You're Mine
Plan Into Action
Previous ChapterNext ChapterIn all fairness, this would have to be the most stupidest thing he would have ever done. There they were, waiting for the moment when he could get her alone and give her a quick kiss on the lips. Colt wouldn't have come up with this by himself simply because he would be more focused on ways to get them apart, but Shining was more of the smart one when it came to things that could make it seem like the other was cheating on the other person. He was willing to try this out and if it ended so badly then so be it.
While waiting for the right moment to strike, Colt kept his eyes on Shining. Waiting for the moment Shining would flick his hand towards him, like he was swatting away a fly and turn to play with the girls in the water, and he would strike on his part on the plan. No doubt Sugar would go full on angry and make a comment about how he really shouldn't be doing something like this, and no doubt would Indigo try to kill Colt while he made his run away. But, hey, it was going to be worth it in the end, right? No hard feelings towards them at all.
Seeing Shining flick his hand towards him, Colt sucked in a breath before slowly walking towards the resting girl. Seeing she was reading a book would make this somewhat easier, but also could make it somewhat harder, and Colt wanted this to be over and done with the fastest they could go. He didn't feel like getting beat up by Indigo and her friends just for some little kiss that meant somewhat nothing and somewhat everything to him, no, he wasn't in that mood today. He barely had time to realize he was so close to her, and his heart speed up.
Shit, shit, shit. He should chicken out and let Indigo have her, while he went and found someone else to love. A part of him was yelling at him to do this, telling to start it up with a flirty remark and then slowly make his move to kiss her, but surely Indigo would notice.
Or someone would notice him talking with her and tell Indigo which would make her keep an eye on them.
“Reading instead of going into the water?” Colt said, making sure his tone was a bit flirty and Sugarcoat looked at him before back down at her book.
“Like I said before, I don't like swimming that much,” Sugarcoat said without taking her eyes off of the book. “Now, what do you want?”
Colt gave her a smile. “Just wanted to know if you're actually just going to sit around and read instead of heading into the water where... you know, the girls are.”
She gave him another look before rolling her eyes and went back to her book. Like she was going to pay attention to Colt, she wouldn't dream of actually giving him attention for more than a few minutes or so. Even if Colt actually did manage to get her attention for a few minutes, she would be ignoring him in more than a second.
Seeing her ignoring him, Colt made a fist with his hand. Okay, maybe it was time to move on to their plan and get this over with. Hopefully she would be too in shock to actually call to Indigo and tell her what had happened, and he prayed that would happen.
Gulping slightly, Colt moved his hand under her chin and made her look straight at him. She rose an eyebrow before trying to her move her sight back to the book before Colt made his move. She froze right up when she felt his lips on her's. When he pulled away, she tried to speak, but nothing came out.
“See you around, Sugar,” Colt smirked and started to head away from her.
It took a few moments for Shining to join him after explaining how he needed to go babysit a child for a nice couple, and asked how it went right away when he joined Colt in the car.
“Well, bro? Did you get the kiss?” Shining asked, cocking his head to the side, letting his pale white hair fall over his eyes a bit.
Colt gripped the wheel a little tighter than he already had. “I did, she went still when I did. It was good she didn't get Indigo right away, if she did, then I would've lost my life right away because of her protectiveness.”
“Oh please, I'm sure you could've out ran Indigo,” Shining rolled his eyes. “You gotta remember, bro, you're the one who's gonna end up with Sugar. Not her.”
“Shining? Shut up, would you?” Colt smiled gently, turning the corner of the street. “Give it a few more weeks or so, and they'll be done. The first love never last, and we know that.”
Shining grinned and pat his friend on the back. “That's the spirit.”
Even after getting home from the beach, Sugar was still in shock from what Colt had done. She didn't know how she was able to hide it from Indigo and the others without getting them confused about her current actions, even her parents didn't really question her.
Or she thought they weren't until her mother came into her room with cups in her hands. Giving her the cup filled with tea while the other was filled with coffee.
“How was the beach?” Minty asked, taking a sip of her drink. “Did you have fun with your friends?”
“Colt kissed me,” Sugarcoat bluntly said. Minty almost spat out her coffee at that.
Minty coughed before clearing her throat. “K-Kissed you? Out in the open? In front of your friends?” Sugarcoat gave a few moments before slowly nodding. “Right in front of your girlfriend as well?”
“Not exactly, they were with Shining and Colt came up to me,” Sugar began explaining. Placing her cup down on the dresser next to her bed. “He spoke to me before putting his hand under my chin, and then he kissed me. I do hope he never does that again, though.”
It took Minty a few minutes to be able to actually process this news before it fully hit her. Though a wave of anger flashed through, the business woman was able to hold her anger down. This could be all solved with a calm talk with reasons and what not. Nothing she wouldn't be able to handle.
“I see, did you kiss back?” Even to Minty, she couldn't believe she was asking this question.
“Like I could, I just froze up and didn't do anything.” Sugarcoat sighed. “I'm amazed my friends didn't question me as I could barely talk for awhile, finding my voice after a while of not speaking.”
It was a good thing she didn't kiss back. As it was clearly one thing she didn't want, and Minty was proud her daughter didn't think about kissing him back. This was not the way she hoped for them to come together, and maybe her thoughts on Colt were changing a little.
Clearly he didn't want her to be happy and it was starting to not sit well with the business woman, hell, it already didn't sit well with Bistro at all, and her husband's thoughts were affecting her. Just how long would it be until she had to get Colt to stop trying to get with her child?
That would something she didn't want to lay down with Colt. After all, she didn't have to lay it down with anyone. She had to deal with talking with people she had to fire, and all, but that was about it.
“Well, I'm happy you didn't kiss back,” Minty's words gave Sugarcoat something to be surprised about. “I'll see if I can chat with Midsummer about her son doing things like that shouldn't be allowed.”
“Thank you,” Sugar smiled.
Minty took a sip before remembering why she actually came in here. “Oh yes, the real reason I came in here. Your father and I have been talking about a little trip, now you can stay or come what have you, but I just wanted to let you know ahead of time.”
“What about your business? Shouldn't you be staying back?”
“Trust me, dear. There's nothing I can't do.”
“Actin' all strange?” Indigo's father commented. “You sure you got the right one?”
Indigo rolled her eyes. “Yeah, dad. I have the right one.”
The man gave his daughter a look before silently nodding to himself. This didn't seem like the right Sugarcoat he was being told about. Something must've happened to her. Placing a hand on his beard to stroke it for a moment, the man cleared his throat.
“Well, then, what had happened?” He asked his daughter.
“Nothing I can see. We were in the water while she sat on the beach reading her book, and when we come back, she frozen up. Took her a while to be able to speak.” Indigo explained.
With another nod, he went on explaining about how something could've shown up in her book that gave her the fright or unexpected events played out. In perfect honesty, he told her not to worry but Indigo didn't really think she should let this slide.
In her room, she took out her phone and texted her girlfriend a question about what had happened that made her go all shocked-like. The answer was something she didn't want to know of, and she frowned deeply.
When was Colt going to give up?
Though the plan didn't really add up to Colt. He wouldn't think of something like that, he would just try and wing it from the start. It couldn't have been Bolt or Emerald, and she was sure Shining didn't come up with this. She liked Colt's friends, yes, but it wouldn't be nice to know they thought of this little plan.
Yet... what if they did?
“Maybe I'll find out tomorrow,” Indigo mumbled to herself, placing her phone down. “This couldn't have come from Colt's mind. Even if he is a good guy, he just can't let her go.”
Tomorrow she would find out who thought of the plan and who told Colt to go along with it. Deep inside she had a feeling it was one of his friends, but she refused to listen on that part of her.
...Maybe she should though...
