It was a normal day in the Ponyville library, the only sounds in the building were the noise of book pages as Twilight Sparkle read on a book about dimensional portals for items of another world. After continuing the search for more to study on, she came across what she was looking for. Writing down some notes she sets off on a search for her assistant Spike. He had been out earlier that day to help Rarity search for more gems for her dresses.
Upon walking out the door Twilight notices Spike running down the street carrying a big stack of gems in his arms. He was running after Rarity. Twilight teleported to catch up with the duo and get their attention. “Spike, after you’re done helping Rarity with her gems, I need your help as my number one assistant.” She tells Spike as he gives a nod of acknowledgment.
Walking away from Spike and letting him get back to Rarity, Twilight trotted over to the local cafe that was just opening up for the mid-morning rush. Upon entering, she walks to the counter and orders a cup of coffee as well as a few bagels to snack on. After enjoying the snacks she purchased, she heads back out. Back over to the Golden Oak Library. When she walks into the library she sees Spike on the couch reading his comic books.
“Thank you for coming back Spike. I need to send a letter to the princesses right away about what I’ve found. I think I could figure out what the spell is, and hopefully grab an item from a different universe to show them!” Twilight gets even more excited as she continues her explanation. Spike just sits kind of confused, then nods and grabs a scroll and quill to begin writing for her.
“Okay Spike, here is what I want on the letter. ‘Dear Princess Celestia, it’s your faithful student. I have Spike writing for me to tell you I have found something amazing and I think I could pull it off, successfully bringing an object from another universe. I plan to try it later tonight if you could make it over here. Your student, Twilight Sparkle.’” After spike finishes up the letter, he sends it on his way with his magical dragon fire, the letter fading off into the distance so it reaches Celestia.
After pacing around for what felt like an eternity but was actually only twenty minutes, Spike burps up a letter and gives it to Twilight. Taking it excitedly from Spike and opening it up, she reads it. She frowns, then smiles at what's written in the letter. “Twilight, what does the letter say?”, Spike asks curiously. Twilight gives the letter to Spike to read over. It says that neither of the princesses can make it, but to try the spell and give feedback on what she finds.
“I would go and get the girls but I think everypony is busy so I’ll leave them alone for now and get to testing the spell, what do you think Spike?” Spike isn’t paying attention anymore. He is already reading his darn comic books again. Oh well.

‘A few hours later’
Twilight is sitting on her couch preparing everything that she needs for the spell. Putting down the proper items in the proper spot, drawing the write graphs and circles with chalk on the floor. Checking the book one last time to make sure everything is in the right place, rereading the directions and memorizing the words to be said to summon an object. Giving herself a nod of approval she starts to chant the words. “yrja tati lakayin qadim”
Everything around her starts shaking as the spell is provoked. Books fall off the shelves and the clatter of plates and other dishes can be heard in the background. The shaking slowly stops, and a portal glowing all different types of colors appears. More seconds pass as the glow brightens and the portal starts sucking in everything around her, the pull becomes so strong that it slowly pulls her in as well.
Screaming for what felt like hours but in reality was only a short amount of time, Twilight could see furniture and other things falling from the library and through the portal. She tries to correct herself while falling and grabs onto the table floating next to her so she had something to hang onto while she was falling, giving her more security in her situation.
Falling, even more, she finally sees the end of the portal and what appears to be an island way far below her. She sees the land so far away she starts to panic again, not realizing she can use her magic to stop the fall or even teleport to safety. While falling she sees her furniture start to disappear, including her table, which confuses her, and she is once again free falling by herself. The surface of the island approaching, she braces for the worst. Twilight hits the ground and then, nothing. Just… Nothing...

Meanwhile In Ponyville
Everypony in Ponyville could tell that something was definitely wrong at their resident librarians house. The ground had started to shake and most ponies could even hear what sounded like Twilight screaming. The closest pony, who happened to be Rainbow Dash rushed over. Flying as fast as she could dash got there in a mere minute even from across town, even she could tell something had definitely went wrong here.
Rainbow Dash enters the library, many number of books strewn about. Dash was not a pony who got easily concerned but when she saw the library in such a state she knew instantly something was wrong. Looking around for any signs of what happened, she notices a portal disappear with a pop sound. Rainbow now understood what had just occurred was getting ready to take flight when the door opened up again.
AppleJack who had also come running as soon as she felt the quaking, but wasn’t as fast as Rainbow was had just arrived. Applejack who noticed Rainbow Dash getting ready to take flight. “Rainbow what happened here, where's Twi at?” AppleJack question The Prismatic mare.
“AJ now is not the time, we have to get to the princesses. A portal closed as soon as i got into the main room, i think Twilight messed up a spell and it transported her. If i’m fast enough we could get Princess Celestia, She might know of a way to get twilight back” Rainbow responds and not giving Applejack a chance to respond takes off for canterlot hoping that Celestia can help them.
