament". Really, she was going to a nightclub. Unbeknownst to her or Seth, they both approached the first stoplight at the same time. And both loved to drag race.
The only clue as to who was in either vehicle were the tags: Luna's had NIGHT , while Seth's read EASTBLOC , fitting more with the estate car than his personality.
Luna's passenger windo went down, while Seth's driver window went down. Both were in concealing clothing; Seth's long, Waterfox-colored hair was in his jacket, and he was wearing gaudy, blue sunglasses, effectively covering two-thirds of his face, while Luna was wearing her black jacket that had a large, cool-blue crescent moon on the back, classy night-themed sunglasses, and her hair pulled back into her jacket as well. Both jackets, if one looked hard enough, concealed a pair of wings, as well as an obvious look of determination on both faces.
"4th Avenue and Kabylake Avenue," Luna said.
"Green means go," came Seth's reply, both windows now going up.
The light turned green, and they were both off.

Twenty Minutes Later
Seth was pulling the car into his driveway, just like any other day, and everything was more-or-less normal for the given circumstances; Seth's Yugo was at the shop, his ears were ringing from the super-loud engine, Greg and his band were getting ready for a gig in Nevada, so they were going in one of his friend's van, the garage was open, equipment being loaded in the van. And an ancient pizza.
"Typical," he said, getting out of the station wagon and going in the medium-sized, split-level house, "So thirsty."
It wasn't a particularly nice house in the best part of town, but it got the job done, and hadn't been burnt down yet because of a bad computer power supply (or whatever dangerous electrical maneuver Seth would try at any given time), so that was a good thing.
Throwing his stuff down on the sofa in the living room, he went downstairs to his basement and took a Yeti cup of blood from a hidden mini-fridge, then came back upstairs and sat at the kitchen table with his fangs out, red irises, and outstretched wings. Good Lord, he needed that. Greg, after a minute, came in the kitchen to get something to drink.
"Oh my God!"
Seth looked up from his laptop, "What?"
"What've you done with Seth!?"
"Greg," Seth replied, standing up and going over to him, "I am Seth."
"What?" Greg said, disregarding everything he'd seen in the past thirty seconds, "Oh! It's for school! Good one," he said before making his offer as his band began to play , "Care to come with us? You'd really help the show."
"No. And I am a real vampire," Seth said before drinking some more, "Since August 2014."
"So... in the cup...?"
"Blood."
There was an awkward silence in the room as Greg realized how oblivious he had been to things.
"Wow. So... how do you..."
"People at the hospital would rather me go in and take a lot of blood from a bank than to get bitten themselves."
More awkward silence, but this time, Seth broke it.
"Is this supposed to be a tour gig?"
"Just in Vegas."
"I may fly in and see it."
"Also, what's with the commie stuff?"
"Bullies. Mostly idiots."
"How'd you handle it?"
"With my dud pistol."
"So, you didn't go vampire on 'em?"
"I had to give them a warning. Next time, I ain't being gentle."
"Good for you."
"Straight for the neck."
"Wow," Greg replied, getting nervous as Seth looked as he was about to lunge, "Um... are you...?"
"Yes," came the sinister reply as his pupils turned to vertical slits, "Like," he jumped on Greg, "THIS !!!!!"
The next thirty or so seconds was of the musician recovering from what may have been the world's shortest massive heart attack.
"You should've seen your face," the vampire said as the musician began to down a can of Pepsi.
"That's not funny."
"Okay, I get it. I owe you a pair of pants."
The musician responded with a pissed growl.
"Okay," he said, "What?"
"Come clean. Everything. Now."
"Lover girl is a vampire, too. The whole shebangbang."
"Yo, Greg! We gotta leave now if we're gonna make Vegas!"
"Coming!" he replied, then turned back to the vampire, "We'll figure this out when I get back."
"Yeah."
At that, Greg and his band loaded their junk and left, leaving the house to Seth.
"Alright," he said, taking $500 from the kitchen drawer, "I'm bored."
He waited a few minutes before leaving, just to make sure they were gone, then got the keys to the station wagon. One of Greg's bandmates were nice enough to get the majority of the paint off of the glass (though it now had a Soviet-Red tint).
"I guess they're nice people."

Luna's Car, the same time as the last chapter
If I get beat by that guy again, I'll kill somebody.
Luna got out of her car, carrying her jacket and sunglasses instead of wearing them inside. Due to her dragrace, and route home, she beat her sister by a good few minutes.
"I'm definitely going to kill someone," Luna said, going inside and proceeding to take several cans of beer to the living room, "Any minute."
About five minutes and eight cans later, Luna heard the unmistakable sound of a car. More specifically, her sister's 2017 Hyundai Sonata. She had tried, but she couldn't race in her sister's car (The shift, P R N D M+/-, confused her to no end), despite it being more powerful. Celestia had tried to drive Luna's, but was not only intimidated by the fact she didn't know how to drive stick, but the thing was just gross. The interior smelled of blood, beer, and ancient food, making Celestia sick when they had to use hers six months prior, due to a crackup that totaled the older sister's Volkswagen. Luna, somehow, managed to find comfort in the scent and stains. To her, they were trophies. To Celestia, it was almost deathly sickening.
"Mom's home," Luna laughed, kicking her feet on the couch as Celestia opened the door.
She had her phone on loudspeaker so she could talk to a teacher, Ms Nagatha Harshwhinny, while she brought in a load of things.
"Celestia! He pointed a gun at several students and obnoxiously left the property sporting communist attire!"
"Nagatha, I don't think-"
"He had completely painted his rear window!"
"Listen, if you'd just-"
"Someone could've gotten hurt! And you're just going to let this slide !? I can write a referral, but you have to act on it!"
"The symbolism is protected by the first amendment, all of the students who came to me, and you afterward, have verifiable jail records, such a thing for a person like Seth to do such a thing is practically unheard of, and the running off," Celestia was stumped for a second, "he probably had to go help Greg load his band's equipment, or go and get his Yugo."
"Get his Yugo ?"
"Monday, I had him take it to a mechanic after school and him come to me Tuesday about it. According to him, the report was to pick it up Friday after school. Today."
"Is there ANYTHING we can do about him, OTHER than shake a finger and say 'Be polite to others.'?"
"Sadly, if what you're saying is true, no. After the Fall Formal, I hired a lawyer to help me understand the limits of our rules and how to act when they're broken. All we can really do is be on our toes about him."
"Okay," Nagatha said, defeated, "If you went through the trouble to hire a freaking lawyer for the student handbook , then I'm willing to believe you."
"Thanks."
Celestia's call ended, then she uncharacteristically dropped her things on the kitchen counter.
"Luna, I need help."
"Okay, something's definitely wrong. What is it?"
"Luna," the two sisters were now making eye contact from two rooms, separated by an archway, "We get payed almost $2500 a month because of all of the LITERAL magic that's been happening, and Nagatha's main concern is an unlikely scenario reported by several students with criminal records."
"Tia, come tell Auntie Luna about it all," Luna said, sitting up and throwing her jacket and sunglasses into a chair as Celestia made her way to the couch.
"You heard the call," Celestia said, sitting next to Luna, who now embraced her with a wing, "There's nothing that we can do, but Nagatha wants him suspended."
"Maybe she just needs a break from school, don't we all."
Celestia looked at Luna sideways, "Give me one."
"One what?"
"A Bud Light."
"Sure? First can's the worst."
"Sure. I'll be fine. I'll just call his house tomorrow."
"And you don't want to talk about it."
"I'm not ruining your weekend," Celestia said, cracking the can open, taking a sip, then violently spitting it out, "God, Luna!"
"Yeah... are you sure about that?"
"Sure. Now, how do you do it?"
"Just force the first can down, then you get an acquired taste."
"How about you just go ahead and go," Celestia said, disgusted by the aftertaste in her mouth, "I'm just going to have an evening of HGTV."
How does Luna do it? Celestia thought.
"Okay. If you need more, it's in the basement. Just don't... overdo it."
"Agreed," Celestia replied, a hand to her head now.
Luna went down to the basement to get dressed.
"Now, what to wear..." she said, thinking about how she'd go out to her "gaming tournament".

Some Night Club in Canterlot City, 22:30
Seth got out of his Yugo and walked to the door.
"ID."
"Alright," he said, hissing at the doorman, who jumped back.
"Go in!"
In the night club, the scene was what you'd expect. Loud music, strobing lights that made it difficult to see, a bar, several tables, a DJ, the usual stuff.
Seth had cleaned up before he left so he could start the night fresh. He couldn't tell what song was playing, but it had the beat of the song, You Spin Me Right Round (Like a Record, Baby) .
He was dressed in his regular clothes, more or less the same thing he drove home in, sunglasses included.
"I drove that long," he said, "I'm getting some drinks, dancing, then probably hooking up."
As he made his way to a table, he saw a girl in the bad lighting, dancing the night away.
Eighteen, sexy, wings, she's mine.
Luna, meanwhile, was the girl dancing the night away. She was wearing a short, sleeveless, dark-pink shirt, blue jean shorts that were cut mid-thigh, her jacket tied at her waist, black strapped-heels, and her sunglasses. She felt, and frankly looked , like an eighteen-year-old girl instead of the 26-year-old woman that she was. Several people were cheering her on at the loud music.
Beat! Beat! Beat! Beat! Beat!
Damn, girl! You sexy!
Fuckin' lovin' yo' style!
She noticed a guy, had to be the same age she looked and felt, come over to her.
"Hey, hottie."
"Handsome."
Luna and Seth didn't know they were talking to each other.
"Care for a drink, Sexy?"
"Yeah, dude."
Going over to the bar, they still couldn't tell each other, despite the better lighting.
It took five glasses of wine for Luna and twelve shots of Vodka for Seth before they figured out it was each other.
"Luna!?"
"Seth!?"
"What are you doing here?" they said at the exact same time.
"Dancing, drinking, and hooking up," Seth said, "You?"
"The same thing."
"Aren't you in a relationship with my cousin?"
"As far as he's concerned, as long as I don't get pregnant."
"I know he's open to letting people do stuff like that. I should damn-well know."
"Part of it may have something to do with his girlfriend being a bloodsucking creature."
"This is considerably awkward on so many levels."
After a few moments and a few drinks, Luna broke the silence.
"I've been here for four hours and can't..." she looked back at Seth's fangs, "Maybe a vampire for my Friday night standards."
"I know where you're going with this, and I'm not..." he looked around and didn't exactly find any girl who was past a five tonight, "Second thought, I like your brain."
Considering the circumstances, on so many levels, both thought Yeah, why not .
"Oh," Luna added, "When I'm an eighteen-year-old, name's Luan."
"Got it," he said as they had another two drinks.
