Power ponies thread of hope.
It's been two months since we found him.
The girls and I had just returned to the mansion that day only to find the place was totally destroyed on the inside, with the only evidence of Spike was his mask cut in half painted with blood. After doing a DNA test, our worst fear was confirmed, it was his.
My little brother, our friend, and a savior of our city Maretropolis, was dead.
It's one month since Spike's funeral. All of our families came out to mourn with us.
I still couldn't believe it, our Spike, was killed by a couple of thugs! I vowed that I would never kill, but if I ever find the ones who did this, I would tear them limb from limb as slowly and painfully as possible. And I know I'm not alone. Rainbow found the mask while we were looking elsewhere.
One moment I was looking through the hallways looking for him, next second I was debating which was louder, the lightning, the crying and screaming, or her shouting, "I'll kill them all" repeatedly.
Around this time was when I noticed how much we took him for granted. He was our anchor, he gave us strength when we were weak. Hell, he even cleaned after us like the slobs we are.
And on top of that we practically abused him and didn't notice, like how often he picked up my messes when I leave them all over the floor, all the verbal abuse and pranks from and Dash and Pinkie, how Rarity used his attraction to her own needs, and how when the Mane-is created a fear gas that would've drove the city to madness.
Spike would be able to hack that machine in his sleep! The only way we stopped it was having Fluttershy drop it from the top floor of the warehouse.
Sadly, the civilians, or even the villains, failed to remember he was even there.
But now we have a bit of a "distraction" you see, not even a week ago several murders began to popping up all over the city. And not just random murders, thugs, and criminal organizations all went down in a day when we couldn't even figure out where they were.
And this it was not a coincidence because all of these murders had a symbol at them. A neon green circle with an X going through it that was painted with the victim's blood at the scene of the crime.
But, believe it or not, that isn't even the worst part. There were some survivors but they were scared, and I mean that in two ways.
About Half of them were sliced across there limbs, eyes, and sometimes across the chest so they barely could breathe or even speak or mangled in other ways, but somehow still alive. but the other half had it (quite possibly) worst.
They had barely been hit but it was how they acted. They cried in fear when in the dark, they had bloodshot eyes and screamed at things that weren't even there, like knives, bats, killers, and other phobias, but when I tried mind reading, It was NOT pleasant! Scratch that is was a nightmare!
There was no light, not even in broad daylight. And there would times where there were nightmarish chuckling and two burning embers and four knives like diamonds, And blood spilling from my eyes like crimson tears, the ground, walls, and everything in sight was a nightmare-ish plain of ice!
When I got out of there, I Immediately puked buckets. To put it simply, whoever the hell this was, he was a complete monster! bad people deserve justice, not one creep I've put away deserves any of that, not ONE.
We started our investigation immediately, but even with our best efforts there has been no recorded history of anything similar happening, no criminal or Asylum patients, no one did this, and even after days of searching and work, all leads led to a dead end, but even then we won't stop yet, but what all this lead to was something that left scars, and even if they heal, I'll hardly ever be the same.
I am Twilight Sparkle (a.k.a Masked Matter-Horn) and this may be our greatest threat yet.

Chapter 1: Plan Of Attack

Maretropolis
Power Pony Mansion
The giant boardroom with High tech computers, wanted posters, evidence pieces littering the desks and shelves of the room, dimly lit by a lamp every so often. In the middle had six identical blue and white slick chairs in a small circle surrounding a blue table with a table with a map of Maretropolis with several large and different colored tacs some green, blue, red, black and a newly added neon green to mark the location's recent murders which was also tonight's topic
"Ok girls this is what we've got on this guy," Twilight started pulling herself out of her trance. She wore her suit as was everyone else except for the masks.
"1. they don't hurt just anyone, they specifically target Ex-Convicts or those still In business, 2. They torture them, He normal leaves one mark in Vital areas and the others just pierce the flesh along with the bullet wounds and whatever he used to make these hallucinations strains its victim's sanity, 3. He has advanced knowledge of them, he found where they worked and took them out before WE did. 4. There are no records of any living vigilantes, murderers or psychopaths that ever did anything near this plus the fact that all footage found that would have them on it is wiped clean."
The other four had a mix of disgust, confusion, and thoughtfulness on they're faces as they were proccing the (lack of) Information.
"So," Rainbow started drawing all attention "We have NO information except for 'likes to kill' and 'insane, yeah that'll be a slice of cake." She finished her voice dripping with sarcasm.
"Hold your horses Dash, no one's perfect they'll slip up and when they do we'll be there and nab that vermin." Applejack replied.
"Applejack is right darling, we just have to keep a lookout and have patience." Rarity continued supporting Applejack.
To this Rainbow groaned and replied with "Fine. But when that happens I get first dibs. But still, we have to think if they don't slip ever or we decide that this has gone on long enough, how will we trap him? As much as I hate to admit it... he's too sneaky and I can't get them, WE can't get them."
After all the team thought for a few solid minutes Fluttershy was surprisingly the first to speak up
"W-what if we bait them?"
All the girls just stared at her for a moment before Twilight asked: "What do you mean Shy?" not totally sure she heard her right
"He hunts down Criminals, right? What if we were to... to," She took one deep breath and switched her gaze between them as she spoke: "If we were to hire detectives or actual criminals then he will be there, we ambush him and bring him in... uh, what do you guy's think?"
The rest of the group just thought to themselves and looking at each other. It wasn't a bad idea sure but there were some ways this could go wrong and add a few more details to it and it was perfect... maybe.
"I'm with Fluttershy." The rest looked up at Pinkie pie who had been uncharacteristically quiet this evening.
"I don't like the idea of siding with those meanies, but we can ask the police for assistance."
"I think we should," Rainbow started "Plus we could use stuff from evidence to make things more convincing, guns, drugs, whatever we could use."
"Or we use an abandoned building on the outskirts of town like a motel or a warehouse!" Applejack contributed
"And I could get my cousin to report that crime has been spotted in that area and our 'Vigilante' would find in a few days tops and we spring the infantry." Rarity added throwing in her two cents and material
Suddenly all the members turned their heads to Twilight for her approval. She took several deep breaths before sighing loudly followed by a small smile.
"Let's do this girls." She said confidently placing her open hand in the middle of the table and one by one the rest of there gloved hands joined her's and they held them there for several seconds before Rarity noticed Twilight tearing up her smile quivering.
"Darling what's wrong, if it's this wannabe Mane-iac then I promi-"
"N-No it's just that *sniffle* this is the first major mission we've been on without S-Spike... This one is for you baby bro."
Hearing that saddened them all. She was right, all those missions, Mane-iac, Pharoah Phetlock, High Heel, Long Face. All of them they had spike with them at all times. This comment was also a reminder that whoever H.Q the manor was not captured yet mixing their anger with sadness.
Speaking of which with closer investigation The only destruction was through the front door and into the hallways and stairs leading into Spike's room and only his, no equipment had been destroyed no diaries were stolen, the Bastard only came for him.
And after a solid minute of silence, the six looked up, into the heavens (and roof) and said in near unison,
"For Spike."
Another moment of silence,
"Girls,"
Rainbow, Applejack, Fluttershy, Pinkie Pie, And Rarity looked Their leader with her mask on disguising her as Masked Matterhorn.
"Let's Go"
With that statement, the rest put on their masks and hoods and left their chairs and marched out of the room and out the H.Q and Flew\Ran\Teleported into the great city of Maretropolis.

Pharoah Phetlock's Safehouse\Warehouse
"This is not good."
"That's an understatement We're dead!"
"Calm down I have enough strength to take on the Power Ponies, we will NOT die by this powerless RODENT!"
"Yeah? Well, this one is trying to KILL us, which those damn Power Ponies never tried."
This was the debate which was going through Pharoah Phetlock's head, Only minutes ago he was overseeing the warehouse were dozens of henchmen were analyzing weapons and armor or patrolling the place with assault rifles or shotguns. He was seeing over a delivery of armor (that had the extraordinary capability to hold and absorb kinetic energy and had heavy elemental resistance making it virtually invincible.) From paid off scientists who developed military weapons, gadgets and etc.
He was practically drooling into the box as he eyed the tech as if he was a baby at a candy store.
He put one hand forward to touch the first object, a pitch black Gauntlet with a white glow from a large orb in its center.
LG-910 was typed in white on the back of the hand, the metal was shiny as gold and was fused together.
His hand was mere centimeters away from the armor when-
*CRACK**BANG* *CRACK* *BANG**CRACK* *BANG**CRACK* *BANG**CRACK**BANG* *CRACK* *BANG**CRACK**BANG**CRACK* *BANG**CRACK**BANG**CRACK**BANG**CRACK**BANG**CRACK**BANG**CRACK*
And as quick as it started all the lights went out on the top floor which covered the workplace in total darkness and was instead illuminated by the gunfire. Phetlocks Looked up startled as much as his henchmen.
He couldn't see anything but bodies falling and a swift shadow.
But it was what he heard that frightened even him
Gunfire ringing nonstop, Some thugs ordering them to shoot that thing, And... the screams, the sound of flesh tearing of like fresh fruit cutting open and them begging them to stop always ending in a fleshy snap or squish along with the crunch of bones. You wanna know something? That wasn't the worst part the worst thing with this... Was the laugh, BY THE GODS THE LAUGH!!
After every snap, stab, scream, beg for mercy and squeal a demonic and crazed laugh increased in volume until it was louder than the guns, it wasn't Phetlock's or any other villain's in any way when they felt victory and used it to taunt and torment their enemies. But this, this was pure joy and pleasure, like a child playing in the sound, except this was measured by the blood that drenched the ground. And no one was helping every guard and henchman in the place went with firearms and ran up in fury and dedication.
But within minutes all of them were ripped to ribbons.
Phetlocks just stood there and stared at the blackened carnage above, He could smell the blood and flesh that littered the ground as the unmeasurable waterfall of blood washed down through the bars above
And even all of that couldn't draw him away from the beast standing over him, two burning embers that burned into his soul and froze his body, A large silhouette of a man that stood perfectly still except for his breathing. And on each of his backhands housed twin diamond-like blades which all four reflected a small amount of light, just enough to show all 11 inches of metal per claw.
Phetlocks held his breath as much as possible but when he did it was ragged, small and pathetic, so what do you do when a monster which cut down about 60 people in minutes well Phetlocks made like every stupid white girl in horror movies do: run like hell.
but before he made it five feet several small blue-ish metal pieces in ball form fell and surrounded him, he thought nothing of them an ran forward he took one step and...
*BEEP*
*BOOM*
A blue mist surrounded him and grew high, still, he tried to run through the smoke but instead ran headfirst into a wall. Phetlocks fell on his back and forced himself to recover despite the bleeding gash on his forehead. He stood up and put one hand forward and indeed was a large wall, he looked up and saw the last of the mist dissolve revealing the Pharoh's worst first a small dome of ice formed a tight circle around him. But how was this possible? He must have ice powers!
Neat hmm?
The Pharaoh stopped completely that voice gave him more goosebumps than the ice and his blood ran colder than it too, His pupils shrank into pins.
I stole those puppies from some ice obsessed guy in Got-horn had some statue of some woman he loved or something.~
The shadow now perched on the ice cone as the words slithered out with more venom than a cobra.
The cold that emitted made his teeth chatter as he shut his eye's closed to avoid the taunting stalker's gaze.
Awww poor little sand bitch can't handle snow, what a joke.~
The Pharaoh pointed his palms up in an attempt to gather sand and shoot the shadow.
At this moment the stalker leaped down with a force that made Phetlocks lose his focus, and in one thrust the attacker's right claws ripped clean through Phetlock's palm and wrist.
"GAAAAAHHHHH!!!"
"He really needs a contingency plan for shit like this," The shadow said to himself studying his victim's twitches and movements, he noticed how man still tried to conjure a blast but dropped it every time.
"This is not good."
"That's an understatement We're dead!"
"Calm down I have enough strength to take on the Power Ponies, we will NOT die by this powerless RODENT!"
"Yeah? Well, this one is trying to KILL us, which those damn Power Ponies never tried."
This was the debate which was going through Pharoah Phetlock's head, and in a desperate attempt he took his uninjured right hand and swiped a hunting knife off his belt and with all his might swung it around to the beast's neck. But instead of the blade hitting him, He caught the villain's hand and--
CRUNCH
"FUCK!!!"
The beast kept his grip on his right hand and twisted the blades upwards to avoid the arm from slipping away.
Phetlocks couldn't take it anymore, his eyes were blinded by the red, murderous eyes in front of him. He could only hear a distant and slowing heartbeat. This was the end and he knew it was true he just wished it would be over quicker.
The shadow took a step forward pinning Phetlock against a wall and slowly removed his claws which were greeted by another blood-curdling scream. After the claws were removed from his arms the shadow took a step back and one to the side as the Pharoah collapsed on the floor at the shadow's feet.

He couldn't see but he could hear rustling, a click and seconds later an all too familiar song began to play
