-6 weeks later-

“Wake up Shining!” Twilight Velvet shouted at her son as she barged in. Shining Armor woke up yawning and glared at his mom.

“Mom, its Saturday! Why are you waking me up this early?” he asked tiredly as the alarm clock read 8 AM.

“Because sweetie, were going out for a new car… since your father took off with the old one…” she grumbled before tossing him a set of clothes. Nodding tiredly, Shining began getting dressed as Twilight walked to the living room downstairs and looked into the mirror.

“Ok Vel, you got this. You dont need Nightlight. He probably left you for some younger thing, so who needs him?” She muttered to herself as she attempted to fix her purple and white striped hair up into a pony tail. Soon her son walked down in his baggy pants and T-shirt.

“Ready” he said yawning. Twilight nodded, grabbing her purse and together they walked out.

Discord was laying around in his junk yard, reading the newspaper claiming another Big Foot sighting had been spotted. Suddenly he heard footsteps coming up to the stack of junk he was on. Looking up he spotted his friend Shining Armor walk up as an older woman looked around the dump.

“Hey Shining! Whos the good looking woman?” he asked adjusting his hat. Shining looked back and sighed. “My Mom.” he said as Discord frowned.

“Oh, I see…” he said awkward like. Twilight walked up to him still looking around. “Excuse me, um…” “Discord, My Lady…” He said jumping down the pile and taking her hand kissing the top. “what can I help you with today?” he asked seductivly. Twilight blushed as Shining rolled his eyes.

“Twilight Velvet, or Vel, and Im hoping you might have some cars here.” she said as Discord spun around. “Cars you say? Right this way!” He said before sauntering off. Twilight giggled following as Shining begun digging into a junk pile hoping he might find a giant robot.

Pulling a gate back, Discord led Twilight to the back part of the yard. “This is where I store the cars that are still in good shape.” he said showing off his rides. Twilight looked around seeing all sorts of cars, until she came across a yellow voltswagon.

“Hmm, how much for the Voltswagon?” she asked not seeing a price on it. “Ah, the new guy! Im still going over it, but I think $500 and a date with me would be a good deal.” he said smuggly.

Twilight rolled her eyes sitting on the car. “Really now?” she said chuckling. “A man can try, cant he?” he said smirking. “Tell ya what, I just got divorced a few weeks ago. Give me some time, and MAYBE Ill give you a shot.” she said pulling out her check book.

“Works for me!” Discord said as she wrote a check out. “Ya know, I think this car was meant fof you.” Twilight looked up as she finished the check. “How so?” she asked.

“I believe the Driver dont pick the car, but the car picks the Driver. Its a mystical bond between man and machine.” He said patting the cars sun roof. “I see” Twilight said hoping off the car and pulling the check out. “Discord took the check and smiled. “Give me a minute to make you a set of keys.”

Shining couldnt believe the car she bought. It screamed “Im single forever!” to him. But she was smiling at least, so he wasnt complaining. After getting a feel for it, she took her new car out for a spin, dropping him off at the house before going to do some errands. Shining sighed as he dialed up his buddy Flash Sentury.

“uh, Hello?” the other end of the line asked answering. “Flash, you wont BELIEVE what mom just got…”

Twilight smiled as she loaded her cars trunk up as she finished the last of her errands. “Well, least Im slowly getting my life back to normal” she said turning her car on. Almost instantly however her car radio blaired to life screaming “IM SO EXCITED!!! AND I JUST cant wa-” She quickly turned the audio down.

“Ouch, I dont remember leaving you that loud.” she muttered before shrugging and driving home, finding another radio station to listen to. On the way home she stopped for gas noticing the car didnt have alot in the tank. Pulling up to a gas station, she walked inside, unaware that someone was walking up to her car.

“Heh, this will be an easy steal” the crook muttered getting ready to break the window. However, when he slammed his crowbar into, it bounced right off hitting him in the shoulder. “GAH Screw this car!” He muttered and went to look for another car to break into. Twilight came back out unaware of what happened.

Shining looked out the window as his mother pulled into the garage. “SHINING ARMOR COME HELP WITH THE BAGS!” She yelled at him as she got out of the car. However before she turned it off the radio started up again playing what sounded like old charging music as Shining burst into the garage.

“Good selection of music” he said with a chuckle as he opened the trunk. “Wasnt me. I think the radio has a few bugs” she said turning the car off. “Well we can take a look at it after dinner?” He suggested only for them to hear a clang come from under the car. Twilight looked under and sighed. “Looks like it”

Ok, so if anyone finds any thing that needs editing, let me know. My phones keyboard sucks, sometimes hitting the wrong key, or flat out ignores me hitting a key.

Also, ya, these beginning chapters are being short. Cant help it. Not really a Slice of life typer, but dont want to pad it out for sake of making it 10000 words.
