Explosion rang on the battlefield where the equestrian ground force clashed with the leo of the griffin empire, large craters made by the early bombardement done by both the morning star and the adrastea at the start of the battle were used as cover by the units along the front, the equestrian army lost none of its units -even if a few were damaged by shrapnel- all thanks to the units being careful and positioning themself wide and dodging any direct hit, they were following the orders of the princesses to focus on survival and stalling the enemy while the plan took place.

Said plan was simple, first stay on the defensive and keep the enemies out of ponyville immediate surroundings while making use of the equestrian air superiority to steadily increase the enemy losses. To accomplish that goal two gundam were deployed on the ground, rarity and her shenlong on the left and applejack and sandrock on the right from ponyville point of view, they were followed by around 20 units when combined, applejack also had added to her units a squad of apple family members recently promoted from ground forces to pilots that she personally formed, they were equipped with heavily armored jegan who were modified to have the shoulder mounted cannons of 240mm , she and them were rampaging on the field. Applejack was at the front protecting the artillery jegan as she slashed leo left and right with her beam shotels who were directly connected to her backpack and had access to a large e-cap so she could use them for extended period of time but she also had her heated shotel on on the side of said backpack in case the battle was drawing out or for throwing.

Applejack side stepped a leo wielding a heat sword to the left and slashed it across the waist with her right shotel cutting it in two, a leo came to her left and opened fire with a machine gun, the bullets bounced harmlessly on her gundanium armor but she still raised her left arm to protect the camera inside the head as she shutted down her beam shotels and took her heat wheep from her right hip, she expertly catched the leo left ankle and pulled making it fall on its back, she demonstrated the strength of the sandrock by actually spinning on herself and forcing the still bounded leo to lift off the ground and turn around her until it built up speed and she released it right into another leo who was crushed by the impact,

"It only started and i already got six of those no good varmint, wonder how much rarity got? Knowing the gal she has a whole battalion on me already!" applejack was tempted to rush forward as she felt her blood boil with excitement but still took steps back and rejoined the defense line, the order were clear and her squad needed her close range protection to keep taking potshot at the enemy safely.

Rarity for her part had taken the grandeen and its crew with her, this setup allowed the equestrian to have artillery on both side of the battlefield but also made it easier for rarity to get close and personal with the enemy without fear of her squad being overrun since the grandeen had been upgraded to have multiple close range machine gun after the grandeen weakness to short range battle was pointed out by kshatriya.

Rarity jumped high, flipped mid air and landed behind a leo her beam trident halfway into its cockpit after having slashed its right shoulder, she finished slashing through it all the way to the left hip and in the flow of the movement she spinned the weapon around and stabbed the leo behind her without even Turning to face it before letting it fall and explode beside her, she dodged a rocket by dashing backward a few step before taking off toward the leo who had shot it, she dodged the two leo who jumped in her way with a quick left and right and a feint and was then in front of the artillery oriented leo, she stabbed her beam trident into it and turned to the two who tried to block her way letting loose her dragon fang and biting into the closest one, she then slammed it into the other side sending them to the ground and bathed both in flame before finally letting go of the still impaled leo by dumping it aside were it let out a pathetic hissing sound as the reactor powering the unit died , she kept her flamethrower going until the two other leo pilots were crisp for sure and stopped, she threw her head back and laughed. The other pilots of her squad and the grandeen were aware of her peculiar moment where she lost her cool and was victim of mental breakdown and uncontrollable nervous laugh, said moment were born from her profound hatred for all warmonger. War was all about taking, taking you enemies life, taking their lands, taking their freedom, she was the element of generosity and such thing were against her very nature. She was like most elements bearers affected by the recent events and coped like she could, for most she was an insane killer with a cold efficiency but those with a visual on the inside of her cockpit would see her laughing while she cried on the battlefield her eyes showing despair and remorse despite her laughter, those who knew pitied her more than feared her and the only element worst off since the start of the war were pinkie and fluttershy, there were theory that if the elements bearer could affect the world through their elements then the world could affect them through them too, and while said theory were never proved most people's agreed it was likely.

Off course while the ground forces were indeed damaging the leo forces it was nothing compared to the the air forces where the true focus of the battle was. First was that above each ground army was three zamouth nada-classe ship and five jegan equipped with force silhouette backpacks, they would keep the aries at bay from the ground units. The jegan main attack force was focused in the middle and was made up of the two Reinforce, one on the left and one on the right but still close enough for the five drake to cover them into a shield by having one above, one below, two behind and one on the front, it made a diamond shaped shield and ensured the safety of the carrieres, aboard the Reinforce on the left spike and twilight were on standby along the back up jegan units, in case a unit was heavily damaged during the battle, those jegan could be dropped and carried by the four jegan appointed to the reinforces anywhere onto the battlefield allowing the pilot to swap unit. The jagan would also deliver supplies all over the battlefield. The morning star was at the forefront right into the battle, pinkie was standing on it and showering the aries around it with bullet in short bursts, the ship was also supported by the remaining jegan, 33 jegan flying around and battling against the aries for the sky dominance and showing good result, the battle had started 15 minutes ago and already 36 aries were down and all jegan unharmed, the result of so many upgrades done in one go gave them the advantage of surprise and the first clash was disastrous for the griffin empire.

Kshatriya was among the fighter in the center but had relied on only her basic speed, wrists beam gun and gae bolga's beam Cannons, she wanted to spare her energy in case of emergencies, like some northern reinforcements or a mobile armor appearing.

Kshatriya was floating in the middle of the battle, she could pick MS flying around on her sensors and she focused on the aries who were close to shooting down jegan, the new jegan equipped with force silhouette were faster and nimbler than the aries but the sheer gap in number allowed the aries to simply hound a jegan in group and it was only thanks to pinkie and kshatriya that no jegan were lost yet, they had intercepted any finishing blow and also cutted short any chase too dangerous for the jegan. While pinkie was using short gatling burts and kept her missile in reserve she still could do what her unit was best for, providing cover fire and giving more room to her allies and hamper the enemies.

Kshatriya for her part was the biggest target here yet the aries seemed to ignore her since the start of the battle, she had asked hacks to get into their communication at first but the aries seemed to be divided among different frequencies and only communicated by group of ten or less, she couldn't listen to all communication at once and was too far of the adrastea to connect. since the start of the battle the adrastea had done nothing but a light bombardment at the start of the battle something it stopped after seeing that the morning star also had the range to assault them and pulled back out of range with a few scratches to their plating, it seemed the griffonian were opting for protecting their command landship and deal the killing blow to the equestrian only after wearing them out.

"Command, kshatriya here, the enemy aries are taking losses but i have yet to see any of the torus do rainbow has a visual?"

"Here command center, the answer is negative kshatriya, she is still in ambush but she say won't do so forever, she has been complaining about waiting since the start of the battle."

"Go figure, tell her to stay silent and wait, the first bullets of a marksman are the deadliest, she stay on standby and bear with it!" kshatriya sent her order and punctuated it by aiming her left hand to an aries chasing behind a jegan and nailing it on the cockpit through its left arm, it bursted into flame and crashed perturbing a few aries around who still refused to attack her.

"Any news for why they aren't attacking me?"

"Nothing certain but the most likely theory is that the aries have evaluated you as a mobile armor and refuse to waste effort and time on attacking what they have little chance to bring down, since they haven't retreated it also mean they believe to have something capable of dealing with you ma'am so be on the lookout."

Kshatriya took some time to think about it and nodded,"good theory, i'll be careful. Also what is your name? I didn't ask you during the assault on canterlot."

"My name is coloratura but everyone call me rara."

"I'll keep that in mind."

-kshatriya large hostile, rapid approach from above!

Kshatriya POV

I brought my wing up into an X pattern shield and activated the phase shift armor on them just in time to block the impact of a mega beam on me from above, i could feel the strain to keep the phase shift armor on my energy reserve and moved out of the way, i powered my thruster and rose to the enemy, grabbing gae bolga tighter i waited the last moment and opened my wings, thrusting my spear forward.

"What the?!" i froze as a claw grabbed my lance and pushed it aside while another grabbed my left leg, i looked at the beam cannon powering in front of me. "Shit!" i put two wings in front of me and shooted with a short burst of two mega particle cannons, the enemy released its hold on me and pulled back giving me my first good look at it,

"*tch* the Alvatore such a bothersome mobile armor, hacks scan it and send me the data!"

-unit is based on the alvator mobile armor, scan show an absence of most of its features namely its gn technologie thought a very similar source of energy is detectable, it also possess an alternative for most missing gn tech, the fang are still absent and the beam cannon was weaker than it should i also detect a relatively strong barrier akin to a gn-field around it, the field was unable to completely stop your attack but was able to weaken it considerably, by crossing data i suspect this field to be the same as the one to prevent magic or rather energy at large from condensing, but a thicker variant. It seem to only perturb our weapons instead of nullifying them.

'Bad news, our jegan weapons won't work on him then', "command center a mobile armor as appeared i will engage it alone in combat, tell the jegan around to focus on the aries and stay sharp for stray attacks, keep me informed of the battlefield situation but i may not be able to help if problem arise."

I took a better hold on my lance and rushed at the alvator who had retracted its beam cannon and who opened fire with its beam turrets while retreating in zigzag, i spinned and dodged as much as i could while tanking the rest with my wings and spear.

"Understood kshatriya, the right side of the field were first lieutenant applejack is stationned is being assaulted by the enemy torus, they appeared from the everfree and engaged the zamouths and jegans, the zamouth are reporting heavy damages and we lost three jegan, the right field propose to assist them."

"No! Send spike and its custom gafran, it can deal with aerial battle better also give dash the permission to bring down some of the torus, tell her to spare some bullets in case of emergencies." i send the orders while also raining stab on the alvator who blocked with its claws, i knew all about the alvator, among them was were its pilot was and i was trying to reach it with my spear, the pilot had seemed to realise this and was expertly keeping himself safe while pelting me with its beam turrets, it was doing almost no damage to my gundanium armor but it didn't cover everything's and while each beam were weak and not all reached a vulnerable spot quantity is a quality of its own and damage started to appear on the softest part of my frame. Beside i had no doubt the enemy had more ace up their sleeves and i wanted to deal with this one quickly, i stabbed once more but let the alvator grab my lance and opened my left hand at it, i sent a powerful crimson wave who perturbed it long enough to brute force my spear forward despite its hold, at the last second the alvator opened its top and deflected my spear aside while the Alvaaron inside fired its beam rifle at me, i placed a wing in front of me and jumped back to dodge the second claw hook.

I looked at the alvaaron sitting inside the alvator as the top reclosed on top of him hiding it again,"this pilot is strange, something like opening the top just to push me away, it's an 'ugly' move its not standart or technical, purely practical. Hacks try to access this units comset, i want to hear its pilot."

-understood, connecting, engaging firewall...connection established.

Kshatriya listened closely as a voice transmitted into her head."it connected to my comeset? Interesting."

'this voice, i would recognize it anywhere...'

"Ali Al Saachez!" i screamed on the band and pounced at the alvator in an a fit of anger, the alvator grabbed my lance with both claw and we entered into a deadlock.

"Ho! Been a while since we called me that! So your like me too?"

"Eh?" i stopped pushing and the alvator took this chance to throw me down all the way to the ground where i almost crash landed, hacks worked the thruster and stabilized us on the ground as i took a defensive stance.

"The hell are you talking about?" my green eye scanned the floating alvator for any suspect moves, in gundam 00, Ali Al Saachez was a monster, cut and dry. Cruel, maniac and sly and he had the piloting skill to take on those who would seek revenge. I couldn't afford any moment of inattention.

"Am i perhaps the first one you meet? Interesting, you aren't the only one to have been sent here y'know? Thought you are one i didn't know off. So tell me when were you reborn on this little playground of ours eh?"

"You, you are the Ali Al Saachez who faced the gundams aren't you?"

"You know those youngster? It's even more interesting!" its beam turrets opened fire, i strafed right to dodge them still wary of my surrounding in case he had renfort on ambush."let's do a trade girl, you ask me a question and i answer, but then i get a question and you answer too? Seems fair to me!"

I mentally narrowed my eyes wich made my green mono eye dim."fine, what are you in this world, what is your story." i pointed my left wrist at him and fired a salvo of beams aimed to the turrets, i nailed two before he closed the acces and rushed me with its claws raised high, he slammed both of them on me but i blocked with gae bolga as my feet dug into the ground, we were once again into a standstill.
Inside is cockpit Ali Al saachez grinned as he pushed down on the commands.
"Ah, good question, with a complicated answer, the closest you could call it is reincarnation i suppose. I didn't remember who i was from birth but after reaching 14 it came back to me, a dream followed by a sudden burst of knowledge. It took years for me to get rid of this "new" worthless me and be ME again!" he raised a claw and slammed it back on my lance, he started repeating the motion and swapping claw each time.

I mentally gritted my teeth and took a deep breath in then let it out, it showed by my air vent expelling hot air from my back and torso, i redirected one of the blow by making it slide on my lance destabilising the alvator and stabbed, he launched upward but my blow still connected with one of the landing gear and crushed and i fired both beam cannons at point blank, the beam attack was weakened but still pushed him away and damaged its underside.

"Tch not bad, now my turn to ask a question, what army were you part of, you knew me so you must come from my timeline right? Where do you come from?"

'?! So he know pilots from others gundam serie? Does he know its just a fiction? No he clearly treated the gundam pilot from his timeline as true peoples not character, but he does seem to know about people who come from different gundam series!' kshatriya took some time to think as Ali Al Saachez seemed content to just wait out her answer,'i can't play fair with this asshole, i shouldn't reveal too much or it'll bit me in the ass later!'

"Sorry but i was a civilian when i heard of you, no military formation here. I was just someone who was lucky enough to get its dream unit made for her. Later i was lost into space while in some sort of stasis and woke up on this planet moon. " No lie here, just a lot of omission.

"Pff ahahahah, seriously?! You lost yourself into space?! It's ridiculous, still this unit is nice. Large array of beam weaponry and your spear and armor are made of very tough material i also spotted things that remind me of fangs under your wings. For a civilian to get such a thing....you must have had very special circumstance to get this thing right? And to think you didn't even have to die to come here, it kind of piss me off!"

"*humpf* it's my turn to ask a question wait for yours, what are the old names of those like us you know of?"kshatriya eye shined brighter reminding ali al saachez of a grin, 'lets see how you react to the one question answering many trick!'

Saachez snorted,"you girl got smart i see, but smartass get killed on the battlefield!"

I tensed and all my sensors went into overdrive, i strafed left dodging a rocket coming from behind who obliterated the ground were i was, i followed with a jump letting the salvo of bullets from my left pass under me at my precedent spot, i blocked the left claw hook of the alvator with my lance by stabbing through it and the left one with my left hand by grabbing the sharp tip before it could pierce me.

"I'll crush you to pieces and i'll take care of those gundam afterward, at least now i know where they came from! To see more of those monsters, it really piss me off!" ali al saachez screamed spitfully.

He pressed its right claw more trying to force through my grip on it, i looked around seeing the unit who had attacked me, there was a group of fully equipped kämpfer and there was even a whopping ten of them, all armed with two Jagdgewehr 192mm Shotgun, one in hand the other stored on the lower back, two 360mm Giant Bazooka stored on boths scapula, two Sturm Faust who were one use hand held rocket and were pretty much self propelled grenade and were stored at the hips, and stored on the back near the spine was a rolled chain mine, basically a number of disc-shaped mines connected to each other by flexible cable and who could stick to either wall or ground but could also be whipped toward an MS to make them explode directly on him though there was risk for the user since they were close of the explosion. They also had blue shield reminding of the sinanju if only smaller and simpler on the left arm from which the handle of a heat sword could be seen.

'*tch* kampfer?! Those are good MS's, and ten of them no less!'

I powered my crimson wave and pumped enough energy to at least destroy the entire left claw of the alvator, i despised ali al saachez but i needed him to answer my questions so i couldn't kill him yet.

'this is going to be a tough battle, but i'll see it through, because if this piece of shit is here maybe some of my heros may have come too, and i'll be damned if i don't meet them after having to deal with this grade A asshole!'

The alvator claw bulged and started boiling and bubbling, saaches just had the time to say "what the hell?!" before the whole arm and even a large part of the main body started to heat red hot and bend out of shape.

Saachez took off from the mobile armor with its alvaaron and even kshatriya had to quickly move away shocked that the alvator was affected so strongly by the radiant wave.

The alvator bulged and exploded into a massive explosion that draw the attention of most MS around.

rara was shocked but unlike most didn't lose focus and transmitted to the princess and all unit the info,"here command center, the enemy mobile armor was destroyed! i repeat enemy mobile armor destroyed!"

this sent a massive boost to the equestrian army morale who redoubled effort into taking down the aries and leo.

princess luna's voice was heard over the com,"huzza! the enemy ace was brought low in record speed! victory is nigh!"

celestia smiled but hardened her feature,"calm down sister, all units stay on alert, the enemy pilot still escaped into a sub-unit and he is still accompanied with the griphonian shock troops and still no news of miliardo and whatever renforts he might bring."

all units refocused on their own fight, the battle of ponyville was far from over.

Author's Note

i replaced " crimson wave " by " radiant wave " since its the actual name of the tech. also since the next chapter is going to be decisive, because that's the one i keep hesitating on where i should lead the story toward.

basically i hesitating between more gundam or more mlp, i mainly explored the more gundam path but i can't help but feel it make the story even more fast paced,i already found i moved the plot too fast and should have made more character development and more descriptions etc.

so yeah i'm not taking the story out of hiatus yet for that reason. still writing and thinking about it when i have free time and have ideas for it.

(i also have story i have yet to publish i'm working on and i tend to write only when i got the urge to, so it does slow me down a bit as well as my work. so yeah sorry this story is going to be a slow update one i'm afraid.)
