Adventures of a Yellow Alicorn Book One: Crystal Fateby YellowHornBronyChaptersMusic and Crystals {Edited}Crystal Warriors [Edited]In the Mind of an Alicorn Princess (Edited)Canterlot & CrystalsFinal BattleMusic and Crystals {Edited}It was an early Friday afternoon, my band and I were performing for the Ponyville fair in thirty minutes. I knew every song we were performing by heart. We start by doing a cover of flank-182's "All the Small Things", play Foster the Ponies's "Don't Stop (Color on the Walls)" and end our show with My Magical Romance's "Teenagers." "Okay, this is our first live show, Does everybody remember every single beat and note?" I asked my bandmates and best friends Drum Sticks and Four Strings, "We can't fail at this. The hottest chicks in school will be in that crowd. I can't look like a failure in front of them. Especially after last week." Last week I participated in a race against two pegasus ponies from Twilight's School of Friendship, and crashed. I had cloud in my mane for 3 days after that. "That was legendary," Sticks joked, "I can't believe you crashed right before the end of the race. It was hilarious." Sticks was always like this. He was a funny guy, but he could be a major jerk, he was usually loud and heavy, like the drums. He always flaunted his stylish black mane and brown coat. He was the first in our class to get a cutie mark. He was a popular kid, which is why people always wondered why he hung out with me. "Dude not cool," Strings glared at him, then turned his attention to me, "Anyways, we have nothing to worry about, we've been practicing for weeks. You could play each song with one eye closed." And then there's Strings. Strings was usually the cool and quiet guy, unless you got on his bad side, then he would get aggressive. Most girls liked that about him, that and his blue mane a messy blonde hair. Too bad for those girls, he was gay. He didn't come out until about six months ago, and that was only to Sticks and I. Not even his parents know. He was right though. I was overreacting. It was one of my many flaws, such as my inability to fly very well, hence last weeks class. Though, that isn't what started most rumors. What started most rumors was the fact that I was an Alicorn. As long as I can remember, which isn't that long, I've been judged by ponies at every turn. I've been called names as basic as "freak," and as rude as "Weak Alicorn Pansy." Though, It didn't bother me. The only thing I cared about was music. Well, that and my friends. "You three are up," A lavender Alicorn known as Princess Twilight said, popping out from behind the curtain, "Just remember, do your best. You three are in my top twenty students, I know you can do this." "Sorry, princess, but please stop with the cheesy break a leg stuff, we need to get on stage," I replied, with grin on my face. "Oh, sorry," She smiled softly, letting us through and on stage, "And good luck!" We stepped up on stage, plugged our instruments in, or in Sticks' case, set his set up, something he can do in three seconds, and began with song one. The song had a catchy rhythm and was easy to play. This was the first song we had learned, so every beat and note was stuck in our head. From start to finish it was a pretty easy song. We knew what we were doing. As the song finished, we calmed down, as our heads had been bobbing. "That was just a warm-up, every creature," I roared with a big grin on my face, "Up next, Foster the Ponies "Don't Stop (Color on the Walls!)" We started with a calm riff and whistling until the first lyric. This song was probably the most fun to play, it felt energetic, but was extremely calm. Some ponies began singing along. I started flapping my wings and took flight. I used my magic to hold the mic as I was in midair and used my hooves to play my guitar. As the lyrics faded I slowly landed back down. I don't know what causes me to take flight mid-song, but it's fun. "Okay, no more fooling around," I smirked, "Now we play for real." We began playing the song. It had a simple riff easy, but fun to play. It was the first song I had listened to during my emo phase. I knew the lyrics by heart. I knew how I was going to end this song, with a display of magic and a move I had learned from Rainbow Dash, the Sonic Rainboom. I disconnected my cord but used magic to wirelessly connect it to the amp. I flew up and continued playing I got to about 6 stories high before I used my horn to write my band's name, DSY, and then flew down at top speed a loud explosion had filled the Ponyville skies. Thank god I left the rest of the lyrics up to Strings, or we would be screwed. As we finished the song, I noticed something while in the air. Some sort of crystal was moving toward all of Ponyville, and fast. We finished the song and I landed on stage. I packed up my gear and headed backstage, where I hoped to find Princess Twilight. Nopony was there except my schoolmates. I looked around for Princess Twilight or at least Sunset, but to avail. I eventually gave up and headed to the fair with my instrument in the case and strapped across my back. I met my Grandfather, who had been watching me play the entire time. "You did amazing out there," He said, "I didn't think that was even possible, other than that Rainbow Dash teacher of yours." "You mean the Rainboom?" I asked, "It was awesome, but there is something else I need to talk about." "What is it?" He asked, worriedly. "That!" I jumped, pointing out a growing Crystal on the floor. "What in the living Tartarus is that!" He shrieked jumping away from it. "I saw it in the Outskirts while I was on stage," I said, "I went to look for the Princess, but I couldn't find her." "Yellow Horn!" Twilight clapped, appearing out of nowhere "You did great." "You can tell me how great I did in a minute," I replied, "But right now, there is a crystalline organism growing closer toward the crowd of ponies." "What do you mean?" She asked. "Look to your right," I said. Her jaw dropped I was hoping she would know what to do, but I guess not. "Yellow, connect our magic frequencies," She said, "We need to stay in contact." "What is it?" I asked, "How do we handle the situation?" "You're meeting Sticks next to the school, right?" She asked. "Yeah," I said, "We're discussing band related things, why? Do you want me to head in the castle." "Yes, I want you to meet him at the front of the school in five minutes," She ordered, "And hurry." "Got it," I said, "He should be there in five." "Um, princess?" My grandfather asked, "Help!" We turned our heads to the right to find that my grandfather was being encased in crystal. We tried to pull him out, but nothing worked. "I'm sorry Yellow, but you need to go," Twilight said, "I'll try to help your grandfather, but run!" "I can't leave him!" I said, starting to tear up. "Go! Now!" She barked, "There should be a crystal sword on the table in my castle, grab it and it's sheath. Then I want you to head to Canterlot." "Yes ma'am," I cried, starting to run, I turned my head back to see her turning into a crystal as well, "Princess!" "Go!" Was the last word she got out of her throat before the crystal fully encased her. I did as I was told. about three minutes later I arrived at the castle. "Yellow, what's going on?" Sticks questioned, "Ponyville is being covered in crystal!" "I don't know, but it's not safe here," I told them, "Twilight told me to grab a sword on her table and head to Canterlot. I want you guys to head the armory and get your own weapons. I'll meet you at the train station in 3 minutes. But remember to be safe. Whatever is doing this is going down." Author's Note Here's the playlist with the songs on it: https://open.spotify.com/user/sinness12/playlist/37VoiiLzaYfGZ1lJJdiAQm So tell me what you think? I'm open to criticism. Crystal Warriors [Edited]"Yellow!" my band mate Sticks called out. They had made it to the train station, just as planned. "Sticks!" I cried out, "I got us tickets. Did you guys get your weapons?" "Of course!" He smirked, "I even grabbed some armor and gear. Here, this was something I found. It's a helmet an armor with your name engraved on it." "That's odd," I said, "Why would my name be on it unless..." "Unless what?" Strings asked. "That's my great-grandfather's armor!" I was shocked, "His name was Yellow like mine, but he didn't actually have a horn. He was a pegasus by the Name of Yellow Heat. I can't believe you found this!" "That's not all, but Strings found my old Assassin's Creed costume and it still fits!" Sticks said, with happiness in his voice. He was such a dork when he wasn't out being popular. "And I found my archery outfit with his costume in the lost and found," Strings said, a small blush on his face, "Now suit up, we might need this." "So what weapons did you guys choose?" I asked. "I found two crystal daggers," Sticks replied, "They were glowing brightly." "And I found a Crystal Bow," Strings said, pulling out a bow. "IIt was glowing when I found it. t uses magic arrows, judging by the old design. It actually dates back 300 years." "Hey, are you gonna board the train, or what?" A stallion wearing a striped cap and overalls asked, very impatiently. "Oh, sorry!" I laughed. We boarded the train and sat down as soon as we got on. THe train ride was uneventful, all we did was talk and put our armor on. When we arrived at Canterlot, we were greeted by Princess Celestia. "It is so nice to see you three, how was the fair?" She asked, with a happy glowing smile on her face. "It was a fun time until-" I was cut off by Celestia putting her hoof to my mouth. "We can talk about that more when we get to the castle," She said, her voice quieting and deepening "But there is one thing I'd like to ask." "What is it Princess?" I asked, puzzled. "Where did you find that armor?" She questioned, "I mean, I know it's your great-grandfather's, but how did you find it? I asked Twilight to hide it deep within her castle. A place where no pony goes." "I found it in her armory," Sticks replied, "Why is it so important?" "The armor was worn by Yellow Heat. This warrior had been one of my top generals for a long time," She told us, "But the armor has a spell on it. When united with the crystal sword, a warrior will appear. This warrior will don the armor, and become one of Equestria's greatest heroes." "You mean this sword?" I asked, pulling out the sword. Celestia went wide-eyed and teleported us. Where we had gone was a room filled with ancient texts. "This here is more restricted than the restricted section of the library," Celestia explained, "In here we have some of the most important texts and scrolls in Equestria." "And?" I asked, kind of rudely. "And you're great-grandfather's very own private study," She replied,, clearly annoyed "I didn't know why he had so many spell books until now. He knew you were going to be born. And now, you three will be known as crystal warriors." "Could you go into more detail about what Crystal Warriors are?" I asked curiously. "Crystal Warriors are a group of three ponies," She began, "Each of them have their own classes. The Knight holds the crystal sword and wears the crystal armor. He is the leader of the group and the strongest. His sword, the crystal sword has a spell on it that makes untouchable by those who are evil. It causes great pain to evil beings. Next is the assassin, who holds the crystal daggers, like you have sheathed, Drum Sticks. You're a warrior who sticks to the shadows, and is best for taking out targets quickly. He is very cunning and sly, like a fox. His blades are said to have penetrated to heavens, allowing the birth of the first alicorn. And finally, the archer. The crystal bow you hold fires magic arrows, and has been rumored to have the ability to pierce fifteen enemies at once with a single shot. He is always the farthest way from the fight, but is the most useful. Without the archer, you're team would have no protection. Three warriors, that was the rule. But one day, a pony, a mage attempted to join. When he was turned down, he made his own crystal weapon and returned. He was turned down again. The mage turned evil. He tried to poison the land with crystal, as you see now. He was sealed away by the three warriors. These warriors were your great-grandparents and your great-grandfather's best friend. Now this evil mage has returned, and it is your job to defeat him. You're weapons will keep you safe from crystallization. Now go, young ponies, and save Equestria. I believe in you." "Celestia!" An old and grey wizard cried out, bursting through the door, "What in you father's name are you doing!" "Starswirl, I didn't know you were here," Celestia said, putting on a fake smile, "What brings you back to Canterlot?" "I've been on the trail of the Crystal Weapons," He told her, "And it seems I may have found them. And I'm taking them." "What do you mean?" Celestia asked. "You know what I mean," Starswirl exploded, "Those weapons should never have been made. I made a mistake that day." "You made the weapons?" I asked. "No, I only placed magical power inside of it. The person who made them is you ancestor. The sword you hold was left in your family, while the bow and daggers went to theirs," Starswirl explained, "I find it odd how the weapons ended up back in the possession of the three families." "Wait. are you saying me and Sticks are related!?" "Very distantly," Starswirl told us, "The daggers would be in your possession if you didn't hold the sword. Your friend is from the youngest side of the Sticks family." "Really? How?" Sticks was shocked. "Other than you're parents and Yellow's great-grandma's side, you are the only one left." He explained. "That's dark. Very dark," I said, "So his family is dying out?" "Yes. if one of three remaining children don't have their own children someday, the family will disappear off the face of Equestria," Starswirl said, "Now back on topic, I need the weapons." "No," I said, "These weapons are the only thing that can help us defeat the growing crystal!" "You can't mean Crystal Fate can you?" All the color (If there was any to begin with) had been drained from his face. "What's "Crystal Fate?" I asked. "Crystal Fate is the one thing that can end all of Equestria?" Starswirl said, "Where is Princess Twilight?" "She was frozen in, but I connected wavelengths with her, do you think I could contact her?" I asked, out of curiosity. "As long as she has her mind" He said. "Should I contact her?" I asked. "Yes, but since she is probably unconscious, you'll probably have to go into her mind and find her" Starswirl said. "Alright then," I said, "let's do this." Author's Note Entering the mindscape? Fun! Will he be able to pull her out? Find out in the next chapter! In the Mind of an Alicorn Princess (Edited)I opened my eyes to a crystal room. The room had a table and seven chairs, all made of crystal. Great, I thought, I'm in the mind of Twilight, and it looks like her castle. I walked around a bit, looking for Twilight. I eventually gave up and headed out the front door. I looked don and realized there was no floor, but I wasn't falling. I saw a door in front of me. I walked toward it, but it seemed to get farther away. I started jogging for it, but it continued to move farther away. I started going at it in a full gallop, but to no avail. I turned around, and the castle door was gone. Oh, fun I thought. "Twilight!" I called out, "If you can hear me, please tell me where you are!" As I said this, the floor began to crack and eventually sent me falling. I tried flapping my wings, but nothing worked. I closed my eyes, waiting to hit a floor. When I finally did, I felt no pain. I opened my eyes and looked around. Princess Twilight was nowhere to be found. I held a hoof to my head, to find that it was replaced with something else. I looked at the rest of my body to find it had changed. This must be the human world Sunset and Twilight told me about, I thought. I walked around the way Sunset had showed me, almost falling a few times, but I eventually got the hang of it. I noticed something glowing in my hands. It looked like a medallion. It had a glowing pink light pointing toward the building in front of me. I headed toward the building and walked up the stairs. I walked inside the building, only to find an empty hall. But the light continued flashing. I followed the light until it pointed at a pair of double doors. I walked inside the room only to find a messy bedroom or apartment of some sort. The light flashed toward a window in the room. As I walked through the room I saw a small gecko or lizard. "Twilight, are you in here?" I asked. No reply. I opened the window and found myself in a library. "Twilight!" I called, still no reply. The light pointed toward a bed of some sorts made of books. I lifted the sheet off, and found a portal. I was hesitant at first, but I decided to jump in. I landed in the castle library, this time I was a pony with no medallion. I looked around, still no Twilight. I eventually saw a glowing book, the color of Twilight's magic aura. I grabbed the book and opened it. The book sucked me in. I was in a Library, a Canterlot library. "Spike!" A lavender unicorn said, bursting through the door sending a purple and green dragon flying, "Spike! Spike?" "Twilight, thank god I found you!" I said, rushing over toward the lavender unicorn. But she didn't hear me. She walked right through me as well. I looked at the door she walked through. On the other side was Twilight. But she was crying. I walked through the door. "Who's there?" She asked. She had been crying for a while. "Twilight, it's me!" I said, "I need you're help. I've only gotten to you through our magical wavelength connection. I need to know more about the Crystal Fate. "The Crystal Fate?" She asked, "If you want to know more, you'll have to follow me." "Sure, but where?" I asked. "To the time I pulled the sword out of the crystal wall" She said. "Wait, what do you mean?" I asked. "Here, watch for yourself" She told me. The scene changed. Another Twilight appeared. We were in the Everfree forest. She approached a cave that was sealed off by beautiful crystal. "Are you sure we should be doing this?" Another voice asked. It was Sunset Shimmer. "Yes, it's for the knowledge we could gain from studying this sword!" She explained. "But it doesn't seem safe," Sunset said, unsure about the predicament. "Sunset, sweetie," Twilight replied, "I know what I'm doing. It's not like it could end the world or anything." "Okay," Sunset said, still unsure, "But I have a really bad feeling about this." "And you didn't listen" I smirked. Twilight screwing up like this was fun too see. Such a perfect pony screwing up. "Shut up and watch" Real Twilight stared. "So all we have to do is pull the sword out and go home," Twilight said, "Simple as that." "It usually isn't" Sunset said. "Oh boo" Twilight said. She walked up to the sword and attempted to pull it out. It took her a few seconds, but it eventually came out. Crystals started growing on the ground. Twilight attempted to touch the crystal. "Twilight, let's go!" Sunset said, "I don't think we should touch that!" "C'mon Sunset," Twilight said, "It can't be that dangerous." "No," Sunset said, "We are going right now. I don't think that crystal is safe, and I don't want to lose you to some dumb crystal. Now let's go!" "Fine," Twilight said, "But I'm coming back. I'd like some samples of this. It'd could be very useful to understand what makes it grow so much." "Um, Twilight..." Sunset said. Twilight looked at Sunset. Crystal had begun growing on Sunset. "Sunset!" Twilight cried, attempting to pull her out of the crystal, but to no avail. "Go, Twilight," Sunset said, "You need to go. Take the sword. Take the other two weapons and hide them. I love you, please, just be careful." "I'm so sorry, Sunset," Twilight said, crying, "Goodbye." Twilight started galloping through the forest toward Ponyville. She was crying most of the way home. She eventually arrived. "Twilight? What's wrong?" A yellow pegasus said. "Fluttershy!" Twilight exclaimed, "Nothing, I'm just heading back into Ponyville. I gotta go! Bye!" "I couldn't tell the girls, or anybody what happened," The real Twilight said, "It's my fault, and now Sunset is trapped in the crystal. It's my fault." "Hey, calm down," I said, "I'll rescue Sunset, you and everypony. Just don't worry a single bit. I want you to use my head as a way to keep some form of consciousness. I have to go now, but I'm going to take you're mind with me." I grabbed her hoof. "Hey Sticks, If you can hear me, I have her," I said to Sticks using telepathy. \ "I'm letting the princess know right now," He said, "Just hold still." A few minutes later, I awoke sitting in an upright position with no back support. "My back!" I said, falling back, "Help!" Sticks and Strings helped me back on my hooves. "Can you hear me?" A voice asked from inside my head, "It's me Twilight!" "Twilight!" I exclaimed, "It worked! I can't believe it worked! Thank the heavens! Listen, I need you to talk to me, and try to give me instructions toward the cave." Author's Note And hence, chapter three has ended! This one took me the longest so far. I haven't slept all night, and I began the moment chapter 2 ended. Canterlot & Crystals"I have decided that the weapons must remain in the possession of these warriors," Starswirl said, "For now." "Thank you, Starswirl" I smiled. He had spent the last few minutes contemplating taking us the weapons. While that happened, I thought about girls. Yes, Equestria's hero spent his time thinking about girls. It was something Punk Rockers were good at. Ocellus or Smolder? I thought, Nah, there not my type. But then there's SIlverstream. The most beautiful Hippogriff in the entire school. She's even the most popular creature in school. "Thinking about other students are we?" A voice in my head asked. "P-Princess!" I blushed. "Don't worry, I won't tell," She giggled, "But do tell what you truly think about SIlverstream. You seem to be more fond of her than any creature else." "Well, I mean she's cute" I blushed harder. "No, I mean, what you think about her." Twilight laughed, "Everybody think she's cute, it's commonly known." "Well, she's talented and funny," I daydreamed, "She cute and is an amazing flyer and swimmer. Ever since I saw her, I just felt something about her that's so... amazing." "Well, after all this, why not ask her out?" Twilight replied, "I mean, if that's how you feel about her, just go for it. I mean, if I had the courage to ask out Sunset, you could definitely ask out Silverstream." "But there's no way she could like me," I said, "I'm just... nothing compared to her. My best talent is the fact that I'm a musician. I mean, yeah, I'm talented at it. But that's about it. I'm not normal. I'm nothing liker her." "You're more like her than you think" Twilight gestured, probably smiling. "I just hope she's okay..." I drooped. "She will be" Twilight reassured me. "Yellow, we have a problem!" Sticks pointed. I looked to where his hoof was pointing. Crystal had begun growing within the room. "Everybody, out now!" I barked, "We have to head toward the Everfree forest! Celestia, I want you to take Starswirl and find Luna. Go to the Crystal Empire and stay there." "But-" I cut Celestia off. I could tell she was focused on the literature of this room. "No buts!" I said, "You need to go, now! I'll try to get as many citizens as I possibly can away from here. Now go!" Celestia nodded and ran out the door with Starswirl. I ran out and headed towards the Castle exit with Sticks and Strings. When we left we saw complete havoc and chaos outside. I saw a group of fillies running from the crystals. I grabbed them with my magic and took off, heading towards somewhere safe. On the way I picked up a few more ponies. I landed somewhere safe and set them all down. "Everypony, I need you too go through this portal," I said, opening a portal, "On the other side is a safe place, a bunker protected by a magic barrier. Inside magic cannot get in, but you should still be able to use magic. The only reason I can open the portal is because it's the only entrance to the bunker. Now everybody get in!" "My bunny!" A little filly cried, pointing her hooves toward a stuffed bunny, "I dropped it!" "I'll get it!" I said running toward the bunny. The growing crystal was headed toward the toy rabbit. I flapped my wings and flew at it as fast as I could. The crystal almost reached the stuff bunny until i grabbed it with my hooves. "Y'know, you could've used magic" Twilight said. "Quiet" I replied. I flew back at the filly and gave her the bunny. She flew ran inside the portal. "Help!" A voice called out. "Moon Dancer!" Twilight exclaimed, "Save her!" "Got it!" I said. I flew toward the sound of the voice. The crystal was growing closer and closer. I flew faster and faster. I made it to the tower and found five ponies in the room. I opened a portal. "Everypony get in right now!" I said. They listened immediately except one. "Bon Bon's missing!" The cyan pony, Lyra said. She lived in Ponyville, but she visited Canterlot quite a bit. "Get in the portal, I'll find her," I said, "Where is she?" "She got all upset at me and stormed off," Lyra said, "I haven't seen her since!" "Okay, I'll find her" I said. Lyra entered the portal and I closed it up. I flew around Canterlot looking for her blue and pink mane. I spotted her sitting on a bridge. "There she is!" Twilight said. "I see her!" I replied. I flew down. "Bon Bon!" I called out, landing next her and opening a portal, "You need to go through this portal. Lyra is in there waiting for you. She's worried about you." "I don't want to see her" Bon Bon said. She was clearly upset. Lyra you idiot, I thought, "Bon Bon, if you don't go through this portal right now, I swear that I will have your Sweet Shop shut down!" "Not the shop!" She said. She ran through the portal. "She went in there because she was worried about her store," Twilight said, "Lyra definitely found the right mare." "Twilight, I need you to create a map toward the cave while I save ponies" I told her. "A map? Okay then" She said. I flew around Canterlot looking for anypony in danger. There was nopony left. Everybody was frozen. I saw a couple in the streets that looked familiar. I landed in front of them. "M-mom," Twilight said, beginning to cry, "Dad." "I'm so sorry" I said, "I'll find a way to save these ponies from this Crystal Fate. Now, is that map done?" "Yes, it is Twilight said. As she said this a map to the cave appeared in my mind. "Thank you Twilight," I said, "It's perfect." "Yellow!" A voice called. It was Sticks. "Hey Sticks," I said, "Can you come here for a second?" "Yeah, wassup?" He asked. "You see these two ponies?" I asked. "You mean the ones frozen in crystal?" He asked, 'Who are they?" "There Twilight's parents," I said, "And we're gonna save them, along with everypony else. Final Battle"So where are we headed?" Sticks asked? "A cave with a crystal entrance," I said, "Guys, before this fight, I want you to know that whatever happens, we're the best of friends. Just know that we might die out there. And if you guys want to leave, I won't blame you, it's your choice. I'm just finishing what my ancestors started." "Hey, we're in this together," Sticks said, "No matter what." "Yeah, no matter what," Strings said, "I don't care if it's to Tartarus and back. It could be to other side of the planet and I wouldn't care. We're best friends. We're band mates. We're the Crystal Warriors, it's what we do." "Thank you, guys," I said, "And since when do you talk so much, Strings? You're usually pretty quiet." "I know," Strings replied, "I just wanted you guys to know that we are the best of friends. No matter what." "Quiet..." I said. "What is it?" Sticks asked. "We're close," I said, "Stay behind me. I lead, Sticks is behind me, and then Strings. Have you're weapons at the ready." We walked forward toward the cave. It had a beautiful crystal entrance. There was a frozen pony in front of the cave. "Sunset..." I heard Twilight say. "We'll free her, I swear" I said. "Thank you, Yellow," She said, "There is no pony better for the job." "Who goes there!" A deep rumbling voice called, "I can sense you!" "I am Yellow Horn!" I replied, "Descendant of Yellow Heat!" "Really?" The creature asked, "That'll make it all more fun to kill you." "You will not defeat me!" I replied, "I am a Crystal Warrior! I will not be defeated by the likes of you!" "You insolent fool!" The being roared, "You will die!" The crystal wall fell to pieces and a pony with flowing black mane and a dark grey coat stepped out. "You look familiar..." I said, "Very familiar." "I am a descendant of the mighty King Sombra!" He roared at me. "Oh, well then, attack!" I fearlessly yelled. We charged at him, I swung my blade at him, but he used his crystal to make a defense. Strings shot an arrow at him, but the same thing happened. The next few attacks ended pretty similarly. The fight was going badly. "Use magic," Twilight said, "Teleport to gain the upper hand. You can move around him quicker, but t'll drain your energy a lot faster." "Thanks Princess!" I said. I teleported behind the mage and slashed my sword. He saw me and narrowly dodged it, cutting his mane. As he dodged, a crystal platform shot up, hitting me in the gut and sending me flying. My horn started glowing and I teleported again, this time, I teleported above him. I swung my sword down and it phased right through him. He kicked me back, sending me into the cave wall. "Oh Celestia," Twilight said, "We're doomed." "I noticed," I replied, "Now, any other ideas?" "The sword was made by the magic of Starswirl and your ancestor, right?" Twilight said, "That means there's magic within the sword right? Why not try to use it?" "You're right," I said, "If physical things can't touch him, magic might!" I started focusing my magic through the blade. The blade itself started glowing Magical Wave Assault!" I exclaimed. swinging it down with all my might and a wave of magic flew out the blade, hitting the mage. The magical wave caused him to fly back. "You annoying crystal warriors are starting to make me really angry!" He said. he fired a beam of magic out of his horn, that I narrowly dodged. "Hey, over here!" Strings yelled, firing an arrow at him. The arrow hit him in his face, but did no physical damage, other than a scratch. "You'll have to try harder than that!" The mage said, firing magic blasts at him. "Now Sticks!" Strings yelled. As he said this, Sticks came from the sky, his daggers glowing. "One Thousand Crystal Slashes!" Sticks exclaimed. He started slashing the mage. The mage yelped in pain. This continued for a few seconds. "You'll have to... try... harder than that!" The mage said, for the second time. "Shut up!" Strings said, charging up an arrow, "Full Power Blast!" The arrow hit him, causing a him to hit a cave wall and yelp. "That hurt!" He growled, "Now it's my turn!" He fired a magic beam at Strings, hitting the bow and sending it flying. THe crystal started to grow on Strings. "Strings, no!" I cried out. But it was too late. He was frozen in crystal. I couldn't believe it. Sticks charged the mage, but the mage laughed and kicked the daggers out of his hooves. "Sticks!" I cried for my other friend, who was now freezing in crystal. "You idiotic foal," The mage said, "You're weak without the shadows." I charged up the sword. The sword started glowing, but I didn't stop there, no. I put all my energy in the sword. "What are you doing?" Twilight asked, "You're going to deplete you're magic energy! You could seriously hurt yourself!" "I'll be fine!" I said, "Right now, I need to finish this." "Are you going to attack me?" He asked. I ignored him and continued charge up the sword. C'mon, just a bit father, I said, I need to defeat him. "Now!" I said. THe sword exploding in a burst of light, an energy aura surrounding it. I felt a new burst of power. I charged him, swinging my sword at him repeatedly. I swung my sword so quickly, I couldn't see it. The mage was sweating profusely. I swung even faster and faster. The blade cut his cheek and the tip of his ear off. "Crystal Blade Final Slash!" I yelled, swinging my blade down. He exploded in a burst of light and the crystal on the ground started fading. My friends started unfreezing and I just smiled. The sword transformed back to normal. "Yellow!" The said in unison. We had a major group hug that lasted a few seconds. "Guys, let go," I said, "This armor is tight enough." "Um, hello?" A voice said. "Sunset!" Twilight said, "I'm almost there, just hold still!" "Sunset Shimmer!" I said, "Twilight's coming right now, she wants us to stay here." "Wait, what?" She asked, "What happened? How long was I out? And do you have any food?" "No Sunset, sorry," I said, "But I can answer your questions. You were frozen in crystal for about two weeks. And I just saved everyone. Including my own partners who were frozen in crystal like you." "Really?" She asked, "Wait... that sword..." "Yeah, don't think about it too much," I said, "You just got unfrozen and you're probably pretty tense. Why don't you sit down and relax while we wait for Twilight?" "Sure, that sounds beautiful" She said. And so, Equestria and the rest of the world was safe from Crystal Fate. Author's Note Almost lost everything with this chapter. I had a heart attack. Well I hoped you enjoyed this story! Keep an eye out for book two!
Music and Crystals {Edited}It was an early Friday afternoon, my band and I were performing for the Ponyville fair in thirty minutes.
