Class can be fun, sometimes
Previous ChapterTwilight sat in class, bored out of her mind, with her head on her hand as she looked on at the board at the front of the classroom. Most of what she was reading was infomation she already knew, hence why she started her essays ealier than normal. Her eyes shifted from the board to her phone as it lit up.
Picking it up, she smiled slightly when she saw it was a message from Sunset. She opened the message and saw it was a video that she had sent. Twilight grabbed her earphones from her, well Sunset's, jacket pocket and plugged them into her phone, putting them in and clicking on the video.
The book worm had to stiffle her giggle as she watched the video but it did make her smile grow larger.
The video showed Sunset lipsyncing to the chorus of the song Never Had A Dream Come True by British band, S Club 7 while she had her goggles on her head and oil marks on her face. Twilight shook her head lightly at her girlfriends antics. She was honestly a bigger nerd than her sometimes and it baffled her that someone that hot could also be the cutest person ever.
Twilight thought for a moment before typing her responce.
"You're honestly such a dork,"
She was about to put her phone back down until she saw that Sunset was typing.
"Yeah, but I'm your dork <3"
"Unfortunatly,"
"Wow, rude. I pour my heart out to you through a dramatic lip sync and I get bullied for it,"
"You chose the cheesest song by the cheesest band of all time,"
"You're welcome,"
"Who are you talking to?" A voice next to her spoke up, Twilight turned to see a girl she didn't recognise.
"I'm sorry?" Twilight asked, a bit confused as to why this random girl thought it was any of her business who she was talking to.
The girl rubbed the back of her neck and looked down at the notebook on her desk.
"S-Sorry, I didn't mean to come across as nosey. I'm new here and making friends has never really been my strong point."
Twilight nodded slowly before putting her phone down.
"I see. I used to be the same..until recently actually. My name is Twilight Sparkle,"
"Moon Dancer. It's nice to meet you, Twilight Sparkle," Moon Dancer smiled widely, extending a hand out to Twilight. Twilight couldn't help but smile back, shaking the girls hand.
"Lovely to meet you too. And, to answer your question, I was talking to.." Twilight paused for a hot second. She didn't know this girls views on gay realtionships "..my friend,"
"Must be nice," Moon Dancer mumbled, flopping down on the desk and putting her head in her hands. Twilight looked on at the girl and frowned.
This girl reminded her a lot of herself. Isolated and alone with no easy way of making friends. She chewed on her lip for a moment before turning in her chair slightly to look fully at the other girl.
"Would you like to spend your break with me?"
Moondancer's eyes shifted to Twilight, narrowing slightly as she searched for a sign of pity. Her eyes moved back to look at the board.
"I don't need your pity, Miss Sparkle,"
"Who says it was out of pity?"
"I can see it in your eyes."
Twilight pursed her lips before shrugging.
"Okay then. Rejecting any form of friendship, even if it starts out as pity, isn't going to put you on the fast track for making friends. Trust me,"
Twilight looked out the window with a sigh. That may of come across harsher than she wanted it to but she learnt the hard way that making friends is no walk in the park, so she needed to give this girl some tough love so she could find out for herself too.
Her eyes lingered on her reflection for a moment before she noticed the reflection of Moondancer just staring at her. She held the gaze before looking at the girl over her shoulder.
"Had a change of heart?"
"Potentially,"
Twilight just smiled as she heard the bell go off.
"Let's go and get some lunch then,"
Moon Dancer struggled for a moment but managed a smile before standing up with Twilight and following her out of the lecture hall.
-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-
"So you're dating Sunset Shimmer?" Moon Dancer asked before taking another bite out of her sandwich. Twilight nodded as she continued chewing, looking out over the football field while both girls sat on the bleachers.
"Yep. I said she was just a friend ealier because I..didn't know where you stood when it came to gay rights," Twilight responded after she had swallowed her mouthful of food.
Moon Dancer shook her head and let out a sigh.
"It's okay. It does amaze me that people, in this day and age, can still be so narrow minded,"
"Right?" Twilight said with a mouthful, taking a sip of water from her bottle before turning her head towards Moon Dancer with a smile "Great minds think alike,"
Moon Dancer looked into Twilight's eyes for a moment and saw no sign of pity anywhere. She offered a smile back before looking back over the football field.
"And, it doesn't bother you that she's practically a celebrity?"
"Not even remotely. When she first came into the diner, I had no idea who she was so I can confidently say I'm not with her for her image or her money," Twilight joked which cause Moon Dancer to giggle, putting her hand over her mouth to try and stifle more giggling.
When Moon Dancer recovered, she looked over to the other side of the field and tapped Twilight on the shoulder before pointing in the direction she was looking.
"Isn't that Sunset over there?"
Twilight looked over and, indeed, there Sunset was, with her earphones in and sketching in, what seemed to be, an art book.
"Let's go an introduce you to her," Twilight said, grabbing Moon Dancer's hand and dragging her over before she could protest.
When Twilight walked up to Sunset she called her name but Sunset didn't seem to realise, still nose deep into art book.
Twilight tried again. And once more before she finally yelled.
"Sunset!"
"Gah!" Sunset cried, losing her balance on the bench she was sat on and falling backwards onto her back.
"Oh god, Sunset I'm so sorry! Are you alright?" Twilight quickly went to Sunset's side, helping her sit back up.
"Huh? Oh yeah I'm fine, Sparky," Sunset smiled in a daze before it hit her who she was talking to, jolting up and trying to hide her art book in her bag quickly "Twilight! Uh, hi, hey, whats up?"
Twilight and Moon Dancer exchanged a quizzled look before looking back at Sunset with single raised eyebrows.
"What are you hiding?" Twilight asked curiously, her arms now folded over her chest.
"Hiding? I'm not hiding anything! Maybe you're hiding something!" Sunset tried to retaliate only to sigh and cave under Twilight, and her odd new friends, glare "I was, uh, drawing you and I didn't want to show you in case you though I was being super weird.."
Sunset dug into her backpack and fished out her art book, handing it to Twilight before streching her hand out to her new friend.
"Hello, since I've managed to screw up first introductions I might as well just introduce myself. I'm Sunset Shimmer,"
Moon Dancer chuckled and shook Sunset's hand with a smile.
"Lead singer of The Rainbooms, I know who you are, Sunset Shimmer. My name is Moon Dancer,"
Sunset went red slightly, removing her hand from Moon Dancer's and scratched the back of her head.
"Heh, yeah that's me. I often forget that people actually know I'm in a band, when I'm not preforming I often forget myself too,"
While Sunset and Moon Dancer chatted away, Twilight had her back to them while she flipped through Sunset's art book. She landed on a drawing of herself in her work uniform. She didn't see Sunset drawing when she was sat at the table which meant...
..She drew this from muscle memory.
Twilight ran a finger over the drawing and couldn't stop the smile that was making its way onto her lips. She took in every detail and how amazing and realistic the drawing was.
She turned around and walked up to Sunset, completely catching the red head off guard as she captured her lips in a passionate kiss.
Moon Dancer coughed awkwardly and averted her eyes before Sunset decided to kiss back, only to pull away and smirk down at her girlfriend.
"Now, what was that for, Sparky?" Sunset asked, her hands on Twilight's hips as she looked down into her girlfriend's eyes. Twilight just slipped a hand to Sunset's cheek and smiled lovingly up at her.
"For being such a sweetheart, and, for my drawing,"
"Your drawing? What do you-" Sunset asked before it hit her what Twilight meant, chuckling and kissing her nose "No problem,"
Both girls pulled away from each other's embrace and couldn't help but snort at how Moon Dancer was awkwardly looking up at the sky, bouncing back and forth on her heels.
"You're safe now, Moon Dancer," Sunset said with a smile, sitting back down on the bench. Moon Dancer looked over her shoulder first to see if the girl was just pulling on her leg, fully turning to face the two girls when she saw it was, in fact, safe.
She glanced at her watch and her face twisted. She coughed to get both girls attention before tapping the the glass on her watch.
"I hate to break up a tender moment, but we need to get back to class, Twilight,"
Twilight raised an eyebrow before looking at her phone and jumping in the spot.
"Oh shoot! We're going to be late!"
Twilight turned to Sunset and looked at her awkwardly to which the singer just waved her hand and smiled warmly at the book worm.
"Go, don't be late on my account,"
"Thank you. See you later still?" Twilight asked, preparing herself to run to the bleachers with Moon Dancer for her backpack that she left there.
"For sure. Now go!" Sunset said with urgency, waving her hands at both girls to get them to run.
Sunset couldn't help but let out a short laugh as she watched Twilight and Moon Dancer sprint to the bleachers, quickly grab their backpacks and, almost, fall off the bleachers before they were finally out of sight. Sunset sighed and realised she should probably start heading to her leature too, reaching for her backpack only to realise something, although it was too late.
"Ah damnit. She took my art book,"
