//-------------------------------------------------------// Adventures of a Yellow Alicorn Side Story: Asking Out a Certain Hippogriff -by YellowHornBrony- //-------------------------------------------------------// //-------------------------------------------------------// Asking Her //-------------------------------------------------------// Asking Her It's 3:29. One minute until class gets out. One more minute until I find her. Until I find Silverstream and borrow her from her friends for a short while. SHe's the most beautiful girl in school. Every creature wants her. But no one truly cares about her. Except me and her friends. C'mon Yellow, one month ago you were a hero, I thought, You saved Equestria from Crystal Fate. You're a hero. Ding Dong Ding Dong "Alright class, have a good day," Ms. Shy said, "Don't forget tomorrow's homework. I expect it to be completed! See you tomorrow." I get up and start to leave the class when Ms. Shy stops me by putting her hoof in front of the door. Oh buck. "Yes Ms. Shy?" I asked. "Something seems to be bothering you," SHe said, "You didn't pay attention at all in class today, what's wrong?" "Nothing Ms. Shy," I said, "Just a little distracted." "Whatever it is, I need you to pay attention tomorrow," She said, "And good luck with SIlverstream!" "Huh?" I was confused and dumbfounded. How did she know? "Teachers have their secrets!" Ms. Shy sad, "Now go, and have a good day." "Thank you!" I exclaim, walking out. Okay, now we just gotta- I was cut off by a big earth pony who stepped in my way, Big Buck. "H-hey, Big Buck," I stuttered, "What's up?" "You know what's up!" He said, "Mister Hero thinks he's all tough just because he saved the world. Well you ain't nothin' without that sword of yours! You need to step down a notch before you get beat up by one of us!" "Y-you're right," I said, "I am acting too tough." "And to show you what we mean, we'll give you a demonstration," He said, "Black Eye, Broken Nose, show him what we mean." "RIght away, Big" Black Eye said. "Hold you're horses!" A cracky female voice said, "What in the hay do you think you're doing!" "M-miss Dash!" Big said, "Nothing, what do you need?" "Well it looked like you were about to attack a hero of Equestria," She said, "Not only that, but one of my best students. Now, back away before this gets ugly." "M-miss Dash," Big said, "I'm so sorry. I'll go right away!" Him and his goonies scrambled away from the situation leaving me saved by a teacher, again. "And you," She said, pointing her hoof at me, "You need to not let these guys do this to you. You're at least a hundred times cooler than them!" "You're right, Miss Dash," I said, "I'm just too afraid to deal with them." "Yeah, yeah, whatever," She said, "Now go, you have something, or someone, important to take care of, don't you?" "Did Ms. Shy tell you?!" I asked. "Yeah," She said, "Now go get her, tiger." "Thank you, Miss Dash" I said, walking away. I headed out the front entrance. It was a beautiful day, too bad for me, I was stuck in all day. The one class that's outside, I missed for meditation and focusing my power classes. Me and my two friends, Sticks and Strings went to certain classes where we learned to control our powers. I looked around for Silverstream. I finally found her sitting under a tree with her friends. I started heading toward her until I was cut off by Sticks and Strings. "Hey Yellow," Sticks said, "Can I ask you something?" "Sure, what is it?" I asked. "Tonight's rehearsal," Strings said, "We would like to try a song from Strings' notebook." "Sure, sure," I said, "Now I gotta go. I have something important to do." "Alrighty then," Sticks said, "See you at 7:00!" "See ya!" I said. They moved out of my way, and SIlverstream was gone. NOOOOOOOOO! "Hiya!" A female voice from behind me said. It's her! Quick, reply! "H-hi Silverstream!" I said, turning around. "So..." She said, "A little birdie told me you wanted to ask me something." "Y-yeah" I said, my face probably redder than a tomato. "So what is it?" She asked. "U-um," I started to lose words, "W-would you... maybe... I dunno... like to see a live performance of just me and my band? It'll be at my house. You'd be the only one in the audience, though. It's at 7:15." "Sure, that'd be nice!" She said, "Can't wait to see it!" "Alright then," I said, "7;15, I'll be ready by then!" Oh buck, I thought, We're supposed to rehearse a new song tonight! //-------------------------------------------------------// Rocking the Way to Her Heart //-------------------------------------------------------// Rocking the Way to Her Heart It's 7:00 and the guys are just getting here. I have to tell them the change of plan, but Sticks won't like it. Strings will probably feel the same way. Oh what do I do! I thought, Silver stream will be here any minute, and I'm afraid of telling them the change of plans! "Yo Yellow!" Sticks said, "Got something on you're mind? It looks like you wanna tell someone something, but you're too afraid to do it." "To be honest," I said, "I sort of am. You see, I sort-of invited Silverstream over to watch us play, and after the show, I was going to ask her out." "Dude!" Sticks said, "Rock on! You finally worked up the courage to talk to her! I'm proud!' "I'm with him on this," Strings said, "You've been too afraid to ask a single girl out, and you finally did." "You're aren't upset that we won't practice your song?" I asked, confused, "I thought you'd be angry." "Chill, dude," Sticks said, "It's cool, we can do it another time." "Now when will she arrive?" Strings asked. Ding Dong! "Now" I said, face distraught with fear. "I'll go get her, you get you're guitar set up," Sticks said, "This is you're one chance. Don't screw it up." Sticks ran upstairs to get her while I plugged my guitar into the amp. I tuned my guitar and got into position. Sticks appeared a few minutes later with Silverstream. "She ran into a bird on the way here and fell, scraping her knee, so your dad's girlfriend took care of her knee," Sticks said, "That's why we took so long." "As long as she ain't dead, everything is okay," I said, "Now get into position, we're leading with "Sugar, We're Going Down" by Fall Out Colt." He got into position and picked up his sticks. "1... 2... 3.." He said, hitting his sticks together. The song began, and even through worriedness, I didn't screw up once. "Am I more than you bargained for yet?" I sang, "I've, been dying to tell you anything..." And so the song went off without a single stutter. I fell confidence while playing, like a new man. "I'll be your number one with a bullet!" I sang, again without stuttering. A few minutes later the song ended with a final rift. "Next song will be "Dirty Little Secret" By The All-Equestrian Rejects" I said into the mic. I started the song with the basic intro. Again, another song going well until... "I'll keep you my dirty little sEcREt" My voice cracked. Uh-oh. I started blushing horribly. "Hahaha!" Silverstream laughed, "What happened?" "Nothing!" I said, "Let's just head to the next song, "Addicted" by SImple Pone." I began the song and played beautifully. It was almost perfect. But things got worse. "Heartbrea-" Snap! Uh-Oh My cord had just snapped. Live in front of the girl I like. My face was probably redder than an Apple from AJ's farm. "It's alright, I'll play the next song with my acoustic," I said, grabbing my acoustic, "flank-182, "The Rock Show." I started playing the first few chords, "Hanging out behind the cub at the weekend." "Acting stupid and getting drunk with my best friends!" Strings sang. The song continued well. It worked amazingly. We finished the song a couple minutes later. This song went perfectly. I finally played a song without something screwing up. "That was fun, wasn't it?" I asked, getting a nod from Silverstream, "Finally we have "Mare All the Bad Colts Want" by Bowling for Soup." I played the first few chords without breaking a string. "8 o'clock, Monday Night and I'm waiting..." I sang. As I sang this, my amp caught fire. "MOTHER BUCKER!" Sticks yelled, teleporting away from the amp. Me and Strings soon followed. "No!" I cried, "My 500,000 bit custom amp! Why now, why today!" "I got it!" My dad said, coming in with a fire extinguisher. He extinguished the flames quickly. But it was too late for my amp. It was ruined. "I'm gonna head up to my room," I said, depressingly, "You guys chill down here. I'm taking my guitar with me." I headed upstairs to my room. which was on the top floor. I started playing a song from the heart. IIt's seven-fifteen and you're already here We're about to start the show for you to hear I'm ready to play all for you But I'm more afraid than a gaming noob I want to ask you out on a date But what's getting in my way is fate But that don't bother me I'm better than most musicians will ever be I'm not gonna quit now Even though I feel I'm gonna drown But that don't bother me I'm better than most musicians will ever be I'm not gonna quit now Even though I feel I could drown Your my soulmate for all of eternity I can't seem to play the words you want to hear Life is becoming a challenge I feel as though I could lose my balance I just want to be more than friends now But life hit me in the eyes ka-pow! A female voice asked, "What was that?" "N-nothing!" I said, my face turning red. She heard my song! "Yellow," She said, "Can I ask you something?" "S-sure!" I said. "Do you... like me?" She asked, her face turning red. "U-um..." I said. Be honest! My brain told me. "Y-yes," I said, "Yes I do, but I've been too afraid to tell you." "Thank you're for being honest," She said, "And I'll meet you Friday at 6:00. Don't be late! Bye!" And with that she left. "Yes!" I exclaimed. I just scored a date with Silverstream! Author's Note And so the relationship begins! I took something from chapter four of Adventures of a Yellow Alicorn Book One: Crystal Fate and turned it into a story. I hope you enjoyed this story and I'll go back to my hole. Edit: Here's the link to my Spotify Playlist (https://open.spotify.com/user/sinness12/playlist/3tsg6VU647Kiyz3gV504iS) for this story.
