The Coming Storm

(Sunset’s Home)

Within a matter of seconds, Belle and Sunset appeared in the living room of Sunset’s home. Sunset blinked in surprise by what the saiyan did as she released her hold on her as looked over at her with a surprised expression on her face.

“Okay, how did you even do that? I thought you couldn’t use magic to teleport us?”

“It’s not magic, it’s instant transmission. It allows me to teleport from one place to another so long as I can sense a person’s ki energy. But seeing how the only thing that I could sense was the magic coming from the house, I used that as a substitute for it.”

“Can anyone learn it?”

“Yeah, but it requires a lot of training and concentration,” Belle said before taking a seat on the couch. “You know where the book is, right? Might want to find it so we can get in contact with this Twilight girl you mentioned.”

“Oh, right!” Sunset said before heading off to where her bed was and began pulling stuff out from under it.

“While you’re doing that, I’m gonna have a quick snack from out of the fridge,” Belle said as she floated over to the kitchen.

“Serious? You’re hungry even after what’s going on at school?”

“I’m a Saiyan, what do you expect? Don’t race shame me just because my anatomy isn’t the same as you humans.”

“I’m not race shaming you…I’m just saying that you might want to learn some self-control. I’m pretty sure Celestia can’t afford to constantly buy us food within a day or two.”

“I make no promises…but I’ll try to limit my…portion control,” Belle said as she made her way to the refrigerator, but paused upon hearing the sound of something vibrating. Looking around the kitchen, she could hear the sound coming from on top of the refrigerator. She looked up to see a book glowing and vibrating. “Hey, what does this book of yours look like?”

“Well it’s brown, about the size of my bookbag, and has a pony symbol on it!” Sunset yelled as the saiyan heard stuff being thrown around. “Come on, where the hell is that book!?”

“You mean this book?” Belle asked as Sunset quickly made her way into the kitchen to see the Saiyan holding the book she was looking for.

“Where on earth did you find it!?”

“On top of the fridge.” She answered as Sunset facepalmed herself on the forehead. “In your defense, I’m pretty sure you must’ve forgotten about it, what with trying to start anew and all.”

“I need to get more organized in case of something like this,” Sunset said as she caught the book Belle tossed to her and began to write inside it. “I don’t know if Twilight will be able to write back soon, but anything is better than nothing, right?”

“Fair enough,” Belle said before returning to her raiding of the refrigerator. “Got a plan B if plan A doesn’t work out?”

“That’s where you come in?”

“How so?”

“Well, Celestia said that we can’t blow your cover, but what if we get you a disguise to help cover up certain features that you have.”

“...By certain features you mean the hair, tail, and ears?” Belle asked as Sunset nodded. “I’d figured as much. Got any idea on how to do that?”

“I might have something in mind, but we’ll talk about it later. Let's focus on seeing if Twilight will reply to my message.” She said before finishing her message to Twilight. “Now we just have to wait for a reply.”

“How long will that take?”

“Hard to say. It’s not like a cellphone where you can keep it on you and you’ll feel it vibrate or make a sound when you get a message.” She said before closing the book. “I’m sorry you got dragged into this. This is not how I wanted to start fresh after the whole takeover of the school incident.”

“You shouldn’t apologize for something you have no control over. Things like this are expected to happen…what with the portal being in front of the school. Plus I’m pretty sure they were here way before you came…I think.”

“What makes you say that?”

“Well, given how much energy they have just by sensing them, it’s clear they’re much older than us. I would say, maybe six or seven hundred years old from the looks of it.”

“They’re that old!? How is that possible!? They don’t look old or wrinkly!”

“I can only assume they can gather energy from people to maintain the way they look over the years, or they were born with eternal youth on their side. But that’s all I can think of in how they manage to survive for this long.”

“But if that’s the case, shouldn’t they be strong enough to take over the world?”

“They would need a huge amount of magic to do that, and given how all the magic is locked away behind that mirror portal thing, I doubt we have much to worry about.”

“That is true, and it’s not like Twilight can make her way over here to help up.” She said before looking at the book in annoyance. “Wish she would hurry up with the reply. This is an emergency.”

“Might take a while, she might be busy with…what princess-related stuff?”

“Maybe, but I was kind of hoping it would be like an on-the-spot response.” She said before extending a hand towards Belle. “We’ll have to wait a bit before we can get a reply back. For now, let’s just head back to school and hope the new girls haven’t caused too much trouble.”

“I doubt they could do much in the span of a few seconds or so,” Belle said as placed two fingers to her forehead and closed her eyes the moment she grabbed onto Sunset’s hand. Within a matter of seconds, the two would appear back in Celestia’s office and it took her and Luna by surprise by their sudden appearance out of nowhere.

“....Wow…you weren’t kidding when you said she could teleport,” Luna said as she stared at Sunset and Belle in utter shock.

“Would I lie when it comes to important matters like this?” Celestia asked before looking over at the girl and saiyan. “Any luck with sending a message to Twilight?”

“I was able to, but she hasn’t replied yet. I can only assume something might be going on in Equestria or she’s busy with something princess-related.”

“So we’re playing the waiting game then?” Luna asked as Sunset nodded. “Not the best-case scenario we’re currently in.”

“I take it Celestia informed you about the girls?” asked Belle as the vice principal nodded.

“You have my thanks for breaking their mind control spell on us. That was something I wouldn’t wish on my worst enemies.” Luna said as she shivered in disgust.

“Any news on Adagio and the others?” Sunset asked as Celestia and Luna shook their heads.

“We sent your friends after them and monitored their whereabouts, but we haven’t heard from them since then,” answered Celestia.

“So we’re playing the waiting game until something happens?” Belle asked as Celestia nodded.

“We don’t have the means to counter their magic. Until Twilight returns, we’ll have to do what we can on our end.”

“I mean, we don’t have to play the waiting game. I could always knock them out from a distance.” Belle said before noticing Celestia raising an eyebrow at her. “Hear me out before you say anything. I can knock them out from a distance without being noticed by anyone.” She said before making a ball of dark purple ki energy appear in her hand after raising it. “All I have to do is find a nice isolated location, pick up on their magical energy, and then knock them out with a small ki blast to the back of their head. Once they’re knocked out, we bring them here to have a little talk with them.”

“That’s…not a bad idea. But what about their magic?” Luna asked.

“That’s where that girl you mentioned comes in.”

“Twilight, right?” Sunset asked as the Saiyan nodded.

“Yes, if she knows anything about these girls, then that will give us an advantage over them.” She said before looking at Celestia and Luna. “If their source of magic involves a magical item, then that will be easy for me to snatch said item off the girls and crush it. Problem solved, school is saved, and no one gets killed or sent to the hospital.”

“What do you think sister?” Luna asks as she notices Celestia pondering the Saiyan’s plan for a moment before speaking.

“It’s not a bad plan. And you’re sure you’ll be able to hit them from a distance without anyone knowing?”

“Just get them to a secluded location and I’ll take care of the rest. Hell, I can even do it from here if that’s okay?” She said as Celestia placed a hand to her chin to ponder the idea.

“Let’s run it by Princess Twilight first before we do anything else. Once we have the clear, and if negotiation fails, we’ll go with your plan.” Celestia answered as Belle nodded.

“Perfect, we at least have a plan,” Belle said as she heard something vibrating in the room. “You guys hear something? Sounds like something is vibrating on something.” She asked as Celestia and Luna looked around the rooms, only to lay eyes on Sunset’s book as it gave off a light glow.

“Seems like you have a message, Sunset.” Celestia said as Sunset quickly looked over the book as a smile appeared on her face.

“Oh thank Faust, she replied back.” Sunset said in excitement as she quickly opened the book. Though her excitement quickly turned into dread while she was reading the message in the book.

“Something tells me that it’s not a good sign given your facial expression,” Belle said as she noticed Sunset placing the book on Celestia’s desk. “Something wrong?”

“We have bigger problems. Much bigger than the sirens.” Sunset answered.

“What is it? Did something happen to Princess Twilight?” asked Luna as Belle spoke up after reading what was written in the book.

“You want the good news or bad news. Because no matter how you look at this, it's not good either way you look at it.” Belle said as she motioned for Celestia and Luna to read the book. “This place called Canterlot was attacked by these two that are drawn in the book. Hence the reason why she didn’t reply quickly. Don’t worry, no one was killed, though Celestia’s counterpart is a different story seeing how she’s in the hospital after attempting to fight these two.”

“To make matters worse, they’re able to use the portal to leave that world and are currently making their way to this world,” Sunset added as the color on Celestia’s and Luna’s skins turned pale.

“...You mean to tell me that these not only the sirens, but these beings in the book are here in town?” Celestia asked as Belle nodded. “Then that means they're just like Belle?”

“If you mean aliens from another world, then yes.”

“Are you able to sense them by any chance?” Luna asked as the Saiyan closed her eyes for a good minute before shaking her head.

“Can't sense them. I can only assume they're able to hide their energy if that's the case.”

“Great, so not only do we have sirens to deal with, but aliens that might want to take over the world or destroy it,” Sunset said in annoyance. “This is not how I wanted the school year to go.”

“On the plus side, at least your pony friend is coming within the hour, so there is some good news,” Belle added as Sunset deadpans at the Saiyan.

“While that is a good thing, it still doesn't change the fact we have two powerful aliens on this planet. It only took them seconds to wreck Canterlot, what makes you think they wouldn't do the same here?”

“If that were the case, then we all would be dead by now. My best guess is that they’re trying not to be noticed for whatever reason. For now, we should focus on the sirens and make sure they don’t cause trouble for us.” Belle suggested as she noticed Luna and Celestia nodding in agreement. “Now, this princess Twilight girl is coming here, I suggest we head over to where the statue is so we can talk about what she knows of the sirens.”

“You sure focusing on the sirens is the best thing to do? For all we know, those aliens might be closer than we think.” Sunset said as the saiyan shook her head.

“Understandable, but we can’t afford to divide and conquer. Especially if we don’t have information on the aliens that came to this place. Doing so would get us hurt or worse.”

“Belle is right, focus on the sirens, and then we can deal with the aliens,” Celestia said as Luna nodded in agreement. “You two head off to the statue, I’ll call the others here and inform them about what happened.” She said as Belle and Sunset nodded in agreement before quickly running off to the statue outside. “...I’m starting to see what Sunset meant by not wanting weird stuff to happen during school.”

“It’s not like we could’ve known something like this would happen,” Luna said before taking a seat in front of Celestia. “Though I am a bit worried about what would happen if the public found out about this.”

“Don’t remind me. Bad enough that I had to explain to the police that it was a senior prank gone wrong for what Sunset did. The sirens…So long as they aren’t stealing magic around town, we might be able to cover it as another senior prank…but aliens from another world that isn’t Belle…I got nothing on this.”

“We’ll figure out something…We could ask Belle if she has something that could erase someone’s memories?”

“...You think she has something like that?”

“Possibly…she is from a place that patrols time…surely they have something for situations like this if things go south.” She said before noticing Celestia slumping in her seat and groaning.

“Is it too late to retire after this?” She asked before feeling Luna place a hand on her shoulder.

“My dear sister, the moment we found out about Sunset and magic, the option for retirement had left.”
