Moonlight Grace's Story [PREQUEL]by PopopamAJChaptersThe Moon We KnowThe Dark truthThe New StartJust a Normal GirlThe Moon We KnowMoonlight Grace may look like a normal pony, but she is anything but normal. She has autism and ADHD. These problems have gotten her into trouble on a daily basis her whole life. They are behavioral disorders that cause her to freak out and do some crazy things. However, she was getting better at controlling herself. She was slowly working up to the point where she would behave and be treated like all the other students, with all her friends, family, and most of all, her fourth grade teacher, to support her. When Moonlight and Sugar Rush got home, they were greeted by their mother. She was a short, chubby woman with a dark blue coat and a pink mane matching Moon's. The two children ran up to give their mother a huge hug. She tried to get air but failed and let them hug her. When the kids finally let go, a grey cat with a short tail walked up, clearly happy to see them. Moonlight ran up to pet the cat and he purred. When she finished petting him, Sugar Rush put his hoof forward to pet the him but the cat pulled away. Sugar Rush grumbled and Moonlight continued petting her kitty. "So, how was school?" The mother asked. "Miss Illusion was really mean!" Sugar Rush immediately said. "Oh? How so?" Sugar Rush went on to explain how his teacher was, quote on quote, mean, while Moonlight went to her room. Inside, it was a disaster. There were clothes piled up, covering every inch of the floor but the doorway and reaching up to about a foot and a half high. There were other miscellaneous objects here and there; some toys, some garbage, and some random items found around her house she felt like keeping. It was a huge mess, not to mention a fire hazard, yet she somehow lived there without a problem. Moon looked around her room. She hesitated and walked out, realizing she wasn't in the mood to play by herself with her toys. She opened the door and went across the road to the house of her best friend, Rosabelle Trend. She knocked on the door a couple times, and soon an elderly red mare with an orange mane answered. Within seconds, the same smaller pony she saw at school came running. "Hi, Moon!" She certainly seemed a lot happier to see her friend than before. The filly stepped outside and they immediately started talking. The reason why she was ignoring Moonlight at school was because she was embarrassed to be around her. It sounds mean, but at that time Rose cared a lot more about what other people thought of her, and Moon didn't usually mind because she knew Rose was younger than her and still learning about how friendship works. "Hey Rose, We should totally play dolls again today!" She beamed once more. "Do you wanna do that?" "Actually, let's take a walk instead." Rose answered. Moon smiled at the thought. They would get to see what happens around the neighborhood and talk the whole time, and anything with talking will capture Moonlight's interest. "Sure! Let's go!" The two fillies trotted off. Everything was perfect. Life was perfect, friends were perfect, family was perfect... Moonlight's life could not get any better, and it certainly couldn't get any worse, right? Author's Note I know all my chapters are short and they so far all end the same sorry ;-; I'm running out of transitions... The Dark truthThree Years Later... Seventh grader Moonlight Grace sat on her bed, crying. The thought had just finally sank in; her best friend was moving... Aquamarine may have only been her best friend for a year about, but she was the only one who really connected with her, aside from Sugar Rush. Although this was bad, another thought had hit her: She was slowly losing everyone she cared about, one by one. Most of her friends had moved, Sugar Rush was taken to another family, Gamer Chip had turned spoiled and, worst of all, her favorite creature in the world, her cat Pepper, had died long ago. It wasn't too long after that day she had the walk with Rose. She had many cats afterwards, but two of them died too, three of them were stolen by neighbors, and one had to be given away. There was also the horrible problem of Moon's mother. She had been spoiled too, and, despite Moon's many attempts, she could never figure out her mother's motives. She liked to think it was in her mom's nature, similar to herself in a way. Moonlight's mother had become an abusive parent; always lying and manipulating. Aside her verbal abuse, she manipulated the rest of the family and lied to them to make them think Moon was a horrible pony. Her brother decided to use this to his advantage, not caring about it being clear lies. He also loved to kiss up to his parents so he could pretend to be an adult. Moon's father was naive and believed every word, yet his unconditional love stuck until he had to move far away from the rest of the family for work purposes. Moonlight's mother continued hating on her shamelessly now, with no fear of looking bad in front of her husband. Moonlight had nopony now... She sat in bed, tears running down her face, staring at the wall in shock. Her greatest fear was coming true: She was alone in this world. She then turned angry and punched the wall with her hoof. She often wished she could go back to fourth grade and stay there forever. She wanted to start over. Tears streamed down her face like a waterfall as she thought about the dark truth. She then sat up and began to sing. Missing you every day... Wondering why it had to be this way... I only ask one small thing For a small pat on the back with a wing From you....... I only ask one small thing... It would mean everything To see you again... For now... I have nopony... All I want is to see you one more time... She then sobbed more and whispered to herself, "If only I could see you just one more time..." Author's Note Some of these parts are based off of real things and other parts are not exactly real, but they are a lot like things that really happened, or ideas I've imagined. Basically, it wouldn't shock me much if it all became real. However, it gets less realistic. I also plan to only have one more chapter in this prequel before starting on the main story. You guys try to guess which parts are real; it may surprise you The New StartSuddenly, Moonlight's tears stopped as she looked up. She saw a white light growing brighter and brighter right where she was. Then the room was filled with a flash of light and she blacked out. When she finally woke up, she looked up to see her mother's face, only happy. It was an odd sight to see. Her mother was in awe. However, she had on what looked like a white gown. She raised her hooves only to find them much smaller. She saw herself wrapped in a blanket and she was the size of her stuffed animals. She couldn't believe it. She knew what was happening... "Oh, she's beautiful! Welcome to the world, Moonlight Grace..." Moonlight gasped at this, which startled her mother. She quickly tried to look cute again. She was a baby again, and a newborn one at that. This meant she now had her whole life ahead of her. Then it hit her. She had another chance... She could see the ones she loved once more! She could behave better at school, she could keep her friends from leaving, the possibilities were endless! But first, Moon wanted to show that she was more special than she looked. She wanted to have some fun with her mother. She looked right up and stared at her, before opening her mouth. "Mommy!" She said with a giggle, before closing her eyes to sleep again. Her mother stared in shock. She looked like a peaceful sleeping foal, only she wasn't. She wasn't a foal and she definitely wasn't asleep. She was imagining her new life! It sounded so exciting, so amazing, so much better... Whatever came her way, she would be ready! She couldn't wait for her new life to begin. In fact, it already had... Author's Note Sorry it's so short it's only leading up to the story I will put in another fimfic (in case you haven't noticed yet, this is a prequel) ALTERNATE ENDING: She looked right up and stared at her, before opening her mouth. "NEVER GONNA GIVE YOU UP " (yes I have fantasized about that very thing and it's personally my favorite ending ) Just a Normal GirlDown in Rainbow Falls, bells could be heard around town, followed by the sound of small, fast hoofsteps. It was the sound of schools closing for the afternoon. This was no exception for Rainbow Lakes elementary school. One of the children, a skinny, neon colored, bright blue unicorn with a messy pink mane and yellow streaks, was saying goodbye to her teacher. Her teacher was dark gold with bronze, slightly curly hair in a pixie cut. As they finished, the filly pulled on her saddlebag and skipped off. Her smile and happy gallop was enough to make any random pony think she was just a normal girl. The small pony hopped around excitedly. Ponies called her name left and right and every time she responded with a wave of her hoof and a smile. "Hi Moonlight!" "Hey, Moon!" "Hi, Miss Moon!" She always giggled at her nickname the teachers gave her. She may not have been the only one with a nickname like that, but she liked it. She waved at a magenta filly, much smaller than her, when she passed the portable classrooms. "Hi Rose!" She beamed. The younger filly just looked away and ignored her. She was perfectly fine with this, though, and kept smiling. She was on a dirt road lining the school. When she got to the corner, an adult orange pony was waiting. "Hello, Miss Moon! How are you doing?" "Good, thanks!" She smiled as she continued walking, crossing the intersection on the road. She quickly spotted a green colt with a short gold mane, a similar color as her mane streaks and eyes. He was also skinny, and was shorter than her, indicating that he was younger. She smiled. "Hey Sugar Rush!" She galloped to see her little brother. "Hi, Moon." The colt spoke with less enthusiasm than his older sister. He was a lot less energetic than her usually, but he was also known to get a bit silly at times. The two siblings walked home together and soon were no longer in sight. She was just a normal kid, right? Right? Author's Note Moon is based off of me in fourth grade in this story. She's pretty much just me as a pony, even down to the OC I drew for MYSELF This is only going to be small, since it's only a prequel to the real story I hope to tell. The main story will be less based off of my life and more based off of a fun fantasy and it will be much more interesting. I really do love writing slice of life stuff though, so I plan to have most, if not all the stories I write have at least a little of that. WARNING: It doesn't stay so happy
