"Our first kombatant will be Mr. Cage!" Hearing his name, the Hollywood actor walked up. "That's right! That's right! Who's it gonna be?" Pinkie Pie, hopping up and down said, "Ooh! Ooh! Is it Slasher Dasher? Slinky Rinky? Moshi the Yoshi?" "Reptile!" Shang Tsung announced. Reptile turned visible, and leaped onto the ground. "Nice stunt!" Johnny Cage complimented. "Who's your agent?" Queen Chrysalis was serving popcorn to the spectators and Shang Tsung, who announced "Begin!" "All right! It's showtime!" Johnny said as the first match has begun. Johnny hit Reptile with green goo balls. After the fight was over, Johnny looked at his defeated opponent. "He got CAGED! That's it! Ha, haa! Oh yeah! I'm SO pretty." He walked up to the other kombatans, including Chameleon, Applejack, a stuntman, Trixie, and Sonya Blade, pointing to them. "And I'm taking you down, I'm taking you down, I'm taking you out, I'm taking you out, and I'm taking you out... for dinner." "Ugh!" Sonya said in disgust. Shang was unimpressed. "Now for your second challenge Mr Cage: Baraka!" The beast jumped onto the arena floor. Johnny was stunned to see Baraka. "Mmm, okay... nice makeup, but is it REALLY necessary?" Applejack looked scared. "I don't think it's makeup..." she said to Fluttershy. Fluttershy said to Applejack, "Me, neither." Right on cue, the Outworld Wolverine popped his blades out. Rarity let out a high pitched scream. "WOAH!" Johnny Cage was surprised. "They will taste your flesh!" Baraka said. Johnny kicked Baraka in the face multiple times, and even punched him in the balls. Baraka shot some sparks at Johnny, who didn't even get a scratch. Then Johnny uppercut the Tarkatan, as he was defeated. "Man, I love those blades! My producer has got to meet you! We're doing 'Tommy Scissorfists', and-- " "Congratulations, Mr. Cage." Shang Tsung said. "Now FINISH HIM!" "Finish him? Yeah, right!" The actor said. "KILL HIM!" The sorcerer demanded. Johnny looked over at Cyrax and Sub-Zero, Scorpion and Quan Chi, and even the Mane Seven and Spike. Pinkie Pie was excited to see Johnny kill Baraka. "Woah. Woah, woah, wait a sec! I'm not gonna kill anyone!" Hearing this, Pinkie's smile turned into a frown. "Very well." Shang Tsung stood up. "The tournament will resume at dawn!" Everyone started to leave, except for Johnny who said "What, that's it? Really?" Johnny put his hands together. "Now where'd that hottie go?" Johnny turned around to find Sonya, but was cut off by Raiden and Liu Kang. "You have fought well." Raiden said honestly to the actor. "Thanks." Johnny replied. "Nice hat, by the way." Liu glared at Johnny. "You should be more respectful of Lord Raiden. He is the protector of Earthrealm, the god of thunder, the--" he said, but was cut off by Pinkie Pie who suddenly popped up right next to him. "Wait a minute! You CAN'T be the god of thunder!" Pinkie said. Raiden looked at Pinkie. "Why not?" There were three seconds of silence. "It's Thor, isn't it?" "Look, I don't know what role-playing you guys are into, but count me out." The Shaolin warrior tried to prevent Johnny from leaving. "This tournament is more than a chance for personal glory. We are fighting for the very survival of Earthrealm." Liu said. Johnny was confused. "What are you talking about?" Raiden said, "Your last opponent was Tarkatan; he was born with those blades." "Yeah. Those things are real." Johnny said. "He represents Outworld." Raiden said as two guards took him away. "Had you lost, the emperor Shao Kahn would have come one step closer into physically absorbing our world into his." "Outworld, yeah right, right..." "The Elder Gods created the Mortal Kombat tournament to give Earthrealm a chance to defend itself." "In order for Outworld to conquer a realm, you have to win 10 consecutive tournaments against that realm. This tournament happens once every 500 years. Earthrealm has lost 9 tournaments in a row. If we lose this tournament, Shao Kahn will conquer Earthrealm!" Pinkie said. Liu Kang was angry. "Thanks for spoiling the whole thing, Pinkie!" Johnny Cage gave a big "Dun Dun Dunnnn!" with Rainbow Dash. "Look, guys, I'm an ACTOR. I save the world for the cameras. If this emperor thing is really a threat, call the military. Me? I got a date with a blonde. Chao!" Giving Raiden a pat on the shoulder Johnny left the arena. "What do you see in him?" Liu wondered. Raiden looked at Johnny. He is a hero, Lui Kang, though he may not yet know it. Meanwhile, somewhere else on the island, Sonya had a walkie-talkie in her hand trying to get a signal. "triangulating your signal for evac, but... there is no island..." "I'm standing on it! Just lock on to my wrist com!" Sonya said to the man. "Understood. What's your current status?" Johnny managed to find her and walk up to her. "They have Jax. And if I don't fight in this crazy tournament, they'll kill him. I'm gonna try to talk to these ponies. Hopefully they can--" "Need help?" Johnny interrupted. "I specialize in rescuing damsels in distress." "You again." Sonya said trying to sound nice. "Listen. I got serious problems here. I'm in no mood to be hit on by some movie star." "Come on, a girl like you shouldn't be wandering around in this freak show alone." Sonya just walked away, but Johnny grabbed her by the arm. "Look, baby. I can't let you run loose without an escort." Sonya shoved his arm away, punching him in the guts, and landed an uppercut on the actor's jaw. "I don't need an 'escort'. And I'm sure as hell not your 'baby'!" Johnny put up a good fight, and finished her off with a Shadow Kick. "Ha haaa! not bad for a... girl. Look, sorry about that." He reached out a hand for her, but Sonya slapped it away. "I don't need your help." "Fine. Have it your way. I'll just leave you to your... problems." "Good idea!" Kano threw Johnny off the edge of the bridge. The actor yelled, and he disappeared like that. "Now that he softened you up, it's my turn!" "Not man enough for a fair fight?" Sonya asked. "I don't do 'fair'." Kano stated, starting to hit Sonya with his laser eye. "No need to get up, love." From below, Johnny still hangs on. "So tell me..." Kano continues, "how are things at Command?" "Bastard!" Sonya groaned. Johnny started to slowly get back up, but eventually, his hand couldn't hold on much longer and he fell off, but luckily he was caught by Rainbow Dash and Twilight Sparkle. "Gullible bitch. Just had to point you in the wrong direction. Couldn'ta done it without ya!" When he was getting tired of using his lasers at Sonya, she glared up at him and said, "S-F is on the way. You won't get far." "Oh, I got a knack for survival." Kano remarked. "You, on the other hand, are gonna die here. I mean it's not like two ponies are gonna catch that guy and bring him back up." Right on cue, Rainbow Dash and Twilight put Johnny back on the platform before flying off. "Step away from the lady!" Johnny demanded. "Fans think my moves and wire work are special effects. Truth is... I am the special effects." After another fight, Johnny finally beat Kano. "Throw that on your... barby... Shrimp." "Thanks." Sonya said. "No problem. Who is that guy anyway?" Sonya pulled her hand up, and Johnny helped her get up. "His name's Kano. he was an informant in our Black Dragon investigation. Big-time arms dealers. Turns out he was their leader, giving us the runaround. A lot of our guys got killed because of him." "So that's not a costume? You're actual military?" "Special Forces." "Get out! So you know about this 'threat to the world' stuff right? Raiden called in the cavalry." "Raiden?" Sonya said in confusion. "No idea who you're talking about." Sonya was about to walk towards the exit. "Damn." "He's the other Thor in the straw hat. He can't be far." "He'll have to wait. I appreciate your help, Cage..." "Johnny." "... but right now I've got things to take care of. My C.O. is locked up on this island somewhere. I have to find him." Sonya went to find Jax, and Johnny smiled at her. Chapter 3: ScorpionBack at the courtyard, everyone made it back in time for the next match. One of the guards stood besides Kano and Raiden noticed, sensing a vision of Kung Lao fighting Baraka. Raiden walked away while Shang continued to speak. "Kombatants! Before we begin the next match, there has been a change in the rules." One of the guards handed him a piece of paper. "The Mane 7 and Spike will be allowed to fly and use magic while outside of the tournament." Everyone except Raiden, Liu Kang, the Mane 7, and Spike complained. "Sorry, everyone." said Twilight. "The Elder Gods said so." "Our next kombatant will be..." A circle of fire appeared, and Scorpion arose from the flames. It vanished once he was at the arena. "...Scorpion! Specter of the Netherrealm! Resurrected by the sorcerer Quan Chi! Who among you is worthy of this challenge?" As Scorpion looked around at the kombatants, he couldn't find the one he was looking for. Pinkie Pie was hopping up and down like crazy. "Ooh, Ooh! I am! I am! I am! Pick me! I'll take you on! Come on!" "Where is the Lin Kuei Sub-Zero?" Scorpion asked. "He killed my family and clan. I will have his head!" "I know it is you, Kung Lao." Raiden said, looking at a guard standing next to him. "The Shaolin monks chose Liu Kang to represent your order in this tournament." "I am Liu Kang's equal!" The guard said. "That remains to be seen." "Watch and see." The guard took off his mask and attire, revealing himself to be Kung Lao. "I accept the challenge!" "Kung Lao?" Liu was surprised. "Never mind the Lin Kuei. Now you face a Shaolin." "You will regret your impulsiveness." Scorpion said before fighting Kung Lao. Scorpion threw a spear at Lao, and Scorpion pulled him over while yelling "GET OVER HERE!" after the fight was over, Scorpion looked at Lao and said, "You are not yet a warrior." "Kung Lao!" Liu Kang said. He and Raiden helped the fallen warrior. "Listen when your elders speak! You could not win this fight." Scorpion walked up to Shang. "I have defeated the challenger, Shang Tsung. I demand Sub-Zero!" Raiden had a vision Scorpion holding Sub-Zero's spine and Noob Saibot rising. Twilight looked at Scorpion and said, "You are acting like a spoiled brat!" "You will demand nothing!" Shang said. "Nightwolf!" The shaman walks up to Scorpion. "Your aggression is misplaced." he said. "What do you know of my past?" Scorpion asked. "You are not the only one whose people have been victimized. But I have found new purpose in serving the Spirits. I do not cling to the past." "You no longer seek retribution? You dishonor your kind. I will honor the memory of my fallen." Scorpion kept slicing Nightwolf with his swords, until he was defeated. "The spirits have forsaken you, Shaman." Shang said, "Well done. You are full of surprises. And speaking of surprises, your next opponent is... Pinkie Pie!" Pinkie Pie hopped up to the arena. "All right, Scorpion." she said. "Get ready to party 'till you drop!" Pinkie Pie shot explosive balloons from her party cannon. Scorpion threw the balloons back at her. The two kept playing volleyball with balloon bombs, until Pinkie was defeated. "Aw, MAN!" Pinkie sighed. "You waste my time sorcerer!" Scorpion snarled with his fist covered in flames. "Restraint, Scorpion." said Quan Chi. Scorpion placed his flamed hand down. "You will fight Sub-Zero soon enough." Shang said. He stood up from his chair, and Quan Chi followed him. While everyone else left, Scorpion's eyes lowered as he was frowning behind his mask. "Scorpion," Raiden called out. "I understand your desire for revenge. but Nightwolf is right. There are other ways in which you may find peace." "Sub-Zero deserves death." "Defeat Sub-Zero if you must, but do not kill him. I fear his death will give rise to a more treacherous foe." "That does sound weird, but I will still have my revenge!" "Tell you what: spare Sub-Zero's life and I will request that the elder gods return the Shirai Ryu to the life of mortals." Scorpion took some time to think about it. The two nodded to each other. In Shang's throne room, the doors opened up, Scorpion entered and walked up to Cyrax and Sektor. "I understand there are benefits to the Grand Masters plan..." Cyrax told Sektor, "... but his plan goes against Lin Kuei principals." "We are Lin Kuei, Cyrax." Sektor stated. "We will obey the Grand Master's comands." "It means giving up our free will... our souls. It will turn us into--" Sektor saw the fire ninja walk up. "Scorpion." "Your inferior clan is dead. Soon you will join them." "My clan may walk the Earth once more." Scorpion told the Lin Kuei warriors. Cyrax pushed him. "A challenge!" Shang announced. "Scorpion and Applejack vs Cyrax and Sektor!" "Yeehaw!" Applejack said. "Y'all ready for this?" "Your obsession with Sub-Zero ends here." Cyrax told Scorpion. Scorpion took down Cyrax with teleport while Applejack tied Sektor up with her lasso and bucked him in the face. After the fight, Scorpion declared, "I will have my revenge, but I will not kill Sub-Zero." "Will not? Or cannot?" A voice said. Scorpion turned around to see Sub-Zero. "You!" Scorpion muttered, glaring at his enemy. "The Shirai-Ryu are dead. You will suffer as they did." "To hell with your clan." Sub-Zero remarked. Scorpion shook his head at the Lin Kuei and said, "No... to Hell with YOU!" He grabbed hold of Sub-Zero, and flames surrounded them and they teleported away. The Mane 7 and Spike were surprised. The two foes reappeared in the Netherrealm. Sub-Zero pulled away from Scorpion's grasp. "Wow. The Netherrealm." Sub-Zero said. "This is where I was reborn. This is where you will pay!" The two ninjas fought to the death until Sub-Zero was defeated. Scorpion looked at his beaten opponent and said, "I have avenged my family and clan." Quan Chi appeared behind Scorpion. "This is your retribution? Scorpion. Kill him." "I..." Scorpion paused, thinking of what Raiden said earlier. "I will not. He has been beaten." "Have you forgotten?" the sorcerer asked, using his power to show Scorpion what has happened in the past. "What is this?" Scorpion asked. Pictures began to move, beginning with a fire burning a village. Voices were screaming from death greeting them. An army of ninjas were killing innocent civilians with arrows. "No..." Scorpion said, realizing what this is. Sub-Zero slowly sat up, not knowing what is happening. In Quan Chi's magic, the invaders were killing people with swords, but the one that stood out most was Sub-Zero, the only one with actual color, riding on a horse while holding a sword. "Your clan. Your family." Quan Chi changed the picture. In that, a woman sheltered herself in her home, holding her child in a strong grip, protecting it from harm, while the outside was filled with death and screams of pain. The screen door opened, and Sub-Zero entered, his sword in the scabbard, getting ready to be pulled out. The woman held onto her baby as she cried, accepting her fate. After the scream, a trail of blood splattered on the screen door, and the rose petals fell down slowly. "No!" Scorpion yelled, filled with rage. Quan Chi faded the screen as Sub-Zero lifted his arm. "That is not me!" he said. Scorpion removed his hood, showing his flaming Ghost Rider skull, but then the Netherrealm blacked out. Sub-Zero let out a big scream as he was burned. Everyone was talking, but then Scorpion reappeared. Shang Tsung anticipated what the result was, along with Raiden. Revealing what happened, Scorpion held a skull and spine. Rainbow Dash shed a tear. "Ouch." Johnny said. Scorpion dropped the skull and spine, the bones crushing as they landed on the ground, in slow motion. After the motion was in normal speed, Scorpion let out his flames with a roar, teleporting out of the room. Everyone began to leave, while Raiden stepped forward to the cracked bones. "Despite my efforts, my vision has come to pass. The ship has sailed for the Shirai-Ryu to come back to life." Cyrax stood beside the Thunder God. "An unfortunate end. He once defended Earthrealm from the Netherrealm armies of Shinnok and Quan Chi." "Scorpion will pay for this!" Cyrax stated. "Sub-Zero's fate is his own doing." "His own doing?!" "The Lin Kuei have a history of making ruinous choices. Such as the Cyber Initiative." Cyrax turned around and responded, "I am among those speaking out against the Grand Master's plan. Surgically transform the Lin Kuei into glorified robots? It kills our intuition. Our instincts." "Did you speak out against the Lin Kuei's participation in this tournament?" Raiden asked. "We were invited by Shang Tsung. He promised us free hotel reservations with free room service." Cyrax said. "He pays you to kill Earthrealm warriors." Raiden said, crossing his arms. "Betraying your own realm? I expect better. Even from an assassin." "My loyalty is to the Grand Master." Cyrax defended, walking out of the throne room. "Victory for Shang Tsung means the end of Earthrealm. And the Lin Kuei." Raiden warned. Cyrax took one glimpse at Raiden, the Mane 7, and Spike before leaving. Twilight looked at Raiden and asked, "Who's Shinnok?" While Cyrax was still walking, Baraka was watching him. Chapter 4: CyraxCyrax walked from Shang's throne room to the pit. As he kept walking he heard footsteps approaching. He turned around to see Baraka and Sheeva. "What are you doing?" he asked. "I'm not here to fight you. I'm assigned to kill Johnny Cage." "Shang Tsung no longer has need of you." Sheeva remarked. "What do you mean?" "He is terminating your agreement. And you!" Sheeva jumped so high, she went off the screen and was about to crush Cyrax, who uppercut her before she hit the ground. The process repeated until Sheeva was out cold. Cyrax looked at her and said, "I need to have a talk with your master." Baraka ran to Cyrax. "This fight is not yet over!" "You mean to finish me? You couldn't even stop the actor!" Baraka tried to ram into Cyrax, but he jumped to avoid the Tarkatan general Cyrax kept going until Baraka was down for the count. "Now this fight is over." Cyrax knew Sheeva was telling the truth. "Shang Tsung has turned on me. I need to find out why." At the courtyard, Cyrax opened the door, seing Shang Tsung, The Mane 7, and Sektor, talking and laughing. Cyrax looked at Raiden, who nodded at him. While Sektor and Shang Tsung were talking, Cyrax said to the red clad ninja, "Sektor, we need to talk. Our host tried to have me killed." "You were speaking with the other thunder god." Shang stated. "Your indiscretion has jeopardized my plan." "Cyrax is Lin Kuei." Sektor responded. "He will complete his task." "We shall see. The next match will be Cyrax... versus Johnny Cage!" After his announcement, he levitated to his chair. Rainbow Dash looked at Johnny and said, "Aw, yeah! Go get him!" "What, me? All right then." He walked to the arena. Twilight looked at Johnny and said, "Good luck, Johnny." Across from his opponent, the actor said, "Not everyone gets to rumble with a celebrity. Ready for your beat down, Sunshine? Here it comes!" Cyrax kept hitting Johnny with bombs, and finished thefight with a buzz saw. "That should shut you up." Cyrax said as he walked to Johnny and grabbed his neck, picking him up in the process. "Finish him!" Shang Tsung said in the background. The Lin Kuei assassin hesitated from the sorcerer's words, and he looked at Raiden, who shook his head. The Mane 7 and Spike were scared to see Johnny die. "I won't kill him!" He dropped Johnny back to his feet. The ponies sighed with relief. Cyrax left while Sektor watches him with a death glare. In the gardens, Sektor found Cyrax, his face was full with disappointment. "You were commanded to kill Johnny Cage." Sektor said to Cyrax. "You disobeyed." "Correction: I eliminated him from the tournament. He didn't need to die." Cyrax stated. "You have broken your oath." "I used my judgement!" "The Cyber Initiative will eliminate insubordination." "We are not machines, Sektor. I chose to serve the Lin Kuei. But I will not surrender my free will!" The two Lin Kuei fought. Cyrax trapped Sektor in a net and kept hitting him until he was defeated. Cyrax looked at Sektor and said, "Tell the Grand Master I am finished." Sektor watched in shock as he glared at Cyrax. "No one leaves the Lin Kuei..." Cyrax kicked Sektor, threw his Lin Kuei ID card on the ground, and walked away. Starlight walked up and grabbed the ID card. "Cyrax--" She tried to talk. "Leave me alone, Starlight!" Cyrax yelled. Chapter 5: Liu KangFour guards were walking towards Shang Tsung in this throne room with a mysterious person in the middle. The Mane 7 and Spike were confused, but Trixie let out an evil grin. "Kombatants!" Shang called out. "Chrissy and I present this latest creation of Shao Kahn! He is many warriors, their souls fused into one being. Behold... Ermac!" Ermac started to show off his power. Johnny and Jax were surprised, Rarity let out a high pitched scream, Trixie was amazed, and Kano chuckled. Raiden looked at Liu Kang. "Be wary, Liu Kang. He is unlike anything you have fought before." "Liu Kang!" Shang announced. "You are the sole Earthrealm warrior to progress to this final stage of the tournament!" "I am ready." Liu said. "We are many. You are but one. We will destroy you." Ermac said. Ermac lifted Liu up with souls and threw him onto the ground. Liu hit his opponent with fireballs, both high and low. Eventually, Ermac was defeated and Liu said, "Earthrealm will not fall into your master's hands." Everyone left the room, except for Kitana, who walked up to the shapeshifters and said, "He is a greater threat than anticipated. I will ensure he does not reach the final challenge." "I hope so." Shang told her to make sure of what she said. At the garden, Liu was flexing his pectorals and stretching his arms, when Raiden said, "Remember Bo' Rai Cho's teachings. For my vision to be realized, you must not let emotion overpower you. I've seen our first movie and it was a rip off of Enter the Dragon." "Your visions." Liu said. "What causes them?" "My future self sent them to me. Perhaps to ensure some outcome." "Or to prevent one." Liu said. Raiden experienced another vision, and it was him before he died. "He must win. Those are my last words before I die. I belive it is you who must win." He showed his amulet to Liu. "This amulet was forged by the Elder Gods. It cracked here in the present after my first vision. If we choose wisely, the future will be secured and the cracks healed." Raiden said, putting it back on. "I trust you will make the right decisions." "We must trust in the Elder Gods, Liu Kang." Raiden said as he teleported, leaving Liu to continue training. Just then, Kitana walked up to him and attempted to fight him, but he avoided her attacks until she threw punches at the Shaolin monk, but he caught the fists. "You're good! Show me more." "Do not underestimate me, Shaolin." Kitana threw her fans at Liu, who jumped to avoid them, and hit her with flying dragon kicks, fireballs, and attacks from the dragon stance. Liu defeated Kitana and said, "I am impressed." "Do it." Kitana said. "Do what?" "Kill me." Liu got on his knees. "Why would I do that?" "I came to kill you. I failed my father. My emperor." Liu was surprised. "Shao Kahn is your father?!" "I have disgraced him. You must kill me." "I will not. This encounter never took place. You have disgraced no one." Liu got up and walked away before looking back at Kitana. "I hope we meet again. Under different circumstances." Liu continued to walk. It was nighttime at the courtyard as Raiden, Liu Kang, and Kung Lao arrived. "Kombatants!" Shang announced. Only one Earthrealm warrior remains. The Shaolin Liu Kang. Is he ready to bear such a heavy burden? Earthrealm's fate is in his hands. You will fight alongside Twilight Sparkle!" Twilight teleported next to Liu. "We have to win this for Earthrealm." The princess of friendship told him. "Your opponent will be... Scorpion!" Scorpion emerged from fire once again. "I do not fear you, demon." Liu stated. "Fighting with Scorpion... the sorcerer Quan Chi!" The albino sorcerer walked out of a portal. Twilight looked at Quan Chi and said, "No evil sorcerer is a match for the magic of Friendship." "You have already lost." Scorpion told the two before fighting. Liu Kang kept hitting Scorpion with fireballs while Twilight and Quan Chi shot magic at each other. Eventually, Scorpion and Quan Chi were out. Liu looked at them and said, "As I said, I do not fear you. I pity you." They walked up to Raiden. The Thunder God looked at the two and said, "You have fought well. But the tournament is not yet over." "Goro." Liu said. "What's a Goro?" Johnny asked Sonya, who shrugged her shoulders. "Liu Kang..." Shang announced. "it has been years since an Earthrealm warrior has progressed this far. But the reigning champion is far beyond your ability. His new 'Magic Reflect' will obliterate you, Twilight Sparkle!" "What do you mean 'Magic Reflect'?" Twilight said confused. Liu breathed carefully, remaining calm. "To the Lair with both of you!" Shang said as a portal opened beneath Liu and Twilight. The two fell into the portal before Twilight got to use her magic to close it. Twilight realized she had wings and landed on the ground on all four hooves. She used her magic to teleport a pillow under Liu, who landed safely on it. "Thanks for the pillow, Twi." Liu said. "You're welcome." Twilight said back. The two looked around. "I did not expect to fight in this tournament." Twilight and Liu turned around to see Goro. "But eventually, even the Shaolin produce a warrior worthy of a Shokan." Liu Kang was ready to fight. "I know who you are! I am ready for you!" Goro said to the two, "I will give you both a warrior's death." Twilight shot magic at Goro, but Shang was right. He reflected her magic back at her. Liu and Twilight eventually defeated Goro. The Shaolin monk looked at the dragon monster and said, "It seems the Shaolin trained a warrior greater than a Shokan." He looked at Twilight. "Goro was the defending champion. No one has ever defeated him, until now." A portal opened above them. The two looked up. "Let's go!" In the throne room, everyone was silent, until Liu and Twilight emerged from the portal. "Shang Tsung! Queen Chrysalis! Only one fight remains! Face us... in Mortal Kombat!" "So be it." Liu and Shang shot fireballs at each other while Twilight and Chrissy fought hoof to hoof. Eventually, the two shapeshifters combined their powers and transformed into a two headed dragon. Liu Kang hopped into Twilight's back as she flew off and Liu landed on their back. Twilight and Liu smacked the dragon's heads together as they fell and turned back to normal. Liu looked at the defeated shapeshifters and said, "Say it!" Shang got up and said, "I... I concede." Chrissy held out a white flag. "Yeah!" Sonya and Nightwolf said. "Yee-haw!" Applejack said. "Well done, my friend." Lao admitted. "He has saved Earthrealm." Raiden said as an abundance of light appeared from above, and everyone went to the champion. "That was awesome, Liu Kang!" Sonya said. "Congratulations.” Nightwolf smiled. "Way to go, kid!" Jax complimented. "Aw, yeah!" Rainbow Dash high-fived Liu. "MVP, baby!" Johnny said. As the Earthrealmers cheered for Liu, the Outworlders walked to the bright portal, Shang Tsung heading out first. Kitana looked at Liu before she walked through the portal. Raiden walked up to Liu and Twilight and bowed in respect. Liu and Twilight smiled. Liu nodded while Raiden looked at his amulet. It made a mystical sound and it cracked again, surprising him, the Mane 7, and Spike. At Shao Kahn's throne room, Shang and Chrissy was on their knees surrounded by Trixie, Reptile, Baraka, and Kitana. "Unbelievable!" Shao Kahn said as he was angry at the shapeshifters. "You failed me! 500 years I have waited for this moment! Now I must wait 500 more! Do you know how many movies I had to watch to pass the time?! 312 million!" Shang looked at the emperor. "My lord! All is not lost!" Shao Kahn walked to his throne and said, "Curse the Elder Gods and their tournament! I should have taken Earthrealm by force! But I am bound by their rules." Shao Kahn sat on his throne. "Rules that cannot be broken." "My lord!" Shang pleaded. "Please give us another chance!" Chrissy pleaded as well. "Kill them." Shao Kahn commanded, Baraka and Reptile grasping Shang's arms and Trixie holding Chrissy still while Kitana prepared her weapons to finish them. "But what if the rules were changed?" Shang Tsung asked. “Hmmm... I like that idea... but it’s not good enough!” Shao Kahn yelled at them. ”What if we had dark magic on our side?” The changeling queen asked. "Kitana!" he said to his daughter, the princess looking at him all concerned. "Continue...” At the Wu Shi Academy, Shaolin warriors and the remaining Earthrealmers and ponies watch as Liu and Twilight walk up to Raiden, and they bow to each other in respect. Raiden took the medals and put them on Liu and Twilight. Everyone behind the two cheered and clapped. Pinkie Pie stood up and said, "This calls for a victory party!" Chapter 6: JaxEveryone was having a good time at the victory party, except Raiden, Jax, and Big Macintosh who were outside. Raiden looked at his amulet and said, "That's weird. I do not understand why my amulet is further damaged. He must win... if not Liu Kang, then who?" Jax looked at Raiden. "Ya got me... Not sure anyone coulda done what he did. Made Shang Tsung and Queen Chrysalis look like a pair of chumps. Right, Big Mac?" Big Mac looked at the two and said, "Eeyup." "Here to congratulate us on our victory, sorcerer?" Raiden said as he, Jax, and Big Mac turned around to see Shang Tsung, who was wearing an entirely different outfit, and younger. "What? Shang Tsung?!" Jax said. "You have been revitalized, I see. I didn't realize your master was in the habit of rewarding failure." Raiden said. Pinkie and Twilight walked onto the balcony and looked at the sorcerer. Twilight said, "Shang Tsung? What are you doing here? We didn't invite you to our victory party! Your name isn't on the list, so you aren't allowed. Now get out before I tell the others!" "The emperor has an offer, Raiden." Shang announced. "A new tournament." Raiden looked at Shang. "Psssh. I see no reason to participate in any plan of yours." Twilight added, "Yeah. Liu and I just kicked your butts, and now you want a rematch?" "The Emperor proposes a single tournament, to replace the current system of ten." Shang explained. "It will be held in Outworld. If Earthrealm does not win, Outworld will absorb it AND Equestria. But if Earthrealm wins, Shao Kahn will abandon is claim to it... forever." "Give your emperor my regards." Raiden told him. Twilight Sparkle said, "Buck off, Shang!" The rest of the Mane 7 agreed with Twilight. Shang grew angry and said, "Big mistake, everypony." Fire appeared on Shang's arms as he extended them. A portal opened up with a bunch of Tarkatans coming out. Raiden and the Mane 7 got into a fight with Shang, while Jax jumped off the ledge. He defeated three Tarkatans, and two more punched him in the face, he fell over and was knocked out with a kick to the face. Jax started to regain consciousness. "He gained a momentary advantage during our kombat and escaped. I now realize what we must do." said Raiden. Applejack looked at Jax and said, "Hey! Looks like he's wakin' up!" A grey pegasi stallion that looked like a mare named Ed Plus and an orange unicorn mare named Cordelia with cutie marks that look the same but have different colors have arrived. Ed looked at the fighters and said, "Hey, everypony. Sorry we're late." Jax got back up and said, "Anybody get the number o' that--" He stopped and looked around to see Sonya wasn't present. "Wait. Where's Sonya?" Applejack was confused, too. "I don't know. Wasn't she at the victory party?" "Shang Tsung and Chrissy have taken her." Raiden answered. "We gotta find her." Jax told everyone. "We must follow them!" Kung Lao responded. Raiden stated, "Shang Tsung has made it clear that both Earthrealm and Equestria will be constant threats unless I agree to a new tournament." Raiden had a vision of Liu Kang killing Shao Kahn. "Another vision?" Jax wondered. "Yes." Raiden explained. "I saw Liu Kang win the proposed tournament. I belive we must attend. But my earlier vision of your victory over Shang Tsung and Queen Chrysalis was not the solution I sought. Therefore, this premonition shows an event that I need to change. Perhaps 'He must win' refers to another." Discord magically appeared behind Raiden and said, "You should have seen the look on Jax's face when he woke up. Priceless!" Twilight looked at the dragonquus and said, "Discord, this is serious. We need your help to win this tournament. We can't let Shao Kahn merge Earthrealm with Outworld AND Equestria." "Hear me, Elder Gods! I accept the terms proposed by Shao Khan!" Raiden said as a golden light shone down on him. "We go to Outworld." In Shao Kahn's throne room, the emperor was greeted with Goro, who presented a yin-yang object to Shao Kahn. He gave it back to Goro, who put it in a chest which he and Sheeva moved out. Raiden, Johnny, Jax, Ed, Cordelia, Discord, the Mane 7, and Spike were looking at Shao Kahn and his minions, who didn't notice them. "I assume that's the big man himself." Jax said. "I can almost think of him ripping my jaw in half!" Spike said in fear. Ed had a happy look on his face and said, "He kinda reminds me of John Cena." "The wrestler guy with the cowskull on his head?" Johnny Cage asked. "And why aren't the Kung Fu Twins here helping us?” "I sent Liu Kang and Kung Lao to free their Shaolin masters." Raiden answered. "I expected Sonya Blade to be here with Shang Tsung." "She better not have a scratch on her." Jax said in anger as he walked forward. "Wait! They'll see us! This is a tournament!" Raiden warned him, blowing their cover. "Ah, the Earthrealm delegation has arrived." Shang said besides Shao Kahn. "And we have a volunteer for first kombat!" "Wait, what?" Jax was confused. "The tournament will begin... NOW!" Shao Kahn announced. The tarkatan army roared in cheers. "Jackson Briggs!" Shang called out. "You will face... Baraka!" The tarkatans applauded for Baraka as he stepped up with his blades out. "Damn you ugly." Jax called out. "My blades will find your heart!" Baraka said before he shot sparks at Jax. Jax hit the tarkatan general with a ground pound, launching him into the air where he was uppercut, and eventually he was defeated. Jax looked at him and said, "You shouldn't be running with those." He walked up to Shang. "Where's Sonya?" "Tell me, Major Briggs... do you and she do anything than rescue one another?" Shang asked. Ed was angry. "You tell us where she is right now, or I'll-" "SILENCE!" Shang demanded. "Your next opponent will be--" Shang was about to announce the next opponent, but was interrupted by Reptile. "What is it?" The creature whispered something in the sorcerer's ear. "Excellent. It seems I have a pressing matter to attend to. With the emperor's permission, we will reconvene later." Everyone except the Earthrealmers and Equestrians left. "What was that all about?" Jax asked. "I think we should follow 'em." Cordelia and Ed looked at each other. "Good idea." Raiden had a vision of Sonya chained up and throng to escape. "You okay?" Jax asked. "Sonya Blade... she is to be executed. My powers compromised here in Outworld, bio I will be able to transport us near enough to her.” Everyone left the throne room and found themselves in the armory. "Maybe you could try for even nearer next time?" Johnny asked Raiden. "Where are we, anyway?" "I will inform you the instant I know." Raiden said. "Man, Shang Tsung's island sure is confusing." Ed said. "You said it, Ed." Cordelia replied. "I wish this damn tracking device worked in here." Jax tried to get reception. "This is just like my movie 'Time Smashers,'" Johnny mentioned. "Where we were goin' around—" "Give it a rest, will ya?" Jax remarked. "Makin' my ears hurt." Johnny paused. "So what's the deal with you and Sonya, anyway? She's smokin' hot!" Johnny wondered. "It's not like that. I'm her C.O." "Honey like that, under my command? Oh I'd be so—" "You'll wanna stop talking now." "But if it's not like that, then you won't mind if I—" "That's it!" Jax exclaimed. "Time somebody shut you the hell up!" Twilight teleported in front of Jax. "Jax, stop it!" Jax was angry now. "Two against one, why the hell not?" With that, Jax plunged forward and punched Johnny in the face and kicked Twilight in the flank until they were beaten. "How do you like that, Mr. A-List?" "HEY! Save your fight for the tournament!" Rainbow Dash declared them to stop. "You're right." Jax sighed. "Sorry, Dash." Twilight apologized. "Enough!" Raiden scolded, walking to the major. "Jackson Briggs. You will restrain yourself." "Yeah well, I—" Before Jax could continue, Raiden motioned him to be quiet. "Someone approaches." "Good. Maybe somebody else needs their ass whooped." He walked up to Jade, while Johnny and Twilight got back up. "You lookin' for somethin'?" "The Armory is restricted. You will leave now." Jade ordered. Jax shook his head and said, "You're gonna have to ask nicer than that." Jade and Jax fought until she snapped his elbows. "Come on! I was gonna go applebucking with Big Mac!" Jax got angry and used an X-ray on Jade, defeating her. "Wrong place, wrong time, lady." Jax said. Johnny walked up to Jax and Twilight. "Feel better?" Johnny asked. "Uh, listen, Cage—" "Don't worry about it. Guess we know where we are now, thanks to her." "Yes," Raiden agreed. "And where we must go." Raiden headed off while Jax did so too. "Let's do it." he responded to the Thunder God's words, following him. "Um... um..." Johnny stammered not sure of what to do. "Come on, Cage!" Jax said from afar. Twilight grabbled the actor with her magic. In Dead Pool, creatures were playing a game which is like dice, but there was a lot of cheering involved. Watching them is Sonya and the Shokan Sheeva, the former being tied up. "What is it with you Shokan and underground cesspools?" Sonya asked. "If you haven't dishonored yourself by attempting escape, we would not be in this sewer." Sheeva told her. From afar, everyone found her. Johnny yelled, "Sonya! We're coming!" gathering Sheeva's attention. "Guards! Stop them!" Sheeva commanded. Jax glared at the actor. "So much for the surprise attack..." Jax told Johnny. The door behind them closed. "Well, what else could we have done?" Ed questioned. Johnny and Raiden got into a fighting stance and waited for incoming foes, but Jax seems to take care of their job pretty well, making one of the guards fall into the acid with the weapon he took from his now dead opponent. Applejack knocked the rest on the guards into the acid with their own weapon and said, "Ooh! This could come in handy!" "She is the emperor's property, human." Sheeva announced. "She's nobody's property." Jax reflected Sheeva's fireballs back at her. Sheeva jumped in the air, and tried to land on Jax, who uppercut her before she could hit him. "I guess extra arms don't make a difference." Jax said. Sonya watched her C.O. heading towards her and said, "You sure have a way with women." Jax looked up at the blonde and picked her up, gently placing her down once the anchor was away from her. "You know me. I'm a class act." Pulling out a knife, the major cut the rope while Johnny and Raiden walked forward. "Thanks." Sonya said. "What took you so long?" "He was busy hitting me in the face." Johnny answered. Sonya checked her wrist computer. "That's weird... I've got two sets of readings... heavy tech signals... both of 'em." Jax checked his wrist computer, which was still not working. He said, "What? How come yours is working but mine isn't?" Twilight looked at the two and said, "Well, now I'm REALLY confused." "Technology..." Raiden trailed, crossing his arms. "Then they cannot be of Outworld. We need to confront the source of each signal. We might discover the one whose victory I must insure." "Wait, what about us?" Johnny asked. "What are we? Chopped liver?" Everyone glared at Johnny angrily. "What?" "Perhaps you are right, Johnny Cage." Raiden replied, uncrossing his arms. "You and Applejack, Rainbow Dash, Fluttershy, Ed and Cordelia will stay close to me. Close as a shadow, and twice as silent." "Sonya, you're with me, Rarity, Pinkie, Twilight, Spike, Discord, and Starlight." Jax announced. "Keepin' my eye on you." He walked up to her wrist computer and pointed one of the signals, saying to the Thunder God, "Raiden, looks like you'll wanna teleport yourself about thirty clicks that way." Chapter 7: SmokeSomewhere in Outworld, two ninja were on shore. One was wearing grey, and the other was wearing clothes that looked like Sub-Zero's. "We should stay together, Tundra." The grey one said. "Assuming your brother's identity will certainly draw attention. Not all of it welcome." "You are right, Smoke." said the blue one. "But assuming Bi-Han's identity is the best way to honor him." "Let us proceed then, Sub-Zero." "We should separate. Our fellow Lin Kuei will not be far behind once their absence is discovered." "If only they had been more forthcoming with the details of your brother's demise. We will find Shang Tsung. He will tell us all he knows." "If he killed Bi-Han, he will die. Be stealthful as the night..." "...and deadly as the dawn." Smoke said as Sub-Zero walked away. "The emperor was wise to send me here." a voice said. Smoke turned around to see Kitana. "The Lin Kuei do walk uninvited in his realm." "Wise though your emperor might be, he was very foolish to send his housemaid to interfere with Lin Kuei business." "I am no housemaid! I am Kitana, Princess of Outworld! And I deal harshly with sharp-tongued intruders like you!" Smoke turned invisible, confusing Kitana. Smoke kept hitting Kitana. Eventually, she threw her fans at him while he was shaking and teleported into the air, landing on her. Once she was defeated, he said, "Where there is smoke, there is fire." He looked at his opponent. "Sleep well, princess." In the Living Forest, Smoke found Kano, Dr. Caballeron, and Shang with bazookas. Kano laughed and said, "With a whole army tootin' these, no one in Earthrealm, Outworld OR Equestria could stand up to you." "Well done." Shang said as he was impressed. "You may tell your fellow Black Dragon that I am very interested in your merchandice." Dr. Caballeron held a necklace with a black gem around it. He told Shang, "With this, nothing magical will be able to touch you." "You done well, Caballeron." Shang announced. "Shang Tsung!" Smoke called out. Shang and Kano noticed this. "I'll take care of him." Kano said putting the gun away. "No charge. One dead Lin Kuei... in a tick." Kano threw knives at Smoke, who teleported into the air, landing on him after every hit. Eventually Kano was defeated. Smoke looked at him and said, "Stay down." He turned to Shang. "I would have words with your associate. Tell me what you know of Sub-Zero's death." Reptile turned visible and appeared behind Shang who morphed into Sub-Zero. "What?" "Despite his failure at my tournament, I'll wager he was far more powerful than you, Lin Kuei." Shang responded. "Ha! Assuming his form will not give you his skill, shapeshifter." "Let us see if smoke can freeze." Shang tried to hit Smoke with iceballs, but he dodged every one. Shang stayed in his current form and was beaten up real good. Afterwards, Reptile began to attack Smoke, who turned invisible as well as Reptile. They both punched each other at the same time, and turned visible. After they were defeated, Smoke said, "Now answer me!" Shang turned back to normal. "What do you know of Sub-Zero?" Before he could talk, he Smoke received a slap to the face. "Very funny, Reptile." Smoke was not amused. Reptile was confused. "What? I didn't slap you." Smoke was even more angry at Reptile. "What?" They kept arguing until Smoke yelled, "If you didn't slap me, THEN WHO DID?!" "Smoke!" A mysterious voice said. The mysterious hitting continued. "Gotta go!" Shang said as he and Caballeron teleported away with the weapons. Just then, Sektor- who was now a cyborg- turned visible and said, "You have disobeyed the directive to remain at the Lin Kuei temple." "Sketor?!" "You will return with us to begin your transformation." "You actually did it... you're a cyborg!" "We are the Lin Kuei. More stealthful than the night... more deadly than the dawn!" The two fought. Smoke kept teleporting and juggled Sektor with uppercuts until Sektor has a quarter health left. For that time, used an X-Ray on him. As the cyborg fell, Smoke told him, "I will never submit! NEVER!" As he began to walk away, he was surrounded by an army of cyborgs who began to turn him into a cyborg. Just then, Raiden, Johnny Cage, Applejack, Rainbow Dash, Fluttershy, Ed and Cordelia appeared. "There is great energy nearby." Raiden told them. "Um... Rai-dude..." Johnny got his attention. Raiden had a vision of Smoke becoming a cyborg. "No." Raiden said. "They must not take him." He electrocuted all of the cyborgs, knocking them out, as Sektor turned invisible and escaped. The 7 walked up to Smoke. Smoke got on his knees. "Thank you Lord Raiden. I am called Smoke." He stood backup again. "Why are you here in Outworld?" "To participate in a tournament to save Earthrealm and Equestria. Join us, Smoke." "Forgive me, but if Sektor was searching for me, he is hunting Sub-Zero as well." "Sub-Zero?" Johnny Cage asked in confusion. "Call me crazy with a K... but didn't we see him die?" "The Grand Master plans to turn every Lin Kuei into a cyborg." Smoke explained. "My friend is in danger." "The tournament." Raiden remembered. "I have a feeling your friend will be there." "Then let us go." Smoke said. "Sub-Zero's soul depends on it." "What about the others?" Rainbow Dash wondered. "We'll meet them at the Coliseum. Let's go!" Ed Plus said. Chapter 8: Sub-ZeroAt the Soul Chamber, Sub-Zero has finished freezing two people who failed to defeat him. "It is a pity you could have not cooperated." He looked to see Cyrax walking towards him. "You are ordered to return to the Lin Kuei temple for assimilation." "Cyrax!" Sub-Zero said in shock. "I am Lin Kuei Unit L-K-4-D-4. You will come with me." "I am sorry for what they did to you... but I will not comply." Sub-Zero began to ice slide at Cyrax and put the hurt on him real good until he was beaten. Sub-Zero then said, "I will face the Lin Kuei when my task is done, not before." Cyrax then disappeared to reveal Sonya, Jax, Rarity, Pinkie, Twilight, Spike, Discord, and Starlight. "The readings were getting stronger and now they're gone. I--" Sonya was surprised to see Sub-Zero. "Sub-Zero?! But... you're dead!" Twilight was shocked. "That's impossible! We saw your skull and spine! How did you survive-?!" "I am not the Sub-Zero you speak of." Sub-Zero explained. "He was my brother." "Your... brother?" Sonya asked. Pinkie was excited. "Ooh! Ooh! Was he single?" "Sorry, Pinkie." Her smile turned into a frown. "I am only here to learn Sub-Zero's fate." His brother explained. Sonya looked at Jax and said, "He was killed by someone named Scorpion." "Where would I find him?" "Try the Coliseum. That's where--" Sonya was interrupted by souls coming out of the mouth and they heard a voice. "You have disturbed our regeneration process." the voice said. Ermac emerged out of the mouth. "Ermac." Jax said, walking up to him, grabbing him by the throat. Before he could land a punch, Ermac used his other hand to telepathically grab Jax's right hand, spread his arms out, and released a strong amount of energy to rip both of Jax's arms off. Jax yelled from the pain, as Ermac pushed him to the ground. "Oh my Celestia! This is not good." Spike was horrified to see this. "Jax!" Sonya used her energy blaster to stop the bleeding. "Stay with me Jax!" Ermac walked up to Sub-Zero and said, "We will break you as well." "Not if I break you first." Sub-Zero stated before fighting. Ermac threw a soul ball at Sub-Zero, who jumped over it. He beat Ermac up when he was stuck in an ice puddle for most of the fight. When Ermac was defeated, Sub-Zero told him, "I remain whole, for now." He walked up to Sonya, who was trying to get in touch with her wrist communicator. "Sonya Blade to Command. Sonya Blade to Command. Do you read?" No response. "Sonya Blade to Command. Do you read?" "You have stopped the bleeding." Sub-Zero told her. "Yeah, but he needs a medic as soon as possible." "I must go to the Coliseum." "But I need your help to-" "There is a portal to the south. You can use it to transport yourselves back to Earthrealm." "Mother f..." Sonya paused to stop herself from swearing in front of Spike. "That portal better be close..." Sonya went to take Jax to the portal. Sub-Zero looked to Twilight and said, "Come with me to the Coliseum. We will meet the rest of your friends there." "If you say so." Twilight began to follow Sub-Zero. At the Coliseum, Kitana was fighting a wrestler, and Sub-Zero, Twilight and her friends walked forward. Twilight walked towards the rest of the ponies. Kitana defeated the wrestler as he said, "I have failed. I deserve death." I have failed my father. You must kill me. Kitana thought of what she said earlier. "Kill him!" Shao Kahn was growing impatient and released a green energy ray the the wrestler, killing him. "Kitana! You will join me." He said as a Tarkatan dragged the wrestler away. "Shao Kahn! I challenge Scorpion, the murder of my brother! You will bring him before me! Right here and right now!" Sub-Zero demanded. "No one makes demands of the emperor!" Shang told him. "Reptile!" The Zaterian walked to the fighting arena and growled. Sub-Zero made an ice clone and Reptile froze when he hit it. When Reptile was defeated, Sub- Zero said, "I would kill you, but that is not my purpose here." Reptile got up. Sub-Zero began to speak, but before he could talk, Trixie teleported onto the arena. "You think you can defeat the Great and Powerful Trixie? Do your worst!" Sub-Zero said, "Your magic tricks don't scare me, Lulamoon." Sub-Zero fought Trixie until she was at half the health. The blue unicorn couldn't help but trap Sub-Zero in a magic box, only to escape and make an ice clone that Trixie hit to get frozen in place. Sub-Zero defeated her with an X-Ray and said, "Your magic tricks are totally cheap." He walked up to the emperor. "Your followers hold you in high esteem, warlord. They fight and die for your amusement. My brother participated in this folley. I do so only to face his killer!" "And you shall." Shao Kahn told him. Quan Chi his hand into a fist, green magic appeared around it, and Scorpion appeared. "What is this?" Scorpion asked. "You are not Sub-Zero!" "I am his family and clan." Sub-Zero answered. "I fight for his honor." "He HAD no honor! And you will die as he did!" Scorpion and Sub-Zero had a sword fight, and Sub-Zero knocked Scorpion's sword out of his hand. Once the sword fight was finished, Sub-Zero emerged victorious and said, "For my brother!" Just as Sub-Zero was about to freeze him, an army of cyber Lin Kuei surrounded the winner. "No! You--" Scorpion escaped, and Cyrax and Sektor appeared. "Who now interrupts the emperor's tournament?" Shang questioned. Smoke, Raiden, Johnny, Spike, and the ponies watched this. Smoke said, "Sub-Zero? No!" "You cannot save him!" Raider said. "Stay here or they will take you as well." "We request that we may return him to our temple for judgement." Sektor stated. Kitana walked away. "Continue." Raiden looked at Smoke, Johnny, Spike and the ponies and said, "Kitana's faith is a slender reed, bent before the storm. It can be uprooted altogether..." He began to leave the arena. Johnny followed him. "Sure. Let's go ruin someone else's life." Smoke was depressed about the loss of his friend. The The vultures were messing with Sonya Blade's dead body, another vulture wanted to feast on her, and the first one flew away. We then see the Pyramid of Argus, where Cyrax, Spike, Nightwolf, Zecora, Sheeva, Snips and Snails, Kabal, Starlight Glimmer, Kenshi, the CMC, Quan Chi, Trixie, Liu Kang, and even the Mane Six were dead. But wait! Raiden's still alive, and he gets knocked to the ground by Shao Kahn. "Where are the Elder Gods, Raiden?" Shao Kahn said before picking him up again. "Their pathetic Mortal Kombat shackles me no longer." Raiden got slapped in the face and Shao Kahn threw him and in slow motion, his amulet, and a locket Princess Celestia gave him both fell on the ground. The amulet cracked, and Shao Kahn snapped the locket in half with his foot. Shao Kahn had his hammer in his hand. "They masquerade as dragons, but are mere toothless worms. I mean, Come on! They do nothing but stare at us all day!" Raiden turned around and was greeted by Shao Kahn's foot stomping his chest. "My venom spreads. My dark magic grows. It is the end of all things. Armageddon." "STOP!" Raiden pleaded. "It is done. ALL of your friends are dead, and those pathetic ponies were no match for my newfound dark magic." Shao Kahn grabbed Raiden with his fist. "Your time has passed." Shao Kahn said before throwing Raiden one last time. "Ages wasted in foolish resistance. Now is the dawn of MY rule." Raiden grabbed his broken amulet and locket. He sat on his knees and began speaking in an ancient language. "Yes, pray to the worms, Raiden. Pray to your wife. As your worlds end." Shao Kahn killed Raiden with his hammer, but not before saying his last words: "He must win!" Multiple scenes from the past occurred, including ones where Raiden was kissing Princess Celestia at a wedding, babysitting Flurry Heart, and events that are most likely to occur in the story. In the past, Raiden witnessed these visions, and Liu Kang was standing next to him. "Lord Raiden, what is wrong?" Liu said. "Strange visions, past memories in Equestria, and in one of them, Shining Armor and Princess Candace-" "CADANCE." Liu corrected him. "Cadance asked me to babysit Flurry Heart... AGAIN." He noticed his amulet was cracked. "Your amulet!" "It is nothing, Liu Kang. The tournament begins." Raider said as he put his amulet back on. Everyone was standing still, Except for Pinkie Pie who was excitedly hopping up and down. An old man is accompanied by 2 females, one wearing blue and the other wearing green. Queen Chrysalis was holding a cup of wine and gave it to him. With a motion of his hands, the spectators sat down. "Kombatants." he said. "I am Shang Tsung! In the coming days each of you will fight." He took a quick sip from the wine. "Some are here of their own volition, others were brought here by chance." The Mane Six, Spike, and Starlight Glimmer all smiled at Raiden, in which Raiden smiled back. One of the fighters, Johnny Cage, who was in a totally different dress code, looked at a blonde named Sonya Blade and said "Hey, beautiful. Johnny Cage." "Good for you." the blonde replied, not meeting him before. "What? 'Massive Strike'? 'Citizen Cage'? 'Ninja Mime'? None of those ring a bell?" "Kano..." the blonde recognized a familiar face. "'Kano'? Wasn't in That one..." Just then a blue pegasus with a rainbow-colored mane known as Rainbow Dash said, "HEY! Down in front! I'm trying to listen to Shang here!" Shang Tsung continued, "You participate in the most important Mortal Kombat in history! This tournament, the tenth after 9 Outworld victories, will determine Earthrealm's fate. If you defeat all of your opponents, you will face one final challenge... me." Johnny Cage laughed in awe. "Ha! That old geezer's the final challenge? They might as well give me the belt right now. They do have belts right?" When Johnny turned around, Shang Tsung was standing right next to him. "What? How did you-" Shang glared at the Hollywood actor. "Appearances can be deceiving." Chapter 2: Sonya BladeSonya found herself in a tunnel after about two hours of walking. While there's some fire to light her way, she tried her best to sneak in quietly so that she wouldn't disturb anyone else in the lair. With her back to the wall, she whispered loudly, "Jax! Jax! You in here?" Continuing to walk, she found Jax, along with Snips and Snails. "Oh my God." she said. "Run, girl, run..." Jax warned. Sonya gave him a curious look, but a familiar voice was heard from behind. "Ms. Blade," Shang Tsung called out from a few feet away. He and the two guards walked forward. "You do not disappoint! I have been expecting you!" "Let him go! We're not part of your stupid tournament!" Raising his hand, Shang Tsung said to Sonya, "On the contrary. You are very much a kontestant. You will face Sub-Zero, of the Lin Kuei clan of assassins." An ice sculpture broke and it destroyed to reveal Sub-Zero. "Now you will feel death's cold embrace." The assassin said. Once Sub-Zero was down, Sonya looked at him and said, "Done! We're leaving this confusing place!" Raiden then appeared within a flash of lightning. "Stand in my way and I'll kick your—" "A challenge?" Shang Tsung asked. Raiden had a vision of Lui and Twilight smashing Shang and Chrissy's skulls together. "No. You will not be the one to challenge Shang Tsung." "You want some too? Fine by me!" Sonya put up a good fight, and finished him off with an X-Ray. Sonya told Raiden, "Enough of this!" Sonya walked up to Raiden and grabbed him by the shirt, and said to her, "Shield your eyes." "What?" "Shield your eyes." Raiden flashed in a huge luminous light. Sonya protected her eyes while the guards and Shang, and Chrissy were temporarily blinded by the light. Sonya used the free time to use her blaster to destroy the bars and free Jax, Snips, and Snails, placing Jax's arm around her for support. "Jax, come on! We're outta here!" Sonya said as she escaped. "'Bout time..." Jax said.The guards ran after them while Shang and Chrissy casually walked up to the Thunder God. "You aided their escape," he said to Raiden with a glare. "You allowed them to escape," Raiden corrected. "They will not get far." Shang Tand Chrissy left. Outside, Sonya supported her companion to a safe place. Out of all places, she chose the gardens because they were so beautiful, and totally not because of Jax's drag that he was forced to put on. "Come on, Jax! Move it! That's an order!" Her voice was loud for his ears, but he replied, "Oh... So you're in charge now?" On her wrist comm, Sonya began to speak for assistance. "Special Forces Command, this is Sonya Blade! Where's that evac?" "...Blade, they are en route... coming to you..." "Affirmative!" Sonya replied. "Almost home, soldier." "By order of Shang Tsung, no one leaves this island." Said Kitana who, and Jade were standing right behind her. "I don't have time for this!" Sonya said "Outta my way! Both of you!" After the 2 Edenians have fallen, Sonya said to herself, "Sure don't need anymore surprises like them." "Did somepony say, 'surprise'?" Pinkie asked, popping up in front of Sonya. "How are you holding up?" Sonya asked Jax. "I'm fine." Jax said. "So are we." said Snips and Snails. "Liar," Sonya playfully accused him. "After I get you to base, I'm coming back. Kano's still here somewhere." "Your obsession with him is gonna get you killed," Jax warned. "I trusted him." "Yeah, we all did." "But I was the one he used." After Sonya's response, a helicopter was near, and that gave her a hopeful look. "I think our ride's here," she told him. She got up and waved at the helicopter. The pilot noticed this and flew closer to the two, but a huge fireball came and blew up the helicopter, ruining their only chance to escape. Even Pinkie was surprised as ever. "What?! No!" Sonya yelled. A sinister laughter came out of nowhere, and she looked to her right, seeing Shang with a fireball in his hand, and Kano, smiling smug at her. "Damn you!" "You have a challenger. Kano," Shang Tsung announced. Sonya groaned irritably, glaring at her enemy. "Pretty Boy ain't gonna save you this time." Kano said. Sonya Constantly hit Kano in the knees and said, "You're comin' with me!" Walking up to him, she was stopped by a small wall of fire, preventing her from continuing forward. "Kano is not your prisoner," Shang Tsung said to Sonya. The latter sighed, motioning her hand to Jax. "At least help Jax. He needs a medic !" Shang Tsung walked up to her and just laughed evilly. She sighed and said to him, "Bastard." Kano walked passed her with a laugh while Kitana and Jade followed, giving her glares like upper-class women. Sonya shook her head in stress. "There she is!" a familiar voice said. Sonya turned around, to see Johnny with Raiden, Liu and the Equestrian gang. "You all right? Hey, looks like you found 'im ." He saluted to Jax. "S'up, Sarge?" "He's a ma—" Sonya said, but stopped when Raiden walked towards the injured man. "Hey, what are you doing?" she asked the Thunder God, who's hands formed electricity. "It's okay. He's cool." "What the?" the major said curiously, seeing Raiden doing this. "Jax!" Sonya said. "Seriously. He's cool." Sighing for the infinite time, Sonya watched as Raiden's electricity heals up Jax. The latter looked at his arm, seeing the bruises disappearing. "Wow!" Jax said. "That's amazing! I feel better already!" Jax carefully got up, feeling good and new. "Told ya!" Johnny said to Sonya. "Turns out he's a god!" "Thank you... Raiden." Sonya said. "Gratitude is unnecessary." Raiden said otherwise. "I have foreseen events, like memories of my future. They lead me to believe that you are all connected to Earthrealm's fate." "What have you foreseen?" Liu asked. "In my visions, Shao Kahn becomes invincible. He is immune to any kind of Equestrian magic, including the Elements of Harmony. He destroys all life in Earthrealm and Equestria. We will all die. I believe these flashes are a guide to defeating Shao Kahn. But disrupting the flow of time can have serious consequences." "I'm not worried." Johnny commented. "I bet you could win this thing no problem." "Unless directly challenged, I cannot participate," Raiden stated to the actor. "Then why did you face me?" Sonya asked the Thunder God. "Because you wouldn't listen to my warning. If you faced Shang Tsung, you would change the flow of time." "What should we do besides standing around looking pretty?" Johnny asked. "For now, the tournament must run its course." Raiden explained. "All right then. We're with you, Raiden." With a simple nod, the Thunder God stayed still. Rainbow Dash looked at the others and said, "We should probably head back ASAP." everyone agreed.
Chapter 1: Johnny CageShang Tsung levitated back to his chair. "Our first kombatant will be Mr. Cage!" Hearing his name, the Hollywood actor walked up. "That's right! That's right! Who's it gonna be?" Pinkie Pie, hopping up and down said, "Ooh! Ooh! Is it Slasher Dasher? Slinky Rinky? Moshi the Yoshi?" "Reptile!" Shang Tsung announced. Reptile turned visible, and leaped onto the ground. "Nice stunt!" Johnny Cage complimented. "Who's your agent?" Queen Chrysalis was serving popcorn to the spectators and Shang Tsung, who announced "Begin!" "All right! It's showtime!" Johnny said as the first match has begun. Johnny hit Reptile with green goo balls. After the fight was over, Johnny looked at his defeated opponent. "He got CAGED! That's it! Ha, haa! Oh yeah! I'm SO pretty." He walked up to the other kombatans, including Chameleon, Applejack, a stuntman, Trixie, and Sonya Blade, pointing to them. "And I'm taking you down, I'm taking you down, I'm taking you out, I'm taking you out, and I'm taking you out... for dinner." "Ugh!" Sonya said in disgust. Shang was unimpressed. "Now for your second challenge Mr Cage: Baraka!" The beast jumped onto the arena floor. Johnny was stunned to see Baraka. "Mmm, okay... nice makeup, but is it REALLY necessary?" Applejack looked scared. "I don't think it's makeup..." she said to Fluttershy. Fluttershy said to Applejack, "Me, neither." Right on cue, the Outworld Wolverine popped his blades out. Rarity let out a high pitched scream. "WOAH!" Johnny Cage was surprised. "They will taste your flesh!" Baraka said. Johnny kicked Baraka in the face multiple times, and even punched him in the balls. Baraka shot some sparks at Johnny, who didn't even get a scratch. Then Johnny uppercut the Tarkatan, as he was defeated. "Man, I love those blades! My producer has got to meet you! We're doing 'Tommy Scissorfists', and-- " "Congratulations, Mr. Cage." Shang Tsung said. "Now FINISH HIM!" "Finish him? Yeah, right!" The actor said. "KILL HIM!" The sorcerer demanded. Johnny looked over at Cyrax and Sub-Zero, Scorpion and Quan Chi, and even the Mane Seven and Spike. Pinkie Pie was excited to see Johnny kill Baraka. "Woah. Woah, woah, wait a sec! I'm not gonna kill anyone!" Hearing this, Pinkie's smile turned into a frown. "Very well." Shang Tsung stood up. "The tournament will resume at dawn!" Everyone started to leave, except for Johnny who said "What, that's it? Really?" Johnny put his hands together. "Now where'd that hottie go?" Johnny turned around to find Sonya, but was cut off by Raiden and Liu Kang. "You have fought well." Raiden said honestly to the actor. "Thanks." Johnny replied. "Nice hat, by the way." Liu glared at Johnny. "You should be more respectful of Lord Raiden. He is the protector of Earthrealm, the god of thunder, the--" he said, but was cut off by Pinkie Pie who suddenly popped up right next to him. "Wait a minute! You CAN'T be the god of thunder!" Pinkie said. Raiden looked at Pinkie. "Why not?" There were three seconds of silence. "It's Thor, isn't it?" "Look, I don't know what role-playing you guys are into, but count me out." The Shaolin warrior tried to prevent Johnny from leaving. "This tournament is more than a chance for personal glory. We are fighting for the very survival of Earthrealm." Liu said. Johnny was confused. "What are you talking about?" Raiden said, "Your last opponent was Tarkatan; he was born with those blades." "Yeah. Those things are real." Johnny said. "He represents Outworld." Raiden said as two guards took him away. "Had you lost, the emperor Shao Kahn would have come one step closer into physically absorbing our world into his." "Outworld, yeah right, right..." "The Elder Gods created the Mortal Kombat tournament to give Earthrealm a chance to defend itself." "In order for Outworld to conquer a realm, you have to win 10 consecutive tournaments against that realm. This tournament happens once every 500 years. Earthrealm has lost 9 tournaments in a row. If we lose this tournament, Shao Kahn will conquer Earthrealm!" Pinkie said. Liu Kang was angry. "Thanks for spoiling the whole thing, Pinkie!" Johnny Cage gave a big "Dun Dun Dunnnn!" with Rainbow Dash. "Look, guys, I'm an ACTOR. I save the world for the cameras. If this emperor thing is really a threat, call the military. Me? I got a date with a blonde. Chao!" Giving Raiden a pat on the shoulder Johnny left the arena. "What do you see in him?" Liu wondered. Raiden looked at Johnny. He is a hero, Lui Kang, though he may not yet know it. Meanwhile, somewhere else on the island, Sonya had a walkie-talkie in her hand trying to get a signal. "triangulating your signal for evac, but... there is no island..." "I'm standing on it! Just lock on to my wrist com!" Sonya said to the man. "Understood. What's your current status?" Johnny managed to find her and walk up to her. "They have Jax. And if I don't fight in this crazy tournament, they'll kill him. I'm gonna try to talk to these ponies. Hopefully they can--" "Need help?" Johnny interrupted. "I specialize in rescuing damsels in distress." "You again." Sonya said trying to sound nice. "Listen. I got serious problems here. I'm in no mood to be hit on by some movie star." "Come on, a girl like you shouldn't be wandering around in this freak show alone." Sonya just walked away, but Johnny grabbed her by the arm. "Look, baby. I can't let you run loose without an escort." Sonya shoved his arm away, punching him in the guts, and landed an uppercut on the actor's jaw. "I don't need an 'escort'. And I'm sure as hell not your 'baby'!" Johnny put up a good fight, and finished her off with a Shadow Kick. "Ha haaa! not bad for a... girl. Look, sorry about that." He reached out a hand for her, but Sonya slapped it away. "I don't need your help." "Fine. Have it your way. I'll just leave you to your... problems." "Good idea!" Kano threw Johnny off the edge of the bridge. The actor yelled, and he disappeared like that. "Now that he softened you up, it's my turn!" "Not man enough for a fair fight?" Sonya asked. "I don't do 'fair'." Kano stated, starting to hit Sonya with his laser eye. "No need to get up, love." From below, Johnny still hangs on. "So tell me..." Kano continues, "how are things at Command?" "Bastard!" Sonya groaned. Johnny started to slowly get back up, but eventually, his hand couldn't hold on much longer and he fell off, but luckily he was caught by Rainbow Dash and Twilight Sparkle. "Gullible bitch. Just had to point you in the wrong direction. Couldn'ta done it without ya!" When he was getting tired of using his lasers at Sonya, she glared up at him and said, "S-F is on the way. You won't get far." "Oh, I got a knack for survival." Kano remarked. "You, on the other hand, are gonna die here. I mean it's not like two ponies are gonna catch that guy and bring him back up." Right on cue, Rainbow Dash and Twilight put Johnny back on the platform before flying off. "Step away from the lady!" Johnny demanded. "Fans think my moves and wire work are special effects. Truth is... I am the special effects." After another fight, Johnny finally beat Kano. "Throw that on your... barby... Shrimp." "Thanks." Sonya said. "No problem. Who is that guy anyway?" Sonya pulled her hand up, and Johnny helped her get up. "His name's Kano. he was an informant in our Black Dragon investigation. Big-time arms dealers. Turns out he was their leader, giving us the runaround. A lot of our guys got killed because of him." "So that's not a costume? You're actual military?" "Special Forces." "Get out! So you know about this 'threat to the world' stuff right? Raiden called in the cavalry." "Raiden?" Sonya said in confusion. "No idea who you're talking about." Sonya was about to walk towards the exit. "Damn." "He's the other Thor in the straw hat. He can't be far." "He'll have to wait. I appreciate your help, Cage..." "Johnny." "... but right now I've got things to take care of. My C.O. is locked up on this island somewhere. I have to find him." Sonya went to find Jax, and Johnny smiled at her.
Chapter 3: ScorpionBack at the courtyard, everyone made it back in time for the next match. One of the guards stood besides Kano and Raiden noticed, sensing a vision of Kung Lao fighting Baraka. Raiden walked away while Shang continued to speak. "Kombatants! Before we begin the next match, there has been a change in the rules." One of the guards handed him a piece of paper. "The Mane 7 and Spike will be allowed to fly and use magic while outside of the tournament." Everyone except Raiden, Liu Kang, the Mane 7, and Spike complained. "Sorry, everyone." said Twilight. "The Elder Gods said so." "Our next kombatant will be..." A circle of fire appeared, and Scorpion arose from the flames. It vanished once he was at the arena. "...Scorpion! Specter of the Netherrealm! Resurrected by the sorcerer Quan Chi! Who among you is worthy of this challenge?" As Scorpion looked around at the kombatants, he couldn't find the one he was looking for. Pinkie Pie was hopping up and down like crazy. "Ooh, Ooh! I am! I am! I am! Pick me! I'll take you on! Come on!" "Where is the Lin Kuei Sub-Zero?" Scorpion asked. "He killed my family and clan. I will have his head!" "I know it is you, Kung Lao." Raiden said, looking at a guard standing next to him. "The Shaolin monks chose Liu Kang to represent your order in this tournament." "I am Liu Kang's equal!" The guard said. "That remains to be seen." "Watch and see." The guard took off his mask and attire, revealing himself to be Kung Lao. "I accept the challenge!" "Kung Lao?" Liu was surprised. "Never mind the Lin Kuei. Now you face a Shaolin." "You will regret your impulsiveness." Scorpion said before fighting Kung Lao. Scorpion threw a spear at Lao, and Scorpion pulled him over while yelling "GET OVER HERE!" after the fight was over, Scorpion looked at Lao and said, "You are not yet a warrior." "Kung Lao!" Liu Kang said. He and Raiden helped the fallen warrior. "Listen when your elders speak! You could not win this fight." Scorpion walked up to Shang. "I have defeated the challenger, Shang Tsung. I demand Sub-Zero!" Raiden had a vision Scorpion holding Sub-Zero's spine and Noob Saibot rising. Twilight looked at Scorpion and said, "You are acting like a spoiled brat!" "You will demand nothing!" Shang said. "Nightwolf!" The shaman walks up to Scorpion. "Your aggression is misplaced." he said. "What do you know of my past?" Scorpion asked. "You are not the only one whose people have been victimized. But I have found new purpose in serving the Spirits. I do not cling to the past." "You no longer seek retribution? You dishonor your kind. I will honor the memory of my fallen." Scorpion kept slicing Nightwolf with his swords, until he was defeated. "The spirits have forsaken you, Shaman." Shang said, "Well done. You are full of surprises. And speaking of surprises, your next opponent is... Pinkie Pie!" Pinkie Pie hopped up to the arena. "All right, Scorpion." she said. "Get ready to party 'till you drop!" Pinkie Pie shot explosive balloons from her party cannon. Scorpion threw the balloons back at her. The two kept playing volleyball with balloon bombs, until Pinkie was defeated. "Aw, MAN!" Pinkie sighed. "You waste my time sorcerer!" Scorpion snarled with his fist covered in flames. "Restraint, Scorpion." said Quan Chi. Scorpion placed his flamed hand down. "You will fight Sub-Zero soon enough." Shang said. He stood up from his chair, and Quan Chi followed him. While everyone else left, Scorpion's eyes lowered as he was frowning behind his mask. "Scorpion," Raiden called out. "I understand your desire for revenge. but Nightwolf is right. There are other ways in which you may find peace." "Sub-Zero deserves death." "Defeat Sub-Zero if you must, but do not kill him. I fear his death will give rise to a more treacherous foe." "That does sound weird, but I will still have my revenge!" "Tell you what: spare Sub-Zero's life and I will request that the elder gods return the Shirai Ryu to the life of mortals." Scorpion took some time to think about it. The two nodded to each other. In Shang's throne room, the doors opened up, Scorpion entered and walked up to Cyrax and Sektor. "I understand there are benefits to the Grand Masters plan..." Cyrax told Sektor, "... but his plan goes against Lin Kuei principals." "We are Lin Kuei, Cyrax." Sektor stated. "We will obey the Grand Master's comands." "It means giving up our free will... our souls. It will turn us into--" Sektor saw the fire ninja walk up. "Scorpion." "Your inferior clan is dead. Soon you will join them." "My clan may walk the Earth once more." Scorpion told the Lin Kuei warriors. Cyrax pushed him. "A challenge!" Shang announced. "Scorpion and Applejack vs Cyrax and Sektor!" "Yeehaw!" Applejack said. "Y'all ready for this?" "Your obsession with Sub-Zero ends here." Cyrax told Scorpion. Scorpion took down Cyrax with teleport while Applejack tied Sektor up with her lasso and bucked him in the face. After the fight, Scorpion declared, "I will have my revenge, but I will not kill Sub-Zero." "Will not? Or cannot?" A voice said. Scorpion turned around to see Sub-Zero. "You!" Scorpion muttered, glaring at his enemy. "The Shirai-Ryu are dead. You will suffer as they did." "To hell with your clan." Sub-Zero remarked. Scorpion shook his head at the Lin Kuei and said, "No... to Hell with YOU!" He grabbed hold of Sub-Zero, and flames surrounded them and they teleported away. The Mane 7 and Spike were surprised. The two foes reappeared in the Netherrealm. Sub-Zero pulled away from Scorpion's grasp. "Wow. The Netherrealm." Sub-Zero said. "This is where I was reborn. This is where you will pay!" The two ninjas fought to the death until Sub-Zero was defeated. Scorpion looked at his beaten opponent and said, "I have avenged my family and clan." Quan Chi appeared behind Scorpion. "This is your retribution? Scorpion. Kill him." "I..." Scorpion paused, thinking of what Raiden said earlier. "I will not. He has been beaten." "Have you forgotten?" the sorcerer asked, using his power to show Scorpion what has happened in the past. "What is this?" Scorpion asked. Pictures began to move, beginning with a fire burning a village. Voices were screaming from death greeting them. An army of ninjas were killing innocent civilians with arrows. "No..." Scorpion said, realizing what this is. Sub-Zero slowly sat up, not knowing what is happening. In Quan Chi's magic, the invaders were killing people with swords, but the one that stood out most was Sub-Zero, the only one with actual color, riding on a horse while holding a sword. "Your clan. Your family." Quan Chi changed the picture. In that, a woman sheltered herself in her home, holding her child in a strong grip, protecting it from harm, while the outside was filled with death and screams of pain. The screen door opened, and Sub-Zero entered, his sword in the scabbard, getting ready to be pulled out. The woman held onto her baby as she cried, accepting her fate. After the scream, a trail of blood splattered on the screen door, and the rose petals fell down slowly. "No!" Scorpion yelled, filled with rage. Quan Chi faded the screen as Sub-Zero lifted his arm. "That is not me!" he said. Scorpion removed his hood, showing his flaming Ghost Rider skull, but then the Netherrealm blacked out. Sub-Zero let out a big scream as he was burned. Everyone was talking, but then Scorpion reappeared. Shang Tsung anticipated what the result was, along with Raiden. Revealing what happened, Scorpion held a skull and spine. Rainbow Dash shed a tear. "Ouch." Johnny said. Scorpion dropped the skull and spine, the bones crushing as they landed on the ground, in slow motion. After the motion was in normal speed, Scorpion let out his flames with a roar, teleporting out of the room. Everyone began to leave, while Raiden stepped forward to the cracked bones. "Despite my efforts, my vision has come to pass. The ship has sailed for the Shirai-Ryu to come back to life." Cyrax stood beside the Thunder God. "An unfortunate end. He once defended Earthrealm from the Netherrealm armies of Shinnok and Quan Chi." "Scorpion will pay for this!" Cyrax stated. "Sub-Zero's fate is his own doing." "His own doing?!" "The Lin Kuei have a history of making ruinous choices. Such as the Cyber Initiative." Cyrax turned around and responded, "I am among those speaking out against the Grand Master's plan. Surgically transform the Lin Kuei into glorified robots? It kills our intuition. Our instincts." "Did you speak out against the Lin Kuei's participation in this tournament?" Raiden asked. "We were invited by Shang Tsung. He promised us free hotel reservations with free room service." Cyrax said. "He pays you to kill Earthrealm warriors." Raiden said, crossing his arms. "Betraying your own realm? I expect better. Even from an assassin." "My loyalty is to the Grand Master." Cyrax defended, walking out of the throne room. "Victory for Shang Tsung means the end of Earthrealm. And the Lin Kuei." Raiden warned. Cyrax took one glimpse at Raiden, the Mane 7, and Spike before leaving. Twilight looked at Raiden and asked, "Who's Shinnok?" While Cyrax was still walking, Baraka was watching him.
Chapter 4: CyraxCyrax walked from Shang's throne room to the pit. As he kept walking he heard footsteps approaching. He turned around to see Baraka and Sheeva. "What are you doing?" he asked. "I'm not here to fight you. I'm assigned to kill Johnny Cage." "Shang Tsung no longer has need of you." Sheeva remarked. "What do you mean?" "He is terminating your agreement. And you!" Sheeva jumped so high, she went off the screen and was about to crush Cyrax, who uppercut her before she hit the ground. The process repeated until Sheeva was out cold. Cyrax looked at her and said, "I need to have a talk with your master." Baraka ran to Cyrax. "This fight is not yet over!" "You mean to finish me? You couldn't even stop the actor!" Baraka tried to ram into Cyrax, but he jumped to avoid the Tarkatan general Cyrax kept going until Baraka was down for the count. "Now this fight is over." Cyrax knew Sheeva was telling the truth. "Shang Tsung has turned on me. I need to find out why." At the courtyard, Cyrax opened the door, seing Shang Tsung, The Mane 7, and Sektor, talking and laughing. Cyrax looked at Raiden, who nodded at him. While Sektor and Shang Tsung were talking, Cyrax said to the red clad ninja, "Sektor, we need to talk. Our host tried to have me killed." "You were speaking with the other thunder god." Shang stated. "Your indiscretion has jeopardized my plan." "Cyrax is Lin Kuei." Sektor responded. "He will complete his task." "We shall see. The next match will be Cyrax... versus Johnny Cage!" After his announcement, he levitated to his chair. Rainbow Dash looked at Johnny and said, "Aw, yeah! Go get him!" "What, me? All right then." He walked to the arena. Twilight looked at Johnny and said, "Good luck, Johnny." Across from his opponent, the actor said, "Not everyone gets to rumble with a celebrity. Ready for your beat down, Sunshine? Here it comes!" Cyrax kept hitting Johnny with bombs, and finished thefight with a buzz saw. "That should shut you up." Cyrax said as he walked to Johnny and grabbed his neck, picking him up in the process. "Finish him!" Shang Tsung said in the background. The Lin Kuei assassin hesitated from the sorcerer's words, and he looked at Raiden, who shook his head. The Mane 7 and Spike were scared to see Johnny die. "I won't kill him!" He dropped Johnny back to his feet. The ponies sighed with relief. Cyrax left while Sektor watches him with a death glare. In the gardens, Sektor found Cyrax, his face was full with disappointment. "You were commanded to kill Johnny Cage." Sektor said to Cyrax. "You disobeyed." "Correction: I eliminated him from the tournament. He didn't need to die." Cyrax stated. "You have broken your oath." "I used my judgement!" "The Cyber Initiative will eliminate insubordination." "We are not machines, Sektor. I chose to serve the Lin Kuei. But I will not surrender my free will!" The two Lin Kuei fought. Cyrax trapped Sektor in a net and kept hitting him until he was defeated. Cyrax looked at Sektor and said, "Tell the Grand Master I am finished." Sektor watched in shock as he glared at Cyrax. "No one leaves the Lin Kuei..." Cyrax kicked Sektor, threw his Lin Kuei ID card on the ground, and walked away. Starlight walked up and grabbed the ID card. "Cyrax--" She tried to talk. "Leave me alone, Starlight!" Cyrax yelled.
Chapter 5: Liu KangFour guards were walking towards Shang Tsung in this throne room with a mysterious person in the middle. The Mane 7 and Spike were confused, but Trixie let out an evil grin. "Kombatants!" Shang called out. "Chrissy and I present this latest creation of Shao Kahn! He is many warriors, their souls fused into one being. Behold... Ermac!" Ermac started to show off his power. Johnny and Jax were surprised, Rarity let out a high pitched scream, Trixie was amazed, and Kano chuckled. Raiden looked at Liu Kang. "Be wary, Liu Kang. He is unlike anything you have fought before." "Liu Kang!" Shang announced. "You are the sole Earthrealm warrior to progress to this final stage of the tournament!" "I am ready." Liu said. "We are many. You are but one. We will destroy you." Ermac said. Ermac lifted Liu up with souls and threw him onto the ground. Liu hit his opponent with fireballs, both high and low. Eventually, Ermac was defeated and Liu said, "Earthrealm will not fall into your master's hands." Everyone left the room, except for Kitana, who walked up to the shapeshifters and said, "He is a greater threat than anticipated. I will ensure he does not reach the final challenge." "I hope so." Shang told her to make sure of what she said. At the garden, Liu was flexing his pectorals and stretching his arms, when Raiden said, "Remember Bo' Rai Cho's teachings. For my vision to be realized, you must not let emotion overpower you. I've seen our first movie and it was a rip off of Enter the Dragon." "Your visions." Liu said. "What causes them?" "My future self sent them to me. Perhaps to ensure some outcome." "Or to prevent one." Liu said. Raiden experienced another vision, and it was him before he died. "He must win. Those are my last words before I die. I belive it is you who must win." He showed his amulet to Liu. "This amulet was forged by the Elder Gods. It cracked here in the present after my first vision. If we choose wisely, the future will be secured and the cracks healed." Raiden said, putting it back on. "I trust you will make the right decisions." "We must trust in the Elder Gods, Liu Kang." Raiden said as he teleported, leaving Liu to continue training. Just then, Kitana walked up to him and attempted to fight him, but he avoided her attacks until she threw punches at the Shaolin monk, but he caught the fists. "You're good! Show me more." "Do not underestimate me, Shaolin." Kitana threw her fans at Liu, who jumped to avoid them, and hit her with flying dragon kicks, fireballs, and attacks from the dragon stance. Liu defeated Kitana and said, "I am impressed." "Do it." Kitana said. "Do what?" "Kill me." Liu got on his knees. "Why would I do that?" "I came to kill you. I failed my father. My emperor." Liu was surprised. "Shao Kahn is your father?!" "I have disgraced him. You must kill me." "I will not. This encounter never took place. You have disgraced no one." Liu got up and walked away before looking back at Kitana. "I hope we meet again. Under different circumstances." Liu continued to walk. It was nighttime at the courtyard as Raiden, Liu Kang, and Kung Lao arrived. "Kombatants!" Shang announced. Only one Earthrealm warrior remains. The Shaolin Liu Kang. Is he ready to bear such a heavy burden? Earthrealm's fate is in his hands. You will fight alongside Twilight Sparkle!" Twilight teleported next to Liu. "We have to win this for Earthrealm." The princess of friendship told him. "Your opponent will be... Scorpion!" Scorpion emerged from fire once again. "I do not fear you, demon." Liu stated. "Fighting with Scorpion... the sorcerer Quan Chi!" The albino sorcerer walked out of a portal. Twilight looked at Quan Chi and said, "No evil sorcerer is a match for the magic of Friendship." "You have already lost." Scorpion told the two before fighting. Liu Kang kept hitting Scorpion with fireballs while Twilight and Quan Chi shot magic at each other. Eventually, Scorpion and Quan Chi were out. Liu looked at them and said, "As I said, I do not fear you. I pity you." They walked up to Raiden. The Thunder God looked at the two and said, "You have fought well. But the tournament is not yet over." "Goro." Liu said. "What's a Goro?" Johnny asked Sonya, who shrugged her shoulders. "Liu Kang..." Shang announced. "it has been years since an Earthrealm warrior has progressed this far. But the reigning champion is far beyond your ability. His new 'Magic Reflect' will obliterate you, Twilight Sparkle!" "What do you mean 'Magic Reflect'?" Twilight said confused. Liu breathed carefully, remaining calm. "To the Lair with both of you!" Shang said as a portal opened beneath Liu and Twilight. The two fell into the portal before Twilight got to use her magic to close it. Twilight realized she had wings and landed on the ground on all four hooves. She used her magic to teleport a pillow under Liu, who landed safely on it. "Thanks for the pillow, Twi." Liu said. "You're welcome." Twilight said back. The two looked around. "I did not expect to fight in this tournament." Twilight and Liu turned around to see Goro. "But eventually, even the Shaolin produce a warrior worthy of a Shokan." Liu Kang was ready to fight. "I know who you are! I am ready for you!" Goro said to the two, "I will give you both a warrior's death." Twilight shot magic at Goro, but Shang was right. He reflected her magic back at her. Liu and Twilight eventually defeated Goro. The Shaolin monk looked at the dragon monster and said, "It seems the Shaolin trained a warrior greater than a Shokan." He looked at Twilight. "Goro was the defending champion. No one has ever defeated him, until now." A portal opened above them. The two looked up. "Let's go!" In the throne room, everyone was silent, until Liu and Twilight emerged from the portal. "Shang Tsung! Queen Chrysalis! Only one fight remains! Face us... in Mortal Kombat!" "So be it." Liu and Shang shot fireballs at each other while Twilight and Chrissy fought hoof to hoof. Eventually, the two shapeshifters combined their powers and transformed into a two headed dragon. Liu Kang hopped into Twilight's back as she flew off and Liu landed on their back. Twilight and Liu smacked the dragon's heads together as they fell and turned back to normal. Liu looked at the defeated shapeshifters and said, "Say it!" Shang got up and said, "I... I concede." Chrissy held out a white flag. "Yeah!" Sonya and Nightwolf said. "Yee-haw!" Applejack said. "Well done, my friend." Lao admitted. "He has saved Earthrealm." Raiden said as an abundance of light appeared from above, and everyone went to the champion. "That was awesome, Liu Kang!" Sonya said. "Congratulations.” Nightwolf smiled. "Way to go, kid!" Jax complimented. "Aw, yeah!" Rainbow Dash high-fived Liu. "MVP, baby!" Johnny said. As the Earthrealmers cheered for Liu, the Outworlders walked to the bright portal, Shang Tsung heading out first. Kitana looked at Liu before she walked through the portal. Raiden walked up to Liu and Twilight and bowed in respect. Liu and Twilight smiled. Liu nodded while Raiden looked at his amulet. It made a mystical sound and it cracked again, surprising him, the Mane 7, and Spike. At Shao Kahn's throne room, Shang and Chrissy was on their knees surrounded by Trixie, Reptile, Baraka, and Kitana. "Unbelievable!" Shao Kahn said as he was angry at the shapeshifters. "You failed me! 500 years I have waited for this moment! Now I must wait 500 more! Do you know how many movies I had to watch to pass the time?! 312 million!" Shang looked at the emperor. "My lord! All is not lost!" Shao Kahn walked to his throne and said, "Curse the Elder Gods and their tournament! I should have taken Earthrealm by force! But I am bound by their rules." Shao Kahn sat on his throne. "Rules that cannot be broken." "My lord!" Shang pleaded. "Please give us another chance!" Chrissy pleaded as well. "Kill them." Shao Kahn commanded, Baraka and Reptile grasping Shang's arms and Trixie holding Chrissy still while Kitana prepared her weapons to finish them. "But what if the rules were changed?" Shang Tsung asked. “Hmmm... I like that idea... but it’s not good enough!” Shao Kahn yelled at them. ”What if we had dark magic on our side?” The changeling queen asked. "Kitana!" he said to his daughter, the princess looking at him all concerned. "Continue...” At the Wu Shi Academy, Shaolin warriors and the remaining Earthrealmers and ponies watch as Liu and Twilight walk up to Raiden, and they bow to each other in respect. Raiden took the medals and put them on Liu and Twilight. Everyone behind the two cheered and clapped. Pinkie Pie stood up and said, "This calls for a victory party!"
Chapter 6: JaxEveryone was having a good time at the victory party, except Raiden, Jax, and Big Macintosh who were outside. Raiden looked at his amulet and said, "That's weird. I do not understand why my amulet is further damaged. He must win... if not Liu Kang, then who?" Jax looked at Raiden. "Ya got me... Not sure anyone coulda done what he did. Made Shang Tsung and Queen Chrysalis look like a pair of chumps. Right, Big Mac?" Big Mac looked at the two and said, "Eeyup." "Here to congratulate us on our victory, sorcerer?" Raiden said as he, Jax, and Big Mac turned around to see Shang Tsung, who was wearing an entirely different outfit, and younger. "What? Shang Tsung?!" Jax said. "You have been revitalized, I see. I didn't realize your master was in the habit of rewarding failure." Raiden said. Pinkie and Twilight walked onto the balcony and looked at the sorcerer. Twilight said, "Shang Tsung? What are you doing here? We didn't invite you to our victory party! Your name isn't on the list, so you aren't allowed. Now get out before I tell the others!" "The emperor has an offer, Raiden." Shang announced. "A new tournament." Raiden looked at Shang. "Psssh. I see no reason to participate in any plan of yours." Twilight added, "Yeah. Liu and I just kicked your butts, and now you want a rematch?" "The Emperor proposes a single tournament, to replace the current system of ten." Shang explained. "It will be held in Outworld. If Earthrealm does not win, Outworld will absorb it AND Equestria. But if Earthrealm wins, Shao Kahn will abandon is claim to it... forever." "Give your emperor my regards." Raiden told him. Twilight Sparkle said, "Buck off, Shang!" The rest of the Mane 7 agreed with Twilight. Shang grew angry and said, "Big mistake, everypony." Fire appeared on Shang's arms as he extended them. A portal opened up with a bunch of Tarkatans coming out. Raiden and the Mane 7 got into a fight with Shang, while Jax jumped off the ledge. He defeated three Tarkatans, and two more punched him in the face, he fell over and was knocked out with a kick to the face. Jax started to regain consciousness. "He gained a momentary advantage during our kombat and escaped. I now realize what we must do." said Raiden. Applejack looked at Jax and said, "Hey! Looks like he's wakin' up!" A grey pegasi stallion that looked like a mare named Ed Plus and an orange unicorn mare named Cordelia with cutie marks that look the same but have different colors have arrived. Ed looked at the fighters and said, "Hey, everypony. Sorry we're late." Jax got back up and said, "Anybody get the number o' that--" He stopped and looked around to see Sonya wasn't present. "Wait. Where's Sonya?" Applejack was confused, too. "I don't know. Wasn't she at the victory party?" "Shang Tsung and Chrissy have taken her." Raiden answered. "We gotta find her." Jax told everyone. "We must follow them!" Kung Lao responded. Raiden stated, "Shang Tsung has made it clear that both Earthrealm and Equestria will be constant threats unless I agree to a new tournament." Raiden had a vision of Liu Kang killing Shao Kahn. "Another vision?" Jax wondered. "Yes." Raiden explained. "I saw Liu Kang win the proposed tournament. I belive we must attend. But my earlier vision of your victory over Shang Tsung and Queen Chrysalis was not the solution I sought. Therefore, this premonition shows an event that I need to change. Perhaps 'He must win' refers to another." Discord magically appeared behind Raiden and said, "You should have seen the look on Jax's face when he woke up. Priceless!" Twilight looked at the dragonquus and said, "Discord, this is serious. We need your help to win this tournament. We can't let Shao Kahn merge Earthrealm with Outworld AND Equestria." "Hear me, Elder Gods! I accept the terms proposed by Shao Khan!" Raiden said as a golden light shone down on him. "We go to Outworld." In Shao Kahn's throne room, the emperor was greeted with Goro, who presented a yin-yang object to Shao Kahn. He gave it back to Goro, who put it in a chest which he and Sheeva moved out. Raiden, Johnny, Jax, Ed, Cordelia, Discord, the Mane 7, and Spike were looking at Shao Kahn and his minions, who didn't notice them. "I assume that's the big man himself." Jax said. "I can almost think of him ripping my jaw in half!" Spike said in fear. Ed had a happy look on his face and said, "He kinda reminds me of John Cena." "The wrestler guy with the cowskull on his head?" Johnny Cage asked. "And why aren't the Kung Fu Twins here helping us?” "I sent Liu Kang and Kung Lao to free their Shaolin masters." Raiden answered. "I expected Sonya Blade to be here with Shang Tsung." "She better not have a scratch on her." Jax said in anger as he walked forward. "Wait! They'll see us! This is a tournament!" Raiden warned him, blowing their cover. "Ah, the Earthrealm delegation has arrived." Shang said besides Shao Kahn. "And we have a volunteer for first kombat!" "Wait, what?" Jax was confused. "The tournament will begin... NOW!" Shao Kahn announced. The tarkatan army roared in cheers. "Jackson Briggs!" Shang called out. "You will face... Baraka!" The tarkatans applauded for Baraka as he stepped up with his blades out. "Damn you ugly." Jax called out. "My blades will find your heart!" Baraka said before he shot sparks at Jax. Jax hit the tarkatan general with a ground pound, launching him into the air where he was uppercut, and eventually he was defeated. Jax looked at him and said, "You shouldn't be running with those." He walked up to Shang. "Where's Sonya?" "Tell me, Major Briggs... do you and she do anything than rescue one another?" Shang asked. Ed was angry. "You tell us where she is right now, or I'll-" "SILENCE!" Shang demanded. "Your next opponent will be--" Shang was about to announce the next opponent, but was interrupted by Reptile. "What is it?" The creature whispered something in the sorcerer's ear. "Excellent. It seems I have a pressing matter to attend to. With the emperor's permission, we will reconvene later." Everyone except the Earthrealmers and Equestrians left. "What was that all about?" Jax asked. "I think we should follow 'em." Cordelia and Ed looked at each other. "Good idea." Raiden had a vision of Sonya chained up and throng to escape. "You okay?" Jax asked. "Sonya Blade... she is to be executed. My powers compromised here in Outworld, bio I will be able to transport us near enough to her.” Everyone left the throne room and found themselves in the armory. "Maybe you could try for even nearer next time?" Johnny asked Raiden. "Where are we, anyway?" "I will inform you the instant I know." Raiden said. "Man, Shang Tsung's island sure is confusing." Ed said. "You said it, Ed." Cordelia replied. "I wish this damn tracking device worked in here." Jax tried to get reception. "This is just like my movie 'Time Smashers,'" Johnny mentioned. "Where we were goin' around—" "Give it a rest, will ya?" Jax remarked. "Makin' my ears hurt." Johnny paused. "So what's the deal with you and Sonya, anyway? She's smokin' hot!" Johnny wondered. "It's not like that. I'm her C.O." "Honey like that, under my command? Oh I'd be so—" "You'll wanna stop talking now." "But if it's not like that, then you won't mind if I—" "That's it!" Jax exclaimed. "Time somebody shut you the hell up!" Twilight teleported in front of Jax. "Jax, stop it!" Jax was angry now. "Two against one, why the hell not?" With that, Jax plunged forward and punched Johnny in the face and kicked Twilight in the flank until they were beaten. "How do you like that, Mr. A-List?" "HEY! Save your fight for the tournament!" Rainbow Dash declared them to stop. "You're right." Jax sighed. "Sorry, Dash." Twilight apologized. "Enough!" Raiden scolded, walking to the major. "Jackson Briggs. You will restrain yourself." "Yeah well, I—" Before Jax could continue, Raiden motioned him to be quiet. "Someone approaches." "Good. Maybe somebody else needs their ass whooped." He walked up to Jade, while Johnny and Twilight got back up. "You lookin' for somethin'?" "The Armory is restricted. You will leave now." Jade ordered. Jax shook his head and said, "You're gonna have to ask nicer than that." Jade and Jax fought until she snapped his elbows. "Come on! I was gonna go applebucking with Big Mac!" Jax got angry and used an X-ray on Jade, defeating her. "Wrong place, wrong time, lady." Jax said. Johnny walked up to Jax and Twilight. "Feel better?" Johnny asked. "Uh, listen, Cage—" "Don't worry about it. Guess we know where we are now, thanks to her." "Yes," Raiden agreed. "And where we must go." Raiden headed off while Jax did so too. "Let's do it." he responded to the Thunder God's words, following him. "Um... um..." Johnny stammered not sure of what to do. "Come on, Cage!" Jax said from afar. Twilight grabbled the actor with her magic. In Dead Pool, creatures were playing a game which is like dice, but there was a lot of cheering involved. Watching them is Sonya and the Shokan Sheeva, the former being tied up. "What is it with you Shokan and underground cesspools?" Sonya asked. "If you haven't dishonored yourself by attempting escape, we would not be in this sewer." Sheeva told her. From afar, everyone found her. Johnny yelled, "Sonya! We're coming!" gathering Sheeva's attention. "Guards! Stop them!" Sheeva commanded. Jax glared at the actor. "So much for the surprise attack..." Jax told Johnny. The door behind them closed. "Well, what else could we have done?" Ed questioned. Johnny and Raiden got into a fighting stance and waited for incoming foes, but Jax seems to take care of their job pretty well, making one of the guards fall into the acid with the weapon he took from his now dead opponent. Applejack knocked the rest on the guards into the acid with their own weapon and said, "Ooh! This could come in handy!" "She is the emperor's property, human." Sheeva announced. "She's nobody's property." Jax reflected Sheeva's fireballs back at her. Sheeva jumped in the air, and tried to land on Jax, who uppercut her before she could hit him. "I guess extra arms don't make a difference." Jax said. Sonya watched her C.O. heading towards her and said, "You sure have a way with women." Jax looked up at the blonde and picked her up, gently placing her down once the anchor was away from her. "You know me. I'm a class act." Pulling out a knife, the major cut the rope while Johnny and Raiden walked forward. "Thanks." Sonya said. "What took you so long?" "He was busy hitting me in the face." Johnny answered. Sonya checked her wrist computer. "That's weird... I've got two sets of readings... heavy tech signals... both of 'em." Jax checked his wrist computer, which was still not working. He said, "What? How come yours is working but mine isn't?" Twilight looked at the two and said, "Well, now I'm REALLY confused." "Technology..." Raiden trailed, crossing his arms. "Then they cannot be of Outworld. We need to confront the source of each signal. We might discover the one whose victory I must insure." "Wait, what about us?" Johnny asked. "What are we? Chopped liver?" Everyone glared at Johnny angrily. "What?" "Perhaps you are right, Johnny Cage." Raiden replied, uncrossing his arms. "You and Applejack, Rainbow Dash, Fluttershy, Ed and Cordelia will stay close to me. Close as a shadow, and twice as silent." "Sonya, you're with me, Rarity, Pinkie, Twilight, Spike, Discord, and Starlight." Jax announced. "Keepin' my eye on you." He walked up to her wrist computer and pointed one of the signals, saying to the Thunder God, "Raiden, looks like you'll wanna teleport yourself about thirty clicks that way."
Chapter 7: SmokeSomewhere in Outworld, two ninja were on shore. One was wearing grey, and the other was wearing clothes that looked like Sub-Zero's. "We should stay together, Tundra." The grey one said. "Assuming your brother's identity will certainly draw attention. Not all of it welcome." "You are right, Smoke." said the blue one. "But assuming Bi-Han's identity is the best way to honor him." "Let us proceed then, Sub-Zero." "We should separate. Our fellow Lin Kuei will not be far behind once their absence is discovered." "If only they had been more forthcoming with the details of your brother's demise. We will find Shang Tsung. He will tell us all he knows." "If he killed Bi-Han, he will die. Be stealthful as the night..." "...and deadly as the dawn." Smoke said as Sub-Zero walked away. "The emperor was wise to send me here." a voice said. Smoke turned around to see Kitana. "The Lin Kuei do walk uninvited in his realm." "Wise though your emperor might be, he was very foolish to send his housemaid to interfere with Lin Kuei business." "I am no housemaid! I am Kitana, Princess of Outworld! And I deal harshly with sharp-tongued intruders like you!" Smoke turned invisible, confusing Kitana. Smoke kept hitting Kitana. Eventually, she threw her fans at him while he was shaking and teleported into the air, landing on her. Once she was defeated, he said, "Where there is smoke, there is fire." He looked at his opponent. "Sleep well, princess." In the Living Forest, Smoke found Kano, Dr. Caballeron, and Shang with bazookas. Kano laughed and said, "With a whole army tootin' these, no one in Earthrealm, Outworld OR Equestria could stand up to you." "Well done." Shang said as he was impressed. "You may tell your fellow Black Dragon that I am very interested in your merchandice." Dr. Caballeron held a necklace with a black gem around it. He told Shang, "With this, nothing magical will be able to touch you." "You done well, Caballeron." Shang announced. "Shang Tsung!" Smoke called out. Shang and Kano noticed this. "I'll take care of him." Kano said putting the gun away. "No charge. One dead Lin Kuei... in a tick." Kano threw knives at Smoke, who teleported into the air, landing on him after every hit. Eventually Kano was defeated. Smoke looked at him and said, "Stay down." He turned to Shang. "I would have words with your associate. Tell me what you know of Sub-Zero's death." Reptile turned visible and appeared behind Shang who morphed into Sub-Zero. "What?" "Despite his failure at my tournament, I'll wager he was far more powerful than you, Lin Kuei." Shang responded. "Ha! Assuming his form will not give you his skill, shapeshifter." "Let us see if smoke can freeze." Shang tried to hit Smoke with iceballs, but he dodged every one. Shang stayed in his current form and was beaten up real good. Afterwards, Reptile began to attack Smoke, who turned invisible as well as Reptile. They both punched each other at the same time, and turned visible. After they were defeated, Smoke said, "Now answer me!" Shang turned back to normal. "What do you know of Sub-Zero?" Before he could talk, he Smoke received a slap to the face. "Very funny, Reptile." Smoke was not amused. Reptile was confused. "What? I didn't slap you." Smoke was even more angry at Reptile. "What?" They kept arguing until Smoke yelled, "If you didn't slap me, THEN WHO DID?!" "Smoke!" A mysterious voice said. The mysterious hitting continued. "Gotta go!" Shang said as he and Caballeron teleported away with the weapons. Just then, Sektor- who was now a cyborg- turned visible and said, "You have disobeyed the directive to remain at the Lin Kuei temple." "Sketor?!" "You will return with us to begin your transformation." "You actually did it... you're a cyborg!" "We are the Lin Kuei. More stealthful than the night... more deadly than the dawn!" The two fought. Smoke kept teleporting and juggled Sektor with uppercuts until Sektor has a quarter health left. For that time, used an X-Ray on him. As the cyborg fell, Smoke told him, "I will never submit! NEVER!" As he began to walk away, he was surrounded by an army of cyborgs who began to turn him into a cyborg. Just then, Raiden, Johnny Cage, Applejack, Rainbow Dash, Fluttershy, Ed and Cordelia appeared. "There is great energy nearby." Raiden told them. "Um... Rai-dude..." Johnny got his attention. Raiden had a vision of Smoke becoming a cyborg. "No." Raiden said. "They must not take him." He electrocuted all of the cyborgs, knocking them out, as Sektor turned invisible and escaped. The 7 walked up to Smoke. Smoke got on his knees. "Thank you Lord Raiden. I am called Smoke." He stood backup again. "Why are you here in Outworld?" "To participate in a tournament to save Earthrealm and Equestria. Join us, Smoke." "Forgive me, but if Sektor was searching for me, he is hunting Sub-Zero as well." "Sub-Zero?" Johnny Cage asked in confusion. "Call me crazy with a K... but didn't we see him die?" "The Grand Master plans to turn every Lin Kuei into a cyborg." Smoke explained. "My friend is in danger." "The tournament." Raiden remembered. "I have a feeling your friend will be there." "Then let us go." Smoke said. "Sub-Zero's soul depends on it." "What about the others?" Rainbow Dash wondered. "We'll meet them at the Coliseum. Let's go!" Ed Plus said.
Chapter 8: Sub-ZeroAt the Soul Chamber, Sub-Zero has finished freezing two people who failed to defeat him. "It is a pity you could have not cooperated." He looked to see Cyrax walking towards him. "You are ordered to return to the Lin Kuei temple for assimilation." "Cyrax!" Sub-Zero said in shock. "I am Lin Kuei Unit L-K-4-D-4. You will come with me." "I am sorry for what they did to you... but I will not comply." Sub-Zero began to ice slide at Cyrax and put the hurt on him real good until he was beaten. Sub-Zero then said, "I will face the Lin Kuei when my task is done, not before." Cyrax then disappeared to reveal Sonya, Jax, Rarity, Pinkie, Twilight, Spike, Discord, and Starlight. "The readings were getting stronger and now they're gone. I--" Sonya was surprised to see Sub-Zero. "Sub-Zero?! But... you're dead!" Twilight was shocked. "That's impossible! We saw your skull and spine! How did you survive-?!" "I am not the Sub-Zero you speak of." Sub-Zero explained. "He was my brother." "Your... brother?" Sonya asked. Pinkie was excited. "Ooh! Ooh! Was he single?" "Sorry, Pinkie." Her smile turned into a frown. "I am only here to learn Sub-Zero's fate." His brother explained. Sonya looked at Jax and said, "He was killed by someone named Scorpion." "Where would I find him?" "Try the Coliseum. That's where--" Sonya was interrupted by souls coming out of the mouth and they heard a voice. "You have disturbed our regeneration process." the voice said. Ermac emerged out of the mouth. "Ermac." Jax said, walking up to him, grabbing him by the throat. Before he could land a punch, Ermac used his other hand to telepathically grab Jax's right hand, spread his arms out, and released a strong amount of energy to rip both of Jax's arms off. Jax yelled from the pain, as Ermac pushed him to the ground. "Oh my Celestia! This is not good." Spike was horrified to see this. "Jax!" Sonya used her energy blaster to stop the bleeding. "Stay with me Jax!" Ermac walked up to Sub-Zero and said, "We will break you as well." "Not if I break you first." Sub-Zero stated before fighting. Ermac threw a soul ball at Sub-Zero, who jumped over it. He beat Ermac up when he was stuck in an ice puddle for most of the fight. When Ermac was defeated, Sub-Zero told him, "I remain whole, for now." He walked up to Sonya, who was trying to get in touch with her wrist communicator. "Sonya Blade to Command. Sonya Blade to Command. Do you read?" No response. "Sonya Blade to Command. Do you read?" "You have stopped the bleeding." Sub-Zero told her. "Yeah, but he needs a medic as soon as possible." "I must go to the Coliseum." "But I need your help to-" "There is a portal to the south. You can use it to transport yourselves back to Earthrealm." "Mother f..." Sonya paused to stop herself from swearing in front of Spike. "That portal better be close..." Sonya went to take Jax to the portal. Sub-Zero looked to Twilight and said, "Come with me to the Coliseum. We will meet the rest of your friends there." "If you say so." Twilight began to follow Sub-Zero. At the Coliseum, Kitana was fighting a wrestler, and Sub-Zero, Twilight and her friends walked forward. Twilight walked towards the rest of the ponies. Kitana defeated the wrestler as he said, "I have failed. I deserve death." I have failed my father. You must kill me. Kitana thought of what she said earlier. "Kill him!" Shao Kahn was growing impatient and released a green energy ray the the wrestler, killing him. "Kitana! You will join me." He said as a Tarkatan dragged the wrestler away. "Shao Kahn! I challenge Scorpion, the murder of my brother! You will bring him before me! Right here and right now!" Sub-Zero demanded. "No one makes demands of the emperor!" Shang told him. "Reptile!" The Zaterian walked to the fighting arena and growled. Sub-Zero made an ice clone and Reptile froze when he hit it. When Reptile was defeated, Sub- Zero said, "I would kill you, but that is not my purpose here." Reptile got up. Sub-Zero began to speak, but before he could talk, Trixie teleported onto the arena. "You think you can defeat the Great and Powerful Trixie? Do your worst!" Sub-Zero said, "Your magic tricks don't scare me, Lulamoon." Sub-Zero fought Trixie until she was at half the health. The blue unicorn couldn't help but trap Sub-Zero in a magic box, only to escape and make an ice clone that Trixie hit to get frozen in place. Sub-Zero defeated her with an X-Ray and said, "Your magic tricks are totally cheap." He walked up to the emperor. "Your followers hold you in high esteem, warlord. They fight and die for your amusement. My brother participated in this folley. I do so only to face his killer!" "And you shall." Shao Kahn told him. Quan Chi his hand into a fist, green magic appeared around it, and Scorpion appeared. "What is this?" Scorpion asked. "You are not Sub-Zero!" "I am his family and clan." Sub-Zero answered. "I fight for his honor." "He HAD no honor! And you will die as he did!" Scorpion and Sub-Zero had a sword fight, and Sub-Zero knocked Scorpion's sword out of his hand. Once the sword fight was finished, Sub-Zero emerged victorious and said, "For my brother!" Just as Sub-Zero was about to freeze him, an army of cyber Lin Kuei surrounded the winner. "No! You--" Scorpion escaped, and Cyrax and Sektor appeared. "Who now interrupts the emperor's tournament?" Shang questioned. Smoke, Raiden, Johnny, Spike, and the ponies watched this. Smoke said, "Sub-Zero? No!" "You cannot save him!" Raider said. "Stay here or they will take you as well." "We request that we may return him to our temple for judgement." Sektor stated. "And what do I gain from granting this bold request?" Shao Kahn wondered. "The Lin Kuei's loyalty and service." Cyrax answered as they bowed. "Very well. He is yours." Shao Kahn allowed it. "The flow of time has been changed." Raiden told everyone. "I spared Smoke this fate, only to watch this new Sub-Zero fall." "No! I will not be turned!" the blue ninja said before he was taken away. "Kitana!" Shao Kahn called her daughter. "How is it that Earthrealm ninjas brazenly appear before me when my daughter, Princess of Outworld, was sent to intercept them?" "Father, I--" "Begone!" Kitana walked away. "Continue." Raiden looked at Smoke, Johnny, Spike and the ponies and said, "Kitana's faith is a slender reed, bent before the storm. It can be uprooted altogether..." He began to leave the arena. Johnny followed him. "Sure. Let's go ruin someone else's life." Smoke was depressed about the loss of his friend. Twilight grabbed him with her magic and said, "Come on, Smoke!"

PrologueOnce upon a time, in the land of Outworld, there were evil vultures with bloody beaks. They were feasting on the dead bodies of Earthrealm and Equestria warriors. Kung Lao was trapped by a giant skeleton hand, Scorpion was stabbed by Sub-Zero's ice sword, Johnny Cage had his head cut off, and Baraka got cut in half by Kung Lao's hat before he died. The The vultures were messing with Sonya Blade's dead body, another vulture wanted to feast on her, and the first one flew away. We then see the Pyramid of Argus, where Cyrax, Spike, Nightwolf, Zecora, Sheeva, Snips and Snails, Kabal, Starlight Glimmer, Kenshi, the CMC, Quan Chi, Trixie, Liu Kang, and even the Mane Six were dead. But wait! Raiden's still alive, and he gets knocked to the ground by Shao Kahn. "Where are the Elder Gods, Raiden?" Shao Kahn said before picking him up again. "Their pathetic Mortal Kombat shackles me no longer." Raiden got slapped in the face and Shao Kahn threw him and in slow motion, his amulet, and a locket Princess Celestia gave him both fell on the ground. The amulet cracked, and Shao Kahn snapped the locket in half with his foot. Shao Kahn had his hammer in his hand. "They masquerade as dragons, but are mere toothless worms. I mean, Come on! They do nothing but stare at us all day!" Raiden turned around and was greeted by Shao Kahn's foot stomping his chest. "My venom spreads. My dark magic grows. It is the end of all things. Armageddon." "STOP!" Raiden pleaded. "It is done. ALL of your friends are dead, and those pathetic ponies were no match for my newfound dark magic." Shao Kahn grabbed Raiden with his fist. "Your time has passed." Shao Kahn said before throwing Raiden one last time. "Ages wasted in foolish resistance. Now is the dawn of MY rule." Raiden grabbed his broken amulet and locket. He sat on his knees and began speaking in an ancient language. "Yes, pray to the worms, Raiden. Pray to your wife. As your worlds end." Shao Kahn killed Raiden with his hammer, but not before saying his last words: "He must win!" Multiple scenes from the past occurred, including ones where Raiden was kissing Princess Celestia at a wedding, babysitting Flurry Heart, and events that are most likely to occur in the story. In the past, Raiden witnessed these visions, and Liu Kang was standing next to him. "Lord Raiden, what is wrong?" Liu said. "Strange visions, past memories in Equestria, and in one of them, Shining Armor and Princess Candace-" "CADANCE." Liu corrected him. "Cadance asked me to babysit Flurry Heart... AGAIN." He noticed his amulet was cracked. "Your amulet!" "It is nothing, Liu Kang. The tournament begins." Raider said as he put his amulet back on. Everyone was standing still, Except for Pinkie Pie who was excitedly hopping up and down. An old man is accompanied by 2 females, one wearing blue and the other wearing green. Queen Chrysalis was holding a cup of wine and gave it to him. With a motion of his hands, the spectators sat down. "Kombatants." he said. "I am Shang Tsung! In the coming days each of you will fight." He took a quick sip from the wine. "Some are here of their own volition, others were brought here by chance." The Mane Six, Spike, and Starlight Glimmer all smiled at Raiden, in which Raiden smiled back. One of the fighters, Johnny Cage, who was in a totally different dress code, looked at a blonde named Sonya Blade and said "Hey, beautiful. Johnny Cage." "Good for you." the blonde replied, not meeting him before. "What? 'Massive Strike'? 'Citizen Cage'? 'Ninja Mime'? None of those ring a bell?" "Kano..." the blonde recognized a familiar face. "'Kano'? Wasn't in That one..." Just then a blue pegasus with a rainbow-colored mane known as Rainbow Dash said, "HEY! Down in front! I'm trying to listen to Shang here!" Shang Tsung continued, "You participate in the most important Mortal Kombat in history! This tournament, the tenth after 9 Outworld victories, will determine Earthrealm's fate. If you defeat all of your opponents, you will face one final challenge... me." Johnny Cage laughed in awe. "Ha! That old geezer's the final challenge? They might as well give me the belt right now. They do have belts right?" When Johnny turned around, Shang Tsung was standing right next to him. "What? How did you-" Shang glared at the Hollywood actor. "Appearances can be deceiving."
Chapter 2: Sonya BladeSonya found herself in a tunnel after about two hours of walking. While there's some fire to light her way, she tried her best to sneak in quietly so that she wouldn't disturb anyone else in the lair. With her back to the wall, she whispered loudly, "Jax! Jax! You in here?" Continuing to walk, she found Jax, along with Snips and Snails. "Oh my God." she said. "Run, girl, run..." Jax warned. Sonya gave him a curious look, but a familiar voice was heard from behind. "Ms. Blade," Shang Tsung called out from a few feet away. He and the two guards walked forward. "You do not disappoint! I have been expecting you!" "Let him go! We're not part of your stupid tournament!" Raising his hand, Shang Tsung said to Sonya, "On the contrary. You are very much a kontestant. You will face Sub-Zero, of the Lin Kuei clan of assassins." An ice sculpture broke and it destroyed to reveal Sub-Zero. "Now you will feel death's cold embrace." The assassin said. Once Sub-Zero was down, Sonya looked at him and said, "Done! We're leaving this confusing place!" Raiden then appeared within a flash of lightning. "Stand in my way and I'll kick your—" "A challenge?" Shang Tsung asked. Raiden had a vision of Lui and Twilight smashing Shang and Chrissy's skulls together. "No. You will not be the one to challenge Shang Tsung." "You want some too? Fine by me!" Sonya put up a good fight, and finished him off with an X-Ray. Sonya told Raiden, "Enough of this!" Sonya walked up to Raiden and grabbed him by the shirt, and said to her, "Shield your eyes." "What?" "Shield your eyes." Raiden flashed in a huge luminous light. Sonya protected her eyes while the guards and Shang, and Chrissy were temporarily blinded by the light. Sonya used the free time to use her blaster to destroy the bars and free Jax, Snips, and Snails, placing Jax's arm around her for support. "Jax, come on! We're outta here!" Sonya said as she escaped. "'Bout time..." Jax said.The guards ran after them while Shang and Chrissy casually walked up to the Thunder God. "You aided their escape," he said to Raiden with a glare. "You allowed them to escape," Raiden corrected. "They will not get far." Shang Tand Chrissy left. Outside, Sonya supported her companion to a safe place. Out of all places, she chose the gardens because they were so beautiful, and totally not because of Jax's drag that he was forced to put on. "Come on, Jax! Move it! That's an order!" Her voice was loud for his ears, but he replied, "Oh... So you're in charge now?" On her wrist comm, Sonya began to speak for assistance. "Special Forces Command, this is Sonya Blade! Where's that evac?" "...Blade, they are en route... coming to you..." "Affirmative!" Sonya replied. "Almost home, soldier." "By order of Shang Tsung, no one leaves this island." Said Kitana who, and Jade were standing right behind her. "I don't have time for this!" Sonya said "Outta my way! Both of you!" After the 2 Edenians have fallen, Sonya said to herself, "Sure don't need anymore surprises like them." "Did somepony say, 'surprise'?" Pinkie asked, popping up in front of Sonya. "How are you holding up?" Sonya asked Jax. "I'm fine." Jax said. "So are we." said Snips and Snails. "Liar," Sonya playfully accused him. "After I get you to base, I'm coming back. Kano's still here somewhere." "Your obsession with him is gonna get you killed," Jax warned. "I trusted him." "Yeah, we all did." "But I was the one he used." After Sonya's response, a helicopter was near, and that gave her a hopeful look. "I think our ride's here," she told him. She got up and waved at the helicopter. The pilot noticed this and flew closer to the two, but a huge fireball came and blew up the helicopter, ruining their only chance to escape. Even Pinkie was surprised as ever. "What?! No!" Sonya yelled. A sinister laughter came out of nowhere, and she looked to her right, seeing Shang with a fireball in his hand, and Kano, smiling smug at her. "Damn you!" "You have a challenger. Kano," Shang Tsung announced. Sonya groaned irritably, glaring at her enemy. "Pretty Boy ain't gonna save you this time." Kano said. Sonya Constantly hit Kano in the knees and said, "You're comin' with me!" Walking up to him, she was stopped by a small wall of fire, preventing her from continuing forward. "Kano is not your prisoner," Shang Tsung said to Sonya. The latter sighed, motioning her hand to Jax. "At least help Jax. He needs a medic !" Shang Tsung walked up to her and just laughed evilly. She sighed and said to him, "Bastard." Kano walked passed her with a laugh while Kitana and Jade followed, giving her glares like upper-class women. Sonya shook her head in stress. "There she is!" a familiar voice said. Sonya turned around, to see Johnny with Raiden, Liu and the Equestrian gang. "You all right? Hey, looks like you found 'im ." He saluted to Jax. "S'up, Sarge?" "He's a ma—" Sonya said, but stopped when Raiden walked towards the injured man. "Hey, what are you doing?" she asked the Thunder God, who's hands formed electricity. "It's okay. He's cool." "What the?" the major said curiously, seeing Raiden doing this. "Jax!" Sonya said. "Seriously. He's cool." Sighing for the infinite time, Sonya watched as Raiden's electricity heals up Jax. The latter looked at his arm, seeing the bruises disappearing. "Wow!" Jax said. "That's amazing! I feel better already!" Jax carefully got up, feeling good and new. "Told ya!" Johnny said to Sonya. "Turns out he's a god!" "Thank you... Raiden." Sonya said. "Gratitude is unnecessary." Raiden said otherwise. "I have foreseen events, like memories of my future. They lead me to believe that you are all connected to Earthrealm's fate." "What have you foreseen?" Liu asked. "In my visions, Shao Kahn becomes invincible. He is immune to any kind of Equestrian magic, including the Elements of Harmony. He destroys all life in Earthrealm and Equestria. We will all die. I believe these flashes are a guide to defeating Shao Kahn. But disrupting the flow of time can have serious consequences." "I'm not worried." Johnny commented. "I bet you could win this thing no problem." "Unless directly challenged, I cannot participate," Raiden stated to the actor. "Then why did you face me?" Sonya asked the Thunder God. "Because you wouldn't listen to my warning. If you faced Shang Tsung, you would change the flow of time." "What should we do besides standing around looking pretty?" Johnny asked. "For now, the tournament must run its course." Raiden explained. "All right then. We're with you, Raiden." With a simple nod, the Thunder God stayed still. Rainbow Dash looked at the others and said, "We should probably head back ASAP." everyone agreed.
