Not Much To Him

Previous ChapterNext Chapter

If there was one thing Colt Crush hated about Indigo Zap, it was how she got Sugarcoat. That and how she always got on to the team for the Friendship Games, despite how Cinch would always say he would get on next year. Nope. Indigo always had to win the spot, then again, it was nice seeing their School win instead of CHS, but hey, first time for everything.

There were always secrets about himself he never told anyone, expect for Bolt and Emerald, but other than that, there wasn't much to him. He was a regular guy who found himself being good at pickup lines, and always got the girls to blush brightly, even if their boyfriend was standing right there.

He guessed that was why everyone probably hated him, but at the same time didn't really mind him. Even to Colt it was confusing just as it was to everyone else in the school, and they all knew how Colt would act when a boy would defend their girl, giving up just like that with a smug smile.

All throughout math class, he could see them sitting together, and at one point Indigo moved to hold Sugarcoat's hand, which she moved her hand away. Whispering about how they would get looks and how she should wait until class was over and done with. There was no reason why Indigo couldn't hold her hand during the class, but Colt figured Sugarcoat wasn't swallowing her pride.

Of course, she wouldn't swallow her pride twice in a day. Even for Indigo. Colt knew this for a fact, and basically everyone else that knew Sugarcoat. Probably one of the reasons Colt liked her, that and her blunt honest combined with her cute figure.

“Yo, Colt, why are you staring at her?” Shining asked with a slight teasingly tone. “She's taken bro, you know that perfectly well from that kiss scene early. Which by the way, you need to send me that, Bolt.” Shining added to Bolt Shot.

“Got it, I'll send it to ya,” Bolt grinned, taking out his phone before carefully sending the video to Shining Sword. Luckily, Shining's phone was on mute so no sound could be heard. “There ya go.”

“Mister Bolt Shot!” The teacher called and everyone turned towards him. Bolt gave a slight gulp before sitting straight up like everyone else when the teacher spoke. The teacher eyed him carefully before narrowing his eyes. “Tell me, what are you doing by distracting mister Shining Sword and Colt Crush?”

Bolt's normally yellow skin went pale in a matter of seconds. “Uh... distracting them to prevent them from learning your lesson, Mr. Sand?”

“That's correct, Bolt,” Mr. Sand's voice was rough, and his tone was very grumpy considering how he had to go through many more students in the next lesson. “You wouldn't want to keep them from learning and earning yourself a little trip of Principal Cinch and having a punishment, would you?”

At that point, everyone shuddered at the thought of Cinch's punishments. They were truly harsh but they had to put up with them every time in order to please Cinch and convince her to letting them go. Bolt was often one of the students who had to go through with them.

“N-No sir!” When Bolt spoke in that tone, it made everyone feel bad. The ones who actually knew him knew of his troubling childhood. With his father leaving, and his mother barely paying attention to him, it was easy to grab his scared side and drag it out into the real world. It was also easy to make him cry when fighting happened because it always triggered memories of his parents fighting. “I don't want to go and visit Miss Cinch.”

Even Mr. Sand could feel his guilt raising up. He was very aware of Bolt's childhood because he knew his father, and knew the reason why he felt. “Okay, Bolt, okay.” Most were surprise at his gentle tone now. “Deep breaths and calm yourself down, okay? Go take a walk if you need too, the hall monitors should know why you're up and out of class without a hall pass.”

“Y-Yes sir, thank you sir,” Bolt mumbled, slowly getting up and moving towards the door. Gazing back at his friends before leaving the classroom. Still looking very pale and scared.

“Colt, you're his best friend, right?” Mr. Sand asked and Colt nodded. Not liking where this was heading. No doubt he would be asking personal questions about Bolt. “Tell me how an out-going, trouble making, caring kid, like Bolt came from someone who was terrified of what was going in his family end up like him?”

Bingo.

There it was, the personal question Bolt made him promise not to tell anyone. Yet this was the teacher so what did it matter?

“He drowned out the noises and pain, pretended like everything was okay,” Colt sighed. “He did mainly everything for his mother, though she hardly knew he was there, and slowly found she wouldn't care what he was doing or what he had done. Needless to say, he became a trouble maker.”

And that was enough for everyone to shut up.

During lunch, Colt had to walk around the entire school looking for Bolt Shot. He hadn't been in second period like they all thought he would, and the teacher had heard about the little accident in Math so she dismissed him from her class all together, but knowing her should would gladly let him go from where they were.

But if Bolt missed third period then they would really have a problem here. Of course Bolt could've went home, home to that empty apartment he got from moving out of his mother's house at age 16 going onto 17 in about a month. And even if CPA called his place, they would be only telling Bolt himself he had left.

Which would truly just be weird.

What seemed like for hours, Colt finally found his best friend leaning on the outside wall of CPA. It was near the backfield, and mainly students were out there playing sports and talking with their friends about upcoming tests and how they would be studying for them.

But none of that interested Colt. Only Bolt did.

“Bolt, there you are! Dude, you missed Mrs. Adder's lesson on the Battle Of Hastings. You always talk about you love the battle.” Colt Crush spat out, narrowing his stunning amber eyes. “What's going on with you, today?”

“I didn't plan on missing second period, Colt. But I got a text from my Uncle saying my dad's gone, it was way too much to handle,” Bolt admitted before giving a weak smile and showing his phone to Colt. “Ya sure ya don't want the video? 'Cause I can still send it to ya.”

His mind was saying no while his heart was saying yes. His mind found it angering that Sugarcoat was kissing another girl, and not him, but his heart was saying it was damn hot and he should say yes for the video. Know of course, Colt shook his head.

“Bolt, I don't plan on seeing my girl kiss another,” Colt explained, crossing his arms. “Specially if the other girl is Indigo Zap, got it?”

“Guys, come check this out!” Emerald yelled, running up to them with his own phone out. Shining right behind him. Quickly, Emerald placed his out so they could all see it. “Lemon sent me this, it's another video of Indigo and Sugar.”

Shining laughed. “We get you're dating her, bro, but seriously take it down a notch. We don't need to know about your love life with her.”

“Screw off, Shining, or I'll start trashing talking about how you're dating little miss Frosty Orange.” Emerald spat out before playing the video.

And it was just another video of them kissing, but this time, it seemed more tense. While the others seemed to enjoy it, Colt was looking away, trying not to look at the video. Though it was kind of hard to because of the moans coming from Emerald's phone.

“Why do you even watch that here?!” Colt asked, slowly showing his anger.

Bolt rolled his eyes. “Look, Colt, we all know this is really hot. Don't say otherwise! Emerald, send us the video as always as to Colt.”

“Done and done!” Emerald grinned.

“Emerald! Bolt! Shining! I swear I'll kill you!” Colt spat out.

Breaking apart, both girls had to catch their breaths before gazing over at their friends. Bad enough they were dared into this, but Lemon had to go and video tap them doing it. Why did they agree to play truth or dare with them?

“You done video tapping us?” Indigo mumbled before Lemon smiled and began walking away. Probably to edit the video. “Taking that as a yes.”

“You two were cute,” Sour sweetly said before going serious. “But you didn't have to go and moan out loud. Could've kept it a low moan.”

Sunny Flare rolled her eyes and placed a hand on Sour's shoulder before opening her mouth to speak before she felt her phone buzz. She quickly checked it before giving a slight smile and laugh a little. “Look out, Lemon just sent me the video.”

“You have got to be kidding.” Indigo mumbled under her breath. “She only took pictures right?”

“Before yes, during this, it was indeed a video.” Sunny explained.

Sugarcoat gave a frown before she felt her cheeks glowing with a pinkish blush. The last thing she needed and that was a video. “Remind me to tell Lemon off next time we see her.”

“You know she means well,” Sour waved her hand with a smile while Sugarcoat shot her a glare.

The glare was good enough for them to start walking back into the school, where they saw Lemon chatting with someone else, both girls were thankful that their friend didn't show the video to anyone else but Sunny. Except they didn't really know Lemon had shared it with Emerald.

Until third period of course where Indigo nearly blew her head off while shouting out Lemon's name. Thankfully it was during gym, so that meant the PE teacher thought they were just running for warm up instead Indigo trying to kill Lemon. Emerald along with his friends only laughed expected for Colt.

Colt, on the other hand, snuck to stand by Sugarcoat and gave her a quick look before gazing over at Lemon and Indigo. Not sure how to start up the conversation.

“Sorry about Lemon sharing that video,” Colt eventually said.

“No, you're not. For all I know you could've gotten that video as well and liked it.” Sugarcoat responded with her usual tone and Colt frowned. Alright then, she was playing hard to get.

“I am, Sugarcoat! Really! A lovely girl like you doesn't need a video about you kissing Indigo getting out,” There it was. His flirty tone was coming and Sugarcoat forced herself not to blush. “Besides, even if I did like it, not saying I do, others would surely want to see it in real life. And that wouldn't fit well, not with a girl like you.”

Oh how Indigo would have his head for this chat but it was worth it by a long shot. Chatting with the girl herself was something he enjoyed. But he was sure if she was still single, he would be loving it even more. Because he would still have a shot with her instead of having to back off.

But oh well, things happen.

“You should really go before Indigo finds you talking with me.”

Colt rose an eyebrow, he was heading into the dragon's kept with his next words. “Oh? As if you're girlfriend could lay a finger on me, besides, I bet she's looking for someone else when you're not around.” Why did he say that? He had no idea why.

“Go and fuck yourself, Colt.” Colt wiped his head over to find Indigo standing there with a frown.

It was his turn to run and by the god above, he did.
