My Little Nightmare

There where once two Alicorns. Both where sisters. The elder sister rose the sun so the little ponies could see and play and the younger rose the moon giving way to night. However as the elder was bathed in attention during the day the younger was shunned as the ponies sleped through her glorious night. The younger seethed with hate but surpressed these emotions. However the younger named Luna was approached by an odd creature when they where both young. His name was Discord the element of Chaos and rightfully so. He was made of all sorts of things. His head was that of a pony with weird mismatched horns and a snaggle tooth. His body was long and slender coate in brown fur. His left arm was that of a griffon's and the right was a lion. His legs where no less disturbing. One was a deer and the other was a lizard's. His tail was a dragon's. He even had mismatched wings. One was a blue bird-like one not to different from Luna's own and the other was a classical bat or dragon shaped wing.

Both played around one another when they where young and naturally feelings for one another more powerful than standard friendship took root. But all of that ... went sour. One day Discord was causing his usual dose of Chaos uppon Equestria. However Discord was being slightly more violant today. He was making it rain not chocolate milk as silly as it seems but the whole damn cow. The older sibling Celestia ordered Luna to have Discord stop his madness. Luna got there and Discord's back was to her. Before she could call his name a cow landed through the roof. It sent shrapnel flying. Discord was howling with laughter but it was drowned out by another howl. One of agony and ... one he recognised was in the voice ... of the one he loved. Discord whipped around and saw Luna on the ground writhing in pain. She had several blades of wood in her side and right wing which sheiled her vitals. Discord rushed up his heart in his throat, bile right behind it. Oh God what did he do? He started removing the hunks of wood trying to cause Luna as little pain as possible. Discord knew some magic sure and he used as much as he knew to help close the wounds but she ws bleeding heavily on the inside. A shadow fell over Discord and blood left his head. Celestia had just landed near him.

"Ah Luna you succ- LUNA!?"

Celestia struck Discord across the face causing him to bleed.

"What did you do to her monster!?"

"I-I-It was an acident!"

"Enough of your lies!"

The white mare of the sun kicked Discord heavily in the chest and flew off carrying Luna. Discord was left in the dust to wollow in his own sorrows.

A few days later Discord arrived at the castle with a boque of 'Im sorry' flowers. As Discord entered Celestia stood near Luna's room almost waiting for him.

"Oh its you Celestia. Im here to see Luna."

"I know Discord. But you are a threat to Luna. I wont let you stay. Say your good-byes to her and go. You are banished."

Discord was broken hearing that. He solumly entered Luna's chamber. The dark blue alicorn was elated to see him. Her right wing and chest where wraped in bandages.

"Discord Im so glad to see yo- ..... what's wrong?"

Discord sat heavily on the corner of the bed and didnt speak. Luna but a hoof on his shoulder concerned.

"Discord Im not mad."

"Luna ... I ... I cant stay. I have to leave."

"Discord!"

"Im sorry. These are for you."

Discord gave her the fowers and exited the room leaving a confused and heart-broken Luna behind. Discord was about to leave but Celestia stopped him.

"Discord ... come with me."

Discord didnt argue knowing it would be pointless and followed Celestia to the throne room.

"Discord I have come to realize that being the spirit of chaos its natural embodyment you are a threat to everyone. You only seem more ... settled around Luna. I want you to stay."

Discord wasnt sure he heard right. But he was so elated completely ignoring the six gems floating around Celestia as well as the malicious smile that had set itself uppon her face.  Discord was happy and leped up onto a small collum wraping his tail around it. He placed his lion paw on his chest and the griffon arm up in the air. His face was in the middle of a big thank you at the moment Celestia used the power of the elements of harmony. As the smoke cleared Discord was solid stone.

A few weeks later Luna roamed the castle and made her way to the guarden still sad her lover was gone. She saw Celestia staring up at something. Luna continued to walk forward and a new statue was revieled from behind the shrubbery that originally blocked it from view. Luna looked at the stature and recognized with horror at the all to familiar features of her lover Discord. Luna was sent into a rage.

"You turned him to stone!?"

"Luna it was for the goo-"

"I dont want to hear it! You where jelious! Jelious that for once someone was finally paying attention to ME and MY night! Everyone else oogles blindly at YOU!"

Luna ran off leaving a dumbfounded Celestia. Luna arrived in her room sobbing and full of hate. Her eyes had taken on a lighter color and where now slitted. Her coat was taking on a darker color and her mouth was filled with razor teeth. She was becoming the creature that would be feared as Nightmare Moon. Luna set her mind. She would kill her. But first she needed armor is she stood more of  a chance. Luna .. no Nightmare Moon began casting spells that would form her armor.

A few days later Celestia hadent heared a peep out of Luna. The moon sank and rose as it usually did. Was Luna really as powerful to lower and rise the moon without looking at it? Celestia would have to chat with her sister. The mare shook her head sad about her sister but decided to go and rise the sun as she usually did. But something was odd today. The moon wouldnt lower. Nor would the sun rise. A feeling of pure horror assulted the goddess. She rushed to Luna's room and slammed open the door. Inside a monster greeted her. The glaring eyes and wicked smile of Nightmare Moon greeted her.

"Hello sister."

The black mare put as much spite as she could into the word sister as if it was the most foul word she could conjure.

"Luna!?"

"I am no longer your harmless tag along but a mare of true power! Luna was weak I am Nightmare Moon!"

Celestia was heart broken. The black mare charged her and slammed into her goring her with her silver hoof protectors. Celestia was covered in cuts from the chest down. She bairly forced the nightmare off of her. Celestia quickly retreated. She would need the elements if she ever hoped to beat the abomination. Celestia soon entered her chambers and stood before the elements. But she was taken by surprise. Nightmare Moon had plunged her horn into Celestia's side. Nightmare was kicked in the face and blood poored out of the gaping hole. The elements responded to Celestia's distress and floated earily around her.

"Dont make me do this Luna!"

"Dont call me that!"

Nightmare in a fit of blind rage attacked using spiral blades fashioned out of the darkness of her mane. The elements automatically set up a barrier blocking her attack. Nightmare was shocked. With her power she should have broken through Celestia's defences like a hot knife through butter. Nightmare just then took notice of the glowing elements. Shock was easily replaced with fear.

"No! No! No!"

Celestia let loose a bolt of hot multi-colored energy that hit Nightmare in the chest. It blasted off a layer of flesh. Blood spurted out of the wound and from her mouth.

"I Celestia ruler of Equestria banish you creature of the night to the moon for the next 1000 years!"

Nightmare was cast through the roof and dissapeared soon after. The moon soon aranged its dark craters into the likeness of an Alicorn head. Celestia sat on her haunches sobbing.

It had been 1000 years since that night and Celestia was in bed just stirring in her sleep. She felt cold as ice despite sweating. She knew someone was with her. Teal eyes and razor teeth gleamed in the darkness. Celestia bolted upright her heart pounding in her head. A dark heavy force decended on her. She soon found she couldnt move. Couldnt breathe! Her life was well as her conscience was fading. But then the shadows receded .. and laughed. Fear bolted clean through Celestia.

"Is that all you could do? I could have killed you right here and now!"

"Luna."

Nightmare Moon growled in a low voice pumped full of every bit of vemon and hate she possessed.

"I told you not to call me that."

Celestia couldnt help but visably shiver.

"Where are the elements?"

"Lost to time. I connot use them but I have others who will! You will be defeated again Luna!"

"DONT CALL ME THAT!"

Nightmare smacked her amored hoof across Celestia's face causing it to split and bleed.

"You are no longer of use to me. I will kill your followers and then kill you."

Nightmare beat into Celestia causing bones to fracture and wet smacking noises to occur due to the pooling blood. Once Nightmare was tired of the thumps made of metal on flesh she tossed Celestia into a room and sealed it with her magic.

Hours later Nightmare Moon stood proud in her decaying castle in the Everfree forest. The petrified Elements of Harmony at her feet and a defeated looking unicorn at her feet.

"You little foal! Thinking you could defeat ME!? You will suffer for your arrogance."

Hate blazed in her eyes. The purple unicorn Twilight was petrified. Hot blood coarsed through her veins. She knew she couldnt fight back nor flee. She would only die slower. But then a wonderful sound hit her ears. It was the sound of her friends comming to her aid. Nightmare rolled her eyes. She tried indirect tactics to eliminate them but now it was time to get her hooves dirty. But the elements at her feet glowed. Fear coarsed through the mare of the moon but she decided to act. Before the elements could rise completely Nightmare dashed forward transforming her body into a shadow spear. It peirced the body of the pink pony. The one that dared giggle at her. Blood poored out of the hole in its chest. Nightmare slid her shadows in and ripped the pony's ribcage wide open before retreating back in her normal form. The element of laughter ceased to glow and crumbled to dust. Somewhere in Celestia's guarden Discord's heart beat once more and a crack grew across its chest. Back at the castle the yellow pony named Fluttershy screetched. The others where shocked. Nightmare Moon recoiled at the yellow one's scream and silanced her next. Fluttershy's scream became a choaked gurgle as Nightmare dug her fangs into Fluttershy's throat. The demon tossed her around like a rag doll. Blood sprayed everywhere coating the ponies as well as the crazed Nightmare Moon. She tossed the body on the white and purple pony Rarity who shreiked in surprise and fear. The blue one with the rainbow mane Rainbow Dash attacked the blood coated demon. Furiously she charged Nightmare Moon. ...... It was to say the least .. a very stupid move. Nightmare easily swatted her out of the air and stomped down on one of her wings breaking it under-hoof. She leaned down and whispered coldly in Rainbow's ear.

"You should have joined my shadow bolts."

Then the orange pony with the cowboy hat Applejack kicked her so hard in the chest it cracked the chestplate slicing the moon on it in half. Nightmare Moon reeled backward and her horn lit with crackling black energy. Applejack attacked again and Nightmare Moon swung her horn slicing Applejack clean in half. The dark energy catterized the wound keeping blood from spillling forth at first but that didnt stop Twilight from wretching as the organs slowly slid out and onto the stone floor. Rarity was now up however. Nightmare Moon wasted no time. She jumped on the hapless pony and bit into her back biting her spinal cord driving the teeth into the bone. The beauty queen screamed and Nightmare yanked her head upward ripping the spine and the skull out from base to tip spraying blood everywhere. At that time a rock pinged off of Nightmare Moon's helm. She slowly turned snarling more like a rabid beast than anything like a pony. She saw it was Rainbow Dash struggling up bairly with the help of a deeply tramatized Twilight. The creature smirked and walked leasurly over. Her clops on the floor where slow, loud, diliberate, and heavy. Nightmare Moon simply kicked Twilight clear across the room and sweped Rainbow Dash's legs out from under her breaking one of her front legs. Both ponies understood. They where completely within her power. But then something good for the ponies happened. A blast of light and Nightmare Moon was on the floor with a gash in her flank and Celestia standing in all her glory.

"What!? How?"

"I broke free. You have gotten careless sister."

"Damn you! Damn you to hell!"

"Care to take your chances? I spent the last 1000 years waiting for you to return."

"Die!"

The mares clashed horns and a blast of energy resulted sending both rearing back. Nightmare again was the first to strike. Her metal hoof slammed into Celestia's cheek cutting it. Then Nightmare grasped the mare by both cheeks and head-butted her sending the crown flying off her head. Celestia disoriented was tossed across the room. She got back up rather quickly and blasted a bolt of white hot energy at Nightmare's hooves bringing her down to the ground. Nightmare responded with her own cheap shot and rushed Celestia after getting back up. Nightmare reared and brought her hooves down where Celestia's head was. Celestia rolled out of the way and Nightmare's hooves cracked the marble. Celestia blasted a bolt of energy in Nightmare's face blinding her. Celestia blasted again at the gash on Nightmare's flank bringing her down. Celestia proceded to kick Nightmare square in the jaw. Nightmare responded to the kick by biting Celestia's ankle and used all the muscles in her jaws, neck, and chest to fling her sister across the room. Celestia got up as fast as Nightmare and both rushed again. Instead of meeting the black marer head on she feinged and slammed her neck into Nightmare's chest forcing her up and off ballance. Celestia blasted her again knocking Nightmare to the grown who cracked her head on the floor disorienting her. Celestia reared up powering her hooves with energy. Nightmare glared up at her coldly.

"Go ahead do it. Kill your sister tyrant."

Celestia hesitated. She knew she should end the monster before her right now but she only saw her sweet innocent sister. The one that cared about eachother and loved eachother no matter what. Celestia was a bout to lower herself untill she saw the deranged smile of pure evil glee set uppon her face. Celestia immediatly was in defensive mode and set up a sheild spell infront of her.   .... She should have set it up behind her. Claws dug into her back making her cry out in pain. The powerful arms of Discord flung the helpless alticorn across the room and into the ajacent wall.

"Hi Lulu. Love the new look."

"Discord!" Celestia coffed up a thick gobbet of blood. "How? This doesnt make any sense!"

"Make sense? What fun is making sense? Four of the elements where destroyed and the two remaining where weak enough for me to escape."

Nightmare Moon grinned maliciously and trotted over to the two terrified ponies and put a hoof on each of their heads almost tenderly in a sick kind of motherly way.

"I like these two Celestia. I think I will let them live as my pets."

Rainbow Dash snorted. "over my dead body."

Nighmare Moon grined and licked her lips in Rainbow Dash's face. Her lower jaw and neck was still dripping blood after being coated. "That can be aranged."

Rainbow thought it wise to say no more. Discord and Nightmare moved to Celestia slowly. They had all the time in the world and they KNEW it. Nightmare grabbed Celestia's right front and rear legs in her jaws and snapped them. Celestia cried out in pain as the fresh sense was added to her pain. She was pulled from the wall her wings ruined. Discord held her in a sitting position.

"Now Celestia I am about to preform the ritual of the bloodied eagle on you."

Celestia was in tears now. "Please sister dont do this."

Nightmare ignored her and cast a new spell on her. Celestia lost all feeling below her neck. Nightmare grinned as Celestia's horrified look deepened. Nightmare ripped off Celestia's chestplate leaving her bare.

"Luna .. please."

Nightmare didnt respond with her words nor rage as she had done before. She simply dug the tips of her hoof guards into Celestia's chest breaking the bridge of her ribcage. Nightmare slowly pulled it open and outward. She grinned evilly and Celestia closed her eyes in horror. Discord propping her up on his knee opened her eyes so she could see what was happening to her. Nightmare gently grabbed Celestia's beating heart in her jaws and yanked backwards. The heart was torn out. But Celestia was not dead .. not yet.

"You know Tia the brain lives on for a few minutes after the heart stops beating."

Nightmare grinned and let Celestia drop to the floor. Soon after a somewhat twisted reunion of Discord and Nightmare by the joining of their tongues they turned and advanced on their new pets. The last thing Celestia saw was Discord and Nightmare advancing on the two frightened ponies who would tell what the new king and queen of equestia had done and the rise of their eternal night and chaos.
