Rarity and Sweetie Belle were getting ready for bed one night as it was both of their bedtimes. Rarity had Sweetie Belle overnight since her parents had taken a romantic trip to a resort. After they got ready for bed Sweetie Belle went to her room where she stayed when she was over at Rarity's and Rarity came in to tuck her in and read a story.

When Rarity came in she saw that Sweetie Belle was sitting on her bed she tucked in Sweetie Belle and when she went to grab Sweetie Belle's favorite book she saw some thing peculiar sticking out. She pulled it out and on the front it read Dr Fear Rarity couldn't remember where she got this book from as this was the first time she had seen it in Sweetie Belle's collection. She showed Sweetie Belle the cover.

"Do you remember me buying this for you?" Rarity asked. Sweetie Belle looked at it and shook her head slowly.

"No....that's the first time I've seen it....I want to see what's inside though maybe it will be funny." Sweetie Belle said. Rarity looked at the front and immediately got a creeped out feeling. The book was very unnerving to her. Rarity shook her head.

"Read it to me! You never judge a book by its cover. Just like you never judge someone else by their personality as this is Equestria." Sweetie Belle said. Rarity had a feeling that she shouldn't read it but she opened the cover and started to read it.

"Once upon a time in Equestria there was a tall man named Dr Fear. He was a tall man and had a sleek back eyes and a hat for his head." Rarity said. She stared at the creepy illustration of the character. Sweetie Belle looked at it. Something about the book didn't sit right with her. She turned the page and continued.

"He is a man who lives in Equestria and he is a magician but not a wizard. One day he became very hungry. When he searched around he couldn't find food. So when he couldn't he started to search around for his.....prey....Rarity said as she started to hesitate. This book started to grow from unnerving to scary and dark but Rarity didn't stop reading.

"Rarity I don't think I want to hear this story anymore." Sweetie Belle said Rarity turned the page and showed even creepier illustrations

"He started dine on the spirits of Equestria's population, he terrorized and fed his hunger with their fear. Once Princess Celestia stopped him however he swore to exact revenge and so Dr. Fear disappeared. So before you go to sleep at night make sure to keep one eye open or he will make you his prey." Rarity read as she saw the last picture of an illustration of someone screaming while a big tall man stood over them. Rarity shut the book and Sweetie Belle was hiding her face in her pillow while hyperventilating.

"Sweetie Belle I'm so sorry. I had no idea what the book contained....I'll never read it to you again okay?" Rarity asked. Sweetie Belle nodded and hugged Rarity tightly. Rarity hugged her back.

Rarity? Will you promise to never read that book to me again?" She asked. Rarity nodded. After Rarity tucked Sweetie Belle in bed Rarity took the book to Twilight and told her about it. Twilight studied it for a bit and gave it back to her.

"I would advise you to get rid of it. Something is definitely wrong with it but I don't know what. Burn it if you have to. Whoever made that book was probably twisted." Twilight said, Rarity nodded.

"I'll burn it tonight." Rarity said. Twilight wished her a good nights sleep and went back inside her castle. Rarity went home and burned the book up and went to sleep. Sweetie Belle got up as she was just to scared. She went to Rarity poked her awake. Rarity opened her eyes after a bit of poking and yawned.

"Sweetie Belle what's wrong?" Rarity asked. Sweetie Belle was shaking.

"I can't get to sleep something is in my room. I think it's Dr. Fear...." Sweetie Belle whined. Rarity sighed as she regretted reading that book to her little sister. She touched Sweetie Belle's face.

"Sweetie Belle Dr. Fear isn't real. It's just a book. You can sleep with me but I hope you get over this tomorrow. It's just a book Sweetie Belle." Rarity said. Sweetie Belle nodded and got in bed with Rarity. They finally went to sleep.

The next day after they got up Sweetie Belle went to go to Cheerilee's school while Rarity went over to Twilight to see how Twilight was doing while she was teaching her students at her School of Friendship

Rarity had a mostly normal day that day but when she got home stuff changed for the worse. She got a report about Sweetie Belle biting Apple Bloom's hand and violently lashing out at Cheerilee. Rarity scolded Sweetie Belle and punished her. She called Applejack and apologized for Sweetie Belle's violent act. Applejack told her not to worry and said that this didn't harm their friendship in anyway. She reported that Apple Bloom got her hand treated. Rarity had Sweetie Belle apologize to Apple Bloom. She also had Sweetie Belle apologize to Cherilee.

At home things got very weird over the next few days. Rarity started to see a shadow and things moving by themselves. She also started to see visions of her friends dying in violently gruesome ways. Once Rarity started to see appearances of Dr Fear in her photos and magazines she started to act very irrational and angry and scared.

At the same time Sweetie Belle started to become angry at Rarity and would lash out and yell scream and cry. Sweetie Belle knocked photos down and spilled hot coffee on one of Rarity's shirts. One day Sweetie Belle went back to her parents place and while she had been there she slipped cockroaches into a bowl of soup her mother was going to eat.

Rarity told Twilight what was going on about Dr Fear and Sweetie Belle. Twilight took and entire day trying to figure it out and once she did she told Rarity someone very startling.

Twilight explained to Rarity that Dr Fear had manifested inside their home and was now tormenting them. She asked Rarity about where the book came from but Rarity told her that she had no idea about that. She told Rarity to burn the book that she had read to Sweetie Belle so when Rarity came home she burned the book and hoped for it to be over.

A few hours later Twilight came over and tried to purify Rarity's home with good magic hoping it would work. Unfortunately the events only got worse. Rarity and Sweetie Belle started to notice tar like goo got into their food and got them sick. Rarity decided to throw away food and just get more but that didn't stop the food from being infected. Their water that they bathed with became dirty and muddy.

Dr Fear continued to make appearances to both of the sisters taunting them and making fun of them. Rarity updated Twilight and told Princess Celestia about the demon that was now haunting their house. Twilight tried to get rid of Dr Fear by performing defensive magic against it but began to realize that Dr Fear would never go away.

Twilight decided to move Rarity and Sweetie Belle out of Carousal Boutique and had them live in her own castle out of generosity which both of them thanked Twilight. But soon they realized that Dr Fear had started to manifest himself inside Twilight's castle and increased its attacks on Twilight, Spike, Rarity and Sweetie Belle.

Twilight couldn't take it anymore and neither could Rarity or Sweetie Belle. So she got someone that she knew could get rid of the dark spirit. She sent a letter to Celestia asking if she could contact Starswirl the Bearded. Celestia did what she was asked of and informed Starswirl in a letter about everything that was happening to Rarity Sweetie Belle Spike and Rarity.

Starswirl traveled hundreds of miles to Twilight's castle as he knew exactly what to do. He was going to confront the monster himself and banish it for good. He entered Twilight's and ordered Rarity, Twilight, Spike and Sweetie Belle to leave the castle so he could face it alone.

He went inside and as he did the demon stood over him as his claws reached down to his feet and his insane grin stretched across his face.

"Dr Fear....whoever you are....I suggest you leave Rarity and her family and friends alone. Your not supposed to be terrorizing anybody. Your from a book which you created yourself. Nobody else illustrated that book. You made it so that you could be born and haunt people. Well not anymore. Today you are going away for good." Starswirl said.

"Oh yeah!? And what are you going to do about it old man!?" Dr Fear said. Starswirl smirked and spoke.

"This!" He said. He took out his wand and pointed it at the foul creature and spoke loudly and clearly.

"Begone foul beast!" He shouted. He performed a banishing spell but Dr Fear counteracted his spell with his own dark energy and became locked in a duel. Dr Fear laughed evilly while Starswirl stayed concentrated in performing his spell. The duel went back and forth for a few minutes and then Dr Fear overpowered Starswirl and knocked him down with his magic but before he could kill Starswirl Rarity spoke.

"Hey!" Rarity yelled at Dr Fear. Dr Fear turned around and chased after Rarity's sister but Rarity spoke in a deep loud voice.

"Get away from my sister!" She screamed. She took a magical container that she had been holding and pointed it at Dr Fear and Dr Fear was sucked inside of it. Rarity quickly taped it up while Twilight and Sweetie Belle helped Starswirl up. Soon someone came rushing in.

"Does anyone need my help?" Evictus asked. Rarity groaned.

"No go away you'll just make this narration worse!" Rarity yelled. Evictus frowned and left.

Starswirl took the container and brought it to Celestia. Celestia took the container with the dark spirit inside and locked it up in Tartarus. The spirit was guarded ever single day and all day there so that it couldn't get out ever again and it never did. Rarity moved back into Carousal Boutique and Sweetie Belle went back to her parents and their lives immediately went back to normal. Sweetie Belle told her parents about what happened and they told her that they were sorry about what had happened and Rarity and Twilight told her friends what happened as well and they said that they were sorry about what happened as well.

Rarity and her friends and family were glad that it was all over with. Dr Fear never bothered anybody in Equestria ever again.
